It's modded. You can't actually build any of that without mods. I'll delete the images as to not mislead players. Sorry :C
Point still stands, what glass is it, im a mod runner myself so 😄
I believe it's from the Odins Kingdom mod :))
cheers!
That looks extremely nice!
I added to my starter base, fortified it and put a small pier near it 🙂 I think I've got an ocean nearby and the dark forest in the backyard xD
Hopefully it's an ocean and not just some massive lake haha
looks very nice
could be 😅 I love the exploring part of valheim. sailing is really nice and scary at the same time 😂
Well, it does look cozy 😄
lol i recommend using anything but the raft, its way to fragile to be used (found this out the hard way)
😅 good to know. I had a scary situation, where I almost crashed way out from the shore 🙈
Our starter village lol (they didn't mind me flying for the ss)
Hi I love this castle idea would U mind sending like a picture of the wall design cuz I'm trynna make something similar
Ill send ya some screenshots when im home ✌
Alr ty
current setup, have yet to visit the ashlands
Huh?? how were you able to build that high? are you using trees as support? Looks awesome
oh yeah, i removed the height cap with a mod to make it possible
There is a specific channel for modded screenshots. FYI
oh sorry
the original description of this channel allowed/allows modded screenshots too. does my screenshot look modded to you? - cause its vanilla/unmodded
The only rule is no ptb content, which is not an issue at this time
should be visible, for conventional style before grausten pieces left with a 3 block gap and the one with the arch 4 block. u also need to custom place the sideblocks halfway into the mainwall for ashlands arched wall. looks better a bit thinner on the wall
The full volume kitchen
and the new pets
Thats sophisticated :] love it.
Looks so good! 🥰
HOLY SHIT
Oh wow, that first house! Any chance for more pictures of that one?
the blue moon tower from dragons dogma in way smaller than original due to instance problem :/ the drawing is from google but helped to build
in the center of the tower its 14400 instances
love that new world smell~
@gilded cosmos I wish i took more screenshots of everything i have built before they were gone on servers i were playing on but here are a few from outside and inside. Were also using Gizmo for alot with the build! last picture there on the back side the window was like a tree in the window with the patern thought i had a picture of that but i guess not
Hello new here in the discord. Been playing for about 2 years on and off. Excited for ashlands!! Here's a shot of my new build
Nice work! Got a close up shot of the gate with the two towers?
I really hope there is some crazy breakthrough that makes high instance counts not laggy. My base isn’t even that large and fps is dying since I’ve been building on it for like 150 in game days. My fps drops severely and I’m on a 4090 with a 13900k cpu and plenty of ram
Soooooo ... I've been watching Shogun, lately. (I have yet to determine exactly what I'm goignt o do around the base of this thing. Working on water is always a pain.
how is that thing standing?? On wooden supports?!?
looks really cool
Note: This is built in hammer mode. spoiler: ||There are flametal pillars running from the ground and up to support each floor.||
oh i see. not that far in the game to have unlocked those
i think the game should be a little more lenient on structural stability but i see why they lock it behind progress. so you cant build giant insane bases from the beginning
You can also use normal Iron beams to put inside the wood to strenghen the structure and probably way cheaper then the once he talked about
and stone is a very good one too since if you have going up from the ground, even if the stone is bright red and cant build further. Wood will always become grounded with blue even if the stone is at red
my first stone build from like 1 or 2 years ago on the first world i played
compared to tower i built recently, upgrade asethetically. but need to work on making a tower just as tall or taller
Never really made any towers other then this gate bridge thingi with 2 towers that came out pretty well but these were the first once i made and well i haven't made much with towers really
they look pretty cool. planning on starting a large scale build like that soon. how many instances is that place? if you know?
No idea how strong the new metal beams are though if you can build way higher then the iron beams but i guess the only way to find out is to try hehe
yeah i need to grind so i can make better builds with the new materials
Safe adventuring to get that far! time for me kinda to try to build a cathedral on a server im playing no now, ill see if it becomes good i could post here maybe xD but could take some time
some progress on upgrading my base. wall looks janky because it was built off a janky wood wall built literal years ago
I think the wall could be a easy fix, not much pieces are wierd in it but will be a little ^^ Had a wall made in this place witch was the first little base i made with a friend when i started the game, since i belive i haven't been on main land much since i tend to like plains islands where you dont really need a wall xD
can kinda see the wall going in the background with 2 sides on it and it became pretty nice tbh
yeah ive been trying to decide where to relocate. i want to have a second base thats much larger and either a castle or a village style like you have
This world i haven't played on for a long time tho since the friend had it since i were new to the game but i have also only played almost on servers where stuff has been wiping sadly where i couldn't save all the screenshots i would have liked but i guess that's how it is sometimes, had some crazy bases hehe
i did too, i had all the screenshots on my old laptop which broke. RIP. ive never made it past moder on any server
Ah rip, too bad the screenshots went poof but that's how it goes sometimes. Have you made it past moder on solo?
for example, i built a huge mead hall and the only picture of it, is it in the corner of this screenshot. and it hardly shows how large it was
nope. never have played solo. im ready to beat moder on my current world with my friend
Oh yea that's true. this was also a meadhall in that picture i sent up there hehe so ye, dont have any more then this either xD
That's Awsome! were playing with a bunch of people on a official server for a few months since it was progression locked so we had no choice to run around in mistlands with troll armor so i have done pretty much everything
that is like super similar to how the one in my photo was built. the rounded sides and the vented stircking out roof thing. i based it on the skyrim(the companions hall in whiterun)
That's cool to base it on that house yes, and yea i can see it infont of me
were tempted to make the castle there in whiterun here on Valheim but maybe later at some point hehe
i have like 250 hours on the game and havent beat it lol. pretty embarassing
the aesthetic translate really well to valheim
nah some have a slower progression and love building more then anything, i think i haden't beaten yagluth, the next boss after moder for over 100 hours so you are good hehe ^^
Yea the building styles you can put in the game are pretty awsome tbh, so much you can put in with detail and such
i think the mechanics could be improved its pretty annoying to place stuff sometimes
But ever since i found out about Gizmo (mod) i never wanna play without it now xD
what does that do?
It makes it so you can turn any building piece around however you want, and adds the turning cycle on blocks from like the 16 i bealive to like 32 or something
werid that the game doesnt let you do this already
This is a portalhub i made in creative for a server where you can see the posibility with the roofy bit
yeah thats a pretty intense portal hall
Oh yea it was haha, were pretty insane with instances too since i were gonna hold it low on instances xD kinda went overboard
but that's the 3rd portal hub i ever made
lol i had a really creepy portal hall on my old world. it was in a random location and i made it extremely long so it felt infinite
the outside was ugly cuz it was just a really long stretch of stone building. but i put it super far away from anything else on the server
This was the second one i made and it was huge, pretty bad to build it there since when it was done, the base went from like 13k instances to 20k instances and well it was alot, I loved it though since i also made the vegvisir in the middle that looked pretty nice, can see it in the middle photo, but sadly didin't take screenshots of it inside i believe
I built two towers on the highest point I could find on my map. A lot of earth curvature.
