Significant improvements came from micro-managing tunnel intersections, preventing them from automatically put down redlights, while making sure rail/road intersections had correct crossings that don't unbind roads/rails. I usually hand-pick buildings at a time for an internal note of jobs/demand, cause when you do change and/or converge space with larger buildings in the same zone plot, you'll have to adjust.

That being said, when you make your zones in to cookie-cutter box grids, it won't help traffic.

The biggest hurdle with traffic was realizing I couldn't destroy buildings for wider roads without a massive loss in demand as well as cash, and there's only room for one road.

Adding crossroads will help foot-traffic that cannot go anywhere and bring demand up.

It is why I have so many tunnels and
"Mexican Third-Lanes"

Also road building is most certainly complex. But I enjoy it. I like envisioning street maps of my cities with the perfectly placed arterial and collector routes to move traffic efficiently. Multilane roads are one of the things that, although plugins are a blessing, I wish TheoTown had native support for. It would make life easier. I still don't mind using one-ways or plugin packs though

Traffic continously becomes more fluently apparent, as efficiency allots them to traverse back and forth. A simple tunnel was not enough, and thus, an undergound highway was born.
