will resonances usage allow be back or forth gifting, like items gifted while playing together? or only one way or only if I use another resonance?
Once you use a resonance, the item can be gifted back on forth freely between you and the player named on the resonance, as if it was dropped when you played together

Where can I find some information about future content extensions put in a longer perspective? Will content be added as a part of new cycles? Will there be any new content every cycle or will it be rather expansion based?
You mean a roadmap?
If by expansions you mean buying more game content with real world money, then there won't be any. Every major update is (and has been) like an expansion of varying size and that is how it will continue to go; cycles will almost definitely always line up with major updates.
there isnt really a roadmap past 1.0 right now. new cycles are supposed to be every 3-4 months(not super concrete). right now nothing is being said past 1.0.
I'm not 100% sure but I think they do. I just unspecced as much as possible, with 1 rank in Laceration I hit the dummy with an unspecced rip blood near the end of spirit plague's duration and saw 8-9-9-9-10 (or close) several times in a row. I did it again after adding 3 ranks to "Exsanguination" and saw closer to 21-21-21-21-23 (or close) several times in a row
I'm not sure the More multipliers are applying though. The penetraiton seems to work, but I'm seeing closer to 9's and such without any penetration but with 2 ranks in Rotten to the Core and 2 ranks in Concentrated Rot.
it directly increases mob hp and damage. it gives you more rarity for items, not quantity
and rarity is just bigger chance for uniques?
rarity is just "better drops" more affixes, more exalts, more uniques, more sets
as long as your build can handle the corruption, no reason to not get it

I think Steve might have just mis-remembered or maybe they changed their naming, because in the past, the stance has been 0.9, which we are currently playing right now, is Cycle 0. (Not that it matters much)

At 1.0 the cycle system is in place and you can create cycle characters. Due to the fact that the game content for cycle and legacy will be the same at launch, some people prefer to call that Cycle 0.

Do you guys plan on including buffs like concentration in the status bar so we know when it's up or not? Or will those buffs always be something for micromanagement?
That buff is always up and shows an icon when it falls off. So a debuff icon. Same same, just something to get used to

What is the situation with buff icons, I see that there are some buff effects which have an icon in the lower left and there are some buffs that do not. Should I report any I find without a buff icon as a bug, or as a suggestion to include it as an icon?

Hello, i have noticed the performance and FPS of the game getting worse the longer i play. After 1-2 Hours my FPS are down from 100+ at the start to like 40-50... the only thing helping is restarting the game like every hour. Is there any fix for that?
My setup: rtx2080s, ryzen 3600x 32gig ram NVME ssd
also it does not matter if play on all low settings or all ultra, it allways happens after like an hour.
Hi, not sure if it was discussed, but I would like to know thoughts on trading. What's the final goal / expectations on end game trading system? Will it play big part? Will it be used just for 2-3 end game items per character? I have nearly 500hours in LE over the years- never really felt that I would need trade as it is easy enough to obtain items. I love trading but only game I can compare with good trading system is POE. And POE due to it's currency (orbs etc) uses trading extremely well- even you not upgrading your gear every day, you still using trading not stop for currency and many other things. BTW, super exited for 1.0 , will have to take couple days of work for it, LE deserves that 😄 Feel like LE will grow big!
if u never felt like needing to trade than u probably didnt minmax or never chased really high lp items, LE has easy acess for strong items, but in my experience BIS items are almost impossible/very hard to obtain, MG will help a ton with it as well as helping newbies quickly gear up with cheap mediocre exalts imo
You are right, I didn't minmax or stayed on 1 character for long enough to get bis gear. But that's what the question is. Will trade be used only for couple bis items for the end game?
Hello! I really like this game but I have a big trouble. I losing connection to server when changing area in game. It happens maybe 4 of 5 times, so I can repass one area many times in a row. Could you help me?
i would say so as well as idols(huge market for it) and if you swapped to a new build and want to get basic gear easy
- verify files thru steam. 2) pick a different server(even worse ping may lead to a more stable connection. Eu west players can sometimes have more stable connection on Na east. 3) can try using a vpn to try and bypass isp issues (there are free ones available)

Server choice is just a "login option", you're not bound to it.
New mtx are coming in 1.0, too, but we don't know what they'll look like.
i have a very dumb and simple question. if we have the master volume of LE turned down, when 1.0 launches will there be a video that plays before the character screen or will it go straight to the character screen. i want to make sure my audio is on the current settings so i dont miss this.
The new intro video plays at the same point it plays now, after you have created your character.