My current portal hall is about the size of the inner circle of that and has like 50 portals in it
How is it supported? Btw nice work on the spiraling section
hey guys, finished my first published build. tell me what you think https://www.valheimians.com/build/storage-building-inspired-by-versaugh-s-storage-house/
#mods-screenshots is a thing for a reason lol
some cool screens in here, ive alot to learn apparently!
Grausten is the best thing since baked bread
I was at like 560 hours, had not touched yagluth nor the queen 😄
Builder things
It’s completely vanilla, the whole thing could be optimized for use with valheim plus mechanics but…
Not pointing at yours, yours just happened to be there. But a lot of the ones right above yours are modded.
I think I would have an absurd amount of hours if I hadn’t had been so busy past couple years. Awesome game to sink time into
Same here, there are moments (weeks, months) where the inspiration strikes and all you can do is build, destroy, and rebuild
Small river outpost
I raised the terrain as high as I could. Then planted a tree on it. Then put a column of iron beams on the tip of the tree. I believe this tower is 88 meters tall.
Thank you for sharing, I've been wanting to see more Grausten castle builds. 🙂
Same here so I just took it upon myself 😂
Just beat the dragon though!!
Well done!
Unlocks some nice stuff to play with too 🙂
@sweet vault
I'll do that thanks
Here is my little base, construction halted because of low FPS 😅
The rest of pics are on FB,
https://www.facebook.com/groups/992019725464370/permalink/1150004969665844/
im currently in the process of making my second base :)
it hurts
i finished it
Valheimians.... I Never heard of it before
My tavern with new build pieces and full rest/cooking functionality
not that big is relative, u need to look on the instances for me it already goes down on 13-18 fps after 13000 instances. on 20000 its unplayable. and yes i hope so too ( also adding more rendering range) so i could build this thing in 1 to 1
it would be so massive that it completely filled the gap between the islands
sure here u have some of the build. im still unsatisfied. its not massive and intidimidating enough as in DD1.
and i already used quite a lot of 4x2 blocks
heres another gate which is actually custom made, if u are interested.
Thanks for sharing! What I like about your towers so much is the depth. I am not the biggest fan of the grausten wall pieces but the smaller ones and arches work nicely the way you mesh it with layered stone. Great work! 👏
Not sure if that’s even manageable considering scale in dd1. Maybe would be easier to try and build vernworth castle? Looks really cool
With a Lil help from Phinq's Guide but slightly modified
hoarder
Guess in 1 to 1 vernworth still be fluctuating between 50000 and 150000 instances due to rendering all the time, if u add the other districts. Took the blue moon tower due to the interesting ring like shape while being in the water.
Do Gran Soren next. 😉
gran soren even worth then vernworth xD the fieldsidewalls and the two gates probably take up 15000 instances alone
this is my build so far, im curious should i tear down the lighthouse and do a more hexagon type silo tower? i feel like its almost to square but it could be my ADD
Doesn't look bad, but i feel like it could be taller
good point
So, I am building something like this but on a bigger scale. My "long" wall is 20 2x2 floors long, but I can't get the curve's dimensions. How long should the outer and inner curve walls be?
Tried doing 20 x 10, 20 x15 on a gridded paper online, neither of those looked proportionate
Or does it have to be odd numbers?
my biggest first fort ive ever made, story line in screenshots, its an survival world, and all resources I got it with my companion
- Ruined tower
- Construction of the first walls
- The blacksmith
- First quartal of the castle
- Port
- Expansion of borders for the new walls
- New zone of castle
- The main entrance and round-magetower reveal
- Tavern
- Whole view
Hey guys let me introduce you this little project
awesome! great re-creation
Is that gate lox travel compatible?
Probably not but its a porttown on the starter island. U can get in via the sea.
show me your lox travel compatible building and i ll bring a lox...
they rly shouldnt have this much aoe when tamed
work in progress
Hey everyone! It’s been a month since my last sharing, and this time I want to share my new version of the cabin!
Because I play this game alone, the larger buildings in the past often made me spend a lot of time getting and looking for items. This time the construction is more personal. I hope you like it.
Crafting models sometimes take up a lot of space and are not easy to put together, so I will reserve space at the bottom of the floor and place them under the floor
I'm sorry if there are some incorrect translations!
Not much, But a little project I threw together pre ashlands
Just built this because I got tired of forgetting the ingredients
the large wooden gates, when connected together using 2 to create a double wide gate, has enough room between the spacing to allow a lox to walk through without getting stuck. I tried with the flametal gates in PTB and even though they take up the same outer width as the wooden gates, they didnt allow me to travel through on a lox. I got stuck and was unable to pass
been waiting/hoping for them to add an upgraded gate thats lox width compatible for designs on special stone iron stables
I think, I found a nice location for a first creative and bigger project 😄
the shape of my grandesque ocean tower build. Taking inspiration from the forsaken fortress of wind waker as well as the tower of orthanc from lotr
thats an awesome idea!!
Absolutely insane love it
How’d you add color to the signs?
We can use html/css code in the text field! For example, this is what I put in for Barley wine:
<size=2><#F00>10 Barley<br>10 Cloudberries
It’s easier to type your formatting in a note and then copy/paste into the Sign’s text field in-game.
Wall design.
very nice, looks elder scrolls like.
New playthrough 🥂
we exhausting ourselves even before the new build pieces
I was playing with building min/max styles and thought this would be a fun extension on my Mage's Tower.
villages are so cool
Any idea on how to Improve after i got the Standard wall build going
Same place befor n after Hours of "terraforming" with pickaxe
building a castle with a built in boat house in it, its going well but the roofing is gonna be a whole lotta work
I started my first bigger base in survival (still first playthrough of the game). This will consist of multiple buildings and a defense line. I'm going for a "main base situation" here with a multitude of portals planned for different locations.
the right building is the wood & stone storage with food chests and firepit, the left building will be my main crafting hall. from there, I have a beautiful view over a big lake. nearby will also be the "portal pavillon"
ignore the "floating stairs" xD
cosy base
For now work in progress but some of my build after 10 day inside Ashland I have back with all the ressource I have see and I have create a manor with 3 stage
Some part and more in few I need few thousand stone again 😅
I have again 3 good base and 1 city in progress but a lot of hours needed in solo for these in normal setting
We may not be the best builders, but which roof design looks better?
My big dark castle 🏰
Always the one with levelling in the roof. Just 45 degree roof looks like a kid drew it. but thats the roofs fault not urs xD
shamelessly stole your fence desing, looks amazing 😄
My small museum replica vs My friend build
my second building in creative mod (I have 17 hours in the game)
very impressive
With a more fitting weather 🙂
Introducing my biggest Wood building, the Trophy Hall! The Structure is original from me but the trophy organization isnt!
