It's one of the things that tee_61 and I put together on reddit. Using Gaspar's gloves and some increased void damage/damage over time items to really crank up the spell damage. I totally think it could work.
One of the major bummers about using that or using mourningfrost or similar is that there are two BIG more multipliers on the tree that are element-locked. int-stacking for fire damage, and mana stacking for lightning damage. Not the end of the world for fire, but it's a minor bummer, and makes spell or fire spell added damage much more effective overall.

Shroud of obscurity for void damage, sacrificial embrace for void damage, but you miss out on EDoT, and the split damage is slightly awkward to scale. I think it could totally work as well as my current build.
I think it's a bit of a bummer in the current environment just because if I, while wearing all of my EDoT gear with no crit specced at all and switch my static orb spec to dealing damage, it outdamages my disintegrate by like...I don't know, 20-100x. I know static orb is a big outlier, so I'm certainly not judging my build against it
I think that speaks to the imbalance of static orb more than disintegrate though
Well, overall, I think disintegrate is a bit below average and...well...we both know where static orb is. The contrast is just funny when you're using static orb for utility in your disintegrate build
I want to work out a better way to maintain charged bonuses with disintegrate through movement.

That's an interesting idea. I was thinking that it would definitely play better if you didn't have to channel for 2 (base) seconds before maintaining lucomancy. Like, maintaining was easier than growing.
Greets EHG, I looked online but can't find an answer anywhere... melee weapons have adaptive base flat dmg, but if a skill has two damage element tags (physical and fire), how does the 50 base dmg of my sword apply? Half half split? Does it just add to the original dmg tag because the fire was added due to node? To be clear, the skill node ADDS the fire tag, and does not remove the physical tag.

um actually π€ , it uses the ability's base damage ratio and matches that. This happens to always be an even split, except in 1 notable case. Serpent Strike doesn't have any Melee Poison Damage so the tags do betray you a bit there as +50 damage will be applied at 100:0 for physical/poison.

there are 2 tags, the faction one, and other "cannot be traded" so that last u can use with other chars of ur own, but not sell... Nemesis dont get any of them...

Not sure if there might be a missunderstanding or not but the cycle reset won't delete your characters or anything, they'll simply move to legacy where you can continue playing them like normal. It'll pretty much act the same as if a new cycle would have started, which is something that's core to the game. If you simply meant that reseting a little early (about 2 months instead of 3-4 months) is the major change then no, EHG has not issued any refunds because of it.
Area increases only affect the area of the initial strike and the additional sword strikes. Targeting range only gets increased by the one node in MS's skill tree.
Will there be any change on obsidian resonance drop rate? Can you just remove it or make it easier to drop? Or else do it like each Lp requires one golden resonance. It will be Annoying when I cant gift the required item for my friends when not playing together. Please make it easier thanks.

what makes this different from the controller input already in the game?
The current controller setup couples movement and targeting direction together in the same way that kbd + mouse.
WASD is the same as adding twin stick to controller.

I've seen lots of complaints about the performance, and they seem to be mostly from Nvidia/Intel people. Me with my full AMD PC have no complaints
I don't have hard stats on it but of the ones I know it's heavily skewed towards Nvidia/Intel, which is what I'm on.
I suspect that if you account for market share, it's probably not statistically relevant data.
FWIW, when i played the new patch in july, i was absolutely getting poor FPS during heavy combat in monoliths (sub-20), and it was maxing out my system to the point it sounded like a jet engine and was making me melt in my computer chair because of the hot air it emitted during heat waves, and i'm using an AMD rig, though i only experienced 2 or 3 full game crashes total (which is barely anything considering how much i played)

Yea, that's a neat trick of wording. I don't know the exact circumstances by which any last epoch keys arrived on their site (if any have) but I can say with certainly that we did not provide any with the intention that they would appear there.

hi mike, is it to your knowledge intentional that blessings with two seperate stats on them roll those stats seperately? i've reported it already but it just seems to be very at odds with how blessings rolls are presented and saved with the blessing respec

Only problem is that you cant use the new dodge on controller as theres no key available. Having it so you only dodge while in combat would let you bind it to a for example but currently if you do that whenever you try to pick up items itl just dodge instead of picking them up

when you say "you know sentinel defenses are weak" what are some of the main targets for you to give them more defenses? items? passives? core game changes? so far I've managed to push 900 corruption on my rive knight, which is well beyond the balancing point for this game, and overall the defenses seem okay but gear requirements too high - not to get into feedback too much just curious what ur thoughts are on how you would like to see it changed

Yes, that's called "Sundays" &/or "having time off (which, to be fair, is a rarity in the US).
I haven't heard anything like that being discussed but maybe. Either way, it still helps to go in suggestions. This wouldn't be the primary blocker in adding more skills hotkeys though.

