What makes Weaver Uniques different from a regular legendary? Isn't it just a strict downgrade when you lose control over what affixes you can get?
If you could get the same unique items as LP uniques and WW uniques then it would be worth while to compare the power of the two options directly. The Weaver uniques also don't require an exalted to go with them.
Do Weaver Uniques gain "exp" while in your inventory or do you need to equip them to reveal the affixes you get? If You need to equip them then I can see a problem where you need to gimp your character from a well rolled item in hopes of getting something better eventually
Do we have a full list of new uniques in 0.91? Sorry if it's in the patch notes i might have missed it.
No, we don't like to spoil them all, and rather leave them for people to find in game.

Something wrong with the patch notes? I can see changes that happened in Beta 0.9L in the 0.9.1 patch notes such as Monolith modifier bug.

It's possible a bugfix that went into a hotfix may have also caught caught when collecting notes for the major patch. I can check with the team on this note to see if there's been a further change, or it just got tagged to both.
Depends how you define "plans". It's on the list of things we want to do, but hasn't been planned into a patch yet.

Ok, so i noticed the patch notes say chapters 2 and 3 have been rebalanced due to the chapter one changes. Will the time taken to complete those chapters change in any meaningful way? (i have a friend that really wishes those two chapters were shorter)
The layouts/maps of Chapter 2+ have not been changed, just their level ranges / enemy levels have been adjusted to line up with the longer chapter 1.

Both notes are applicable to 0.9.1 further changes. The dungeon fix is less 'speculative' than the hotfix change.

Rarer affixes have a higher weighting for most Weaver's Will items than normal Items (Boots alone have normal distribution)

I believe so, but not 100% positive on that - they do drop alongside normal uniques, but would need to confirm that. Thursday will tell!

Why is AFK timer only 10 minutes? Thats a huge nerf for arena pushing not in a good way. Imagine pushing to 800 and having to afk for a bit and you end up coming back and you got kicked out.

Was the 75% reduction on cursed limbs really necessary? 5 seconds to 1.25? I feel like it’s a bit odd that even with cdr anywhere you can get it you can’t get 100% uptime but I’m sure gonna try to, seems overkill. /shrug
Weaver’s Will only works off of enemies that grant experience, but the speed at which it upgrades them doesn’t scale with experience.
Does this mean the most efficient way to 'craft' WW items is to slap them on and go wherever you can kill the most enemies per hour at? Or does it scale with something else?

Is the 3 Set Piece bonus granting this bonus to the Decimate skill or is this a global bonus for the entire character?

the only thing I can think of is that someone might have asked about that and I mentioned the dungeons and how legendaries won't have higher lvl reqs any more so they will be easier to use and how we'd like to adjust the first tier of dungeons to be better at fulfilling that role.

EHG great job with 0.9.1 . Much more features than I even had expected. But one thing bothers me - why if I buy the 40$ support pack I don't get at least some items of the 20$ one? Also why same quantity of coins in packs?
These are a fairly recent addition. It makes it seem like they were more recent than they were because I just wasn't involved with them early. I'm not involved with lots of stuff though.
It is technically possible. It would however require access to things that only a handful of people have access to and we won't be going in to manually update the character database like that for a name change right now. It might be something we would consider doing in the future. For now, no.
It's the same reason that some of the individual capes are more expensive than others. The higher tier packs have higher tier items.

For this patch, Legendary items maintain their unique item's level requirement, as well as Weaver's Will Items. We want to monitor those effects on using dungeons for alternate characters.
With towns being added, will load screens for towns now be significantly longer? Currently when I play in a party all load screens take 3-4x as long, since towns now have other players... ?

Is there a chance that specialized skills will have a larger level cap, like 25-30? 20 points kinda feels small.
We have no plans to increase the base skill cap from 20. Doing so would cause all skill trees to be revamped. This is a dramatic time investment and would only be undertaken if the reasoning was very strong.