Ash spoiler ||Fader|| is missing but i really wanna know how do i can organize that weird trophys
if anyone wanna know how did i make the roof
I will probably use this for my asksvin breeding
The castle reclamation is coming along well
My attempt at building a long-ass bridge over this large creek so I can more easily access the black forest on the other side
Eye of Sauron Ashlands Fortress
if you want backlight a item hanging item, mount a circlet above it
i have 5 mounted above thise items
going to expand in the back of the island and add a tower and maybe somthing else i havent decided, might add a tower in the front to
im thinkin i can put a lighthouse here maybe
Would love to explore this up close.
It's possible, I can open my map for a visit or take other screenshots
That is SO cool! How long did that take?
For this castle 80h
For my all kingdom 400h maybe
I built a real city
Tonight I'm connecting in the chan fulling village and I'll make a stream and open the lao for those who wish to visit
On my world for exemple :
GL dude, it would be a pleasure, if you could update us, how its going!
Ah, thank you so very much! Will keep you updated, then!
love the way you've done the roofs
Holy what, that one castle is more house than my entire game time
Looks absolutely amazing 👌
New Ashlands world mainbase house, double walls, features full kitchen, all crafting stations, (temporary portal room) and -MASSIVE- amounts of storage
First time getting into building, having a lot of fun with this smelter/forge area. The boxy hut in the back left is temporary, lol
Progress on the bridge so far
Wow dude, looks fire!! Keep up the Work 🙂
Thank you very much!
Project I'm working on at the moment
The pinnacle of my mage tower (50m-ish about ground; height limit), table will be replaced with the magic crafting table once we unlock it 🍷
Looks a bit ravenclaw
first time bulding
my base so far, i've finally changed from my typical triangular base. The rooves do look a little weird, but I love the shapes
after building the results (x1 resources)
Finally something creative not just the generic fantasy stuff 😄 Can we see more of your construction site ?
sure, can show you some angles, though most of the place is still literally and figuratively in construction
@unborn belfry
Cooool ! Now this is thinking outside the box ! Great !
had to make something like this because grausten would remind me so much of concrete
Okay I'm impressed. I sometimes see something not fantasy. But rarely something so modern. I like it, super cool.
MG Shadow Moses ahhh build, damn
I need your save can you give your save pls
how it's going so far (this grausten is such a pain to get omfg)
Rehabilitated greylings are more than suitable for basic equipment management
Some shots of my Castle from an old public server to a new version in a private game.
it will be very difficult to repeat this without a creative mode 🙂
Isnt! Every place in Ashlands you can get it, bring UP a Morgen or a Lava Blob and you Will get 10 stacks or more
Bro this is awesome
I love Ashland Update 😄 My Home
that's gorgeous ❤️ good job
Amazing
First time player here 🙂 I just moved my whole base of operations and built up this new base. Looking for feedback 🙂 I'm still in the copper age and currently gearing up for the second boss. I still need to setup a farming area for carrots and stuff and need to give them piggys a bigger area 🙂
Also, chests are hard to align nice xD
The vendor is a cutie 🥰
did you build this on creative mode?
Minas Tirith
I love it! It’s adorable ❤️
But does it have seven walls and seven gates? xD jk, looks gorgeous! I assume created in creative mode?
Thank you very much! Really appreciated!
yes
nice 😄
yeah I get that, the pain is that ashlands itself :/
Welp, go cut down spires in the boiling sea for it, probably easier than running around on the ground trying i get it while dealing with all the charred, asksvins, etc (though probably still annoying, you'll at least have your drakkar with a bunch of storage space ready to go). You'll only need to deal with bonemaws and voltures to get the grausten for an extravagant survival build. Personally I would just no cost something so big though, building stuff like that in survival just seems like too much imo.
have issues with figuring out the new door pices but think i nailed this dock, (freebuild)
Issues with the big flametal gates?
yeah lol
is it me or is nothing adding up to thaT
Nah they are a little weird to place, if I'm trying to put them in the center of one of the knew grausten 4x4 floor pieces I'll put a 2m beam from the corner to the center and attach the gate to the beam edge in the center of the floor piece, and then mirror the next one. You'll also have to raise the arch up another large grausten pillar piece (so there's 4 stacked pillars and then the arch above), as they're quite tall.
Looks like you might be using 3 of the 2x2 grausten floor pieces? You could use a 1m beam to the center of the middle floor piece and do the same as above.
Just to create the snapping point and then you can delete the beam
hum
Indeed, having to raise the initial arch would throw off the rest of the build here, but it looks nice as is imo
though i diddent intend to use the new gate in this build though
be careful, the lag is coming
😔 I got a good pc I can handle 40k+ instances and get 50fps
wow! what config?
4070TI, AMD Ryzen 7 7800 and some baller ram
I wonder if my settings are just crap. I got a similar build but get like 10fps at 50k instances
We may need to negotiate tours between your Minas Tirith, and my Orthanc, would love to see it. Been mulling over doing Edoras since I found a place that needs minimal terrain changes.
oh but this is SO fucking cool
Thanks, found this spot near the edge of the ashlands and just had to use it
I havent even thought about making an orchyard like that. very nice @viral nexus
I can say it for yours too mate
Behold my new home 🥳
Garden House i love this ♥
Garden House or Castle Tower 🤔
building round structures is a damn pain in the damn arse lol
annyway post your grausten roofs please.. im confused
Finally done with like 95% of the exterior for this building, now just left to do the interior, and then I can continue with the spawn area
so... I spawned in this surtling core stand, but it seems to be indestructible. is there any way to get rid of it?
there are some mods like infinity hammer that let you remove any object
mayber forcedelete with a very low radius ?
amazing, stability mods used?
You can force delete specific items
So force delete radius item ID
I used 'spawn rock_destructible_test' so it's vanilla friendly, and doesn't "break" with updates.
it worked, thanks!
I need to finish a few more chairs, add food to the tables and the second floor is very incomplete but this is by far the most complex build I've done
bloody impressive
building an endgame base under and on one of the further-out Elder altars
I love the portal man!
That wall design looks really good
Nearly complete
Palace on the Plains
nice
thanks... their complicated lmao
i had to do it that way cause there is no 1x2 walls in marble or grausten ... WHYYY smiffe? : P
Even a 1x1 grausten would go a long way.
yuuuup
lol.. make a bugreport.. that the 2x1 was suposed to be an 1x2 : P
eeery : P
ideas on where to go from here?
some kind of wall on the dirt?
hmmm opinions on this rooftop?
trying this
Aestheticly* left foundation walls fit well
right side just looks weird to me. Maybe use the small marble pillars instead?
post-ashlands survival village, guys. enjoy!
