Me and my friend who plays on Xbox One X just bought the game, and we are having trouble joining each others server. i play on the xbox app, on PC. i saw on reddit other people are also having this issue.. we cant even see the crossplay button, thats supposed to be under "start server" and "community server". ive spent hours looking for a fix to no avail. just wondering if there is a patch in the works for this, so we dont have to refund the game. 😦

Oof, yeah. My first attempt at taming a 2 star wolf ended in failure because it wouldn't eat during the daytime and didn't start the taming process before I teleported away to get more food.

You just need 1 piece of food to start taming 🤔 just be sure the wolf actaully eats it and you have 10 minutes to get other food

Yeah, my mistake was that I thought it had started taming but couldn't tell because I wasn't about to jump in the hole with it to check the stack size of the raw boar. Left to get food for myself and BAM the wolf was gone.

do they even need to still be ACTIVELY taming to prevent despawn (i think that's what you're implying about the 10min)--I thought you JUST need to literally start any amount of taming at all, and that alone is what removes the 'flag' to despawn (even if they're 'hungry' for some period, and you leave/aren't around, where they'd otherwise despawn, having partially started taming at all stops the despawning, at least I thought)

I was also thinking both of those thoughts--on the one hand, you COULD also just re-tame too, on the other hand, specifically if you wanted to maintain the 2* power bump, that's that much more time and effort each time--so the question then becomes how worth it it is to insist on 2* versus any wolf you can find (often of course, will be no star) to build the army with, versus island hopping with a 2* pair each time (and putting in the initial work to get 2*)

Read whatever the birds tell you, keep everything you find because almost everything is useful, make a base (or find a little pre built house and take it over), make a flint spear so you can hunt animals more efficiently early on (it's secondary attack throws the spear so you can kill things that are trying to run away) make cooking stations over a campfire in order to cook food, make chests to store stuff, make a workbench, forge etc whenever they are available to you, when u think ur ready fight the Eikthyr bring 3 deer trophies to it's boss location, always explore because the world is massive and has tons of cool things all around 🙂 there is a lot more but you will figure it out on your own but this is just basic stuff

Use a bow & ur strongest melee weapon. When Fader isn't shooting down meteors or doing his spike attack right on himself, you can go up to him and melee him but don't spam attack him bc u need to dodge out of the way of his attacks. If ur using a 2h sword for example do a heavy attack then dodge & repeat until he switches attacks then run away and use bow from a distance.

Because they do not have a precise territory, they simply have area where they spawn at (can be anywhere with right conditions), from there they can follow you however long they want as long as you don't loose agrro

every "chunk" in valheim has it's own queue of monsters that will spawn.
the queue has timers so you won't get the same monster instantly respawning.
these chunks also have max limits to the number of monsters in the same chunk