In don't know the corruption point where they cross over. I suspect it's extremely high.
Ok so most of people must fight with Abboerth for a long time because its super rich health is what EHG supposed, a few people can kill it within seconds just extreme cases and suppose to be super rare.

It's probably a few minute fight on average.

The fight has several distinct phases. We want the fight to be long enough that people engage with each phase of the fight but not so long that each phase drags on.

On the opposite means players don't want to experience each phase to kill it because it means players will have rich room to make mistakes then waste this chance. They'll hope kill this boss as fast as possible so they can get the reward.
How come the nemesis "empower" function sometimes doesn't upgrade an item? For example I've tried adding a unique and the first time I empower it, it becomes 1LP, but the next time I upgrade it nothing happens? I haven't been able to find any information on how this function specifically works.
Ok sure but the whole point of the game is for it to be fun and I don't think it's very fun if the pinnacle boss just evaporates. Succeeding feels better when it was challenging.
The in game guide (G) has a pretty good description.
If the item gets 1 or more LP on the first time, it isn't guaranteed to get more on the second. If it did, the chance to get 2LP would be the same as 1LP and the relative chances for LP on some items would get twisted. Since the LP chance of each unique is different, very high LPL items like wings would end up getting a very significant boost to their 2LP chance.
The other items would have improved still though.

He kind of has a point, when you kill same boss many times (especially in a row) and player (and his character) is capable of doing that fight without real challenge - it starts to get boring, but it's not like player is teleported away after each phase and needs to find a boss again ποΈ π ποΈ
But i think Aberroth is one of the best designed fights in arpg, yeah it's kind of annoying that he get's DR for a couple seconds at the start of each phase and i do feel like boss ward in general is a bit too much, but fight is in a good place in my opinion

Think of the possibilities. He could randomly make Streamer Mode actually give increased RNG relative to the number of concurrent Twitch viewers that player has. Anyone who says something dumb or rude in Discord could have their LP chance disabled for an arbitrary amount of time. Random buffs? Nerfs? Both could be undocumented, then "fixed" when bug reports start to come in.
These are just a few ideas. Who knows what type of havoc that Mad Mikeβ’ could wreak!

I don't think that static orb being too short range or too low mana is really what's holding it back. Those are nice that they line up but meteor existing is almost enough to make it be the one. It's just the most iconic sorc skill.

YES IT CAN! Meteor has an active lightning conversion that is currently in the game that you can play with. Villatria's Staff (https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/items/UAzDsEYA4DYg) converts it. It has the text "Meteor is Converted to Lightning".

Mage is themed around elemental damage. I think all mage and mage mastery abilities deal some sort of elemental damage. If the ability can deal any combination of fire, lightning OR cold damage then it successfully is in that theme.
So, does meteor deal any combination of fire, lightning OR cold damage? Yes! It deals fire damage and can be converted to lightning. - This means that it can be a mage skill.
The base mage theme is "elemental damage", not "could be converted into all 3 elements". Again, this isn't sorc's theme. Sorc's specific theme isn't elemental.
"Elemental conversions" as a theme is a Runemaster theme. That's why I think every skill in runemaster can go to all 3 elements.
Oh your elaboration reminds me of why I felt a pity that I selected sorcerer instead of runemaster to play while the game still in 1.0. Elemental conversions is what I want to play after I select this mastery but it's what this mastery bad at.

Void appearing on other masteries is more likely than necrotic but broadly yes.

The upcoming planned cycle starts are September 19th and Q1 2025.

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for this channel. I know sometimes Mike literally loses sleep over it, but it has yielded some great things.
This channel is one of my favorite things about last epoch because it actively shows the developers interacting with us on a consistent basis and genuinely accepting or explaining our feedback. It shows they care about the community and i love that.
Curious question for you mike, ive been thinking about it for a while and seems appropriate with the class exclusive convo. Marksman is ideally an archer, they fire things from a distance its what they excel at. They get detonating arrow, great super cool ability. Why on earth is the only item in the game designed around detonating arrow built to make you melee? Dont get me wrong its a really cool item. But as a marksman i feel like it actively goes against their theme and with it being the only detonating arrow specific option it seems really odd since its a marksman exclusive skill. Just curious on the thought process behind that.

I think we might have made a mistake with making that item too powerful initially. It also could use another item focused around it to make it more clearly signposted as a ranged ability. We didn't intend for DA to become primarily a short range ability really. Just adding more options but those new options were OP. I think we will likely see new items for DA in the future to help make the obvious way to play (ranged) more viable.
So why did this happen? Probably just as simple as that it was a cool idea so we put it in.
Items are sorta supposed to "break the rules". That's why you see off element conversions like void volcanic orb on an item.
That's a good idea to jump into the world of void sorcerer lol...Just discover volcanic orb is a skill who can spend more mana to up the damage even it's not as strong as static orb. But void volcanic orb still cool!