We don't have a set date they will be removed. The only thing you are in jeopardy of missing out on is the golden guppy pre-order pet. This is included with all pre-purchases and you don't need to get the deluxe or ultimate edition to get it.

How difficult is it to introduce new weapon types to the game? I was just thinking about how cool single-handed crossbows are (D3 Demon Hunter enjoyer, obviously).
Difficulty, low. Time, high. Every attack animation for every class that can use it needs a new variant for that new weapon type.

Ghostflame's Arteries of Malice node says it converts all sources of ignite and damned chance to bleed chance per second. Does this include damned and ignite chance on hit? Or would you have to also get the other node that converts them to per second first?
I read that as on hit too. It would be a pretty crap node if it didn't include on hit sources too.
True! It wouldn't be useless since the tree includes two nodes that give ignite/damned per second, so I wasn't sure. Thanks Mike.
So sorry to step in, but the node on Glyph of Dominion that uses your ignite chance, I believe it uses all of your ignite chance, including ignite on hit with fire skills so in theory it would work with bleed on hit with physical skills, but it wouldnt get something like damned on hit with necrotic skills

For lethal concentration, where it says your generic damage and poison damage are shared as poison damage. Does generic damage mean stuff like added physical, increased physical, added lightning, increased lightning etc. Is it saying all types of damage are shared with them as poison?
For this: Anything that would buff poison damage is also copied onto your rogues
(Generally: increased damage, increased poison damage, increased dot damage)

If you bought an ancient champion pack. You will get the ancient champion pack content. The new packs with new names doesnt affect you, unless you want to buy them to get the new (and different) mtx that comes with them.

The kickstarter pack names were very different. Alpha packs were all "Ancient xxx", Beta packs were "Ardent xxx" & now we have the standard/deluxe/ultimate versions (not packs) plus the 4 "Eternal xxx" packs.

POE have something like 8 min until map reset or you reset it manualy by entering map with ctrl. Here i leave map and enter and everything is resetted automaticaly which isnt good. I was leaving map and entering again to collect a treasure in a same place.
Those should be appearing on map randomly on different spots but last epoch have everything on same spot after reentering map.

It was an intentional decision to make gearing and looting less interruptive to the main gameplay loop. Selling isn't beneficial as to encourage it you would be travelimg back and forth too much. Now you get more gold just doing the maps and you can easily filter out the lesser geae
Its not about loot, but when we are cleaning map and i come back from city i cant continue clearing map, because it starting from beginning.

early, the game's at an early stage in it's life cycle, PoE has had well over a decade to fine-tune this & that, optimize so-and-so

I hope also for many many items with drop rate 0,01% 0,001% and 0,0001% so farming never end in game and there are going to be items basically not possible to loot but there.

There is no account-bound status for items. Current items and characters will be moved to legacy (like standard/eternal) and all your items will be untradeable. They are all still giftable like normal.

where does Last Epoch lie between Diablo series and PoE in terms of progression and how 'gamey' it is
like diablo is not every story-driven but it still has things here and there that make sense
PoE though while playing PoE and watching footage of endgame stuff it kinda feels like the environment is just there to be there and i can find just about anything anywhere
basically will i feel like i am playing a game ? while playing Last Epoch or will i feel immersed in the experience enough to 'forget' i have the HUD and operate with it subconciously while having fun with the game

A while, they have intentionally not given exact numbers. If you want to buy an item with the intention of gifting it to a friend, you are better off "buying" a trash item from them to give them the gold to buy it themselves. (Unless you already have the resonance you need)

Devs i found another annoying thing in game. When we are storaging our shards into storage with shift + right click it doesnt stack them. It shoulb automaticaly stack same types on one place.