Hello! Just curious as the whether or not the upcoming supporter packs are an accumulative things (similar to PoE) or not. Couldn't figure out from the forum post itself, so thought I'd ask here.
I see. This was a misunderstanding of the issue on my part then. My forge guard was getting stuck on the echo quests, and when I saw in the patch notes that forge guards were getting stuck a few patches back I assumed that was the issue that I was facing. Minions are actors just like the player. Minion stats are basically the gear that your minions spawn with. They are just normal stats as far as the minion is concerned.

Path of Exile has "exclusive mods", where crafting 1 modifier prevents you from crafting another modifier from the same family. There is nothing like that currently in Last Epoch, but I want to be sure.
We don't have any mods which prevent another. You can put both of those prefixes on a single bow.
Hey Mike, quick question since I'm dumb. As far as I understand font of the erased will give you ward as long as your current ward is lower than your current missing health and the amount you gain per hit is dependant on your missing mana, so at 100% hp the item gives no ward correct?

Thanks mike, i was also wondering the the weaver items WW was dependant on some value like LP rolls are, as in some items are rarer to get a high WW value on than others, or if it only hinges on the level / magic find of the content you're doing

I have a question for you folks. Are you aware that you have several clipping issues, such as when I’m fighting an npc while fighting my avatar can walk right through. No damage occurs to either my avatar nor the npc. Just as an example. Occurs when close range and some longer range attacks.

What considerations were given to the shortcut to item linking? The video says it's Shift+Right Click while chat is active, meanwhile most online games i've played use Shift+Left Click.
Very few games line up perfectly with all their shortcuts. We looked at which ones we already have and tested a few options. We picked what lined up the best for our game.

I am curious about pre-load and offline mode present. Because Last Epoch will feature offline mode, does that mean pre-load for a big patch / cycle will not be a thing to avoid people use the preload to start playing new content before the server is up?

Hey devs i realize a miss match in the skill tree for sacrifice. there is a node on sacrifice tree called infernal vindication, in the text it says "grants you more damage", but in the text below it it says increased dmg, so what is it realy?
If you mean the Ladders, then nope, you don't need a new character !

The stat it says it gives you is usually what's correct, while the "description" is just that, a description which usually follows the rules of stat vocab but not always it seems. Should be fairly easy to check though, if it's increased the sheet damage shouldn't change too much but it's more the sheet damage should change quite a bit

fractured crown in of itself is a secret recipe, i once asked if the recipe i had was correct and they didn't answer because it's a secret so i doubt they'll answer your question either.

I heard in a stream that there are ways to get your progress reset for the new patch via support? Is that correct? I asked here on the Ask the Community Channel and it just said "idk"
iirc, ascendance only has a lower chance to decide to grant any LP at all, but if the item gets LP, the amount is weighted as normal. Since WW items always have WW and are all global drops, it's most likely that yes you can get them and no WW value is not affected. Unless they specifically weight WW differently just for ascendance.

We don't have an automated system for this yet. It is something that we know some people might want and while we can technically do it manually, we make a habit of not going rummaging around in the database and manually editing things.

No roadmap. They've recently targeted the end of 2023 for the 1.0 release
We don't have a public roadmap because other than a few very key features (item factions, warlock, runemaster and falconer) not much is for sure going to hit our 1.0 internal deadline. It's getting a little easier to tell now that we are at most 7 months out though. We've got several other features that we are planning for and striving for but just aren't ready to commit to for 1.0. A roadmap would look kinda weird as it would be basically those 4 things above with a ton of "flex features" listed.
Basically just the monolith and dungeons for the time being. It's not quite where we want it to be yet but that's all it is at the moment.
Is there a way to fix the 16:10 aspect ratio having some part of the game cut off from the screen like the game is stretched out and does not fit inside of the screen?
We don't have a way in game for you to do that at the moment, no.

Was it a bug or is the rune just weak willed?
It was a bug that can sometimes cause ascended WW uniques to roll with no WW. We've fixed it for the first hotfix but it won't make it into the initial 0.9.1 build.

I would say that is technically a bug. It is however so low on the priority list that I doubt it will be looked at for quite a while.