What are the issues behind not easily being able to add sound notifications to the loot filter?
It's been a while since we discussed that but the one I'm remembering is that if it's set to play on every item drop, it overloads the information being thrown at the player and if you put a limit on it then it's no longer reliable which is almost worse because you stop looking out as much and will miss them.
A sound that we can choose to add to the drop, like for very rare combinations of affixes. Create 20 sounds like the recolor option.
Same argument can be made about 'light poles' above exalted, set and unique items, but we can't modify them in any way currently
I think more customization for lootfilter is always welcomed, sound and map icons would be great imo

I imagine with the new system, I'd setup my stash tabs similar to like I have before, but then I already had to remember which groups and tabs I created. Now I'd also have to remember how I set up the priorities. π

Is there any interest in adding a loot filter option for CoF drops? Id love to be able to add a rule to look for CoF specific drops for the intention of using the rune of ascendance buffs.

Does Ballista's Perfect Aim Node work the same as the Falcon's Go for the Eyes Node? Both Nodes say your critical stat ratio now also applies to the specific minion respectively. You previously explained the Falcon node as giving the falcon your critical strike chance, as its listed in the character sheet, as as flat added critical strike chance which then is multiplied by its own minion critical strike chance. So does this work the same for the ballista node?
Exact Node wordings:
Ballista: Your critical strike chance also applies to your ballista but at a reduced ratio.
Falcon: Your critical strike chance modifiers now also apply to your falcon but at a reduced ratio.

Probably just that it undermines several important aspects of the current design of the crafting system, ultimately reducing decision making consequence and stakes in the crafting process. Especially around Rune of Creation, for example. But of course, I'm not a dev, I bet Mike'll answer in the morning

Well, if your goal is to convince me to move static orb to the mastery ability, that has a 0.01% chance of being successful. Good luck. So far I've just managed to convince myself more and more that we made the right decision. Meteor is the perfect mastery ability. It is the example by which all other mastery abilities are measured.
Anyone familiar with the general landscape of ARPGs is not at all surprised by the choice. I'm not even sure why anyone would prefer static orb other than wanting to play meteor runemaster, or not wanting people to be able to play static orb runemaster

what are your thoughts on making the glyph of removal a more resonable crafting choice, the 1/4 chance to hit the right affix is already quite the gamble but then you also need a good roll on not loosing too much crafting potential or the item is bricked anyway. so ppl mostly avoid using it
Are you guys planning or considering adding campaign skip after one character completes it? I personally leveled 3 characters in 0.9, but in 1.0 I had to force myself to do it even on one, I skipped 1.1 entirely at level 19 because it was so dreadful doing it again on such low movement speed. I know I'm a casual but it would make me play more than 1 character a cycle since I like variety rather than committing to one character. Thanks!

Hi, I have a question : the node "Shrapnel" in Forge Strike's tree makes forged weapons explode. Do the explosion damage scale with the forged weapon's stats or with the player's ? Who casts the spell ?

Everyone who participates gets the same reward so you don't have to hit personal thresholds.

Does that mean all existing items will essentially reroll themselves? Keeping the same "background hidden value" but use the new rounding formula for the actual value. Meaning that if your item roll was in the lower half, there is a chance the roll value will be reduced by one, and if your roll value was in the upper half, there is a chance it will be increased by one?
Yes, items can have minor adjustments up and down. It shouldn't be a big jump anywhere. This is why we are doing it now at the start of a new cycle.

It's a design restriction. It is technically possible to switch masteries. We view your mastery as your class selection. When we're designing things for the game, VK is a completely different class than Pally for example.
if you play offline you can edit your txt save and change the mastery (if you know what to change)
For the loyalist undead, "logging in and killing skeletons" is kinda vague description. Does it mean you just have to kill at least one skeleton pack, or some predetermined number? Without any indicator that you fullfilled the requirement, you just kinda have to hope that it triggered.

You have to get someone to boost you past that point in the campaign but it is doable. I've never done it manually myself the whole way.
It got pushed back a bit which was unfortunate. It is however a requirement for consoles which is something that we are looking towards. I suspect that console development will drag achievements way up the priority list.