We will treat it the same as the possibility of expanding into any other platform. We will weigh the cost benefit of it. Personal opinion, the cost would need to be crazy low and we would need to have a colossal shift in Mac user interest. You can't even see the point in the player count graph where we dropped Mac support last time.

hello Mike, we do some tests and looks like bleeds from Cloven Flesh( bone curse) and Laceration(spirit plague) dont use any more multipliers from skills tree ( both curse and skill that hit) and % from attributes doesn't work too, HOWEVER bleeds from hits DO benefit from Exsanguination (spirit plague)

We don't have any plans for it at the moment. I can see the appeal. A bug problem with it though is that if overall power drops, the top spot will never change.
It's less about the chip now and more about the cost per patch per platform. Every platform we add makes updating the game more time consuming to test and validate. It also adds more platform specific bugs and takes dev time away from adding new features.

Why do points immediately get allocated to skills when you click on them? Example, leveling fireball and clicking on a skill, that point is immediately allocated with no warning. Would be nice if there was a way to confirm skills before that point is gone and you have to respec/relevel the skill again to get that point back if you misclicked.
You don't need to click on them to see what they do, you can just hover over them.
Respeccing is also very easy, and just requires getting a bit more xp

No. Have you looked into the dungeons as skips to get you into a harder section and do it faster? We do have an opt in difficulty system that is also coming in 1.0 but that's not specific to the campaign.
Yes, the rest of the content is great in that regard. Just the idea of increasing campaign difficulty piqued my interest, but I think I've seen talk in places around here about potetlntial uber bosses beyond empowered Monos, etc.

I wouldn't say it's not thematic really, the primary mode that the ability has is melee damage and this is the most generic way to do that. I guess it could be considered to possibly change if necessary to like physical damage which could account for bleed and physical throwing variants. Just about the only thing more generic we could do is just straight damage but that's a little too generic I think.

Those all count as curses. I don't think there are any others on top of those and new new ones.
Anything which reacts to the state of the game is against the ToS. I don't think we have specified if attaching to the game process is ok or not but I think that anything which does would only do so to react to the state of the game. This to me implies that would make it not necessarily ok or not but the instant it did anything, it would become not ok.

there is one case where it provides quite serious gaming advantage over what humans can do and its on runemaster invocations, with high casting speed(which u need a lot on good build) its very easy to mess up and cast the wrong invocation while macros give 100% accuracy which is serious boost in dps because messed up invocation puts it on cd so u lose a lot of dmg...so its quite unfair especially if we are talking abt arena ladder.
other than that i dont know any cases of it providing actual gaming advantages

Yea, the people who didn't start the echo get a choice between 2 weighted rewards. They roll at the same rate as the one you did.
@placid plinth Kudos to the team on CoF/Merchants solution; one area I have been thinking about though is this going to create a significant difference to players of each faction w/ regards to inventory space?
- Value of gold appears to be significantly different between the two factions. In Merchant you are ultimately splitting you gold between buying items and inventory space where as CoF you have an influx of "items" you gain but also alot more disposable gold. Have you guys done any deep dives into this to determine if any counter measures need to be put in place to ensure one faction vs the other doesn't feel unfairly challenging to maintain adequate inventory space?
- I fully appreciate different players have different focus and inventory management strategies but just as 1 data point...probably the WORST complaint I have on this game is too limited inventory space. I strive to find builds that people don't always think about that aren't meta and really push the envelope. This requires a decent collection of gear to experiment etc. Currently I am still constantly not picking up exalted mods that i'd like to keep to try and roll but just dont have the room.
- Before someone trys and blindly invalidate the above saying OMG i have no issues and i have X.....good for you. I have 4500 hrs on steam with LE, i greatly enjoy it and build crafting. I very clearly understand how to value gear and its crafting potentially etc, I think i am at close to 1M a stash tab and thats having culled alot of stuff and now having to be very selective on what I pick up. Just really diminishes the fun and does not create any sesne of "risk vs reward" or "skilled inventory management". Just plain limits the experience with no inverse value.
- I know its against your guys design vision but I still can't not fathom why you dont let us buy inventory space. It doesn't provide direct "power" gains, it is defendable as a game provide as there is a direct scaling of costs from a storage/server etc for us having more items etc. Let me reward you for your good work in a way that gives me better QoL and doesnt directly impact "pay to play" etc. I'd drop a few hundred dollars in a heart beat just to reward the dev team and allow me to enjoy the game to its fullest. 4

Turbo you could play offline and give yourself gold if it's really a big problem. Not a perfect answer but I don't thi k what you want will ever be changed to the way you want it. You could also play each season instead and have a 3 months (or whatever) reset to your inventory.

