but yea, I get you on power sprint. I had assumed the rework of sentinel was an intended baseline (or near) of how things are wanted.

and yea, I get the drive to push for more content, but if these are the numbers then letting this tech debt go when it is the core gameplay and 3/5ths of the options of said gameplay sounds/feels like buying paint for a car that still needs body work

Question is profane oblation casted by the death knights or the acolyte? I've noticed minion damage and death knight damage increases doesn't scale profane oblation but when I put on necrotic damage or spell damage it scales it and the skill itself has no minion tag to it. So is it supposed to scale off minion damage and death knight damage but someone missed it on tagging it minion skill?

The animation/effect on poison flask when you increase the aoe using passives and items is it not supposed to visibly increase is that working as intended? Even at 120% increase it literally looks the same and is small af specially compariable to most other aoe attacks in the entire game - just curious

Hi, I've tested with maxing out the node in the tree + armor that gives me 30% more - theres NO difference. I understand how it works. You lob a flask and it makes a mark on the ground, that mark is not increasing at all with points or percentage increase. increased AREA OF EFFECT does infact suggest that the area would increase - in visibility and noticablity but it's NOT. Hence me asking. It's still not killing consistently as an example a pack of 7 humanoid sized monsters. My damage is WAAAY above and will maybe 1 in 7 hit all of them if they are somehow packed on top of each other. It's the smallest area of effect skill I've used in the game and on top of that it seems to be bugged. Increasing the same percentage on Cinderstrike you notice a large difference visably and effectively. So increasing area of effect should work the same across the board. Base + increase = larger but it's not. ( Happy for any dev to join me in game to see but i feel they have the ability to check this ) so once again - is this as intended or should i post in the bug forums.

Is there a chance that rogue skills such as Detonate arrow, Dancing strikes and lethal mirage will recieve some love in s3, on leaderboard first 2 are less than 1% of rogue players use and last one is like 3%

I noticed that some voice lines in the game are strangely soft. for example, greeting lines from generic NPCs like Roland in the Outcast camp are so soft that i cannot hear what they are saying. at the same volume, i can hear my rogue's voice lines perfectly, and the same goes for Exiled Mages. Nama from the Merchant Guild sounds perfect, but Galila from COF is largely inaudible. Meanwhile, Aberroth sounds like he's mumbling something underwater during the cutscene where he walks down from the altar.

why are the voice line volumes so inconsistent? some are perfect, but a lot of them are too soft relative to other voice lines

Good day, I'm from Russia, in the last few years we have been fighting hard against "incorrect" information, blocking large VPNs and technologies like Cloudflare, because of this some sites do not work without a VPN. For about a year now I have been playing Last Epoch only with a VPN, without it, when entering the game, there is error 62, even if I enter with a VPN and then turn it off, the game disconnects again. Today it is especially unpleasant to play with a high ping because of the VPN.
Are there any tips on how to make the game work without a VPN? Maybe write something in the HOSTS or something else?

lads i just reported an imprint bug for plague dragons tongue not dropping in a day++ of imprinting when other items i tested + jewelry was, all other spears were. I reported it as a bug and sent it, literally less than 5 mins later 8 of them dropped at once lol... either you're the quickest working bros ever or mad coincidence - either way not sure how to UN-report a bug

Weirdest case this season - I own my own business so I pretty much play from 7am til 10pm most days taking food and gym breaks and yeah every other imprint based on time/echos completed inc champs/mages etc sometimes ya know an hour or two but never ever had I seen all these "similar" uniques drop consistently as imprints for over a day and a half.. insane during that time I swapped it out and the other item dropped within 30 mins, the amulet I had was and still is dropping and then yeah, lol I dunno felt very bug like vs just unlucky rng. Either way happy as a kitten since one that dropped was an lp3 ;D

would it be possible to get some numbers on how empowering a nemesis works? as far as i can tell, it has a chance to add LP to the item based on the item's LP level (rarer = harder to get LP) and if it fails, then it adds a random legendary affix (unless the item was already empowered once and received LP, then it does nothing), but i do not know for sure.

You can, but you'd need to get it in 2 steps, the first empower can only give up to 3 lp, and then the second can bring it to 4. It's max 3 per empower so even if the first only gives you 1 lp the second can bring it to 4

Hi - if you convert a skill like rive from phys to void - and say on your weapon you have 30 void melee and 30 phys melee, surely that melee converts to void? (since I think it does I'm guessing it doesnt?) I know it says it no long scales with physical but also doesnt converting mean it changes or am I missing something 😄

But note that even if a skill only has the void tag, you can still deal other damage types with it via flat added damage. So the 30 physical melee damage would still work, it would just still be physical

I got my first lp1 in nem - sigeon reprisal went to lp3 on first empower then 4 on second @crude plover ah ok so the void stacks up and the melee stays seperate i still dont know what this means to overall hit numbers ya know lol but i had this level 15 axe i slammed with t7 melee phy, t6 melee void, t6 stun cos i had nothing else to put on it so was thinking of a new random build using it shrug thanks! 😄

Good morning I was a bit curious on the choice of having no havoc or redemption prophecies. If I remember correctly part of that decision was aligned with there is no way for merchant faction to gain them easily. If I’m remembering correctly did this choice factor in lightless arbour and the fact you can “ basically buy” the runes for gold. With the way the system works you can “easily” fund millions of gold if not billions depending on situation and just farm lightless. The fact that merchant guild players can do this is not an issue to me, the issue I have is if CoF players were limited because of the MG players.

Im using Nucleus-COOP APP to play games that have online to run SplitScreen on one monitor/one pc with my GF. We have ONE PC and it already works in path of exile 1 (as it allow 2 instances and works since 2023 with no issues), elden ring, borderlands and so on

it simply run two instances, lock input devices to game instance and resize window.

or any official couch-coop support in future? like in poe2.