Is there any future plans to move LE to a better engine besides Unity? Or make bigger changes within the engine to optimize the game furthur? We try to give different themes different options and combinations so you're not just always taking the same nodes on every character. So the other options get power in other ways.
Do you mean EHG don't want every build of sorcerer needs crit multiplier and crit chance, it can just go to stack ignite chance, chill chance or freeze rate multiplier but for lightning skills, crit chance and crit multiplier is more important than shock chance on increasing damage?

reworking them in the sense that the upgrade is more of a side grade, instead of a huge QoL buff at minimum (base umbral blades technically does more damage but it's just a huge pain to deal with)

Will the crit be registered to activate and then be converted to a normal hit?
Yes, critical hits which take no bonus damage due to having 100% less bonus damage taken from critical hits still register as a critical hit taken.

It's more in the power to time investment ratio. We set up the game pacing through the end game with intentionality. The time it takes to farm extreme corruption is not an expectation we want to give our players.

That's reasonable. As the game expands, it will presumably get new monolith content and people will (also assumed) interact with it enough to naturally get to a higher corruption average. Will you then be more open to having builds reach high corruption without nerfing them? My (and perhaps some others' too) concern is as an ARPG player, I love:
- better loot
- Build upgrades from the better loot
and high corruption gives me a more reasonable timeline on getting both. If you nerf builds to get them in line, to me you're basically saying "we don't want builds to get better loot as quickly" and maybe I'll still deal with it in MG, but that's a death sentence to CoF because even now (for example) around 600 corruption, I'm barely getting T6+ chance to shred armour gloves with all the prophecies I run. Imagine how miserable it is at 300c when the loot rarity is almost half. That makes me not want to play at all as an offline player (my internet is horrendous)
So what exactly is the reason that Vit is not able to go on all of the same gear as Str and Dex?
Because we have things that get doubled at 90 Vit but it can be quite difficult to get there without perfect roles & bases

What would be the intended behavior for summoning extra spirits when using wandering spirits?
A - Wandering spirits will summon 1 extra spirit with a 4 second cooldown, because its still a necrotic skill but its base damage gets converted to fire
B - Wandering spirits will summon 1 extra spirit because its now considered a fire skill
C - Wandering spirits CAN summon 2 extra spirits on subsequent casts because it is a necrotic skill converted to fire

LE has no policy on not using macros or anything, right? Saw a video that mentioned using the numlock trick to autocast something and I figured I could set up auto-casting on the steam deck as well, through the controller config.

Yeah my main concern is that when you convert within a skill by taking a node, the node mentions everything in this skill will scale as X-damage now and is considered X-type. whilst the item itself just mentions the base damage being converted.

From the shop page, the Legend pack contains everything from the Traveler, Templar & Vanquisher packs plus 2 helm mtx, 2 pets & some points (& title/forum badge). No idea about the discount, that's definitely something for the devs to answer.

I just looked at the reviews for the game and noticed this negative review (emphasis mine):
The game still suffers from some performance/optimization issues and the developer stealthily removed the Linux version of the game without an official announcement or a change to the Steam page.
I am aware that better support for the steam deck is forthcoming, which would require at least a reasonable degree of Linux support in order to work. Can you comment on whether or not this statement is true, and if it is, will the game still work more or less the same on Linux through Wine/Proton, even if it is no longer native?
The windows version runs so well through wine/proton, that there is no reason to keep supporting the Linux version.
Proton offers a better experience for Steamdeck. The change also allows Steamdeck players to automatically lunch with Proton which is the preferred compatibility layer.
It feels kinda bad not being able to continue playing your now legacy characters as it appears that CoF rank (not favour) wasnt migrated in any way (i assume its the same with MG)

Favor is not carried over, however once you merge your stash, you will have the higher Faction Reputation between Legacy and your previous cycle. There should be a merge button when you open your legacy stash if you haven't already done so.

did anyone on the dev team in any way consider how annoying it is as a melee class to have run hit the loot lizard once have it run away just to chase it down and hit it once again. it seems like the devs just hate melee and so many enemies either run away from you burrow underground or do some other thing just for you to have to run after them in all different directions . I just dont get why melee gets 0 love this issue is certainly worse in the early game when you do very little dmg and does get slightly better as you progress but not much.

May I ask why the changes to mod bias fixes were retroactive? I was building a melee marksman using 2 blast knives prior to the update and now my legendaries have rerolled, making detonating arrow cost 1 mana instead of 0, effectively gutting my build

One test later, on ultra graphics settings - smooth 60, no issues that I can see. Seems to me as though Proton handles the game just fine. The devs may have rightly decided it was pointless to have two separate versions when a single version would do.

Hi all, my Linux install does not work anymore. Is it true linux support is discontinued?
Yes and no. The Linux port itself was discontinued, on the grounds of "Proton works better than a native Linux version of our game anyway". I went in and enabled Proton, and after running a couple maps to see, I was able to run on ultra at 60 FPS without any problem. As such, while the native Linux port is gone, it's unlikely you will have any problems running the game because of it.

