They have built this game up since the beginning, and I understand there people upset over the changes and news, but it was either they unalive the game and pack it up or adapt to the changes and try to survive

I can forgive HeroSiege because classes cost under $5 each and give a solid amount of gameplay difference. I know LE classes are much more fleshed out, so I worry about the price point. Id almost rather buy a full expansion with a class than just a class on its own for around half the cost of what an expansion may be priced at

after reading so much drama i just wanted to lay some words here.
i think everyone that plays games needs to take a step back and think about how the world really works.
last epoch is an amazing game that has a price (pay once to play). this price was set way before there was the amount of content available today. there are cosmetics that, as usual in most games, are paid to help and support these content releases that were already handed "for free" if you just decided to pay the original price.
There will be an expansion and console release (i assume crossplatform play) that for who already owns the game and will continue to play on the same platform will mean more FREE content to play for the same price set ages ago.
A new class (completely outside the cosmos of what was expected for last epoch for the price it has) will be a paid content. i usually don't like to have classes locked behind paid dlc's but tbh, wow's example or diablo are worth noting, every wow xpac that released a class was paid so, can't really argue there.
TLDR: most of you guys paid box price for a game with entertainment worth of 5-10x the price. you can literally see 70+ bucks games on consoles and even PC that would take you less time to play than this one, and yet, many of you still find the need to bash without taking a step back and really look into the bigger picture and the reality of games nowadays

I think that monetizing a class leads to bad expectations vs selling an expansion with the class. It’s easier to stomach if it’s a separate silo I guess?

But as always ehg has cooked marketing and instead we got announcment of p2w classes(most likely) and a whole bunch of vague nothing, their roadmap that says only season 5,6 expansion *subject to change is a prime example of how hollow and useless the whole announcement was

1.) core game is not finished/needs improvement. Animations, bug fixes, campaign and mastery completion.
2.) people want faster seasons and more endgame content.
3.) all of this needs hiring and onboarding quickly to fix
4.) you need money for this- I’m guessing they couldn’t find anyone to buy just a piece of the company at an attractive enough valuation so they sold entirely to krafton
5.) krafton has a pretty bad reputation despite offering the best asking price so you have to contend with all of that too
6.) you need to monetize more aggressively to create value for the new owner before they’re invariably sold again in 5 years or whatever
7.) while all of this is happening people are demanding communication. Either you say nothing and people are upset or you say something and people are upset. The only way to avoid people being upset is utilizing pipelines of content production and polish EHG clearly doesn’t have yet