You sell items for gold in the Bazaar, so if anything the Bazaar will have easier access to raw gold (but not as ready access to items to sell for that gold)

I think there is going to be some adjustments that are needed after we see how people are interacting with the system on a larger scale. It's really really hard to predict how people will actually interact with the system.

For stash tabs transition to the standard server at end cycles, will they just be added or have restrictions similar to POE etc that you can't use as normal storage?

there is a technical conern about the total tabs yes. certain functions like stash wide search are going to limit the functionality. Already if you fill 200 tabs of rings and search for health, the whole things grinds to a crawl. There is also the storage size concern the coinsider. I don't think either of these are insurmountable or pushed to their limits yet.
give me more stashs 🙂 I quit my long term Gacha game to stay fully dedicated to LE going forward at least until Ashes of Creation. Just hate idea of wasting time not picking up the gear i want.

You guys could fix this by being the first ARPG to implmenet an enemy that steals items from your stash when it hits you and forcibly lists them on the bazaar and if they sell you get a 1/4 of the profit!! Might be even more revolutionary then the item faction system! /s

What do you guys think about losing gold on death instead of something like XP? I know currently there are no xp death penalties but maybe losing gold on death could still make dying scary while not losing permanent character progress since you can use your gold up. Has something like this been a discussion before?

There could be T8 with 0,01% , T9 with 0,001% T10 with 0,0001% chance of drop. For example Ragnarok Online was dropping one mvp card every 2 years on server. Just one. I hope this will be having something similar. Its awfull to see after 2 - 3months everyone having last tiers of items. There should be something in game but really not possible to get. Like 0,001% chance only from Bosses T10 weapons and armors but each tiers is only 10% stonger then before one. T8 stronger 10% then T7 and T9 stronger 10% then T8 and last one T10 but drop rate to get those is incredible low. Basically its like a win in lotto. One man or two man in a year on server. This will keep market alive for years, grinding never boring and game always interesting.

Does anyone know; with the new warlock skills that "spread" poison, if I have two enemies, one with 10 stacks and one with 15 stacks, would they both spread to each other and go up to 25 stacks? If I use the "spread" immediately again, do they go up to 50 each or does it somehow track which stacks have already spread to which enemy?
Mike I'm so confused. Does that mean that the second Cycle must have different content for Cycle and Legacy or it can't be called Cycle 1? If that happened would it be something like Cycle 0.1? So we might have the 0th Cycle on launch and the 0.1th Cycle three months later? I know you're not championing this, but maybe you can help me understand the logic here. As a streamer who gets asked about the first Cycle literally ten times a day right now, I don't know how I'm supposed to explain to them that 1.0 is the '0th' Cycle.

In my mind, Feb 21st marks the start of the First Cycle. The name is rather arbitrary. I generally call this Cycle 1 as that's how I think of it. Other games have set a precedent that an initial launch without cycle exclusive content is called Cycle 0. I don't really care what we call it so let's go with Cycle 0 as the First Cycle. I disagree with the idea of a cycle requiring cycle exclusive content.
As far as I'm concerned a new cycle requires these 2 things.
- The ladder resets.
- Everyone starts fresh.
Now, when we start a new cycle, we (along with the other games) also line it up with the release of a large patch and content drop. This can optionally include cycle exclusive content.
All details about future cycles is subject to change without notice. The Second Cycle will start sometime in the future (you know the goal for the timing), and it may or may not have cycle exclusive content. If it does, it will probably be very minimal. I think a good example of the sort of cycle exclusive content that we might start with is some unique items or a new crafting material maybe. Just to cover my ass on this, those are not necessarily and not necessarily not, the things that we have planned for 1.1 and beyond.
One really nice thing about calling this Cycle 0 that I just noticed as I typed "1.1" out is that the patch number would line up with the cycle number. So I'm going to advocate for calling 1.0, Cycle 0.