Native Linux was the tipping point for my choosing to purchase the game as well, but if their performance analysis is actually saying Proton runs better... well, I can't in good faith complain about that.
One user above said that the game performed worse for them, but I gathered they were on a lower-end system that was likely having trouble running the game to begin with. Your mileage may vary, but let's face it, that's true for any PC game when so many different parts and configurations exist these days.

Question about the Cold and Calculating node in the Frost Claw tree. It states Frost Claw has a higher chance to freeze based on its critical strike chance. I realize that Last Epoch is litteral in its words but I am still curious if the critical strike chance is Critical Strike Chance specifically in the character sheet or does the Spell Critical Strike Chance also affect this as well.
Example: Critical Strike Chance is at 11%. Spell Critical Strike Chance is at 36%. Will the Cold and Calculating node use 11 as its value or combine the two and use 46?
Question about Bosses, Death, and Harbingers:
When in a group, are you supposed to resurrect when your partner(s) defeat the boss, before the harbinger shows up? Or are you supposed to stay dead until after the harbinger is slain? It used to happen the former way, but now it seems to happen the latter way.
I think it's better if you can res in the middle but that seems like an intentional change. If you aren't sure, use the in game bug report tool please.

Is your character a Beastmaster? You can't go past the halfway point in any mastery passive tree without selecting that mastery class.

Porcine Constitution doesn't actually have any prerequisite passives, it's not linked to anything. As long as you picked Beastmaster as your mastery class, have at least 20 points spent on anything in the Primalist passive tree, and 25 points spent on anything in the Beastmaster passive tree, you should be able to allocate points in Porcine Constitution.

Boar Heart is linked to Tusk Warrior, which is linked to Deep Wounds. There's no connection between Porcine Constitution and any other passive node. I have the game open right now, version 1.1.7.1. Did you look at the picture I linked? Edit: If you're seeing something different maybe try uploading a screenshot.
and porcupine constitution says right here you must have 4 points in boar heart to use wich i had but you should really gewt to know the passive tree
Are you running an old version of the game? Everything you just described hasn't been true since like.. 0.9.2 or something. Edit: My bad, it was actually 1.1 that redesigned the Beastmaster passive tree.

Yeah, that's the old passive tree. Do you have Last Epoch installed through Steam? Your game is definitely out of date.

1.1.7 isn't even the latest update, 1.1.7.1 is. The update that changed the location of Porcine Constitution was 1.1, released 2 months and 14 days ago. Porcine Constitution has been moved beyond the lock, taking the position Envenom was at. It now also grants 4% chance per point to gain Aspect of the Boar on melee hit.
Edit: It's actually possible that being on patch 1.1.7 is what's causing your issue. The patch notes for 1.1.7.1 specifically say "Fixed a display bug where passives were displaying incorrectly" which could explain the exact problem you're having -- passives showing in the wrong location.

I think the event details are mostly running through the social channels. There are no personal kill threshold milestones.

Are loot lizards a general feature, or attached to the event, so when the event ends so do the loot lizards.
They are permanent. The only temporary stuff for the event are the "50% more" boosts and extra undead spawns.

Hello i have turned down almoust all sound in the settings but the new "lizzards" are still really loud for me. i watched some streamers and they dont seems to have this problem? have like all sound on 1% besides sound effect thats on maby 10% and master 15% but the lizzards are really loud for me.. anything i missing here?
anyone know why I cant put items into my stash with shift+right click, but can put items from stash to inventory with shift+right click
the sounds should be all consistent, streamers might be using sound equalizing software to make the sound spikes from the game not go above a threshold. This would prevent their chat from getting blasted by a volume spike.

Hello. I've been playing the game in a party with my mate who is an avid necromancer enjoyer. During fights where there are multiple enemies and attacks going on I find it hard to see the indicators of the enemies to predict movement and attacks before they happen -> a lot of visual clutter due to friendly necro minions basically. I was wondering if there is a feature already in the game or in plans to improve the quality of that (like transparency of friendly minions in a party)? Not sure if this is the right place to ask, sorry in advance if not.

I purchased this game back in June, 2021. I have over 900 hours on it in Steam. I love this game. I play on Linux and, while I've had issues, overall it's been fine. This most recent patch that deleted the native linux support breaks my heart. I purchased this game because it had a native option. I've now uninstalled my native install, reinstalled using Proton and the game is completely unplayable. My fps is maybe 0.2? There's a 5-6 second delay for every action and it fails to load the game occasionally. I'm really disappointed in the decision to remove the native client, the way it was communicated, and the results. This sucks and I wanted to tell the devs that it sucks.

can you tell me please when you will fix the russian localization? I've submittes a lot of fixes / mistakes reports but nothing's changed since russian was first added to LE. like 'damage' is still 'ΡΡΠ΅ΡΠ±' instead of 'ΡΡΠΎΠ½'. Are u even in contact with your russian localization partner??
some errors just absolutely wrong and even misleading. For example 'cast speed' is translated as 'ΡΠ±ΡΠΎΡΠΈΡΡ ΡΠΊΠΎΡΠΎΡΡΡ' - literalily 'drop/lower speed'.

