All things in this game are 'snapshotted' at the moment they are cast. Only certain things update afterward (some special cases for minions, and of course anything explicitly stated).

Hi! It was recently brought up in a thread that we are limited to 20 online characters at a time. Are there plans to increase this limit, or provide payment options to increase slots? (I have no proof that the limit is currently 20 so I may be wrong about that)
Hi Mike. You talked about set items that didn't have to have an LP but would have their own system. Will they have them in 1.0? (or before)
The current online limit is 20. The way it is set up, I think it is very feasible to increase the limit. I'm not sure if that will change or not. If we do increase that limit, it won't be a pay for feature but rather just the same for everyone.
Not only do they not have to have an LP integration but they have to not have an LP integration.
The aforementioned set system updates do not have a set date yet.

We haven't announced this detail yet. I think that the most likely thing will be at 1.0 but this is really not set in stone yet at all.

Oh, you're right. Well it looks weird in Headers and Buttons, because the inscriptions are written in lower case letters, whereas in the original they are in uppercase letters. The inscriptions of checkboxes are fine.
Can Glyph of Despair hit a critical success just like any other crafting option? I would imagine so. I also figure Runes don't ever hit critical successes.

are you guys still working on memory leaks etc? when i first fire up last epoch this is it memory usage. after about 2hrs of running nothing but echoes memory usage is up to this. which doesn't seem like a lot but once it gets this high my system crashes the game due to low memory. this is with 32gb ddr4 and a 15gb page file. when game crashes im down to like 200mb of useable ram. only happens with last epoch.
Yes, however what you are seeing is crazy dramatically mega higher than anything we can come remotely close to replicating.
hmmm wonder if something else is causing the issue in general..... ill try turning everything off but discord and last epoch. and report my findings.

is 75% resistance the cap for enemy mobs and does my penetration only effect damage and never status effects?
Hi devs! Anyone know if the Spriggan summoned from Friend of the Forest in the Spriggan Form tree also grant additional benefits from the Spriggan skill tree (increased spell damage, dodge rating...etc)? Would it stack with a regular spriggan companion?
I don't think enemy mobs actually have a resistance cap. However, they very rarely have any so it doesn't come into play. Only enemies which explicitly state that they are resistant to some specific element under their health bar actually have any.
Your penetration affects all damage you deal of that element, regardless of where it comes from. Important to note that you are not your minions so it doesn't affect them. Only minion stats affect minions.
It's exactly the same as your normal spriggan.
The game couldn't tell them apart if it wanted to.

Overlapping similar auras don't fully stack. Technically, 2 auras of the same type alternate any stats which are similar and stack any stats which are different. This is mostly just important for overlapping Holy Auras because they can be specialized so differently.
Because they are both the same spriggan and have the same aura, they don't stack at all.

Is there any consideration for making the duration of totems higher? It's just a needless nuisance having the duration so low, especially with so few ways of increasing the duration.
That is a screenshot taken from a very brief video that was posted to chat in the last livestream. It is an extremely early prototype localization test clip. I actually had no idea that was even functional until I saw it in Aaron's recap video for the stream.

Blood shade only converts ignite chance so Baneful will still give you ignite penetration
Baneful clearly states it only works on ignites inflicted by infernal shade
Nodes usually don't make other skills stronger unless the explicitly give your character a buff or say the bonus is "Global"

There is a pool that it pulls from depending on level and timeline. generally speaking it will match the boss of that timeline. abom will have lots of necro, rahyeh will have lots of void/fire. etc. i believe tunklab for lastepoch has where/what spawns in each timeline

That item rolls LP as though it was a lvl 100 item.
Items have an inverse relationship between level and LP probability.
So an item with a low effective level for LP will get more LP on average than an item with high effective level for LP.
There are 2 ways you can increase your chances of getting an item with LP.

Play in higher level zones. 100 is the max so if you're in empowered monoliths, this doesn't matter as it's all lvl 100.

Get more unique items to drop so you have more rolls of the dice.