I'm not familiar with any other games that have created this precedent. D4 had a preseason, but it was truly not the first season and all the characters created the Eternal realm. There was no differentiator between any characters at that point. Regardless, I'm not understanding how those of us who are talking about and promoting the game are expected to handle explaining to players that the first cycle is actually cycle 0 and the second cycle is actually cycle 1. We're naturally going to call it the first and second cycle, so by Cycle 1 it's going to be very confusing to players who aren't regularly keeping up. People are going to be talking about the second Cycle but it'll look like we're actually going into the first. New players especially are going to be very confused.
I noticed the other trailer is called "Eterra's Light". Is that the name of something else or just that trailer?

They matter in explanation. Trying to explain to a player who is asking about the cycles that the second cycle is actually Cycle 1 is unnecessary confusion with no upside.
It's the 1st cycle and won't be referred to by the community at large as 0 cycle. 0 is special in math but when you count you don't start at 0; it's illogical. Launch cycle is better than cycle 0.

Does something like frost claw lose its freeze rate when converted? Since on stuff like the lightning blast cold conversion node it states the freeze rate it gets (since it originally has none). But the lightning conversion node on frost claw doesn't state that it removes the freeze rate of the skill.

Generally speaking it should be always reset if the conversion is from cold to something else, but there could be errors in code hypothetically.
In this case freeze rate is set to 0, I just checked.

If you're talking about online characters, they will remain online but just not be part of the new Cycle (season/ladder/league). They won't be deleted or moved to offline.
You can continue to play now without any worries about losing progress.
Mark of the Rat (Warlock). Is that like a passive?
Because it states that when you apply Mark for Death to you or an enemy from any source it will spread your poison and damned stacks but there is no conditional, even though it is on the Profane Veil tree
I know that it probably means on when it's active but newer players might be confused by that

Maybe something like World bosses, Unique locations available during these "events" and maybe increased world difficulty modifiers as examples.
Monoliths are where nearly everyone resides after the campaign and what not and the development towards it is awesome. But the world maps would be cool to revisit after a time as well with each clearing of the campaign story offering the player to restart with everything they have but replaying with an added difficulty modifier like how monoliths work.

to preface this question, i've killed my fair share of t4 julra. What was the design decision to having the spinning lasers during that fight? It significantly hinders melee far more than ranged, especially when she goes into the lasered areas. If they were slower and didn't form a small circle of safety I could see the decision, but as it is right now It's basically a waiting game for melee characters.
@pine dome Yes, but Twin Fangs is worded to give a bonus "while you have Aspect of the Panther," and not that it affects Aspect of the Panther directly. There's unfortunately a lot of ambiguous or outdated language used on skill nodes so it's hard to know if it's worded this way intentionally or if it's just another clumsily written text.
They really should go through all the text before 1.0 because it's mighty frustrating playing a numbers-based game when you can't rely on those numbers due to ambiguity.

Currently in the shaman tree for earthquake (i know shaman is getting changes) EQ is converted to a spell, but its very clunky because the ability itself is a melee ability, but stops scaling with melee tags. Currently there isnt a lot of melee weapons (especially 1handers) that can have spell tags (like you cant get spell famage leeched as life on an axe for example).
my questions: would there ever be a consideration to allow something like 50% of melee stats to effect the scaling for EQ once its been converted. this would most likely be on the talent node itself, to allow this skill to really be built around

First up I love the game and style it brings. But I have noticed issues from the technical side when playing multiplayer. Bugs were reported via the tool inside the game but this is more of a technical side question. From what I have noticed each time a person leaves the map (ports to town) the instance is reset only for that player. This to me would suggest that the game instance is tied to the player object and not the situation where you would have an instance running on the server to which players would connect to and then share the state across. My technical question is: Is it intentional for instances to behave in such a way ?

I understand the work situation of dev studios on release dates. However I assume that this issue leads to multiple blocking bugs when playing multiplayer. The issue of resetting instances is minor but what I assume is happening is a de-sync state between quest and player instances leading to blocked quests / loading screens. Would you maybe then just consider looking into it due to the impact of the architecture on the playability of multiplayer ? I understand the overhead this would create, I really do, but it looks like it is creating stability issues that should be addressed if not now due to release date then in future for the sake of stability and future integration.