I saw in the patch notes that Warpath staying toggled on from one click is being removed. Was accessibility considered in making that decision? I physically can't play a game where I need to hold down a single button 90% of the time, so Warpath was only useable for me because of the bug. There aren't really any other skills in the game where that's a problem since I don't think there are other channeled skills with movement. It would make the game more accessible to folks who couldn't otherwise play if there was an option to make skills like warpath toggleable.
It's something I'm sure we can consider adding back in intentionally. It was however a symptom of a much larger problem that had to be solved. We had implemented a work around to that problem and the only side effect that we could see what the warpath bug. Now this might seem like it's just a win-win but it was also causing some other problems that seemed unrelated.
So it's not that we are targeting this warpath change, it's more that we are fixing some general input and movement issues which happen to fix this bug.

Good day, I would like to ask if the Underlings node for skeletal mages does or does not benefit from skill points put into Sacrifice? I have not seen any special effects like blood spectre or bone nova triggering off mage casts of Sacrifice, but I'd like to confirm if that's working as intended, thank you.
Your sacrifice tree affects you and not your minions. This is true for all abilities unless otherwise explicitly stated.
Similar to the Warpath channeling issues.... have other channeling skills been fixed? I'd love to play a DPS Shield Rush build online
I'm sorry I don't know for sure. I would generally be expecting them to be yes but I know shield rush has some other issues too that I'm not sure if they were fixed or not.

We are currently working on the back end infrastructure to make asynchronous trading work.
im going to be extremely careful how i say this, i believe the back end infrastructure is already there and the code just needs to be tweaked a little bit (looking at you gift system)

Do you guys have any real plans on reworking lich/acolyte skills or reworking the decided nerf to bugged bone curse? I asked about this skill a couple weeks ago and was told there are no upcoming balance changes and now I just feel like i've wasted my time relying on one character/build, just feel a bit unmotivated to play but it would be nice to know if there are some quality of life build improvements planned for lich

We look at balance points all along the way from lvl 1 up to about 300 corruption generally. Perfect balance is not the goal because that's boring. Something has to be bad for something to be good. Having as many things feel like they are good as possible is the goal.

A serious question, yes. Maybe i didn't phrase it right (english is not my native) I was talking about a concept of balance that sets number of rules of what is possible and what is not. Because at the moment there are skills that simply break the very idea of balance.

Is it possible and do you plan to change the shard collection so that it immediately falls into the crafting collection and not into the eq? It's a bit annoying to keep clicking that button in the eq.
We believe that it's important for the feel of the game loop to have enemies fairly frequently drop items that you want to take an active action to pick up, but which you don't have to take time to inspect to work out whether it's good for you. However there are times where it feels bad at the moment, especially when it's just one shard, so we're planning to have them drop slightly less frequently and in larger groups on average. We're also planning to add more of a sink for shards you don't want, so that it feels less futile to have picked up a shard that you aren't planning to use and already have hundreds of.
Just wondering why is it that some areas have no character/npc shadows at all and some have proper shadows? It's evident even in the latest trailer but I always wonder why that's the case.
I'm not entirely sure but probably some combination of performance thing, the zone just hasn't been updated to the new shadows system properly or it's a bug.

It was a bug that can sometimes cause ascended WW uniques to roll with no WW. We've fixed it for the first hotfix but it won't make it into the initial 0.9.1 build.

yes, and pretty sure yes. Since if i remember right the class weighting doesn't apply to unique and set items afaik.

they are considered unique items for all intents and purposes it seems, you can get them from runes of ascendence, the unique echoes give them and so on.
Keep in mind that until the first hotfix, RoA will have a chance to give 0 WW because bug

Ever is a long time. We don't have any immediate plans to do this but we also don't have some note on the skills saying to not ever do that either.
ah, i missunderstood Judd during the rising flames patch overview video when he said:
"These weaver uniques can all drop during the campaign, so they can gain power with you as you progress. However, ones that drop at higher levels will have more weaver's will on average"
as him saying the higher level weaver's items on average dropped with more ww, and not that the area level makes them drop with more in general. Thanks for correcting me.
they are unique items first and foremost. They have a different "legendary style" so to speak but they are unique items and if in doubt, they behave like unique items.
OK thank you, the problem with JBK was the default animation was too slow (I guess it's attack rate is 1 or lower than other attacks at least) and too small where you frequently missed your target.
Rive is something I want because when scaling Void damage your Adaptive still stays as Physical making it deal significantly less damage.