Loot filter -> add rule -> advanced options -> affix-> more or equal tier 6 -> update

Not in general. If there's a duration increase it'll be for specific minions, usually their skill tree. The only effect not for one specific skill is the shaman passive for inc totem duration.

Welryn Outskirt map (and monoliths based on that area) are super laggy for me . FPS drops to 10-20. And that lasts until I transition to a new area then it is good again. This bug (?) lasts since the LE release

chathortic fissure and chaos bolts build for my acolyte warlock and when I use the mention skills the seem to be boosting my health and I am using the crimson shroud armor to have a nice amount of ward. I have tested with and without nod in chaos bolts using blood rip and I got it gaining ward setup and it does seem to matter. What else do I need to test to be thorough in testing before submitting a potential bug?

Did you take the chaos bolt node that gives you health on hit of a cursed target?
I took that off even and it still was getting high and auto proc of blood rip it wasn't as bad but still there when using chaos I was getting about 75 hp over an instance then with blood rip and the hp nod 150-200 hp
Yes, those are all intended (You can convert rip blood to give ward instead, you cannot prevent chaos bolt's health gain unless you don't take the related nodes. Exsang armour does NOT prevent life leech or gain, it just drains it. If you want further help come #πβacolyte )

Does Omnis not drop if we use the catch up mechanic? I swear I've killed him like 20 times over 200 corruption (as CoF and level 10 FK) and nothing.
The Shade-specific drops scale drop chance significantly based on distance from the web's center. If it can drop at all at that distance, it's a super tiny chance and more worth your time to speed run out as far as you can reasonably go.
Load times for this game have been an issue and progressively getting worse. I don't have an old brick of a computer and it can run any game ive tried on the highest graphic settings, yet for some reason this game takes ages to load from steam. Now since yesterday it has effectively doubled. I'm not saying it's gone from 15 seconds to 30 seconds. More accuratly its gone from 5 minutes to 10. Any ideas why?

anything measured in mins is a dramatic anomaly. If you're on an SSD then something very major is going wrong.

Hey there is it intended that new skills provided by shrines scale with your stat?, i noticec that almost all shrines are dealing 10-100 damage in emp monos for my rogue, so almost all of them don't do anything positive for me, the meteor and shuriken throwing seems to be very good though, but stuff like phoenix fire breath is doing 7 damage per tick
it does scale with your stats, some of them are more dependent on you having relevant stats than others

Question about Nihilis amulet, when used with Flames of Midnight ring or Fingers of phantom mire player loses life with each press of evade button, but does not gain frenzy, is that intended or a bug?
It feels like a bug, because wording on Nihilis is the same for losing life and gaining frenzy, so it should either take life and give frenzy or just nothing, because Evade is replaced

No, just like spells, throwing, and bow, flat melee is given to all melee skills and % damage type boosts the related damage type.
I may be overthinking this alot. So does just plain melee with no sub type apply to any type of damage? How are you expected to scale the melee damage? If I have 15 of my 30 melee damage coming from melee void, and im using a fire melee skill, how is that suppose to correspond? It adds flat damage to the skill but how would it scale further than the base?
Any melee skill, yes. So +50 melee damage would apply to any melee skill and converted to the skill's damage type. Eg: Fire melee skills would turn it into fire melee damage. This applies to all damage types.
I think that answered my question, I appreciate it. So to confirm any type of melee damage (plain, void, cold, etc.) gets converted to whatever damage type my skill is. So in theory 20 melee cold + 20 melee void + 40 melee fire with flame reave (or any skill that im using that has both a fire and melee tag)
No, it only converts if it's untyped(Like from melee weapons implicits). But non-matching damage types still add to the skill.
EG: Fire reave dealing 50 fire damage. You gain an affix that gives 20 melee void damage.
Fire reave now deals 50 fire damage and 20 void damage.

Hi i am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but a few of us in the discord community spotted 2-3 Accounts with strange names (i have screenshots if you need) ...the name is like two ear symbols and a face ..no letters , just symbols..these Accounts you can find nearly everywhere and they are similar...everytime you see them they are completely naked with different character (no cosmetics and nothing) and they are all in the COF Factions,,,the strangest thing is, you cannot interact with them on the right mouse button like you can do with other players....just wondering if they are bots or some kind of Game Masters. This isnt a side quest Bug. Its main story, It stops progression. And has been around for 2 years. Maybe remove it if ya cant fix it. Obviously after this amount of time no one knows how to so just remove it from the game. Wow does it with quests all the time.

