Do you understand that you need to decompile the game and look at the code AFTER it's been rammed through the assembler that mangles just about every line of code? Modders don't have the source code, if you don't have the source code, you cannot and should not develop anything for the actual game

I also disagree a lot of the logic is reusable, that situation would be quite rare. If someone made a mod that fixed a bug, it could have been by skipping the core issue or applying a band aid. Stopping something from being null at the end of the pipeline is not the same as correcting a critical oversight. It depends on if the dev knows what the issue is or not.

One thing that always helps me with learning a new language is just watching movies/shows in that language with subs, it's a good way to learn ^^

That said, protip for those that know English very well (as a secondary language) and want to use Duolingo to learn another language: do yourself a favor and do the English course for your target language, instead of starting from your native language's.

ranged parry doesn't like, violate physics though. it's possible - just incredibly, almost impossibly difficult for real-world humans. there are people who can nowadays but it's more a show than a practical skill. that said if you get enough practice you'd be able to move your shield/weapon before the projectile was shot because you'd be able to predict the rough trajectory and speed, the trick is just getting that practice without becoming one with the projectile a few hundred or thousand times
unless you're talking specifically about valheim's ranged parry which stumbles the attacker from like 10 metres away which does violate physics but tbh, I'd always put this down to the attacker being shocked that we actually pulled off the parry, like it's such an awesome move the draugr is all "NANI?!" before catching a spear to the face

i think it's very realistic to have an attacker stunned by the fact that you deflected a projectile travelling too fast for your eyes to follow it
if i shot an arrow at someone and they cut it out of midair fractions of a second before it hit them you better believe I'd stand there dumbfounded as they ran up on me and sent me to the valkyries

I'd suggest looking broader than high fantasy. There are some amazing TTRPG systems in cyberpunk, gothic horror, folk horror, low fantasy, and a whole bunch of generic systems that you can build a world around.

Well, it's low fantasy for sure. GURPS might be an option. There's no shame in curtailing the influence of magic in a D&D campaign either.

I tried adding that functionality, it always broke after the first zoom in. Sadly the laptop I had visual studio on died and I lost the login as well, so haven't done any coding in years (it was an account I had during my college courses).
Also never got to expand on it any further because of it.