I have a feeling that this is something that will unintentionally not work. Like we just didn't account for the situation. I think because you can only be logged in to one steam account per pc at a time, this just won't work without some sort of OS virtualization.

We are hoping to go to console at some point and I could see couch coop being something that gets developed for that eventually. It's a pretty big project and we've got our hands full with some other big projects at the moment.

There are work-arounds to run 2 instances of the game in handlers for the Nucleus for games on steam that are safe and trustworthy but those workarounds are not always working in fully server-side games. Just eula of a online game need to accept the 2 instances of the game and being able to log to separate accounts if game doesn't allow logging for 2 characters in the same time - which i think last epoch didn't support? but supported before as off-steam launcher is not functional and there's no "relog" in steam, im right? Now we are fully on steam without the not-steam launcher?
Can you guys consider spending 1-2 hours of thinking about if it will be viable for Last Epoch to be able split-screened on one pc with two intances via nucleus somehow? to Just opening the "door" and community from nucleus will do the rest. Maybe just beside full-offline and account wide - making switch to lan? all what i want is just playing with my beloved person, but she is not a gamer and will not spent on a pc- but we loves to play together. And it's simply this games are playable together or not.

and please dont be "this one company" that create couch coop only for console - make it for all platforms if you do. it's myth that console players play more couch-coop games.

If we were to do couch coop, I don't think it would be console only as the hard part is the UI and the input splitting. If we had that set up, it would be mostly the same to implement it on PC too.

I really don't think our current setup will work with 2 instances running at the same time because of how integrated it is with steam. I have no idea if there are any eula conflicts at the moment. Would probably have to contact support directly to find out that one. I doubt it though. It's more just that we don't have the support for it.

The stand alone client was removed before we even had a working multiplayer release.

I'm sorry, we are not interested in creating a LAN mode at this time.

I know it's frustrating, we just don't have a great option for this at this time.

Snapshotting is an unfortunate side effect of how the minion system is set up. I wouldn't call it a bug because the code is doing exactly what it is designed to do. It is functionality that we really dislike and fully intend to remove as soon as we can.

Since i have no work this weekend, ill try to make some more well thought-out ideas, at least as well-thought as kinda new player can make, but i was talking with some people in ask channel few days ago, and i had idea for a goldsink to battle inflation.
To feel good, gold sink should not be a punishment for something, like equipment breaking and then repair cost that other mmos do is bad, because its tedious and annoying. It needs to be something that people are happy to pay for, but what also doesnt put more items on market.

What do you think about a paid token, or function to pay gold straight from echo tree in the same mechanic as paying gold for respeccing passives, but to re-try echo that you died in with full rewards?

I feel this might feel good, because its not something mandatory to do, and is a reward bought with gold that is mostly QOL and time-saver, since you dont need to go around with echo trees, so doesnt have much affect on economy.
Cost would be dependant on corruption level with a scale that makes high-end players that already multiple items worth gold-cap, spend even a lot of gold for that, because they dont know what to do with gold.

If i was someone sitting at gold-cap, id pay even a million or more to re-try failed echoes, or 10 million for woven echoes.
Another gold sink could be paid rerolling echo modifiers to random different one

I think those mechanics are a good thing for naturally balancing the gold inflations, since its not mandatory, but very handy QOL, which means that players will naturally spend gold on that constantly as long as gold value is low, and stop when they feel that its not worth it.
So kinda auto-correcting inflation fail-safe xd

What are your thoughts?

Slamming legendarys still remains one of my least favorite mechanics because missing a 2 lp slam feels really bad. Even worse than missing a 1 lp slam back in the days (because the +2lp unique beeing much rarer and the good exalt beeing much harder to make). Is there a chance we get 2 guaranteed slams or a significant increase in critical success chance (~100 slams im and still none)?

I can even see a situation where the player has more control. Either choose up to 2 guaranteed slams with 0% crit chance or go full random with an actual 10% crit chance (without the need for the legendary to roll more LP)

Its mostly the thoughts after a discussion i had with some more experienced players on general i think few days ago, where current state of affairs where after month into league even not super high end items start to go for gold-cap, is the lack of bigger gold sink.
And the biggest problem with creating one is that it should not be annoying xd
And the other one, is that it should naturally correct market, so the players will spend gold on it when they feel gold is worth too little.

As you said, COF is not a problem for inflation, because they cannot sell items, so cof players paying for that would not change anything, but on the other hand, would probably not hurt them either, since thay dont have much things to spend gold on anyway xD

But to make some actual proposition, i`ll have a talk with some veteran players that were here since start of launch and ask did prices and inflation change in weeks after launch, then i will come back with more math xD

What do you think about the current state of Armor vs Health? From rough calculations, I seem to be getting the same amount of Physical Hit EHP from slamming Armor vs Health, but the former is a lot less effective against other elements, and does nothing against DoT by itself. And since leech being so strong means we can basically heal any amount of health loss almost instantly, there seems to be few incentive in investing in Armor.

If you're getting the same amount of ehp from both then you should go health. But that won't always be the case, it all depends on how much of each you already have. Depending on class and build armour affixes can be very worthwhile and give more ehp than an equivalent hp affix.