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're getting at there but I can add some more context. When a server has no occupants at all, it shuts itself down and adds itself back to the pool to be used again. When you change your quest state for a given zone, that information is recorded on your character and any time you open a new server of that zone, it is set to the same quest state as what you were in before. There were several situations where those scene state graphs had mistakes in them, this was causing bugs for some players who leave zones and return.

Hey Mike, I did report it but just wanted to check if you knew that a fix was coming : skeletal mage node that converts it to a traversal skill, when paired with the experimental affix that teleports minions with you doesn't work. It's like the affix doesn't recognize the summon skeletal mage skill.

Thank you from the context. We managed to create situations where by leaving and rejoining server we blocked the main quest, cause infinete loading screens. From our expirience it is fixed by reloading server or logging out. From that point i assumed that server info is reset if there are no players in it and that there could be a posibility of architecture issue so i wanted just to ask the question. Bugs with repro steps were reported and i hope it will be of help. I realy like the game tho. Ty for the time.

Is there a particular reason that arena keys sell so much higher than even other rare items? They currently sell for more than 3000% more gold than other keys or any set item all of which are not very common drops. Only ask because I would like to sell items for a bit more gold and noticed this
Oh, there are just no subtitles at all in the current version.
It's content that is fairly unrewarding in an item sense so we know some people will never do it. This makes the keys have some value to those people.

Gotcha. Wasn’t really thinking about it as gamemode more so just rare item vs rare item and the gold value behind it. I’m sure there are players out there that make use of set items. Just haven’t used almost any of them in hundreds of hours and also don’t see them often get dropped, but I’m sure that the data shows most players at least dabble with them and again yea gamemode vs item at the end of the day so thx for the insight

Hey I was watching one of the developer interviews about hideouts, and I was wondering if a fishing feature could make it in the game? I'm talking standing in town with your friends while someone is afk and you have 10 minutes to kill but just wanna chill... You could tie it to the crafting mechanic so that it rewards you with the different scrolls and glyphs. One game I really loved the fishing implementation of was Rohan online as you could get these special skill gems that could be sold to others or used on one of the skills to make it's effects stronger in some way. Maybe such a system would be a good fit? (Could even "fish" for other creatures? ;))

We need to finish making the core systems and expand the end game before we can look to things like this very much. We have discussed doing a fishing mechanic for this purpose but I suspect we will want to put our own twist on the system.

The very short version is that we don't have any plans to do any battle pass style system. Our current thinking on the matter is that it's not a good fit for LE. On top of that, there is a pretty heavy negative press hurdle to get over with it too.
Personally, I've never bought a battle pass. I generally find them to be very arbitrary and often have questionable elements. However, I do not believe that battle passes are inherently bad. In fact, I think that in the right type of game a well made battle pass could actually be really fantastic for the game. I haven't taken a look at all the different ones out there but I haven't found one that I really liked yet.
Edit: If anyone knows of a really good one, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Not really, that's kinda the problem for me haha. My opinion of that they can be good is not something I can really back up with anything yet. I like ones that give you goals that naturally cause you to explore the game and work out how to unlock them. I feel like a really good one would not run on a flat xp system but rather an achievement based one. Or maybe both actually.
As I'm typing this I'm realizing that there are often elements of this in survival games. Situations where it's like "to upgrade your base, build a, b and c." Then you have to go figure out how to do that. It probably doesn't need to be quite that diegetic but I think leaning that way would help.
Deep Rock Galactic has a "battle pass", but it's free and really just serves as a fun thing to encourage interacting with the new/seasonal mechanics (for an example of a good one I've seen)
Battlepasses with mtx also have this weird thing that popularity kills it. Everyone running around with same stupid skins at the same time.

