They are too slow and are easily dundr'd away, dudnr has rechared by the time they are close enough again and rinse and repeat.
The archers shoot slowly and the volley is easy to dodge.
The valkyrie telephones her attacks way in advance and can dance around her.
Morgen just rolls away all the time and is easy to dodge.
The askvin is just so erratic and that dash can be devastating, punting you out of the blue to a bunch of mobs or into the lava.

Staff of the wild is the goat, throw vines on top of spawners and they go down so quick.
Toss the vines at your feet and you have a safeish zone around you, where you can wait for a new bubble.

oh now that you mentioned that I remembered the 2nd time I died in ashlands, no 3rd tho. I was fighting enemies, and one of the vines slapped a Dvergr without me knowing about it... and got shot in the back twice and died instantly 😂

Don't worry about elemental because that comes from using the staff of embers or possibly the staff of frost but I don't like the staff of frost.
Blood magic can be grinded by making a greydwarf farm or draugr farm and having archery skeletons take care of them.
Using skeletons to damage mobs and having your shield from staff of protection get hit (only your personal shield counts for exp) are the only ways to level blood magic.

True but you need to stay close by so you can re-summon skeletons that eventually get killed, with archers you don't need to care about that and can go out for a nice bike rider, sleep, take a nap, cook, ...
The archer skeletons take care of the mobs before they have time to throw a rock or shoot an arrow with melee they get the chance to retaliate.

Just 2 eitr food that you can sustainably make and eitr stamina or health depending on what you want, it is no different than with melee or ranged build.

It’s nothing to do with the level of the enemy, just the physical + lightning damage of the attack, and your health and block armor.

Generally it’s best not to block 2-stars unless they’re using a weak attack such as a morgen’s jump

Daytime is for sure more manageable. Night time is still... oof... but I feel we will be able to make more progress... We also dropped the death penalty down, so we're not set back so far when we die.

you'll need a ton of iron and across many biomes, but there is sources for it in later biomes too, everything else is not super hard to get copper is ok to mine and you don't need tons of it, tin also easy, further metals imo even easier, just the iron takes a while especially if you want to build with it

Meat Platter, Honey Glazed Chicken, Lox Pie, and Serpent Stew all do the exact same stats if I recall correctly, so whichever of those is easiest for you to make and resupply. Misthare Supreme I think is the top tier HP food. Salad is a very good and easy to make stamina food

once you start breeding chickens and farming jotun puffs/magecaps, recipes get cheaper and cheaper

kinda. im still new to ashlands and i just was sneakin around, never saw a fallen valkyrie before, so when i saw a big weird shadow bird from far away i was curious. i stealthed up to take a gander, and noticed 2 rogues killing all the skellies around. at that point i didnt know they could even spawn out here, first time i have seen em, so i'm just watching for a bit.

finally they get in range of aggro for her, and she comes down to kill em. this also aggro'd me, but i'm a big scaredy weenie and started to run, she chased and they started shooting her, got her attention and died crazy hard as i ran for my life lmao

I keep hearing this, and I've not "officially" been to the Ashlands yet, but one of the dudes on my server decided to strip naked and take himself down there on a raft. He made landfall (barely) and wound up killing himself in the water because he couldn't find a monster to do the job of sending him home.

Ashlands is still tough, and you can get still get swamped. Lag is still a thing there too.

However, it is much better, in my opinion, now than it was before.

One of the friends I play with rage quit the game entirely because of the previous Ashlands experience. And the other only played occasionally.

But they are both back now, and we are starting to make actual progress in the biome, whereas before we were barely getting anywhere. And dying many multiple times just to make what very little progress we did make.

I build with iron because it’s used in tons of recipes so I know I’ll need more whether or not I build. But there’s not a lot of recipes after dark forest that require bronze/copper. Also copper is probably my least favorite metal to go back and get (although it’s fun to get with on level gear) because lategame gear speeds up collection much less than other metals.

At the least (before you get the obliterator), if you have meat you don't need just burn it into coal. Then it's useful.
