Not necessarily grown, but as systems become more mature they can be more easily added to if they're well designed. A lot of the growing pains of Valheim have been "under the hood" features and work that wasn't apparent to the player as content, but needed to be done to support content.

The things like the terrain engine optimization, various lighting and other changes, having to fix various things about the building engine and AIs and pathing, lots of things that don't have direct visibility to the player. Many that I'm sure they haven't announced, not to mention Unity engine updates and so on and the work needed to support those changes.

I remember for Ashlands there was a lot of work needed for the terrain generation. This is likely great groundwork for the north as well! 😁

It still exposed bugs and weaknesses in both directions, which took dev resources away from adding new features. It was one of the big reasons it "stalled" for so long after initial release, a ton of bugs and core architecture issues were discovered once it reached such a large audience and they needed to fix that before they could move forward.

We got the info that ashlands will be releasing in first half of 2024 in january i believe (or maybe late december?) And no worries 🙂 if we didnt want to answer questions we would ignore them. But based on previous experiences my personal opinion is that we will not be getting DN this year, if it would take the same time as ashlands then we could maybe get it at the end of the year but then again it will also entail all the work behind full release.

In my opinion, Minecraft has become worse because getting incredibly powerful equipment has become so easy, and the mending enchantment allows that stuff to be kept forever. Good equipment just doesn’t have value anymore and the progression of the game is a joke.

I don't really agree with this take. As Minecraft has drifted more and more from a "cave game" into a creative outlet, the game more or less begins for real once all your tools are acquired. The "story" leading up to beating the dragon is essentially a tutorial.

That being said, I do agree that the game is arguably becoming worse. Mainly through content bloat and loss of atmosphere. 1.16 was the last universally good update.
