It all depends on your play style. I normally stick with troll armor until I get the Fenris set, but some of my friends always craft every heavy set.

Combat proficiency recommended though no?

If you're just arrived to the swamps bronze armor has the highest armor rate that you can currently have. When you get materials in swamps you get to craft better equipment. Heavy armor with high armor rate can be good for first timers even though it slows a bit (-5% movement speed penalty per armor piece except helmets). Light armor tend to have little or no movement speed penalty, but have less armor rate. The Fenris armor mentioned is exception in light armors: it actually increases your movement speed by 3% per piece, which is why many players prefer it for a long time during the game.

There isn't right or wrong way to play though: some prefer heavy armor, some light and some mix up light and heavy.

In short, the ingame quest lets you meet Hansi, the lead singer. He asks you to help him getting his microphone back as it has been stolen by a fan. When you got it you are asked to help getting the other instruments back as well. When you've done that, you are invited to visit the final concert, which is that clip I just posted. And as a reward you also get two guitars (2h axes), a drum stick, a cymbal (sword and shield) and the microphone standard (magic staff)

The attacks have cooldowns so he can’t spam them too much. If you get in melee range there’s more attacks he can use so he’s less likely to use one that makes you move.
At 35% health he can use fissure and summoning more frequently, and at 25% he can use meteors more frequently

All in all it wouldn't surprise me if we encounter Dean Martin in the Deep North, asking to "Let it snow."
But we need to wait for the release of that biome before we're sure about that.

like i had more unlocks than him so i dropped alot of my stuff for him to pick up and he learned alot then gave me them all back

Ah you are not in black forest probably. From distance you can see different trees than in meadows.

It will contain some tougher enemies than in meadows too.

When you encounter greydwarves (not greylings), you are close.