Damage conversions only convert damage unless they say otherwise so it shouldn't affect craterborn
All other damage conversions work that way
So why would the staff be different?
Because this is a game still in Beta and they are still flushing out tool tips and working on clarity.
Also, many other skills SAY they convert other effect to the new damage type. Such as :
I didn't want to make a new character yet because Everything gets broken to the point of freezing past 200 corruption. i love the game, just sayin.
The staff states it only converts base damage. Fire pen is not base damage.
if you have the same issues on another character it might be not related to your rate of attack and something else

Is this intended to CHANGE the skill to Lightning Pen or is the craterborn buff only intended to provide cast speed for Lightning meteor. As we don't have the dummys right now to test per hit dmg on.
I only pursue this so avidly as there is a level of mystery here with the term "counts as a lightning spell" and other skills that convert penetrations.
I would OBVIOUISLY like that fire pen to be converted so that the shrapnel nodes seem more appealing to move towards instead of just AoE size.
Otherwise this whole section of the skill would be reserved for a build that would waste 2 pts whilst going lightning.
It does not change craterborn. It only changes what is explicitly stated(the base dmg). You get lightning pen from the helmet, for using the set. So, yes, craterborn would only give cast speed, which is why most lightning meteor builds dont use it alot/max it
You have dummies in champions gate(heorborea divine era).
Counting as a lightning spell just means it has lightning and spell tag.
Other skills that convert pen or other stats, explicitly state they do. Again. In this case it states it only effects the base dmg.most likely since its a set conversion, and not in the skill tree itself

2000 i think since the skill that pre 0.9 had 100% crit multi by default didn't do more or less damage on crits

I'm worried about something so I thought I should ask and possibly not waste anymore time.
I have had to grind 180 hours to find a build I like as a new player here and settled on crit lich. Got some decent gear and grinding comfortably and hear many saying that it's confirmed somewhere that crit lich is getting heavy boss damage nerfs due to bugs or unbalanced skills..
Should I just drop the game now if this is true? Or are the nerfs or changes gonna be light enough to continue enjoying my build?
the bone curse bug will likely get nerfed, it's extremely strong
the build will likely be playable after the nerf though

We take care to keep high end builds viable when fixing bugs that cause power levels above expected. Especially if done mid ladder.

Increase, decrease, more and less are modifier values which have +1.
Multipliers are just multiplied.
I feel like that might be in a grey area at best. Making an homage with a teleporting bear is one thing but straight up copying an iconic zone like that, while awesome, wouldn't go over well.

Alt text on the Baneful node says nothing about conversions.
Could we get an option for an easier to see cursor? Like a higher contrast color, silverish maybe, also increase the size? It's an accessiblity feature, my old man eyes lose track of the cursor sometimes and I assume others might have the issue too.

Yolomouse is a good 3rd Party option a few of our players use to help with cursor size and colour. The team have said it's perfectly fine to use too and won't throw up any issues when online 😊

took me 500 hours to find t7 hybrid health, 30-40 soulfire bastion runs on a glove day led to absolutely nothing.
t7 hybrid health is not something that can be expected but should be celebrated if it does happen

Ok, so that would be the overflow bug. Normally it's accompanied by a black circle around the character, but online isn't showing it. It's a very rare bug which we've been tracking for some time. Unfortunately we don't have any sort of reliable way to reproduce it. If you can submit information to the bug report forums, including your player.log, the time it happened, and any other info you can think of, it would be much appreciated.
When it happens, going back to character select and back in should clear it up.

While I have you, are there plans on having affixes dynamically display based on the item type for the loot filter?
So if I wanted to filter for helmets and its sub-types, I can see the affixes available.
Not strictly planned, as we haven't had an opportunity to revisit the filter for changes (hasn't come up in priority yet). I personally think it would be a nice feature to add when we do get the opportunity.

