I am doing fishing, trying to get all tier 5 fish as throphis. Spent like 4 hours catching tetra, the highest fish was tier 4, for tuna i spent even more, highest is tier 3 from this last fishing session. So, with new potions, it would be really cool if we had a mead which increases fish tier spawns, similar to love potion with trolls. Its not like catching high tier fish is somehow OP, it just gives more fish at the end.

Second, the fact that fish always spawn together with another biome fish, since they usually spawn on borders of biomes (like for example ocean/black forest), you always have different fishes trying to bite. And given how the bite mechanic works, when the fish bites and need to have different baits on the hook and not only inventory, it makes the whole process more annoying and longer. Like i am trying to only get tuna, but all the time puffer fish or troll fish are trying to bait, and i am just waiting for the rng to hit the tuna instead of other fish which i cant even catch since its another bait.

boat catching is the way, while you drive the boat, you just drag a 3-1m line very slowly. Fish hooks automatically usually since your movement is enough for the hook and then you only need to pull in a bit of line and trying to grab the fish by hand

this way you can also catch more fishes per bait, since you grab them most of the time and dont need to cast the rod again

it just feels kinda lame how trawling is the only decent option and casting the line any distance beyond the absolute minimum makes landing a fish almost impossible

FWIW, the new M4 MacBook Pros are excellent gaming laptops (if you find a game with native Metal 2 support). I can run Valheim in unscaled/native UHD with graphics tab maxed out and get 55 fps in a 6k instances home with several light sources..

I'll hazard a guess that you mean that is IGs definition on 1.0. In software development as a whole 1.0 generally means that the product has all (originally) intended features and is ready to ship as a general release, not necessarily a finished product. This has since shifted since the advent of reliable internet connections everywhere so for people to expect software to live on beyond 1.0 is nothing out of the ordinary these days, I'd even say it's the new normal.

Iirc correctly IG has said (more so Smiffe) that come 1.0, major changes to early biomes, mechanics of existing mobs/biomes won't be added upon or changed drastically. Only exception to that would be if there's bugs which need to be addressed.

It's unknown what Irongate's moves are come 1.0 outside of bug fixes. But time will tell.

In short, 1.0 is said to be the final stage of the game in which major updates/changes/systems won't be added afterwards.

oh i'd be happy if they were nerfed directly.
the best way to go about it imo would be to remove the damage increase with levels.
they already massively gain firerate, which translates to higher damage, and then they get the same damage boost that every other weapon gets on top of that, no weapon benefits from high levels as much as bows do.

same thing goes for stamina cost.
most things have a burst stamina cost, so the 33% cost reduction is very plainly 33%. but for bows it's 33% per tick that it drains your stamina, and since your draw speed is increased, you spend less time drawing, so it's effectively way more than 33%

I didn't even know how strong they were, I killed a golem yesterday with 65 bow skill and obsidian arrows, maxed Draugr Fang (also have Huntsmen with me) This is my first bow only playthrough of the game and the only other weapon I have used are 2H hammers, I don't think overall bow needs a lot of nefing, you need to farm a lot for arrows if you want to use anything else than wood arrows, and that balances it somewhat. Getting skills higher is also easier with bow as you die a lot less, overall its strong but personally I like it where it is. Other weapons are still great as well like swords and atgeirs and spears.

Hello everyone, i have a question for the more advanced player or any game developer of this game : i got a rly old world gen seed with like a lot of build on it (since waaay before Misland update) and i noticed that before i got curious and explored some part of the biome (Mistland, Ashland and great North) that wasn't made yet, and after the update they were some word generation bug and all the part that were explore before fail to terrafrom correctly and where mostly empty... I know that's an known issue, but i'm worrying for deep north update because i even build some house there and explore more than the other, in addition i'm currently building in the Ashland and some empty part rly bother me and i wanted to know if there is a way to '"recreate myself" the map placing tree and all to make it less empty, I know some of the basic command to place things but not everything, so i was looking for someone to help me with this ! thanks !

Well, you cant really fix it unfortunately, stuff explored before the updates were released will simply stay that way, there is no command to restore the already generated parts, you could probably spawn the trees and structures in yourself one by one but it will most likely not really feel like the natural generation

There is a MOD if you are on PC. I think "Upgrade World" which allows you to regenerate specific areas of your old world to match the new content, essentially fixing any inconsistencies caused by updates.

That's a shame because there is currently no legit solution for the problem I have mentioned, I real life my job is UX/UI designer (user interface and user experience) my job is to optimize the user experience of a Website, the reaction I had with all the people in this chat confuse me a lot, I often do beta test and I'm always open to the feedback of ppl expressing difficulties with features, imaging if I tell them : "you weren't supposed to go to that part of the website, it's your fault" well I wouldn't last long and lose my job... my point, is that I understand perfectly what a beta is for, but allowing this kind of reaction isn't professional at all, exploring is a great feature of this game it's a shame that it cause the generated area to be empty even after an update... that's how I see it, I say it with all due respect 🙏

• A barrier tho prevent players from going into biomes not completed yet
• Just deleting everything a player has done in biomes that is'nt completed yet for the sake of content update

One would be removed by mods most likely and the other one would cause rage in players as communicating with 13 million people is basicly impossible

There is no perfect solution either to solve all and any issue

Early access is made to have issues I know that, that's why I say that I don't judge the dev, I judging the reaction to the feedback.

ok but heres the problem, this isnt a linear preset world, its random gen and mixed, theres no reasonable way to set up barriers that wouldnt cause more grief then not. if its removed from the game entirely then people would be completely forced to start a new world, yet you keep coming back to the devs should be time and effort intoi backgenerating peoples wips

sure modders can do that, but modders arent building the big picture, its cool, it might be a good idea to see if those people want a job, but its not the same as designing the game itself

So the goal of the dev is to make the legit part of game as user friendly as possible right ? So when there is an open test such as now, when ppl with a legit feature have an issue, instead of saying that's the user fault, should find a way to fix it, it's only logical

this may not aline with ANYONES ideas but their own, but that dream is what drives good games. The role the community plays in this is to provide ideas the devs may not have thought of that can refine their vision. but that is still dependant on how it meets the dream

i would DRASTICALLY prefer an eclectic mess i have to learn like "Rogue Trader" to an impossible to fuck up game

Nah of course not, but regeneration of certain areas of the maps to apply new update is possible