Warframe's Nightwave is basically a battle pass-lite that I think is, IMO, completely non-intrusive to the player experience.
I little question about skill design nodes, there has been several issues over past years with uncapped damage nodes, and almost all the time builds that have it came out significantly overtuned (static orb,abomination, old umbral blades,bug swarm bleed pop, mana judgment, infernal shade with dread shade refreshment), whats the devs pov on that,is more of "we put it in and if its crazy we will nerf it" or its better to avoid it, cause one more skill like that seems to be added to the game
We may have been a little fast and loose with some of those types of mechanics in early access. It really seems that people like them though. So we probably don't want to do away with them completely. We don't put a node in if we are sure it's going to need emergency nerfing or anything like that. I have seen a couple nodes go in that we weren't quite sure if they were going to "go off" or not. Most of the time they don't.
A good battle pass is one without FOMO; Being able to select older ones to grind out. I don't recall a game that actually does this, though. >_>

Achievement based and you can unlock the 40/40 “track” in any order in exchange for mtx rewards. In recent leagues, GGG do try to make challenges that basically get players to explore the different content/mechanics available within the league.
You don't need to exchange them for mtx

NVM seen the post in the forum.
GW2 has "reward tracks" which are somewhat similar to a battle pass as a main way to dispense rewards from some types of content (competitive PVP, WvW), but they aren't really a battle pass and they don't have FOMO. Might be a good example.
But this might be a reasonable solution for reward structure in some game modes that currently lack it i.e. in arena
GW2 actually has a "battle pass", it's called Wizard's Vault. It was added in the latest expansion. And they add rewards to a legacy tab each cycle, raising the currency price a bit
I haven't really played the last expansion but I always thought that it was a hybrid of WOW trading post and the previous daily/monthly quest system. And judging by how much it was complained about it wasn't a great implementation either.

Quick question: i love Playing the Mage with its traversal cooldown on Potion use. The Downtime of its build is to cast the Potion everytime after Teleporting. I Thought of using a Makro on Mouse where everytime i Teleport it uses a Potion afterwards. So The Makro for the Mousebutton will be ( W 10ms 1). So is it Bannable or is it Acceptable
Some of those achievements are crazy though, while they do promote exploring other content in the game, the grindy ones are just tedious, no one can possibly "want" to do 100 uber labs etc
man lab runners do 100 labs in a day
and as a person with adhd, I either 100% want to do something, or I don't there is no "I will just grind it out anyway"
there are people that like sticking their nuts in a vice, I'd like to think they are a very small minority though as that cannot be fun!

There will never be balance with classes, look at all the current top tier arpgs, a handful of classes/builds always dominate, thinking about it. Q for devs, will we see any significant balance adjustments to ward for 1.0? Thinking Cleaver Solution etc 20,000 ward on a wearbear is basically immortal.

thats why that specific one is skippable tho... Its the grindy challenge to make you wanna play longer, but its nothing insane.
If you are someone who can reach level 100 for instance, you can skip the 80 bosses and 250 lab chests, because the others (Wisp T16, Scarab tiers and rare monsters with 4 mods) are INCREDIBLY easy. So really you just pick 1/3 of the leftover and get it over.
For instance, i took Alva temples. In trade they go around 30-40c each, and take at most 2m to run. Doing 80 seems like a lot, but doing 8 batches of 10 is pretty fast, and spread out enough that i dont feel like i really "grinded". This league was by far the easiest 40/40 ever tho i feel like

First I would like to say me and my friends love Last Epoch and cannot wait for 1.0 release.
I know that this has been brought up multiple times, however I still think it's important to share our point of view.
I hope you reconsider the limitation on Masteries not being able to be reset, this ultimately reduces the level of replayability and restricts experimentation. Wanting to test Forge Guard, while playing Paladin shouldn't require a complete new character and going over the campaign again. I even believe that it will incentivize people to create a new character if they can switch between the masteries at a later stage, test the feel decide if it's worth the effort to level from scratch.

Question regarding end game gear progression in 1.0. Currently it seems very easy to get to lets say 75% perfect gear. Finding upgrades after that point feels like it can take months just to even get to 85% perfect gear. Item factions seem like they will help improve the gear progression curve.
I was wondering what your thoughts are on gear progression overall and on 1.0 compared to live. Should it be possible for a cycle character to get near BiS gear by the time a cycle ends?

I think BiS is a term that works really well in an MMO. I've had this debate so many times and I can never get a clean answer when I ask this. I'm not sure why really. Is a anti-perfectly rolled unique with 4LP and the best stats applied, all rolled the worst possible, BiS?