Hey Mike! So in that brief localization video, the RU locale uses only the Forum font. I assume this is because the other fonts lack cyrillic characters. I can provide you with Cinzel font with cyryllic glyphs. I also added cyryllic glyphs to the main Last Epoch font, as you can see in the pic below.
Can anybody confirm that the bonuses to the Lightning sub-skills in the various Primalist skill trees do or do not scale with bonuses to Lightning from other Primalist skill trees? The tooltips are for the exact same skill but that seems like a thing that won't work.

That video was incredibly early version. I had no idea we had anything like that in game until I saw it in a recap video the next day. I expect that it was just done with whatever font we had glyphs for at the time. I'm pretty sure that many of those additional glyphs are being created for cyrillic still. I've passed it along to someone who has more experience with this.

Moreover, does notes from tempest strike like Hailstorm can proc avalanche boulder? Going even further, does notes from passive tree like "Lightning strike on spell cast" can proc boulder also?
"on spell cast" means you push a button to cast a spell, not procs. So none of that works.

No, it's a melee attack that triggers spells. You may have an idol that summons boulders on melee attack (look carefully at your idols, they are similar)

Out of curiosity, I tested it myself. Tempest strike itself counts as a spell cast, doesn't need to proc anything. The procs do not count. Tested using the idols and bleeding heart (self bleed on spell cast). Might be worth a bug report

Just curious if Marksman's uniques are gunna get any updates? Example of what I'm referring to is Necro has a staff that can give like +10 wraiths with that you feel the power increase. But bows like reign of winter you feel a difference but it's not a huge power spike like other classes when there's so many draw backs to playing a mm. Like giant slayer is a must have for multishot. But it already reduces your damage and basically forces almost a melee play style. You also want to pair it with mourning frost which causes you to stack a ton of frost and physical resistance making you lose out on other important stats. And I haven't noticed any of these negatives in other classes. And don't get me wrong I don't mind the play style. But balance between classes seems kind significant.
Other classes have similar issues, acolyte has a bunch of "must use" skills, meaning your build is limited to only using 2-3 of your skill slots freely

No it's the not must have talents it's all the draw backs that I'm referring to giant slayer is -80% DMG talent but required for its ability to have multiple arrows hit the same target then mourning frost boost the icicles from reign but then it's -1% frost -1% physical resistance per dex point which is what the boots scale off then it's reign of winter itself where it's only 30% chance.
Then you have weapons out there that are like +2 and 10wraiths and this that the other thing. And it's stuff like that which is why I believe players being drawn so heavily to certain classes.
Like the multishot build is fun and good. But I think minor Tweeks would make it a viable build people would want to play.
Instead of 80 reduced DMG make it like 60-65% instead of frost and physical resistance make it just frost resistant affected. One for one kind of deal. And I don't actually think reign of winter needs to be changed I just think it's everything else that holds it back
Hungering souls has the same, all can hit but 63% less damage, and that on a staff with low spell damage
And unlike multishot it doesn't pierce

hey, I just got the game and I noticed that it uses by default dx11, with pretty underwhelming performance (on a 5600x + 32GB + 7900XTX, latest drivers), so I forced it to run on dx12 (via the Unity command line option -force-d3d12) and I got basically almost a 2x boost (from 11-12ms @5120x1440 to 5-6ms)
so, my question is: any reason to not run the game in dx12?

It's any stat that has the words "increased poison damage" or "more poison damage" get given to your skeleton rogues when you summon them.
Does it get added to the physical base and the abilitys? (flask and throwing)
it gets applied as though the minion was holding a dagger that had those stats on it. (also poison damage can't be flat added)

normally, your minions only benefit from minion stats, so if you have increased minion dot damage, it will apply to your minion's dots and not your own. If you have increased dot damage, it will apply your your dots and not your minions.
The mod on that weapon creates an exception to this in that non-minion increases to poison damage (not all dots, just poison) are applied to your rogue minions.