No, but I think yes to what you might mean. All unique items will have their base unique item level requirement. Legendary Items still have level requirements, it's just not increased from the base unique any more.
Depends on who you ask. I'd say it's on the smaller side overall but it's one of the fastest we've done too.

Hi devs. Does the new unique Unstable Core Body Armor work with channeled Elemental Nova? Is it per 6 Novas created or really per 6 Nova that you casted, so it would not work with Novas that are channeled?

Directly cast means that you would be required to start channeling it 6 times.

Offline characters are saved on your PC. Online characters are saved on our servers. How those save systems work are drastically different.

Because you're not playing offline when you're playing solo, you're just playing online without anyone invited to your server.

You can already play solo online. D3 doesn't offer any sort of offline mode. The same thing in LE effectively is playing online, and not inviting anyone to your party. The main difference is there is still shared town areas. Our offline mode will be made fully offline.

nothing at the current time, we're not currently planning to add this functionality. If it was ever to be added, it would also only be one way, as we cannot upload files from your computer to our servers for both security and integrity reasons.

I'm a bit confused about the ending of act 1:|| Balthas slams two Epoch shard together and then send himself and us forward in time (that's what it looks like anyway). But in the ruined era Elder Gaspar says we only have one.|| Can someone help me make sense of this?
for the weavers will items, does it matter which class/mastery uses it? like are the stats that you get at random affected at all by that?
the items that are in slots which can have class specific affixes are on class specific unique bases so I don't think it matters.
yeah but for generic items like shoes or gloves, will the mastery you play skew the affixes in some way or can i safley lvl my weavers items with whatever and then see if they are useful to me?

because i dont quiet understand how they work, the first one says it proccs lightning blast on hit with a 2 second cooldown and it says automatically, does that mean its not guranteed on hit? or what does the frequency in the next node do

yea, it's just reducing the cooldown between possible triggers so with 3 points it can trigger once every 0.8s
iirc the quest "armory aid" used to reward a skill point. just turned it in and only got xp. has this changed or is it a bug?

some passives point rewards were moved earlier in the game so that they come before you get your mastery (which is earlier now) so that you normally have 20 passive points by the time you unlock your mastery

It's another automated use of the ability, it's indirect and doesn't trigger "on cast" type effects.

Why would it be the same thing? If he already had +1000% increased fire damage, 40% increased damage would be very minor while 40% penetration would be huge (assuming he had none before). Or what am I missing?
The node grants more dmg so it would be effectively the same but in fact the current node is stronger than pen because let's say you have 1 point then that's 40 more damage and when we calculate shred into it (say 20%) now you end up with 1.4x1.2 instead of 1.6 modifier.
or if we have +% resistance mode at mono - do I negate it with penetration, or do I have just increased damage?!
FoE said that the node doesnt even yield penetration at all. Its just 40% more damage (which is better) . So either the tooltip or the effect is wrong. Actual fire penetration would counteract +% resistances though and can reduce the resistance below 0
After reading the new boots that has Weaver's Will, I have a question about how Maelstrom applies its Haste and Frenzy buff when you have at least 6 stacks. Do the Haste and Frenzy from Maelstrom only last for one second, and then get reapplied if you have at least 6 stacks?
Because I notice how Frenzy and Haste keep having their timer cycled while I have more than 6 stacks of Maelstrom.

i have a question about the Mana storm node in mana strike. So ingame it says that mana arc (which you get from the mana storm node) will "Strike each enemy hit by mana strike". But on LE tools (which i know isn't official) it says it'll only hit 2 nearby enemies. So I'm wondering which is correct, or are they both correct? I doubt mana arc is cast on each enemy you hit, hitting 2 other enemies, potentially generating tons of hits, but that would make them both technically correct.
As in. If i hit 10 enemies with my mana strike, do i get 12 hits total or do i get more?