Nice longhouse
diddent think about that.. but those are round again..
nice work
oh i can send some more detailed screenshots of that, if you're interested
please
I gotta go to sleep now though, ping me when you post it @ocean minnow cheers 👍
realy nice work there!
My Elder altar base is taking shape. I'm quite happy with how the front came out.
Not sure what to put on the roof though beside the central tower (which is just stairs atm lol).
the interrior was my work, but the whole thing + garden was @twilit cradle 's work
I know this is the build that EVERYBODY does, but I'm very proud of my latest Borgund-inspired stave church!
just realised my wall parts have about 55 pieces ø_Ø
So I was trying to make a butterfly pattern and what do you think of it?
oohh, looks neat. im struggling a bit with the new pieces-
I struggled with them for quite awhile. I found that measuring everything before starting the build is even more important with these stone pieces. Nothing worse than building a double arch and finding that one of the two arches is wider than the other.
love vertical bases
terraces in
farming terraces almost done
WIP workshop
looking considerably better
scaffolding going up
Foundations of fortified port
feels like a fresh sheet of paper. i love when everything is plotted out and level
And I started to get the trick of proper terraforming (after over three years of playing the game)
whats the trick
For raising ground mostly, to start raising it like one meter from the ground that is already raised.
That way the new raised section will merge more seamlessly with the previously-raised ground
I used to do it from the lower edges of the ground that I raised but that kept messing up the leveling
It also allows to have straighter cliffs
i love how janky the scaffolding can get
bro's need to work on the flatten game xD
New floors looking down to my basement smelting area
good idea putting it up there. im trying for something that looks a little more structurally believable though lol
haha
yeeea. the trick is using either the metal gratings or the new iron beams
i just wanted to build something cool
that's monumental .. i couldn't even begin to build something like that! 😄 thanks for sharing
small wooden workshop I whipped up in 1-2 hours
yoo Ive build something like this back when we only had the straw roofings, I really should get back to that and do it again with the new roofs... sadly the screenshots are lost media, as they were lost in the discord hack
A small bridge connecting two islands in my world
nice one
Some blocks still don't really fit together very well. But anyway... work in progress.
I rarely see people actually building scaffolding.
They're underrated apparently.
Despite being only for building the actual structure they still make it look good, as if it was actually being built
I need it since I don't use flying mode and the building is too large to just jump up. lol
I don’t know where this will lead, but I like the path
A nice compact crafting area with all stations + upgrades (mostly hidden behind the walls) under the Elder altar (WIP).
@viral night
#building-screenshots message
i feel the same way lol, something about it just makes the structure that much more believable
lil' farm
do you have an animal pen?
thats sick
what am i doing wrong here that is preventing this stone section from being secured?
even this is resulting in a failure of the second stone block...whats goin on here
The iron beam looks to be slightly high of the midpoint of the block, making it essentially unsupported. Anchor the iron beam to the rock a few pixels lower and the stone should be supported
the iron needs to be below the center of gravity or something?
it needs to be below the stone block to provide support to it
so it cant be embedded into it?
It can, but it's picky
actually lets talk one channel down
starting to take shape
Im debating wether or not I should keep this tower up, can I get some second opinions?
what is it for?
Its supposed to be a castle guard tower, however, I built it too wide for how tall it is, and im not happy with how it looks
It's also supposed to connect to walls, those walls having been yet to build
seems pretty wide for what it is
yeah thats why I preemptively ripped it down and am in the process of building it again
Finished my asksvin area today
progress
coming along nicely
thanks, definitely going to capture that wizards tower vibe im going for...once the lights are in and the glowing mushrooms are on the path up its going to be sick
progress...what to call this base? serpent tower? ravens roost? idk
also what should i do with the smaller lower room
love the glowing mushrooms on the staircase
bit more of an overview of the grounds
looks good dude. Dragons den? uh hugins .. lair? idk haha
I wish it was already finished to see how it looks.
looking great. planning on putting a wall around it?
Damn thats gona look good!
No plans for a wall.
Had to rebuild the entire front. I miscalculated. 😅
And I'm definitely moving that oak. Probably make a small square with it in the centre in front of the main entrance.
i'd extend it out and down and you can have another set of stairs connecting to the spiral set as well as linking floors
im like 90% happy with this portal setup but i feel like something is missing or needs to be re-arranged
tighened up the stone on them a bit
thats much better
amazing
Photo bomb of the ashlands tier fortress ive spent many hours building on our fresh dedicated server for our group. Vanilla unmodded and no devcommands but I did bring a fair amount of the resources from my private server. Still some more work to be done but I am really loving how this base is coming together.
jaw dropped
So magnificent...
where do i go from here? i was originally thinking of having just the tree farming on the left and regular crops on the right, but now i need a workshop and animal pens
see all the sand below the base in front of yr fields? you can raise all that up
Trees close to water or crops can be hazardous. I dig the build and layout though
i actually intentionally lowered all that so mobs cant climb up from behind the wall
Made an island on the top of a peninsula. Fair play
this is where its situated in the world map, so im planning on making a bridge to span to both of the major landmasses to the north and south
Rather strategically placed id say. The main build looks nice too
@cyan tapir better view of the terraces
Love this. Did you build the terraces or have a hill to work with
What an epic shot btw
Storage room expanded to add all new items also changed to ashwood and grausten
@cyan tapir started with a surprisingly good plot of land for it. hill was already there, as was the stream that kinda cut it off from the main body of land. first thing i did was raise the ground to be a little better defended so i dont have shots of it before that unfortunately, but this is basically the fresh plot before doing any interior terraforming or builds besides my shack to live out of
Working with the terrain is my* personal challenge always. I dig it. Thanks for the added perspective
i just love how it looks at night with the windows and lights
Lighting and contrast in this game are such a vibe. I find myself just enjoying the view.
Killer shot
@jaunty hamlet i meant in these areas, even though they are underwater they should be able to be raised up enough for more development and you can extend the wall if needed
i guess that could be done, i didnt really want to terraform anymore but if it comes to that ill do it. ill need more stone for a lot more raise grounds though, since i pickaxed most of the area around the shore to make it lower
i wouldn't do the whole lot, maybe just focus on an area to the left of the shot, that way yr big pillar build still has prominence on the right
well workshop first i guess, since i need one anyways. however big that needs to be to fit all the crafting benches determines how much room i have left for any kind of pen, and if i need to terraform for more space at that point, so be it
@jaunty hamlet Water raise pretty high being so close to ocean?
plus if you dont mind a little parkour it has the added benefit of allowing me to shoot these fkers up here in the stratosphere lol (hard to tell in the screenshot but there is a fuling wayyyy down there)
Sniping from spawn be like. Had to zoom in to find the lil cackler
A few pictures of my mountain base I've been working on. Something about the snow is just appealing to me.
thats nice!