Using the Javelin skill with the Path of Judgement node, my Holy Trail is not scaling with my healing effectiveness. However, it was supposed to work that way.Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
How are you checking to see if it scales or not? Is it through raw testing or through the Holy Trail ability tooltip you get when holding ALT on the Holy Trail node in the Javelin skill tree?

Does the elemental penetration node in Elemental nova broken? I notice zero difference between all 7 points (70% penetration) and no points in it. Am i misunderstanding how penetration works?
It looks like there's a bug where it only works if you have certain other nodes. There are a wide number of nodes that fix it not working, but the simplest would be to put one point in Arcana Elementorum, the damage and area node right above the start, Immolation and Melting Nova are other options if you don't want to take that one. A fix for this will be included in a patch next week so that the node works on its own.
The same bug exists with the Elemental Tranquility node.

Neither affects the other, you get both effects in full.
Yes, they stack multiplicatively. So if you're getting 10% increased unique item drop rate from a minimum roll winds of fortune, and you have the 50% more unique drop rate from the event, you'll have a total of 65% more unique drop rate.

The damage reduction from endurance technically is always active (it helps against 1-shots from full health), but it only reduces damage to your health that is covered by your endurance threshold. It doesn't affect damage to ward nor mana.

We are running 3 people and one of us didn't get to chose a blessing for the completion. So quick question if anyone can answer it. I use to be able to use minon attack command with "A" and would get red arrows pointing to that location as they aggressively moved toward that spot. This allowed commanding them to move forward in front and control their aggro range. Just came back after a break for the new patch and I am unable to use that command with "A" on the controller. Were there changes or a way to still use it.

shouldn't be, you might have to reset to default keybindings, we had a bug like 6 months back that needed that to fix it. You might be getting hit with that.

Hello, with the increase to experimental drops for the event is there any chance it's messed up the exiled mages dropping uniques? My son and I have killed well over 30 mages and neither of us has gotten a single unique from them. I'm all for understanding bad rng but that seems a tad unlikely especially with 50% increased unique drops and being CoF? Just curious if there is a known issue or not, thanks!
We've talked about it. We don't have plans for it at the moment. I don't hate the idea but it needs some massaging. We've seen it suggested many times.
The big problem is that putting an item in always does something to it and if you can put a 1LP item in, you'll get stats instead of more LP a very disproportionate amount of the time.

It depends on where those mages are. 30 in a row with nothing is getting into suspicious territory but nothing where I'm rushing off to test it.
Probably worth revisiting at some point to make only the abusive aspect of it not echo, itd be a pretty decent damaging skill if it could echo, but that's just an aside. Too niche to make a suggestion on. Anyway, thanks Mike!
I think its default behavior of being a combo skill might break it for being echoed. But maybe a suggestion for adding the ability to echo to the Immediacy node (that removes the combo) or a follow-on node from it would be good.
Mages in monos, specifically reign of dragons lakeside trail echo. Just being honest here, learned that if you load in next to a shrine/mage/harbinger/etc you can just keep loading in and out of the mono and farming harbingers/mages. Been farming mages for a few hours and just got our first unique, merophage. And we're killing a mage every minute give or take. Just seems off to me because last cycle it seemed they always dropped a unique from their pool, at least we never killed a mage and didn't get a unique. Maybe the rng flipped...lol π But 2 people killing a mage every minute or so and 1 unique in that amoutn of time..shrug
not to mention the drop rates for uniques is 50% higher.....so definitely is abnormal
Just for what it's worth, the 50% unique drop rate boost is for random drops, not boss-specific drops like merophage.

This char obviously was moved to legacy realm - I wanted to run a few monoliths and noticed that stats from my gear weren't applied to my character. In cycle I level the MG faction and hence most of my gear is MG gear, which requires certain faction levels. In legacy, my faction progress was resetted to 1. I suspect that's why my gear doesn't work anymore. Is this for real, that I can't play a former cycle character in legacy anymore because of this?

Hi there. I'm trying to play LE on my linux machine. After setting the game to fullscreen, the game crashed. I want to be able to reset that setting to borderless window again as it worked nicely before but every time I open up the game, it crashes before it loads the initial menu screen. Is there a way for me to change the settings via a config file perhaps?