Just putting that forward as a suggestion then, because the rest of the UI feels really good except for that one thing that is at this point, not only unnecessary but also misleading. You obviously want the UI to show relevant information needed to play the game, so when I boot this game up for the first time and it's on my steam deck so i am only playing with a controller, and I see a button with feet labeled <spri and cannot for the life of me figure out what it does or why it's there, it causes unneeded friction with would be new players, however minor. And it comes off as low effort, which is not the vibe I get from the rest of the game. Just my 2 cents after spending my $35

If I spec into Charged Movement on Surge tree to generate spark charges, but I'm also using Fragment of the Enigma, will all spark charges generated benefit from more multis on Surge tree or does the game distinguish between how a charge is generated?
Spark charges are never affected by skill trees unless explicitly stated

what about when that unique comes directly from a boss...im only asking cause farming this bow is becoming more tedious then fun. im some where between 16-20 bows if not more not including the helm drops and one bow with 1 lp dropped.

high tier unique items should not be expected to be found with LP for the most part.
you say its high tier but for the most part its pretty weak but the best the bows have to offer...in comparison to to just drops you can farm for other classes. so if we can expect it to be one heck of a grind it should be made worth it.
It's possible that you might also just be getting unlucky. I'm not sure what item you're talking about. You can view the effective LPlvl on tunklab or letools to see how relatively rare the LP is on it.

yea, that's a higher tier unique, it has a natural LP level so it's just the same as its equip level
i love the bow and the build im playing. but man i really think somethings should be looked at especially if seasons are going to be a thing. 277hrs in and still not even a single 2lp bow. and its the only target farm ive done

White and blues are like rolling a 0. They have to exist so the good things can be good. They aren't supposed to be for endgame. Discussions are ongoing about leveling alts. Not sure about the pet question, but they are for sure against them picking anything up.
Understand about the whites and blues and leveling alts, as for pets why is there such angst against them serving a real purpose. Just having something running around with us just to be there seems pointless.

It doesn't exactly "stack" how we normally think, but each instance will heal you in intervals relative to when it was cast. So all heals will register, but it doesn't stack in the way we think of armor shred or ailments per say
Specifically, the consecrated ground aura does not stack because you can only have one at a time. If you have multiple paladins with cons ground auras, their healing and damage stacks just like the ground effect does.

We do plan to continue to regularly release new content and to bring back the ladder which will reset periodically at the same time as the new content. There are several similarities and differences to how PoE and D4 do it.
That's awesome, I just wasn't sure if the game was being developed with the mindset of a single player game where once you play the content/story you're pretty much done or if there will be ever evolving content. I played a couple of D3 seasons and am coming from Destiny 2 where the game is always changing.

t8 affixes aren't on the plan at the moment. I can't say they will never show up but we don't have any designs for them. I think we would look for more lateral expansion of affix options.

They are talking about the self-inflicted poison scaling with your damage & penetration stats, not this node (which is not penetration, this is a debuff like shred)

Ye we had a chat about it in the class chat about the base poison res shred -5% and less 60% on player but can't we argue that (image) is the counter for it? and why it is there in the first place to prevent losing to much resistance? it will be an issue if you pick up the SE side path and the Int shred but with not to much int and self poison stack this one perk is enought to counter it.

yes, poison resistance reduction (from poison stacks) is countered by building more than 75% resistances

If you gonna rework anything adding numbers to the self poison resistance buff and changing the SE path self apply poison rate not poison DoT itself. I like the shred on the DoT
I'm pretty sure the problem he's referring to is that in order to build AoD to kill enemies, it will kill you first because they have a lot more effective health than players.

sorry, bad variable name threw me off, I dug a little deeper, it just reduces the damage taken overall and can apply to protect ward. it reduces the damage you take the same if you are already out of ward

Is damage deterministic assuming crit is 100 (if hit) and everything is stable (shred, pen, etc.) between instances of damage? Not sure if there's an oversight on my end, but I can get different values on my damage on dummies for what I would expect to be the same.