@bleak merlin check this out
The portals to the bosses will be located here. Each portal has its own unique style
under construction
Other than the starter meadows looking like a Rick (and morty) silhouette(upside-down) , it does seem to have most biomes being walkable.
tbf i think ill build here
Anyone have any longhouses ideas similar to Skyrim but vanilla need some inspiration 😂
@upbeat axle either of theese? : P
Beautiful! I def am more looking for the old style wood ones i built several of the new material houses already 🥰
Another designer floor for my latest pavilion.
Elder altar chicken farm
thats so smart
yay or nay?
also just unlocked stone and we started a small harbour
that runestone placement is unfortunate lmao
I love incorporating runestones into my base designs.
Hoard much? 😉
I added a small watchtower to my little settlement 🙂
what could u build, to hide that in? lika a house or smt?
I'd love to see the structure it's in too.
workshop in action
this is one of my really old builds, I dont have any furnished images sadly, and the world is gone
workshop front
Those are all lovely! 🥰 Ty for the inspiration
Yes, this is how to play the game!
Categorise the world!!!
top level of the terrace
portal nexus on the top of the spire
modest interior, but it has all the essentials
not sure what to do with the bottom room tho...ideas? I was thinking maybe armor stand/trophy/treasure room
still need to make the wall look pretty too
actually ya gotta put the treasure near the throne so you can look bossed out while getting your resting bonus
farm is operational
Looking good
almost completely done with the base, just need to make the outer wall look proper (and maybe improve the harbor area)
and figure out what to do with the lower section of the tower although im leaning towards armor stand/trophy room now that the treasury is in the upper section
Always something to tinker on
good use of the table lol
For sure
looks perfectly fine!
I like the way you connected the roof with the walls, I'll remember that for my own stone builds
Maybe experiment with corewood on it too
Have you decided on that room yet? How about you do an armory with shields/swords on the wall and weapon racks with spears? One of each type in the game, and then some armors
That is the room near the bottom, on the way outside right? Would be fitting. You could store actual gear in a chest or two
Elder altar base entrance
Thanks, I saw the huge gap between the roof and stone and thought that would be drafty lol, so I added the wood to close it up. As far as the bottom room, yeah I'm adding armor stands and item mounts to turn it into a trophy/display room since I think that makes sense as kind of an entryway
And I already have a treasure section and cooking area in the top building, and all my crafting is in the workshop on the ground level so I'm not sure what else I would need a full room for
Anybody got screenshots of some good kitchen designs. I'm about to expand mine but would like to see how others have theirs set up.
#mods-screenshots message
search "kitchen" in the search bar or "dinner" comes up with a few

Castle garden
Kicthen design
very nice
impressive
lets see paul allens kitchen
Debug mode. No mods. Before ashlands was out
pretty compact but its got all the stuff
kitchens
Wow.. this is amazing, you are a genius for this. I always wanted some kind of boat launch, I’m going home and making this ASAP lol.
that's a great looking build
This is the first time I've seen such a structure in Valheim. It looks like a well
Very impressive creativity <3
pinging for future reference :)
Thanks, btw it works way better with the karv
I'm curious how it works with the new boat, maybe the larger gate door would help.
they are about the same as destroyed buildings/structures. on a rare occasion, you can find a chest of stuff at the bottom. My brother and I wondered if that was originally designed as a dungeons entrance...but thus far it just leads nowhere.
My kitchen. small so I would like to expand it and put all my storage in another room.
Storage warehouse built with grausten walls. Next time I play I’ll have to post picture of the outside cause it’s a storage/ workshop all in 1
Looks good though lol
Under construction : Port & Lighthouse
They need to add Grausten outside roof corners. Strange they have the inside corners but not outside.
We don't have tar yet, i plan on replacing the roofs later
organised my crafting stations all in the basement of my small Inn. 🙂
well its starting to look more like a real wall rather than a dirtpile
tytyty
Doing some of the same countertop with inset workspaces that I like in yours
ashwood walls with grausten roof the things on top are chimney's for the smelters furnace etc all benches in there too with the upgrades hid behind the wall for neatness
yeah thats why i want to remove those chests, I want that whole room to be like that
@elder tartan this is my center roof, all of them are rotting. I don't understand I don't remember having this problem.
Weird. I’m not really an expert tbh. Might be because you have the extra angled wood pieces above them? Honestly not sure
i thought things had to be adjacent to or under the roof tiles to be protected
yeah I'm not sure, I will have to troubleshoot with it I guess.
.
evil church type build i was going for, was hoping to get some new inspo/ideas for what else to put inside or outside
here's the outside too, im gonna change the crosses because orignally it was just a normal curch. i like the idea of the church worshiping the Yggdrasil tree but in a sinister way so i might play around with some woof thing and maybe try to create a tree symbol on the front
you cant even see it 💀
this should be better. i welcome any ideas at all :)
adding a little battle damage to the wall (im too lazy to fix the leveling)
i wouldnt, honestly. Tar roofs would make everything look gloomy and you won't see the roofs clearly. Thatch roofs has much lighter shade and better define your small building
rock thrown from troll?
some braziers hanging down would look good
I was actually initially gonna use braziers and torches and stuff all throughout but i changed it because i cant be bothered to keep them fuelled 😭
i did add a big hanging rib cage in the cieling though because there was a lot of space there
dwagon
newest location, and build, still very much a work in progress
dverger inspired lighthouse. first time really building with black marble
My Valheim small Norse Plain Village ; WiP ;
My current multiplayer survival worlds base progression. We are on day 164 and just killed bonemass. WIP
I'm liking it more and more as I build
progress so far think i finally have enough iron and stone to finish this platform out
vanilla
Okay.. this is an issue. I'm spending 99% of my time repairing my whole base. I always enjoyed Vanilla but please tell me there's a mod that stops this lol.
Rain shouldn’t be damaging grausten floors. Something else is happening. Not seen anyone else reporting this. Just saying I’m very curious what’s actually happening but I don’t think it’s rain
It’s been getting worse and worse. Idk if it has to do with the server I’m using or what. Maybe I’ll try shield generators all over the base idk..
Good luck
If that server is running mods, that could be the cause.
No mods, just on a dedicated server. I wonder does a stonecutter/workbench need to constantly be placed nearby in order for it to not take damage? I know it’s not a structural thing, because even stone out on the ground is being damaged
they don't. And grausten or stone don't get damaged by being out in the open.
Yeah idk I’m baffled. Must be a bug or something on the server side.
why ? you cant build much ontop ?
I finally finished my first house in my solo hard mode
What do you think
Took me 50 days chopping tree, mining the cliff, hoeing the land and fighting events
I'm really thankful for ppl in this server gave me advice about building a house
found the original picture in #building-ideas, did some research and found more images of it on google from multiple angles and ineriors. ive taken on a beast of a project. but here is the progress so far!
Sometimes I feel like I make things too hard for myself...