Hey EHG team, congrats on a successful patch deployment. I had a question: Iβve been really enjoying the performance of Last Epoch so far, but it can get dramatic frame dips at times. Even with recent memory leak fixes and rebooting the exe, the performance does suffer. I was wondering if thereβs any chance we might see support for DLSS in the future? Iβm not sure if this would even help but wanted to get feedback from the EHG team on it.
Has there been any discussion or plans around DLSS, or is it something youβd consider adding down the line? Thanks in advance!
So I noticed that this awesome cycle refresh ends pretty soon on October 20th but I understand the next cycle isn't until next year? What's going to happen between this ending and the next cycle?
from what I understand what ends its the "Event" with the buffs to xp, gold... but it keeps after that as a common "cycle", and u keep all ur characters, gear, gold...

DLSS is not possible on the current used version of Unity. But there they have been working on updating the Engine Version to allow that (among other things)

Hi, I have a question regarding calculation of my damage for a build using excel spreadsheet. I calculate damage using in-game formulas so resulting average hit in-game is close enough to the calculated value for my calculations being valid. But in-game I have random numbers every hit done in the similar conditions (so no buffs, debuffs, the same enemy every time, the same distance, zone level, mana, etc.). Example:
Calculated value: 1200 damage normal hit, 4600 critical hit. Real value: 1000-1400 normal hit, 3800-5500 critical hit with rare fluctuation beyond these numbers.
I have no clue where these number coming from because there are no random values on my gear, base damage of skill is fixed (and equal to 2, as it is for the most non-throwing attack skills), there are no passives that imply randomness, and so on.
Does base damage of weapons considered random despite described as fixed (i.e. +60 bow damage it is actually +45-75 bow damage)? Or base damage of skill may be fluctuated, smth like from -8 to +12 instead of fixed 2 specified in LE database? I would like to understand real numbers of damage provided by my build and mechanics underlying there.
there's a 20% damage roll range in the game. By 20% it means +10%/-10%, i asked this myself few months ago
From my experience, it is more like -20%/+20%, but I might be wrong in calculations. Are these % applied to base damage, final base damage (i.e. from weapon implicit + flat damage affixes/mods) or final damage after inc% and more% modifiers?
If 1 or 2 it might explain final dispersion more than +-10%

I have encountered several new shrines called Explorer's Shrine. It Creates A Portal To The Dungeon's Floor Exit. Every time I use one of these, nothing happens. What is its function?? I've seem then in dungeons and monoliths.
It should open up a little blue/black portal that you can click on to teleport (one-way) to one of the two exit doors at random; so far they've worked for me. If you see them anywhere other than a dungeon, or they fail to create a portal, please report it using the in game bug reporting tool.

Is the drop rate for golden / obsidian resonance known publicly?
I have played every season, many, maaaaany hours in each and have yet to have a single obsidian resonance drop - all these hours have also been with friends so the ability for it to drop should be enabled.

No, the drop rate is not public. How much of those 230 hours did you play in a party? (they only drop in a party)
Most of the time I've played with one friend or two - very rarely play by myself as I don't really like single player experiences π
Been getting golden resonances like there's no tomorrow but, 0 obsidian resonances.
Similar boat as you, my son and I play exclusively together and have over 30 hrs since reset played together and we have gotten a single obsidian. Doesn't help much but might give you some context on spent time together
prophecies use lvl 100 areas as a base for their drops right?
If a prophecy requires lv.100 arena, it will say T4.
Just to add context to this question, in the past we've heard that area level affects prophecies, but it definitely doesn't limit it like normal. How does area level affect them, if at all? (#π¨βask-the-devs-not-support-no-bugs message)
Any chance of giving a bit more love to wisp minions for the Acolyte? I really love the Soul Wisp and Poison Wisp that spawn from Drain Life and Spirit Plague nodes, and I wish they weren't so rare and short lived.

why do I seem to have to do the harbringer everytime i want to do the final boss of a emp monolith fishing for blessing. I can handle the normal boss just fine, i dont want to do the harbringer but no matter if i have crest checked or not it keeps spawning and i keep dying to it not the normal boss i should be getting blessing after
It's supposed to make a portal right next to the shrine. I have noticed that recently shrines that spawn things in the world can sometimes be offset in dungeons, so the portal might have spawned elsewhere in the dungeon floor (still a bug though, please report using the in game tool).
100% chance to apply a spark charge per hit, not per use, plus you aren't "using" Spark Charge, you are using the skill that applies it.
TLDR; yes you can apply 50+ spark charges per second right now
It is a known issue that just switching from the legacy to 1.0 or 1.1 stash tabs freezes the game? I don't even have the opportunity to click on the Merge Materials and Resources before the client freezes. Changing character does not help.
does my "healing effect" scale my healing totem heals or only "minion healing effect" ?
without testing i cant say for sure, but my hunch would be that it wouldnt increase the healing being done by the minion. It increases player healing from my understanding
it does however look like the skil scales with attunment for healing effectiveness if you want to increases its output another way
yeah i knew about attunement but i was hoping to double dip by building H.E on top of attunement stacking