This isn't to say that the numbers are perfectly balanced, but they're not so unbalanced that hp is always the correct choice, so it's kinda anecdotal.

it doesnt sound right, you invest two points, you get all negatives, without any benefits (for 2 points) -> no longer health decay, 1 shade max, recives more dmg AND poison
my guess was lone watcher -> no health decay, more dmg, 1 shade + pact = no poisoning

i mean its cool for the dummy since with 999 stacks it triggers the flesh harvest.... for everything else its just .. meh?

that said, if you mean both affixes being the ones you want, you can do that by checking "with at least 2 affixes" in the little box where you pick affixes

when deciding loot tables do you consider the balance between full clear builds vs objective rush builds? currently with the way that amber is farm it feels like if ur not running a big aoe clear skill ur being punished really heavily by being pushed towards clearing large amounts of the maps to farm amber with the various methods

Hi team - if you're gaining storm stacks via weapon source and you're using a melee attack that ISNT gathering storm i understand speccing into stacks is beneficial but would the thunderous strikes tree with lightning pen for GS attacks apply to the attack gaining storm stacks as storm stacks is part of GS? (sorry if thats confusing hope it makes sense)

Good evening i have a question about storm bolt. Currently I'm try to make a build that converts storm bolt into cold in gathering storm tree, and then summon bolts from maelstrom. the said maelstrom is being cast upon my totem, and i just want to make sure that the storm bolts stats are based off of my player relevant stats for cold storm bolt.

Additionally, in the gathering storm tree there is a node called "tempest weapon" which states gathering storm gets spell damage based off of relevant melee damage flat. there is also a note that the storm totem only gets 50% of this effect if you take storm totems node "unmatched storm". as this node in storm totem converts its attack to storm bolt does that mean that this node (tempest weapon) in gathering storms tree boost the storm bolts damage.

1st part i just wanted to make sure as the maelstrom is attaching to the totem nothing "wonkey" was happening. And for 2nd part i ask because some node specifically state gathering storm and/or storm bolt in gathering storms tree and others will just mention gathering storm. The node "tempest weapon" is one of the ones that only mention gathering storms directly.

Second question - Umjol's Guidance in Swipe will NOT let me put 5/5 into it, only 4/5 - it flashes red and refuses, I've tried adding points around it and they work, points anywhere in the tree work. I've tried to relog and restart steam. I've reported it as a bug but curious if there's something I'm missing, pressing alt doesn't bring up any pre-req's for it to have 5/5. It's very frustrating as my entire build is built round 100% lightning conversion, lol.

we figured it out, thorn slinger was giving swipe +1 but at 5 points it loses the phys tag, losing the +1 which unallocated the fifth point, giving the phys tag and thus the +1 back making it look like the game was automatically unspeccing the point (it kinda was but it's not a bug).

funny coincidence that the point it unallocates is the same one causing it to lose the tag ^^

Reposting this - Hi team - if you're gaining storm stacks via weapon source and you're using a melee attack that ISNT gathering storm i understand speccing into stacks is beneficial but would the thunderous strikes tree with lightning pen for GS attacks apply to the attack gaining storm stacks as storm stacks is part of GS? (sorry if thats confusing hope it makes sense) I feel the answer will be no but just checking as it'll change a few points in tree x

If you have 126% phys pen with bleed as an affix and then use gloves that convert all bleed sources to ignite does that stat change to 126% ignite pen? Good morning, i had a question about a specific sentinel idol prefix. Currently on a grand solar idol you can get flat lightning damage added to hammer throw. This affix made me wonder was there ever a time when hammer throw had a lightning version. Then there was a change and that affix got forgotten about. Or was there a plan to incorporate some form of lightning throwing hammers that never happened.

The reason i bring this up is skill specific affix's on idols are "rare" and usually they fit inline with some type of build or playstyle. Where as this prefix and the way damage conversions work and the way the skill tree works just seems out of place. I'm sure you could find a way to make it work by doing some form of lightning hammer paladin, but to me it would be a reach at best. So to clarify as i got off track a bit, i guess basically was there ever a plan to make lightning hammers a thing.

Additionally, i just want to give a big high five to the imprint system. As it has provide me with an indirect (semi-controled) "chase system". im a daily LE player and depending how you look at it you could say i play "too much". That being said to keep my enjoyment while playing i need a "chase target" and imprints have provided that. So hats off to whoever came up with it, overall amazing feature that both helps casual and daily players.

Mike, if you are able to put a weapon in the offhand slot, does that mean that you'd always be able to dw 2 of it or do the dw passives work in a sneaky way by actually enabling specific combinations? If it were the latter then you could allow maces in the offhand but not at the same time as maces in the main hand so you could use a sword/mace axe/mace. I'm assuming it doesn't work like this & that it just enables specific weapon types to be put in the offhand.

Hello quick question about prophecies, i know its been asked before but i forget the answer and just need an official confirm from a dev as global chat is making me question my knowledge. For unique items dropped from prophecies the amount of LP they roll does not care about corruption amount. If correct that means when a unique drops from a prophecy it has the same chance of being 4lp in 100 corruption as it would if in 7,000 corruption correct?.

attack speed isn't a binary event. You don't attack fast or slow, you attack along a spectrum of speeds. Same as movement speed, you don't move fast or slow, you have a wide range of speeds. Also cooldown recovery speed.

Glyph of Despair (changed): Reduce affix by one tier, chance to seal tier 1 affix remains. Removing a tier costs 1.5x FP.

And possibly critical removal of a tier similar to critical success. Really lean into the 'despair' vibe 🥲

This would make it too strong. Being able to reduce an affixes tier might not sound super useful but for high end crafting it would be invaluable as the only way we have to reduce tiers currently is by hitting a completely random removal to completely remove the affix, even at 1.5x cost it'd reduce the risk of using despairs substantially.

hello i had a question about damage conversion with "chance to inflict (x)". is dmg conversion the same as dmg taken conversion and you can only convert once. an example is being a warlock and using the uni gloves "maehlin's hubris" and combining with chaos bolts and the skill tree node "call of morditas". with this given case if i add bleed chance to say a chest , will that bleed chance then be converted to ignite from gloves then converted to frostbite from skill tree node.