Got a bunch of ideas for a longhouse and finally made one in one of my worlds. 🥰🥰
Can you show me steps to make this? 😍😍😍 its beautiful
My long house sort of turned into a mansion instead....
my second most recent project, still not sure what i'm going to put here... I might do my smelters and such in this area
I'd have to put in a bit more work if I wanted to recreate it. Mostly the back legs and the body that's the most difficult. But I could try to rebuild it and take progress screenshots.
Omg that would be amazing if you could do that you created a masterpiece 😍😍 i love it 🥰
entrance portal to the portal room (yet to build the room)
What are those braziers?
Iron pit
Oh, from the new trader. I need to got those
I'll Dm you the screenshots when I get them if that's alright
Of course thank you so much i can’t wait! I added you as a friend
How did you get those pieces to do that? I try to do things like that and I can't seem to get it to work at all unless I get really creative with placing other pieces first.
Indeed, you have to place the pieces in a precise order and play on the last one which does not automatically place with the edges.
If you see them, I'll show you live how we can do it
My last project : a black marble castle in the Mistland, it took me a wile ! (start in 2023) but a lot of break and motivation spike later, it's finally (nearly) over !!
it's in early stages but my boat house is almost complete were planning on building a massive city with an insane port and river system still need to finish the wall's towers and farms within but this is 100% my biggest mega-project 100+ hours this week alone
Been a while since I posted any shots. This is all done in a default world, all materials harvested.
Finally remodeled kitchen, still need to add detail to the other side, but so far I like it.
Ashlands screenshots allowed?
I hope so.
Behold. The Cathedral of Milan!
More screens will follow later, just getting started with this build.
One more btw. lol
I forgot one.
This is the inspiration.
The new flametal gate is pretty 👌
Put flametal bars ext to it, have fun.
Tomorrow i'll showcase flametal.
This is just the start.
down to help me build on my server? you def got talent 😉
Maybe once i got finished with my current build. It will take 50+ hours to finish it.
You can PM me. 🙂
Tag me when you do if you don't mind I'd be interested to see what you got going on
No worries. 🙂
This is my idea before i go to sleep.
This is so impressive.
If i get this right, this will be straight up badass.
I just feel bad these flametal bars are not diagonal.
like moria from LOTR
This is insane to do in survival. How long did it take to build those walls out of the water
I don't want to talk about it 😅
I have 800 hours in Valheim, and 700 of those are on this world. My entire base is raised from subsurface water around a tiny plains island that consisted of one large boulder
I did something similar for a plains farm the other day and it took me like 20 hours lol. Obviously not nearly on the same scale
Still plenty to add to the bridge and incline to the unfinished Hilltop base overlooking a plains, happy with the scale of this bridge though
Reusing the Ashlands Fortress
decorating my girlfriend and I’s tavern/inn interior, got carried away with the kitchen/bar. First time applying effort towards actual detail for once
still in the mountains era but i think an oven would fit nicely in the empty wall space to the right of the hearth once unlocked
slightly worried on if the space is big enough?
cathedral/home i'm building. WIP.
first level is empty for now, but just through the door you can see a little ashwood -> leads to the eitr refinery black marble lined basement room. the 2nd story, reached by the spiral staircase from the first (empty) level) leads to a little domicile area that's teeming with goodies
and this last photo is of the little light's i'm proud of
EDIT: just noticed i'm missing a black marble pillar on the left side of this wall 😄
Getting the hang of it.
Fooling around with the lighting on the main spire too. Looks kinda good, don't you guys think?
Ok, now i turned on infinite lights in options. Behold.
Ooooo dude that looks sick!!
Thanks, i was so impressed when i changed the lighting in graphics settings. I thought the lighting far away was bad because of the sheer size of the building heh.
This is the view from the other side of the building. This is prolly the most pretty view i've ever created in Valheim.
Ok, i just fell in love with flametal bars.
ctrl+f3 to hide the HUD
Great advise! Forgot about that one.
Some screenshots without the hud.
Did i beat the game or what? lol
This is the right one, without hud.
The lighting and reflections all look so pretty . . The flametal bars are the perfect touch to tie it all together it looks amazing
It genuinely looks so beautiful 😭 if it were a real place it would be on my bucket list for a cathedral to visit
Thanks, and yes. I fell in love with flametal bars today. My inspiration is the cathedral of milan, so it really needs to look pretty lol.
Thing is, i wanted to build the cathedral of Milan, but i also wanted to make the building at least half as impressive as the real deal. Tough challenge tbh. 🙂
The last screenshot of the day. This stuff just blows my mind.
jaw dropping ❤️
Nice work. I wish the original fortresses would like like this
each piece a work of art, together a masterpiece 🤌
made this wall back in last expension 🙂 to bad our server crashed, RIP
not creative mode, just normal game
should i rebuild this with the new flametal pieces or leave it be as it is? i feel the need to push taller.
love the look of this
I think that it looks amazing! I see no reason to rebuild the entire thing with how great it already looks /gen
@tulip dove something like this if you want to stagger the build of a circle. Much easier on a flat wall than a circle, but doable.
Think of it as rotating the second layer of circle one tick.
thank you ill test it out
I can almost feel the lag
(an attempt was made 🫣 ) Gallow's End Tavern from WoW
The roof is on fire!
I think the roof is done. What do you guys think?
I said it was a WIP. added a liveable space to the top and a three tiered small garden island
Looks soo good mate congrats
How did u get that color reflecta torchs?
There's grausten pillars beneath the flametal bars. Just high enough to completely hide torches. They can be completely hidden while them still glowing up the surroundings. You can hide them in pillars by aiming at the corners of the pillar tiles.
You can see that on this screenshot, if you look well.
Thx that is amazing to know 🫶
I feel they made this possible on purpose. I just hit the jackpot discovering this. Incredible looks here.
I’m assuming you have the mod that keeps the torches lit? If not are you able to light them still with them hidden?
I use devcommands. setfuel makes it full when i want it.
Setfuel is a godsend. no mods needed, always full fuel.
I used a mod before, but no mods needed now.
Do you have to do that for each one individually?
Looks awesome. Did you make the roof with stone stairs?
Another update on how my cathedral is progressing. The interior will be a whole other task to be sure.
I'd love to have some grausten gargoyles.
In devcommands type 'freefly' to free up the camera, then ctrl+F3 to hide UI
would not consider myself a good builder by any stretch, but this ended up being a happy accident of a build
still have more landscaping to do though
Yup, they have a very nice feel for stone buildings kike that. Your cathedral also looks great man!
Nice bro
Trying out the new materials. ^_^
It was an idea, and it works, but it's a PITA due to the exacting nature of getting the spacing correct. I might be insane, but I'm not THAT insane.
This is what I'm working with so far still don't know what to do from here!
Do even numbers in length and width. Makes the roofing go easier. This is of a size that it should carry you through the first 6 biomes.
I just hate the fact that the stone pavement is NOT aligned with the other ones...(nor it can be rotated)
Thank you
Maybe not, but it is about the right size to fit within the square made by the hoe with minimal overflow. I could have been even more ridiculous and had plants making a diamond in the cultivated section.