Say we've been pushing to 600+ corruption on a build and we end up getting lucky on shade kills but reach a point where we lose or change the build or the build gets changed and can't do the corruption bosses you are at. You want to lower corruption but can't due to how tough the current shades are with the new build or changes made to the class.

hi dev, is the auto summoning vines from eterra's path affected by the cooldown from silvafrond ring?
next, does cooldown recovery reduces this cooldown for summoning vines?
lastly, why bear form can cast entangling roots much easier than spriggan form? it doesn't really fit the archetype that an animal transformation can use a tree skill much easier than a tree form does
also considering that in bear form, maul proccing entangling roots only has 4s, but in spriggan form, the shortest is to shoot spirit thorns 21 times, which is astronomically longer than 4s just to proc entangling roots, thus I think dev should consider changing the spiritwhisperer node from 1 vale spirit every 5 spirit thorns casts, to 1 spirit every spirit thorn cast

That article is not worded correctly. Currently, the working hypothesis is: "An exalted item that has 4 affixes will 100% seal a Tier 1 modifier."
One dev said this was true once, and it definitely seems very likely, but another dev has said that it is not guaranteed. Hard to test, hard to verify.
can anyone with code access please tell me if there is anything wrong with the contagion node for spirit plague. So far, as I have used it, it seems that even with the upgraded 175% AOE range it doesnt seem to want to affect targets further away from the target than an arm span away...
and its really disapointing that it wont affect a whole pack like bone curse can
because as it is worded its supposed to affect everything around the target, which it does, but it should affect everything in a larger area with that aoe increase that it gets. this tells me the base radius is tiny.

Just to be clear, it's not aoe range, it's aoe area. As an area gets bigger, increases to area seem to have less effect as the radius increases as a function of area (A = πr²). Is it possible that the area is increasing size at a slower rate than expected?

How come it was decided to not include spears in the sentinel tree? Axes and swords give atk spd.. I feel like spears should be included to the mace node. Mail crusher. Spears look awesome and the attack animation is nicely done, it's a shame spears aren't really used and have more options.
I understand no daggers and such but spears are certainly a warrior type of weapon.
I think even including spears to mail crusher would see a nice spike in spear usage. I'm using a trident for my rive crit build and I love the asthetic of it.

i think it might be a good idea to round off the numbers before comaring in this kind of threshold situation? all the other stats doesnt have this exact issue
I think a spear is more thematic to a warrior than any of the other 4 classes, personally. Maybe a not falconer but that isn't out yet so idk. Spartan warriors were spear users. Spears fit sentinel more than a rogue or a druid or a mage or necro etc. Plus there's spear nodes for javelin and lunge. The only spear ability in the game is meta when you take a node to make it not require a spear. Lol. I just feel like spears were excellently designed, they look and feel great, but no builds use them because they've been completely abandoned it feels like.
I know I'm not alone in saying spears are my favorite weapon class, I would love to see more spear nodes/gameplay implementation.

You can "reply" to a post and turn off the ping by unselecting the blue @on to the right and it will keep the conversation going without pinging.
It applies when you get to the threshold, so the first 1 HP might not have the DR applied but the rest of your HP will. So it's really super not a big deal at all.

When the chillflame node converts stacks of ignite into stacks of frostbite, are those stacks of frostbite new stacks applied by the shatter strike? Or will the frostbite stacks inherit the damage modifiers of the skill that applied the ignite?
Don't take this away from us lowly mages aswell, it's hard enough as is if you aren't using ward (damage dealt to mana builds usually use super secret crown)

Those runes just roll based on the equipment type. Area doesnt matter when rolling them. You are only "target farming" in that timeline cuz it has unique nodes for that type. Its still a global drop and can be found anywhere
The "target farm" wording in LE Tools just means you'll be able to find "unique or set [item type]" reward echoes there relevant to that item, but it can drop anywhere high enough level
I see - so since Melverns writ is a unique relic, "the last ruin" would spawn unique relic type nodes for it to drop

How does the void knight’s anomaly talents mark of rot and time lord work together exactly? Mark of rot increases void dmg taken by 100% and points in it scales duration only but if you are using the bubble that moves with you (time lord) does it use the bubble’s duration instead? ( that’s if the dmg taken increase even works with the moving bubble cause so far it does not seem to change my damage at all)
Wandering Spirits? No, it just deals direct spell damage over time
They don't interact. Mark of Rot is applied when enemies are returned to the present, which just happens to also be what creates the bubble

Immediacy just makes all the return effects happen immediately after the casting effects as if you instantly toggled it off using the 'combo skill', the bubble still only does exactly what it says it does (slow, void shred, and whatever else you've given it from further bubble nodes)

Duration of what exactly? Does it affect any damages? How is it influenced by popping of Abyssal Echoes by another skill? How does Potent Corruption node from the same skill affect Turbulence?