Additionally does this convert all bleed chance types as in; generic bleed chance/bleed on hit/ bleed on physical skill hit. or is it a case of only general bleed chance.

Alright I've found the bug and how to reciprocate it.

The clock is shown when Minimap is shown
The clock is hidden when overlay map is shown

When the overlay map is shown, the clock is also not updating.

When the overlay map is disabled (to see minimap+clock) it takes a few seconds, then the clock refreshes - However, if you enable Overlay Map before the clock refresh, then it's never refreshed.

I'd imagine it's coded like this:

Clock is programmed to re-initialize everytime it's shown, rather than always being active.

In the initialization, it's coded to check the system time

However, it's coded to be deactivated when it's not visible, rather than "always" on?

This means, if you play with Overlay map all the time - And you briefly show minimap to look at the time, and you tab again into overlay map before it initalizes the system-time check, it'll never update omegalul

Is there a rework planned for affix tiers behind the scenes? I just had a T4 9 vitality roll upgrade to 11 with a glyph of order instead of 12 (top to top). The only way this is possible is if it was a 50-66% roll resulting in 9 (8-9), and 11 (10-12). I know it shows the result at the bottom, but I hit it thinking I had a top roll. This hidden percentile roll is deceptive.

It'll convert twice, the item will convert all your bleed chance to ignite chance. Hence your character will have 0% bleed chance and whatever bleed chance they would have gets added to your ignite chance.

When you cast the skill it'll just look at your ignite chance and convert that to frostbite, it doesn't know where that ignite chance came from. The skill conversion will convert anything that would apply to that skill. The gloves will only convert generic chance afaik.

Good morning, i had a question about damage reflected which can be found thought the affix labeled "reflective" within the skill shards. Of which adds the player stats of (x)% - (x)% damage reflected. When you add this affix to your gear, which reflect amount is it increasing. Does it apply to all damage that the player reflects or it applied to just specific player reflect stats (mention player as i believe this does not help minions). A few examples of different reflect types are; flat damage reflected to attackers from the affix "thorny", percent damage taken reflected via ring of shields node "shield spike" (i think that's minion but mention is as example of % taken as i cant think of another).

Additionally would this stat also increase the amount of reflect damage you take from negative gear stats. Of which can be found on the unique gloves "Grasp of the Blood Mage" where the unique mod reads "250% of Mana Spent Reflected to you as Damage".

Also as i don't want to spam this channel with a thank you every time there's an answer replied. Thanks for the help/reply for this and all future ones, and thank you cyborgwars yesterday for the answer.

Unless two stats are identical they pretty much never add together. You'd need another source of specifically:

"While you have more than 10% of your maximum health as delayed damage, damage to health below your endurance threshold is reduced by x%".

Although since the stat on the gloves is a unique property and not an affix or something; the stat it gives under the hood is probably called something different, which is what you'd need a different source of for them to add up.

An example would be having less damage taken while on low life and less damage taken while moving. They won't add up and will just be independent multipliers for your damage taken.

Several skills with conversion has a line that says xx type of DoT from all sources are converted to yy DoT and "effects related to xx DoT now depends on yy DoT instead". Does this effect relating to the new DoT apply to all effects from all sources, as long as the DoT is applied from that skill?

For example, Javelin has a node that says "Ignite and bleed chance from all sources is converted to Electrify for Javelin and effects related to bleed or ignite now depend on Electrify instead." Would Electrify applied from Javelin then benefit from the "added Critical Strike Multiplier Converted to Physical Penetration with Bleed" effect of the Salt the Wound gloves, or "Fire Penetration with Ignite" from Burning Avarice gloves?

Do you have Fury and Fortune allocated in the Weaver Tree? That gives them all Enraged, which gives 60% increased attack and cast speed and 35% increased movement speed. If yes to Fury and Fortune and if you're finding them too challenging, you may want to temporarily unspec that Weaver tree node. I had to on my alt for a while.

There's a lot of different champions, modifiers, and abilities, so if there's specific ones (or combos) you feel aren't providing adequate opportunity for counterplay, mentioning which specific ones in #1210281911872786482 is very helpful.

e.g. the laser attack was something that was specifically called out by the community that led to a closer look and then to a fix for it dealing way too much damage and being a DoT that acted like a hit.

Short answer is yes, longer answer is each skill has different engage ranges and whatnot but usually if they have a valid target yeah they'll use their cooldown skills as soon as they are physically able (and just to be clear, this is for skills that your minion has, not companion abilities which need to be either directly triggered by you pressing the button or triggered in some other way)

Hey Mike. I saw people suggesting to pop their Runes prophecies in Tombs and Cemeteries to get more Havoc runes out of them. I clearly understand where this comes from, as Tombs/Cemeteries have appearently a better chance to drop Havocs and Redemtions.
But from all that we know about prophecies, something tells me that this is not how prophecies usually work.

So in short: Will completing a generic rune prophecy in a Tomb or Cemetery lead to more Havoc/Redemtion in average?

I'll be honest: depending on if they add in more ways to get passive points or not (depending on the current layout & the teams creative vision at hand.) would depend on the direction going forward. Maybe a few more will make the rounds in the story leading up to the eventual confrontation of apophis post-chapter 9, & eventually, orobyss.