First make make a skeleton like this. So you have an idea what you want. This was my start of the last building.
It ended up like this: #building-screenshots message
It's all about having a plan. If you don't have one, you'll fail. Plan includes the basic idea, which materials to use, the size of the building, etc. @vernal fable
What Saint said above. These days I lay out the size I want with wooden beams, then add the framework to carry the roof, and make the roof before adding walls.
If you can put up a complete roof you've "won", aka your build works. You can then add walls and windows / doors however you like.
If you do it the other way around, you may end up with a building you can't roof anymore.
Yup, i rather change the roof, than change everything because i made a mistake in planning.
whats modded? The only thing thats modded on here is making blueprints xD
plus if you dont know as most people on here fly when building go to the edge of the map its all flat xD great for creative builders sooo
Yes... That's still modded
Which is a command that is in the vanilla game
Wow you just screenshotted the tavern in wow ingame..
That is my harbor/fish house if anyone have some improvements in mind i can got ya!
(missing Northern Salmon btw)
(yes i got pufferfish, he only isnt in the sc bc he tried to Poison me while fishing It)
Some news from my roommate
Looks decent
The snow on those buildings looks beautiful . .
current build update
Very interesting way of handling a round roof. I might have to borrow that design for a balcony im building where the roof hasnt been lining up right
@prime valley round roofs with the new grausten pieces is wonky because how chunky they are and how they clip through eachother
the harbor is taking shape, its built on the end of a river going landin
wish you could do roofs like that pre-ashland
Charred citadel repurposed (in progress). All walls and doors intact, access via stairs/ramp
In progression images ( now almsot fully done) On the last picture is where i was testing hights. you can see snow on the stairs.
still working on that one
mine was very ad-hoc lol. i just threw my chickens in the same area i had my boar, and i made an ugly lox pen on the outside
which roof? the round one or the spiky home ontop the temple?
testing out Ashlands builds, quite wonky getting anything with a rounded look, but the arch pieces really lends temselves to wall decoration
side view of the "monastery"
the round one
this was a huge pain to build
and im not really happy with it
Found a cool little spot so obviously I have to build a new main base here, I call it Lyfjaberg, WIP for now 😇
work inprogress
under construction
My workshop
Wardruna fan ? Most of my places named aftr songs ^^
Am indeed and in particular that song.... I also put the Wardruna rune down into the floor..
which cross pattern is better? the outer frame will remain as core wood.
sorry for pixelated screenshot
i chose the left one
@little current where is your project/village?
i have it too somewhere, ill send a screenshot later 😉
Still workin on it, almost done
Probably one more week? And I’ll share some screenshots
....Is the tower too big?
not too big unless its supposed to be a "part of the wall" or something
Un-charred fortress finished
Lit! Survival?!
We have weird custom setup. Hard combat difficulty, no portals, no map, but free build.
Interesting I'd say hehe, gathering resources can be... IT is painful most of the times, too time-consuming. Rewarding, tho
I've done my part building castles after 5 hours of mining stone 🙂 It has its charm, but after playing with free build, I'm never going back 😄
I imagine it... I still play solo and "vanilla" ( i use some QOL from time to time) like plant everything and grid
@jaunty hamlet
@boreal hedge something like this, demo the pole after the walls are build up and or the roof is built down
What roof pieces are those?
Shingle roof o-corner 26°
@compact axle
nice
A troll almost destroyed the threes supporting my base. T ime to reinforce
little home base for me & my familia
looks great
can use few iron beams
can we just admit at this point that: ashwood and ashstone(gimsomthing) looks like an unfinished-unrandered model in any cad program :DD its sad to watch at ppl trying to buyild something good out of bad legos 😭
sees all those same people being clearly happy about those structures "made out of bad Legos
Yeah sure, they are truly suffering...
There has to be a term for people suffering on the behalf of others when those others actually don't care and are living/doing something happily
Like all the moral knights that haven't got a certain condition but rail against people that haven't got a clue what's going on.
looks like Napoli volcanic stone, they used it on buildings and streets there
no such thing a sa tower to big
Time to rebuild this thing=)
The builds here all look great. Idk what you're on about, man 💀
Maybe just leave people alone and let them be happy with what they make? Not everything revolves around you and your opinion. You not liking a new resource doesn't mean that all of the buildings made with it are horrible, and people obviously can (and do) still like it despite your opinion. Just leave people alone, dude
you got a stray dog problem
they will be pushed away easy
I think I abuse iron beam in every aspect of my building Just an example of how it is the skeleton of my building, I probably have over 1000 beams in this building
I bet that took a lot of grinding-
woah lol, bit overkill yee
Oo, what are those pale shiny blocks / bricks? They look really pretty
The buildings all look really pretty, btw. I would definitely stay at The Bramble Inn
I LOVE that lighting. The light shafts are so beautiful
and those arches are so pretty
Cozy storage
Our new storehosue. Also gets you good comfort while storing stuff!
Love how you did the money chest, I might incorporate that into one of my houses
my OCD acting up seeing not all of the floor covered with the lox carpet 😬
Thats a lot of ovens..
visualizing where i want what in the new village build, always love doing this part. Making pathways to where i want what and deciding what building for what. so far i got the kitchen building up but still need to fill in and i got the blacksmith roof on but no walls. this is a picture from the soon to be entrance
lay out so far, debating if i eventually after the village is done i can put a castle in the middle of this huge closed lake
mote on both sides because water can actually connect, pretty bare bones but im excited to whats to come. takes awhile farming all the stuff but i know we got nothing but time
first time i fee like i left myself enough room to have more building and not lag (hopefully). usually i build to much to close and it gets up to 10k instances to quick
u got a big ass lake ? lucky
yeah found a cool spot, has a pond for the base and a giant closed lake in the background
Work in progress.
How did you do the grausten inlay? like what piece is that? the archway?
The inlay is regular stone, set down a little from the marble. This is a floor for a medium build as part of a larger project.
Start of building a new house...
HELL NO, no grinding for me lol.
Grinds are really stupid imo so I enabled free building mode.
No way on earth anyone should waste their time grinding for BUILDINGS lol, that is just sad
Understandable, lmao
I've spent hours grinding for bronze and it's such a pain to make tools alone. I usually just build small wood shacks because I can't imagine doing anything else 😭
It'd be impressive maybe but time-consuming for sure
Yeah 100%
THe only thing impressive when farming for a decent - big building, is the lack of intelligence to do that 😄
Grinding wood non stop for building and the amount and all the different ones, is just braindead to farm more than the bare minimum.
it is a flaw in this game but I am glad they added world modifier.