From memory it hits everything in range. Not all the data for subskills is relevant on LE tools (like mana costs for some)

the issue is that its damage numbers get pooled with the mana strikes damage number, and the variation in damage makes it actually a little hard to tell for me
since it really doesn't do that much extra damage (for me)

for some reason my WW item (boots) only up the existing affix (already Tier 5) and doesnt add new ones. Is the random biased towards increasing the existing affix tier or It is a pure random?
It seems to mostly level the first affix primarily before adding the second affix. This is likely by design as most people would probably want 1 t7 on a 7 ww item and not 3 t2s and a t1
on the other hand if you get one bad affix for your build you don't want it to be t7...,

Mike, in the past EHG (you) have always been very firm on not wanting any MTX that are "out of universe".
So how does that reconcile with the backpack which has numerous "out of universe" patches/etc on it? "Multiplayer when", "Last Epoch", etc.
It depends on how they are organized. You could feasibly organize the enemies perfectly so that if you hit 10 enemies with mana strike and there were 10 other enemies just out of range and you got lucky, it could hit all 20 with the mana arc. Each hit on an enemy that hasn't been hit in that ability use triggers mana arc which hits up to 2 enemies.

ah okay, so if there are only 10 enemies with no others around, and i hit all 10 with mana strike, mana storm will also hit each enemy once? or is it cast from each enemy hit so it would still result in 30 hits total? basically all i care about is how many total hits i'm getting out of it

When we see "you" in tooltips like in Beastmaster passive "Critical Bite", is "you" used generally to mean any given entity or is it strictly the player? In this case, the passive says "damage leech as health when you critically strike." But Aspect of the Lynx can be applied to minions. Does the you apply to them too?

Are all blessings unlocked at 200(can roll), saw someone mentioning that u need 300 corruption to roll last blessing and tesing that out now, got 50+kills on 200+ and all blessing unlocked besides one, or its just bad luck
I'm 99% sure that there's no specific corruption thresholds to get a max rolled blessing. More corruption just gives more options

Hi Mike, sorry if its been asked I could not see it with a quick search. How is the Xp works for WW items ? Is it a kill count ? Does it increase with every WW consumed ? Is the item "pre rolled" or is what happens when WW is consumed rolled at that moment ?
When you kill an enemy, it progresses the xp needed to level up the item and use another WW. At the moment of levelup, the affix added is decided.
Is the xp gains influenced by area lvl and inc xp gained from monos mods ?

We don't work on one thing at a time there are people fixing multiplayer bugs at the same time as people working on town functionality. All of it needs to be done by 1.0 and having a larger feature in as early as possible to find the bugs with it is important. Had we waited until 1.0 to release the town functionality, we would have experienced these issues with it at 1.0, not in early access. This was the far better option.

The forum post is the correct information, I believe he meant. What the forum post says is the correct take, probably means that it doesn't scale with more XP just that things need to be able to award you xp to also award you with weavers will progress

I got scared when I saw Fissure (Smite burn patch subskill) graphics updated, but no separate void version... made me think it's now fire regardless if Smite gets converted, but tests on dummies show it still gets converted to scale with void damage instead of fire. Edit: didn't look at what item that was. It is just applying it in a way that doesn't update the character sheet.
Subskill tooltip DPS calcs are unaffected by nodes in trees. It is working.

Playing an Archmage Necro build (Allie's Fred the Skelly) and got 2 questions:
- Can the multiple projectiles hit the same enemy? The Splitered Dominion node does not mention anything.
- Sometimes when I move too far from the Archmage, it comes towards me kinda like drifting in thin ice, taking a few seconds to stop and actually start attacking enemies. Is this intended (force us to press A) or just a limitation on the current minion AI?

it works both ways, you can use a non class exalt on a class unique. you just cant make a unequipable item.(mage affix on an acolyte armour, etc)

Speaking of fixing issues, is there a chance that the dev team is fixing the linuxversion. The performance with AMD GPU'S is so bad that the game is unplayable on my end in 1080p (Radeon RX 6700 XT). I need to force proton onto the game to run the windowsversion on linux to have a stutterfree experience.