But for now, I would temper expectations. And if needed, also request it in the #1210281911872786482 in a constructive manner & see if it resonates with enough of the community.

are there any plans to update/rework the prophecy system? i currently spend too much time rerolling prophecies, especially for an ARPG. im using lenses to try and target farm unique body armors in monoliths with the double rewards lenses and i spend so much time rerolling trying to get unique body armor prophecies...at least 5 minutes just sitting there spamming rerolls to get a big batch of prophecies using, for example, 100k favor (since you need to filter out a lot of junk prophecies). I feel like im forced to play a tedious minigame before i can go back to the monoliths and kill stuff.

having to use a lens to remove non-monolith prophecies also feels like a tax, since there is currently no reason to trigger prophecies outside of a monolith as you want the corruption bonus to kick in. in particular, you do not want to waste favor triggering prophecies in low level campaign maps. the whole system just feels really clunky and could use a QOL update currently.

There are constant plans to make the game better. Devs have heard some of the pain points on cof (mike actually talked about some of this on yesterdays devs stream). Are there talks and plans? yes. Is it coming in s3? No one knows. Devs wont spoil s3.

Good afternoon, I had a question about non direct skill proc’s and skill cooldown. I’m curious if a skill has a built in cooldown or an added cooldown from a skill/item/passive are indirect casts supposed to abide by the cool down timer. I’ve come across situations where some times indirect casts ignore the cd and I’ve also come across situations where they follow it. I believe in the past some indirect skill proc’s in game have been classified as bugged and were eventually patched. The reason I ask this is I’m trying to make my own build of a void shield throw forge guard, using the unique shield “sigeon’s reprisal” as the base for the build. And a “issue” arises with build idea and the uni mod “(25% to 35%) Chance to retaliate with Shield Throw on Block (up to 2 times per second)” and the shield throw node “siege breaker” which says “Shield Throw deals more damage (multiplicative with other modifiers), but Shield Throw has a longer cooldown.”. And currently the cool down from node prevents indirect shield throws. Just curious if that’s as intended.

Normally only stats gets passed on to sub-skills, more unique properties usually don't.

For example the ice spikes in shatter strike don't get the recasts from the whiteout node. You still shoot them 3 times but if they got the recasts you'd shoot them 9 times total

Yeah, I think i imagine this being how it goes. I imagine the system was designed with target farming in mind, but the emergent behavior being to just get triple t7s or whatever. I wouldn't expect designers to anticipate how this interacts with the nemesis system. Not to mention new redemption and havoc runes. Unless yall are geniuses. On its face it seems like a system to target certain affixes (for exalteds), but thats not what the community has landed on as the most efficient use.

Don't think you can send screenshots in the suggestion channels. And regardless 6000 characters would be 3 normal full limit messages which in my opinion sounds like too much information.

They've stated in the past that the best suggestions are concise and to the point, giving essential information without too many un-essential details. I'd try to bring it down to below 4000 at least and send it in two messages instead. Not so much because it'd be spam but because it'll most likely get glossed over if it's too long.

I don't know how to describe it but there is a point of diminishing returns on the detail of a suggestion. It's almost like the overall quality of a suggestion is pegged at the lowest point of that suggestion. I often find myself much more interested in the 2-3 sentence suggestions. The big essays can have good ideas in them but more often than I would like, there is some small issue right at the start which makes the entire rest of the post irrelevant.

I think the big suggestion essays are often attempting to solve a very specific issue and the posts which just outline the issue with "when x happens, I feel y" are much more effective at communicating where the fix needs to happen.

I remember suggesting that one be reworded but I can't remember which one that was. In general, if you're over the character limit of a single discord post, go to the web forums instead and I would suggest attempting to trim 50% of the post.

I'll almost never discourage people from exploring ideas but the chances of us adding a new damage type are so small that I would urge you to focus on highlighting a very clear problem that necessitates a new damage type being created as the only possible solution rather than what that new damage type could look like.

An incredibly cool new damage type would not be added because it's cool. There would need to be a systemic problem that it was solving. Of which I can't think of any.

Gotta say I've enjoyed dungeons a lot more as of late. Having generally good items available as boss drops makes it more fun for me to farm them and the addition of guaranteeing 1 affix for slamming has made Temporal Sanctum (almost) always be a positive experience so things are definitely moving in the right direction for dungeons. A big overhaul doesn't feel that needed personally but always room for smaller tweaks

If it is a single line item that says "global damage to shocked or ignited: 4%", this is 4% more damage if the target is shocked and ignited, correct? Whereas "Shatter Nova" node in elemental nova, which gives 10% more damage in 4 separate line items with separate conditions, those are all separately applied, for a bonus of up to 1.1^4-1 more damage, right?

Mike, I'm curious about your thoughts from a design point of view - Do you see it as a problem in itemization when an item like Orian's Descent is being used by most mages just for the +25 int? At first glance, it's a belt for VR, but effects like +25 int make it the best option for most mages (and other classes too, probably). In principle, I agree. But I don't think this is currently an interesting decision. +25 int is better than every other unique belt in the game for essentially any type of mage. For most builds, this is true by a wide margin. Grain of salt, I'm no expert. But I haven't built a mage that made any other choice

Technically it is but practically it wouldn't be considered snapshotting. The issue with minion snapshotting is that they keep the benefits far longer than the stats duration, whether you swap out gear or give them the stats of a temporary buff permanently. There's a clear difference between benefitting a few attacks by using a 5 second buff and no longer being able to benefit attacks with it after it falls off and having a minion benefit from the same 5 second buff for entire fights or sessions without it ever dropping off.

Basically the only "snapshotting" that exists for normal attacks and spells is when you have like 0.1 seconds left of a buff, and you use a skill before it falls off but the skill lands after it falls off. Which is an incredibly niche and inconsequential consequence of the system.

Changes to the quality of the game is very broad. Builds that can reliably and smoothly farm 5000 corruption are most likely outliers in power and usually get nerfed, if that's what you mean.