So from what I can tell it's working as intended. Endurance protects damage dealt to your health only so even if your threshold was double your health somehow, damage dealt to mana shouldn't be affected.
It's not granting you DR if your health is inside the threshold. It's more like it's granting your health DR.
Agro is based on range to target. Being larger means you are naturally closer to everything so you pull more threat. Also being larger means you intercept more projectiles.
Being larger is good if you're a tanky character. So if you want your companion to tank for you, increasing their size will help.
Hi All, is there a way to target minion only on controller. im using a controller with manifest armor shield throw.. either my character is throwing it at a mob most of the time.
It's there but a little old. Check out the media page, link at the bottom. It really needs some of the recent splash arts.
controller compatibility with some skills work with no issue but when it comes to targeting minion it doesnt work. with left you move and point general direction of the character. the problem is at that "gneral direction" there's enemy, enemies or minion.

Yea, you'd have to position yourself specifically to hit the minion first or hope that it could ricochet to it.

controller for most part works fine. ive played only with controller and i can say its pretty solid on combat.. not good on inv management and this minion targeting just fails. rip blood golem and now this shield throw to manifest armor
how do you guys generally feel about stun avoidance as a stat in its current state? in my opinion enemies shouldn't all inherently stun but instead only more telegraphed and obvious attacks that should stun. Usually if you get a lot of hp you stop really getting stunned but there are some high ehp but low actual hp builds out there and there will most likely only be more in the future, that need to build quite a lot of stun avoid to not get stunned atleast once at every pack of enemies.
Pretty good. I think it adds a mechanically distinct defensive layer that becomes very important later in the endgame
anathor question, how do you guys feel about the state of defensive layers / options in the game right now? do you guys think it's pretty much balanced like you want it or are there some options that synergize a little too well / little with some mechanics / other layers. And do you think it should be possible to become an unkillable raidboss or do you want players to always atleast be somewhat on their toes and have to pay attention to atleast some things?
While there is always room for improvement and we will continue to make adjustments to relative powers of defensive layers, it is generally in a pretty good state I think.
Completely trivializing boss mechanics with overwhelmingly large defense is not expected. This often comes with exceptionally slow kills and really boring gameplay.

Been playing around with Jelkhors blast knife and was wondering if itd be possible to make it so when Detonating arrow was used as a melee attack it still procced the Marksman mastery bonus, 25% attack speed wouldnt break it itd just make it feel smoother and right now I'm struggling to find a reason to even put a single point into the Marksman tree while using this item... Thoughts on this?
Just to add, I really like the concept but the fact theres almost ZERO synergy with the mastery that you are forced to play is pretty rough

I think logical exceptions like this are generally not ideal and it's often better to put that same effect on the item creating the situation instead.

Even just making the marksman mastery trigger off melee attacks seems more sensible, no ones using the marksman mastery for melee outside of this one specific unique item anyway?
what I mean is you could put an effect on the weapon that just is the same effect as the mastery bonus or say on the item that the mastery bonus works with that one edge case. Just make it only apply with with weapon and say that on the weapon.

It would definitely help the overall feel of the build and atleast make it so you get a little something for having to spec marksman, if it also worked for the nodes on the far right of marksman that add to the bow mastery passive effect itd really help fill out some areas in which the build lacks and give you a reason to dump 50+ points into marksman as right now I dont even think I'm gonna reach 20 😂

This is a weirdly worded question. No, there is no relationship like that.

After some research, I finally found something that can explain how my minions do damage, it's not clear in game that they have skills and what they are.