I hate grinding in games, but it feels so much worse in Valheim -- as much as I love the game, I hate gathering resources
I love gathering and making things in most games but it's unbearable in Valheim, it gives me so much burnout 😭😭😭
Having some tamed animals be mounts or be skilled at gathering resources would definitely help
In ARK, there's often grinding, but it feels fine because with the right tame you can have plenty of resources to last in just a few seconds
Ofc they're different games but still
Anything, really, to help speed things up would be a massive help
Having a separate server with the resources turned up to 2X or 3X really takes away a lot of the grindiness on building resources. Besides, once you get to ashlands and get the battering ram it makes collecting stone and metals so much easier.
portal hub im using for mid game before starting ashlands
thanks!
Have played with the new pieces?
a bit on another server but not much yet
Everyone ive seen is building cathedrals or church like structures
I built a fortress but have incorporated the new stone in many places throughout
Has anyone else experienced damage on the horizontal pieces of the ashwood?
This seems to only happen when it rains for me so to compensate I had to use those shield generators
@latent wind
Will the boathouse get connected to water eventually?
No, its more of a Viking church for those lost at sea. it resembles a ship, broken in half
And, this is actually the build display zone, for my current research center.
thought i'd show off my cozy little starter house
ooh, nice
Made my first chandelier
I hate those lanterns cause they emit so little light to the area around them 😔
actually most light sources don't give off much light unless you're very close to them
Once I clear the tar pit... this is like... the perfect base plateau.
You should build a tavern on the pit and call it "The Tar Pit"
Example stone tower...
Hot Tub Tar Machine?
Is this wall made of ovens?)
Looks awesome anyway
Looks so good. Imagine what could have been if the latest biome update gave Grausten the textures of stone ovens 😮
not really happy with this, anyone got ideas?
It's build with mods ??
@high vigil yup
anyone got storage rooms/buildings to show
#mods-screenshots please
close enough
that's an a very idea
I was building Tudor manor, but decoration went too far))
thoughts on this design
just console the liquid away, those are annoying af to get rid of and the liquid never goes away normally
I mean... I dug it out. Just went into the ocean, so it is completely gone from the area 🤷♂️
well if it works it works, mine was either ugly or still had residual areas of liquid that would get things stuck until i consoled it out
I hope my Username checks out as a wow player but @mystic quest I'm all about that
It could use a little more lovin. But it was coming out hella nice so far! The fenris armor was sick haha. Was trying to do something low key and not too large
It definitely comes across as the dark portal and I think you did a great job, especially for a makeshift one at that.
dont consider myself a great builder but this turned out better than most of my stuff

With enough stone and Grausten, even the ashlands can be safe and cozy
Portal Room all boss
Built this on a whim, turned out a lot better than I expected if a little empty.
Built this base in the Plains around a stone monolith. Pre-Mistlands, no mods.
retiring this base and building a new one in mistlands
last sendoff of the Ravenspire
Nice, looks like Age of Empire Age progressions with the roof change and beams
Pretty! Do you have a pic of the outside too?
Thanks! Sure, but it don't finish yet right now
Looks nice and much more cosy than our industrial kitchen.
3 hearths, 2 cauldrons, 2 iron cooking stations, 5 ovens and 2 fermenters.
Solo player. So just needed it all for me.
I made it a point to try and make the upgrades look functional.
It looks very nice, streamlined for easy use but set up like a realish kitchen.
Finalized lighting.
It also passes the smoke test for being in a basement, there is enough space that the smoke disappates without needing a vent.
I did cheat in the Jack-o-Turnip 😏
Are there any chests with food?
Mead hall, vanilla survival. (W.I.P)
love it, I hope it stays open air like that. I love sitting in open air structures while it's raining outside.
Was planning on adding walls 😅, big windows though
half walls? open across the top?
village is coming along nicely i'd say
Did you use mods to place vineberries on the wall?
If I turn around. Whole wall.
once i get to a good point, i might just try building one...
Hey here's what mine are looking like. This is the back side.
Frontside
There's a couple small patches that it didn't cover, but the fruit production for the single sided ones ended up being the same as each side on the double sided ones, so it doesn't seem to bother them having each side growing.
Those look so much better than my stone walls! Going to steal this. And redo mine.
How much space do you have between the two trellis rows?
Decided a castle on the tallest mountain would be a good place to build a base 🤣
Bro this is awesome
I borrow your idea of a sword in the ground
Thx for this share
Can I get a 2nd opinion on which window looks better? I had done several as the left one but then had this experimental idea about having iron between the glass. Its kind of intriguing but may be too messy
i feel its too messy. maybe use the Iron between the panes for making window designs?
I feel like that's a good middle ground idea. Thank you
you're welcome~!
Its about 4 meters, a little less due to some weird terrain issues, but I was aiming for about 4 meters.
I replaced my stone walls with some trellis work and they're about 3m apart, so will be interesting to see how they do... Also added trellis elsewhere... One thing I noticed is that the vines seem to grow more quickly... but that could be an illusion.
Like this all grew within an in-game day or two:
That amount of growth on the stone walls took like 3-4 days at least.
And this all grew within an in-game day, I think, certainly within 2:
i know how to color and resize signs but how do you get the neon glow? Your builds are so nice
a rebuilding process
Some work in progress pics to an island for a YouTube series I'm working on.
Let me know if you'd like to see the vids, would love some ideas to add to the Castle.
I'm looking for some build ideas for a harbor, would anyone like to share a screenshot please?
No screens, but I will say check location during a storm so you can mark how high the waves will get.
Important info when planning the build.
Ya, I have a location in mind and I've already built a small harbor, but I am not 100% happy with it. So just looking for design ideas.

Found this searching "dock" . Kinda basic but functional. I have a ashlands build that has a dock as well and I believe it was used in the wiki for showing the difference in boat/ship size.
Wow that is detailed. I like the usage of the Dverger lanterns.
Ya, I like how small this is and that the ship is protected on two sides by stone.
Yall mind posting some of yalls grausten builds that showcase how to do outside corner roofs with sloped and straight pieces? Can't for life of me figure out how to make them with the available pieces? Also how to use small arch without a backer filler piece? Only way I can think of is to fancy up a perimeter wall or fences top

This has outer and inner corners, but it doesn't seem flush like the other roof types. The search feature works reasonably well if you know roughly what you wana look for.
OK so not just me. The arches to cover is pretty good idea but this build set definatly seems to be missing valuable pieces
I’ve not really done much building with Grauston yet, but I would just go with using the inner corners on the outer corners, and fill in the outer ends. If that makes sense.
Yeah I thought the wooden trellises I did seemed to grow more quickly than the stone walls I started with, but I thought it was more a function of just having more space, but maybe something with the material works differently.
Perhaps. Mine seemed to have slowed since I posted that, though. So I'm not sure.
Benches or Chairs?
It begins 🙂
While not as impressive as some of the other builds here i think i slapped together a very functional house cozy house that can last till endgame (Assuming your doing a village style base.)
I like it. You are creating new patterns with the glass. Very creative.
Looks cool, the walls sticking out especially