Hello, not sure where to ask this... but where is the SaveGame location on Steam\Linux? according to Google it's in:
~/.config/unity3d/Eleventh\ Hour\ Games/Last\ Epoch/Saves/
However I do not see any savegames there,
I even created a new offline character and he is nowhere to be found on my system.
I have disabled cloud saves for this game.

Also I've tried looking on different locations (all paths with Epoch in them) and the Saves folders were all empty

No. There are improvements coming for characters of all corruption levels. I'm assuming you're the same person from stream yesterday yea? If not I talked a bunch about this on stream yesterday. The game was never designed to go to 5k correction. Builds that have managed to push that high are significant outliers. Having high corruption to push for high skill players is great but that number is arbitrary and having it be 5k is too high without making some massive changes. The more sensible option is to bring the high push corruption number down.

Got a question about the way judgment works. For clarification I am running Judgement with skill points allocated into Anointed to run it as an aura.

A few days ago I asked if 'damage while channeling' was a global buff and was told yes, so I tested the increase it would apply to judgement on the training dummies and found it didn't increase damage at all. After that I tested changing weapons as im using the skill and found the damage Judgment deals (at least when used as an aura) is based on the gear used at the beginning of the skill. This causes global buffs based on actions to not apply at all to Judgment, and can even be used to snapshot the skill. Despite this global buffs do apply to the damage calculation on the skill tooltip but not the skill.

Is this the intended way for Judgement to work while using Anointed or should I put it in a bug report. Hope this is the correct channel to ask this question. Was testing by having destructive impact maxed out on the Judgment tree for max area and using warpath to get damage while channeling to proc without warpath hitting the dummy

Salutations Devs. I hope that is all well today. I was curious if you would be able to help me understand how raising the base crit with Dragonsong and other items would work. I understand that each character starts with a base crit chance of 5%. I am also using the Shattered Worlds unique item which raises base crit chance by 4% which if they are multiplicative should be a base crit chance of 9%. I am also using a blighted avenged blade quiver which raises base crit chance by 2% which should turn the 9% into 11% base crit chance. Now with the Dragonsong unique bow it raises the base crit chance of fire skills by 7%. I am using heartseeker with the fire conversion. Would this make a total of 18% base crit chance and if I added the base crit from the passive skill tree which raises the base crit chance by another 6%. Would it be a base crit chance of 24% or would it be a base crit chance of 13% from dragonsong and heartseeker passive node Addidtive to the base crit chance of 11% that I get from gear. I am curious on how this interaction works. I have also been looking at the tooltip when I might have A LOT more crit chance than I am seeing. It might be easier for me to get a dragonsong with the Base crit/Attack speed as LP to easier get 100% crit chance and be able to use one prefix for crit multi and get something else for the second prefix since it wouldn't need to be crit chance. I definitely need more defense based gear. Having all of this crit chance is cool but I do 0 damage if I am dead and I simply do not deal enough damage fast enough to not have the defenses. I am probably going to drop to 50% crit chance because after dying seven times in the same monolith it kind of broke my moral. Will try and fix it later.

It doesn't and it's intentional. The wording on cloven flesh is kinda weird. It would be more accurate if it said "You have a chance to bleed enemies affected by bone curse on hit" or something along those lines, the cloven flesh bleeds don't actually really interact with the bone curse tree at all. Similar to the bleed from the hemorrhage node in spirit plague, although they do interact a tiny bit with spirit plagues tree they don't interact with the vast majority of its tree either.

Imo 4 months is healthy. Not everyone starts on launch, and people don't have the same amounts of free time to blast for hours every day, some people take longer to minmax their character. i mean i agree sorta but when it takes 4 months to add pretty mnuch nothing it demoralizes the people who want to play the game for extended periods of time. take this last season it was really fun but the only thing in the whole game to do is get strong enough to kill uber and then farm monoliths. nothing is different other than that. i made 8 different builds 6 could kill uber and it was all done in less than a month. i like when they put effort into updates but this season theme every game thinks we like is honestly pretty shit wether it be diablo 2-4, poe1 or 2 , new world, last epoch or any other game they all go for the same formula of make content thats fun for a month and then teh other 3 months are just a waiting game for teh next season. id be ok with teh longer seasons if there was actually stuff to do but i feel like im just swapping from game to game because they dont have good amounts of content until the next season and then even then most seasons are played for a month at most and then most of the player base leaves. i dont think that is healthy for any game , sure there are some people who stick around or play slower or started later. but you can look at steam charts yourself for every game mentioned and see that they all have huge fall offs a few weeks/1 month into season. again i loved this season was very fun but killing uber and doing the same monoliths over and over is simply borring

I actually think it's quite the opposite health wise. The main indicator of a seasonal games health is how many players come back, not necessarily how many keep playing after an arbitrary amount of time. You're not really meant to play the game all year round, a season comes out, you play it, and then move on until the next season releases. There's no way they could ever pump out enough content to keep everyone entertained without burning out all year round playing a single game, it'd take a crazy amount of development time and simply isn't worth it. thats my exact point because of this shitty season meta you cant play a game and have fun all year, thats what a video game is. you are suppose to be able to pick it up and play it whenever you want to have fun and you cant do that when there is 3 months of shitty season2 or whatever season left over. and yes you can pump out content theres plaenty of established games that do that very thing. seasonal play is killing games like this because all teh companies think its good and make the players think it tis too. i want to play my games whenever i want to not only for a few weeks when a new season comes out i rather play a game that is full all round rather then 4 months of the year. and to be honest theres no point to add this to feedback because plenty of people have spoken and complained about this over the years to many companies including this one and nothing changes. and when i say things to do i mean it last epoch is great but literally all that was added this seaon is a pinacle boss ( which was fun to try and beat for a few days) and the ability to choose what map you do with the woven. thats it tbh buffs and class reworks are cool but should of been done on their own not as part of the season theme. just really puts a bad taste when i purchase a game and cant play it for more than 3/4ths of the year because " gotta wait for next season". its a super un healthy way to devolop a game and its really lame that every aarpg is adopting this method. make season play for 1 month wait 3 months for next season. maybe i come from a different time but its super unhealthy in my opinion