Right now, it's really unclear what damage my Bone Golem does, and even their total health is annoying not showing up in the tooltip and we need to calculate based on Scaling info.

There is a server-level filter for stuff EHG cares about, and a profanity filter you can toggle for other stuff that you might personally care about. They are still being worked on, they lean on being overly-restrictive at the moment.

Same as online at the same time, minus the things that need online to function (party play, trading, leaderboards, etc.). Saves them effort to not maintain multiple game versions.

I find it a redundant and stupid system. Why have a player controlled one when the global filter will still censor it? Yes, sealing a T4 is extremely mega difficult. Sealing is easier on exalted items. Sealing a T1 on an exalted is almost guaranteed. Sealing a T4 on a non-exalted is almost anti-guaranteed.
I don't know what the actual chances are off the top of my head, so it's not quite that extreme. I haven't sealed a T4 myself yet.

I was wondering. Since Averielle told me to come here: Multiplayer characters (including the beta multiplayer characters) will enter a legacy cycle / standard online. How will the update / cycle mechanic work on offline characters (including beta offline characters)? Will these offline characters also get the updates and changes introduced with the cycles at some point or are they simply out of luck?
They dont want to maintain multiple versions of the game so I guess its likely that everyone will get all updates
Sorry to mention this again but I believe I put a small mention about patrol mob movement speed last week somewhere but wonder if other devs here have been told and have seen issues with this.
Patrol speed seems to be random and often times with builds with very little mobility you're stuck waiting for it to come full circle or cut them off to get an echo done quickly or a quest in campaign. Would there be consideration to be sure all patrol types are set to 1 speed and slow it down?
Is there a reason the Void Knight isn't corrupted like others are when they come in contact with it? Is he just overpowering it with his will?

Regarding the story i had to laugh when I found myself playing a necromancer using the dead(explodermancer build) to fight The Void ™ but i assume like you said with void knight is there something else keeping Necro from just going all nutso and taking over the world with our undead army and the epoch? yes, there is an effect which can bypass ward but it deals %remaining health damage so it can't actually kill you

we don't plan to remove it, however you are missing out on the campaign bonus by not completing the main story quests.
Will monolith progress be shared between characters at some point in future?
No. We very intentionally do not place any sort of magic find bonuses in the same slot as a player power bonus. This is why the blessings which have these types of bonuses don't have any power bonuses.
As for an increased LP blessing, that's technically possible but would be so much better than all the others that we probably wouldn't do it.
You can increase the odds of finding specific items with LP by increasing the quantity of them which drop through increased unique drop rate and increasing the drop rate of that type of item base.
some skills and, subsequently, builds have higher damage ceilings than others - will this be balanced going forwards or are early game skills meant to be weaker than class skills?
We don't have plans for this at the moment given the potential to get characters into a spot where you can't progress in the monolith at all.
Some skills and builds will always have higher damage ceilings than others. This is a reality of the game genre. We do strive to have as many fun, diverse and viable builds as possible. This is reflected in the balance changes that we implement in every major patch.

When you first attempt to connect to a server, it sends a ping to each region to see which will be the fastest. It then picks that one. It is successfully picking the server region with the lowest ping in this check. However, the type of check that it is doing can become deprioritized by certain network infastructure. This can cause it to be slower than usual and return a worse time to a nearby region.
It is pretty rare that this is an issue but people who are affected, are consistently affected.
We are going to introduce a different method of checking this to get more accurate and consistent results.
We are also going to introduce a method to manually override your server region so you can pick where you are if necessary.

The goal is to have as many skills be viable as possible. I word it this way because the definition of viability is wildly different depending on who you talk to.
The drain gets high enough where you’re losing use hp/sec so it could just look like you’re suddenly dropping out but you either got clipped by something that knocked you out of it or you were out of combat and got drained of everything

Yea, we do that pretty frequently as a fail-safe. It's generally set so high that you'll never hit it unless some exploit is found.