@placid plinth My buddy and myself from EUW are automatically getting US east server, all of our settings are EUW, also party settings. We both start solo as EUW but when inviting or teleporting to eachother iti s either connection lost or the other way around invited then we switch the next zone to US east

If you have it specced for all three elements, yes. Same thing with the evokers set items...gives three levels if all there elements are there

Yeah Endurance not interacting with ward makes perfect sense. It is damage to health after all.

Well. There are a couple ground effects that do bypass ward and deal percentage damage to your health but they're not supposed to be able to kill you. Most prominent example is the pulsing blood puddle things in the Emperor of Corpses fight.

It scales with monster level. E.g. at level 100 it's 12.4%.

For that particular mod it's +4 dodge rating per level
But don't forget that it's flat stat, if there are some mods that have +% dodge rating, then the resulting dodge chance would be much hight

yea so every cycle the characters get moved to "standard", but from what i see in other games there isnt much of a point to play standard

The big reason "standard" isn't really played in something like Poe is because in Poe the economy is a massive part of the game, and in standard the economy is insanely inflated and favours people who have been playing for years over people who joined a few months ago and so on. This'll still be a thing in LE. Anathor thing is that people want to play the current newest content, in Poe a league can go "core" depending on if it's good or not, but in LE both standard and cycle will get the new content at the same time.

Unfortunately, Druid forms aren't considered as minions, however apogee of the frozen light doesn't work with Summon spriggan as well for some reason.

The tags for Druid forms aren't the same as they are for most other skills. Bug form isn't a minion summoning skill yet it has the minion tag to show the user that it can summon minions.
Tempest Strike is similar, it has both melee & spell tags but both tags don't apply to all parts of the skill. The spell tag only applies to the procs & the melee tag only applies to the initial melee hit.
I tested it with Shade's Horned Staff that +1 to all minion skills, it adds both Spriggan and Swarmblade form, theres inconsistency somewhere

It is only bugged with the firebreather node. Other burning daggers works fine (the damage goes up regardless of the tooltip). This was confirmed in the bug report forums a few days ago

You can't tell me 114% chance to find potions (57 flat damage increase) from the scavenger belt that can't increase my damage enough to notice it cause im seeing same numbers on dummy
We don't need to discuss back and forth here, but I trust controlled damage tests on the dummy a LOT more than tooltip damage increases, or lack thereof
I was literally sitting at 995 tooltip dps on burning daggers and my damage was 600-1000 regardless if I had a rare belt with 65% chance to find potions and scavengers at 114%
Well the more controlled test is no belt vs a belt with just chance to find potions on it
Or at least the easier result to get a significant difference
Theres no difference bro, I was hitting the same dps regardless what belt I wore
I know I'm just saying, if you have same damage with no belt at all versus scavenger where the only damage mod is chance to find pots

What variables? I have 8% on ignited targets and nothing else

You can't tell me ~60 flat increases damage by that little, even on a 100% damage efectiveness... So either the relic is bricked or the game does not calculate things normally... Cause I have played this in 8.5 and I had better clearing than now, even when Im boosting burning daggers

in regards the lightning aegis question here some additional info why i am asking, a scenario: i am in the middle of 20-30 enemys, i have a build were i am constantly at high ward so i am at like 10k ward, i use arcane ascendance with the node that proccs my lightning blast which has a chance to procc this lightning aegis, it does happen but then boom, lightning aegis is instantly gone, seemingly because i take damage to my ward from the hoard of enemys but not a single life point is lost
I have a rather convoluted question Mike. Say I want to one-shot a mob using Maul, which has a damage bonus for hitting an enemy on full life. Now my attack has, let's say 300% chance to shred armour on hit, 100% chance to slow, 200% chance to shock. When Maul hits the enemy, will these status effects register BEFORE (and therefore increase) the damage of the hit, or after?