the devs want to do 3-4 month seasons, because thats what they are comfortable with in getting new content out (including coding a testing) and having people enjoy the content they put out, and having some semblance of work life balance. its a fairly normal length of time for arpgs as well (and even as you pointed out, other genres as well), as has been for a while. poe 1 and 2 are on 4 month seasons as well. just the industry norm.

I don’t think patch notes should be released in advance just for preparation. The game is meant to be experienced, not a race. A season lasts 3–4 months, but most people only play actively during the first month. On top of that, releasing patch notes early can also give RMT groups a chance to prepare, causing the market to shift too quickly.

There’s no reason to release the patch notes before the season launches.

On a separate tangent, it's already tricky to tell if a build will work just and having to farm the whole gear only to find out the build doesn't work isn't exactly a fun experience. In terms of player retention, there's a delicate balance between extending longevity with prolonging time until build are discovered and making sure people aren't burnt out faster because they keep bashing into a wall when every attempt takes a significant amount of time.

I think the severity of the issue from the "length to test" direction would eventually be greatly alleviated the more the game gets balanced. I think right now the gap between build strength is just too big sometimes and even when you try to optimize one build to the fullest it still cannot compare to some other builds.

If one build hits a wall at 300c and the other is blitzing at 3000c, people would inevitably think that the 300c build just doesn't work. If the difference is between 2000c and 3000c, people would think more like "ok maybe this build isn't as strong as that build, but it worked" and taking long to test a build becomes less of an issue because what you're trying is more likely to "work".

I don't seem to be doing enough damage to get to the Aboroth fight and that is the ultimate goal. Defeat the last boss of the game.

Just to add to this, there's other changes to the CT program we've wanted to do for a while, it's not just about the removal of content creators. While doing the other changes (making it much more efficient at its intended purposes), it was a good time to also act on the content creation front.

Now all content creators are on the same starting line, can speculate and theorycraft from released information instead of having a set amount of users feeling like they need to hold their tongue because they already know things. This way there is also no favouritism on which content creators have access to this information and which don't.

Being able to fully vet and test theorycrafted ideas is a massive advantage and we've noticed quite a lot of apathy towards theorycrafting as a result of that. We still fully expect knowledgeful players to be able to 'solve' many things from patch notes, but there's a stark difference in having had weeks or months of time to test many iterations and solve those builds compared to having planned builds that end up being refined through actual playtesting.

Sorry to bother again Devs. I am curious if this games %increases to damage come with diminishing returns. I am currently getting 292% %increased damage on from dex and I have 60% increased elemental damage on each ring with is 120% and an extra 40% increased damage while wielding a bow from the helmet. which equals roughly 350% increased damage. Now, with some mechanics 100% increased damage would equal double damage and another 100% added would equal 150% more damage and another 100% would equal 175% more damage but I do not know if that is the case with this game. Does the scaling work similiar maybe?

Should do but with all the damage converted to fire, it really won't do much good. I guess it would affect frostbite chance applied from an item like Snowdrift but that's about it. If you want to use the Frozen Splinter node, you should probably not take the Molten Arrowstorm node. Check the alt text on the cold conversion node to see that it has no effect if you have fire conversion.

Yeah when I clicked the first one the link inside for summon: 1x healing totem redirected to the spriggan version so I want sure if maybe it was a bit like a passthrough. Because you can spec that but not have spriggan form at all so maybe that's a different totem compared to specced into spriggan

I'm second guessing myself on this hard. I'm pretty sure that they just vanish. I know they used to but I'm not sure if someone fixed that or not. For a long time all the SCF stuff just sat there and you left it behind, this meant that if you remade the character with the same name, it would actually pick the stash (and crafting materials) back up again on the new SCF character. When we added factions, we added a bunch of merging systems for stashes when abandoning challenges so that you could still equip your stuff. Since the crafting materials don't sit in a limited space stash (like your normal stash items do), it is possible that they could merge over like faction ranks do.

This is fairly easy to test though as you could make a new SCF character and play until you get any piece of crafting material and then abandon the challenge and see what happens to it.

I think there is also a big popup warning message when you're about to abandon it which warns you of all the things that will be lost.

  • to have a different build path for Melees and Spells skills
  • so melee skill have very little base dmg, Spell skill have much higher base dmg (same for throwing weapon). And usually a bit more Dmg Effectiveness

I think it's also thematic, you "attack" with your weapon, it makes sense that the majority of base damage for said attack comes from the weapon, while for spells the weapon just empowers them but it's not what's actually hitting the enemy. Obviously ehg can do whatever they want though lul

New SCF characters will not get access to another SCF disabled character's stash as an SCF character's stash is specific to that character. It will be like a season rollover, but instead of season stash to legacy stash it would be SCF character stash to SAF stash. After disabling a SCF challenge, when you log into a SAF character in the same season, there would be a dropdown in the stash with the SCF character's name which you can select and then click the merge button to move your SCF character's stash data over.

e.g. for this screenshot:

  • I created a season 2 SCF character named SCF_Character_A
  • I looted some glyphs and runes
  • I disabled the SCF challenge
  • I logged back into a season 2 SAF character (could be SCF_Character_A or another season 2 non-SCF character)
  • My stash had SCF_Character_A in the dropdown and when accessing it, I can merge that stash data into the season 2 SAF stash

First half of the question: How do you guys realistically see Uber Aberroth? I think the missing piece in ARPGs is actually hard content that you need to figure out. It feels so good working towards something in terms of both gear and strategy. Which, Uberroth...should...be(?), but because builds get so obnoxious, any challenge would be overcome so fast.