Yea its good to state obvious things because there is so much misunderstandings about when improvements come in , this is my personal opinion :)
For me personally BiS has a looser meaning in an arpg compared to an mmo. Usually implying that an item has all your desired stats at a high-ish (not necessarily perfect) roll. LP items I would categorize differently due to the low drop rates of LP items and luck needed to get the right stats added. A BiS LP item would be any LP item that has your desired stats no matter how they rolled IMO. In your example, yes I would say that is BiS

With that definition (which I agree with), yes, I think it's reasonable for someone to get BiS gear in a cycle. It's not something that someone playing for 5 hours a week will likely get to though. (making up numbers)

Hello i am from germany (west in particular) and i have a big concern regarding server stability. I was testing coop with a friend yesterday and i got horrible lag spikes, while he had none. Didnt change regardless who invited for the party i allways had between 20ms and 250ms with a average of like 170ms and loading times between 30-45sec.
Is this something you monitor and try to anticipate to fix for the launch? Since LE will be on heavy demand because of a certain "bad season" from another game we dont mention here. Also same lag spikes in coop today...

We currently intend for all content to be possible as a solo player. We also don't currently have any 5+ player combat zones planned. To me a raid constitutes more players as a key component. So while I won't say that it's impossible, it's very unlikely.
Expanding the end game in other ways is going to be our main focus with upcoming cycle patches.
So we can expect more monoliths in the future too?
I think there is a potential issue we could run into with too many timelines. We do have monolith plans. It might be that some timelines cycle in and out, we might just add more, we might do other stuff too. It was designed specifically with a few avenues of updates and expansions ready for us. Lots of potential.

Currently it feels like the werebear is the best user of Entangling Roots (and several other skills tbh), and the best totem user ends up being the spriggan rather than the shaman. Any plans to move around some of the skills between the primalist masteries to better focus on their respective fantasies? Personally I'd like to see an easier/better way to cast Entagling Roots in spriggan form.

Not directly. The only way to transfer gold to another player is through a MG transaction.

Base types as in Helmet, 1H Sword, Amulet, no.
Sub types as in Ruby Amulet, Topaz Amulet, yes, we've actually already shown off the art for some of them in the trailer.

These two "gambles" from the CoF vendor look like new bases, because they're only used for uniques currently (Pyre of Affliction & Lament of the Lost Refuge)

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I noticed that the death blossom node in summon skeleton mage doesn't seem to use the hungering souls skill tree for the death knights. Is this intentional or is this a glitch?
For example, I have the Isolation node allocated in hungering souls that makes it 1 projectile and increases size and damage. I self cast it and it's fine, but the death knights still fire the smaller projectiles

You have a specialised version yourself. Your minions do not have that same skill tree. They have their own.
Which you'd only know is unique if you know your item bases to begin with I guess
I'm confused. Those are base types that you gamble with. They can be any rarity that has a valid target for that base type, So most types can't become set items.

The core story still has 3 more chapters to go. We will continue to expand the suplimentary story for years to come. There are many many locations that don't have any events at yet but do have a back story with extra yet unrevealed details.

I was wondering more along rarity types. Like we have legendary, Exalted, unique etc. But for people who are doing empowered timeline with the gauge being corruption, would there be some sort of corrupted item?
It could be the same Item but like a corrupted version of it.

I think they have worked out very well. They do have a few issues and we learned a lot from them. I can't guarantee more experimental affixes specifically but that general style of mechanic is right in line with what we want to be doing.

Hi Mike, when shatter strike "shatters" (executes) an enemy, does it do something special?
It seems like it does some kind of aoe or something, but nothing like that is mentioned on the skill as far as I know. I don't have anything like elemental burst or anything proccing off of my shatter strike.
Here's a clip to show what i mean, i clearly only hit one of the two enemies, and i have 100% melee crit chance, yet the second enemy (the further away one) dies to a none hit, which would mean it has to be a none-melee hit of some kind.

I have a question about Shurikens. If I have the "Chakram" and "Flip a Coin" nodes selected... then if I add "Bladed Armor" node, will it recognize the "Flip a Coin" for multiple Shurikens or will it recognize the "Chakram" node for its effect instead? Meaning will I be doing up to x10 armor or x1 armor?
Chakrams always limits you to one. Always
You now throw a single returning Chakram instead of multiple Shurikens. - This is a replacement effect.

Yes, all items found with another person present are eligible to be gifted to that person regardless of factions.