Unsure if this is the correct chat but I was looking to find out if the mechanic I was trying to build around was intentional. The belt Azurrals Fury gives you a buff that says "Your mana does not regenerate" and drains it at an accelerating rate. I had thought that you could still "Gain" mana through skills like Mana strike or Vengeance so I leveled a Vengeance character with more mana gain on hit than the consumption on the belt to try and sustain the buff.
This does not work, the skill does not gain any mana during the buff. Was wondering if this was intended and if y'all might change your minds on it? 😅

I took a quick peek and from what I can see it's just giving you the stat 100% less mana regen. It shouldn't interact with mana gain effects at all.
Hi, started playing void knight warpath few days ago, getting some bugs with it, i tried warpath even before release of 0.9 when was testing and it looks like its still same bugged, when do u have in plan to fix? examples, no animation on spinning, thats not so bad, but had bug where my char was spining, just character spin, no skill effect (circle) and was doing 0 dmg

What's your philosophy for balancing? Is it kinda like Poe where you just add whatever sounds cool, let the players find a way to make something really strong using it and then balance the mobs and bosses around the current power of the players builds
Or (the one it seems like to me) do you carefully evaluate every item and mechanic put into the game to make sure it's not too strong?
As in are the mobs balanced based on the players or the players based on the mobs.
if a minion is physical and cold, does it scale 0.5 x physical and 0.5 x cold, or do different abilities of the minion scale with physical and others with cold?
Different abilities have different base dmg, so will scale independantly. Bone golem for instance, when specd into frost golem, gains an ice spell, but keeps the old phys bone nova. So it will say it scales with both cold and phys, but each skill is different. Places like lastepochtools show all the minion skills, so you can see the base dmg of them
Will there be any Option in the future to make the appearance of Shards bigger/other Colors?

oh i figured it out
this gives one skill point to physical skills
but choosing 5/5 removes physical tag
so the game was not able to do that point as there would not be enough points
leveling up twice did allow me to do 5/5

I'm extremely suspicious of the claim of how PoE does it. I appreciate that it might feel like that sometimes but I'm sure they make balance changes carefully and with purpose.
As with PoE, many player builds have emerged that we never intended to be possible and we have had to react accordingly. We work hard not to remove a build from viability.
Player feedback is a valuable tool for balance changes.
So I think overall, the game is balanced around the game.
There are definitely swarmblade skewed uniques but there aren't any as "on the nose" swarmblade only items yet.
nothing specific, many people are using it very successfully already but we won't be looking to it as an officially supported platform until post-1.0

Whats the priority for EHG at the moment with the state of the game. The server instability when playing MP is quite crippling to enjoyment. Im not sure how many suffer from it. But I cant stream it when when doing so, otherwise it makes the game look a little ordinary.

We view the game as having 15 classes. It's a core piece of identity to the character. You spend all this time becoming that class. You grow into it and hone your skills as that specific class. Being able to change this core aspect of your character would be on the same level as changing an Acolyte into a Sentinel.
While nothing is completely set in stone, we have had a recent discussion on this and there was little support for making it something that is changeable.

As someone who suffers from severe altholism, are there any plans to be able to skip the campaign at all. Having done the campaign around 16 times in the last 2-3 weeks.. gets kind of old 🙂
We do plan to expand the campaign skip options that are already present in the dungeons by adding more dungeons. We are also taking a look at how the T1 of each dungeon fits into the leveling pattern (making them easier).
Leveling by dungeon is good. You just need to have enough keys to be able to run them. Which isnt too hard with multipole alts.. but if you say, run the game 3 times, youre not likely to have a hell of a lot,making dungeon running for levels a little harder
hey mike, i know this is almost a bug report but i just wanted to ask a technical question, when this happens, is it the server not being 100% synced with the client and them disagreeing if you're dead or not or is it actually possible to be at 0 hp and survive?
probably, the server is what actually knows if you're dead or not. I think what happened was you hit some number of HP between 0 and 0.5 (exclusive) and the UI rounded to 0 which brought up the death screen but the server knew you weren't actually dead.