The other half: and so, have you considered creating an instance where you're debuffed in some way, to make sure you can't just trample these hard bosses? Or something along the lines, to prevent degeneracy. It feels bad to have to tune those bosses around crazy builds, because they make any other semi-decent build irrelevant.

Salutations Dev's. I first want to thank all of you for creating such a fantastic season. I do have one last question before I part ways for the season. Is there a cap on DPS if someone goes over a certain number? If you are wondering about the reasoning for this question, here is the answer. I was messing around with the arena and realized that there is an arena leaderboard. As I was curious to what everyone else is doing with their gear I started looking at different set ups. I realized that many of them have built significantly more defensively than I have. They didn't have the Increases, Crit multipliers, elemental penetration or shred that I had. Mathematically, my dps should have been far superior seeing as I sacrificed defense for even more dps. This is how I started to fall under the belief that there must be a dps cap.

The reason they build defensive is because damage is extremely available to us when it comes to killing normal enemies in this game

It's easy to kill white and rare mobs with little damage investment, the hard part becomes surviving the fairly insane damage enemies start dealing

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to respond. Maybe it has to do with the unique monsters themselves along with the bosses. I have yet to take down normal Abboroth do to the lack of dps that I was dealing. I took the "kill everything before they kill you" approach. It could also be my skill choice wasn't suitable for the content also. I find the uniques in the monoliths at around 250-300 corruption seem to be extremely tanky themselves. Anyway, thank you all for the new season and I am looking forward to the next season. Thank you.

Me and my friend in different regions, Asia and NA. I know I must add a friend in the server they selected, and the difference on ping of Asia and NA is huge because I'm in Asia.

So will the huge difference on pings influence the experience like the server is disconnected suddenly, loading time in a map is quite long even be stuck here?

It doesn't matter which servers you selected. The friend list and chat work cross region. Characters can move cross region on the fly without logging out.

Whoever the party leader is will dictate the region used.

It is possible that you might experience more disconnects or have worse ping in game. Load times are largely unaffected. You might see a few extra milliseconds of load time but for the most part that should be the same as loading isn't really about sending information back and forth with the server and more just the time it takes for the server to load the scene.

If I’m not mistaken (I’d welcome the actual answer) the string of information that the server sends to the client, can be broken due to high ping, which will cause stutters, laggy movement etc.

Ping is not how good* or fast your connection is, it's simply how long it takes for your computer to get a response from the game server, although it can affect connection stability sometimes. So if you have 100 ping it'll take 0.1 seconds to get a response back from the server after an action has been registered on your client.

As far as I know LE uses somewhat predictive networking so even at high ping it usually won't feel like there's a very big delay, but you might experience some rubber banding and things like that because your client can sometimes predict things wrong and then snap back to what really happened from time to time.

For co-op it basically doesn't make a difference unless you have to be super coordinated with your party for some reason. Usually you'll want to pick the server in-between everyone in the party so that instead of one person having something like 200 ping(bad) and the other 10(really good), both can have 100 ping(medium).

Not sure if that's the answer you're looking for.

Try setting "Keyboard Movement - Movement Abilities" to "Short Range - Follows Movement". That will make your shorter range movements like Evade go in the direction your character is facing while the longer range movement Skills such as Teleport, Transplant, Fury Leap, Lunge, etc go to your cursor.

If the in game settings aren't letting you set the controller the way you want, try using the Steam Controller mapping. Press Shift + Tab to bring up Steam Overlay. In the bottom middle of the screen, push the icon button that looks like a controller. Then push Edit Layout.

But yes, that also sounds like it's something for the suggestion/feedback sections if it doesn't let you change it the way you want.

Yes, however there are many reasons why a bug might not be fixed quickly. Some of those reasons can include that it is not a bug with functionality but the wording is wrong and it gets a low priority or maybe it is something we don't know how to fix yet so we put logs into the game to find it. Or maybe we can't reproduce it from the report information so we are waiting for more varied reports. Or maybe we fixed one cause of it but there are multiple. There are more reasons but those are some of the more common ones.

Yes, we change all the localizations at once. It's a good and bad thing but we've developed a lot of processes that every change goes through. Each bug fix gets documented, triaged, repro steps, development, testing, more fixing maybe, integration build validation and regression testing.

So to make one little change to say the damage of a spell, the dev time involved to actually make the change is a few seconds but the whole process to bring it to a build takes many many times longer.

Because we have hundreds of things on the to-do list, we try to bundle similar items together to save overall time. It's all about getting the most updates, fixes and changes in. If we were to take each one individually and just push out changes, we would see short term increase in fixes but a grand total of fixes would decrease. This way we end up with a better overall game.

I'm not sure which specific bugs this is about but it is also possible that some just slipped through the cracks.

I forgot which dev said it but during the pre season 2 interviews someone mentioned that map layouts will change to make playing with WASD smoother. Hi, I've uncovered a weird interaction that I'm unsure if is a bug or intended.

The skill "Black Hole" has a node called "Binary System" which makes it deal both fire and cold damage. The node is locked behind a fire-conversion node. The skill does not gain the cold-tag after leveling "Binary System", essentially making it a skill that deals cold damage, but without the cold-tag.
