I think a very critical fact that you miss is the fact that the dev team is two people, who both use this as a lively hood. With that in mind you have to be able to cater to what the boarder game community wants. His issue is with how the game is monetized right? How can anyone possibly expect to be able to support a game without a way to make money off it. 7 dollars per sell is roughly 3.5 per dev and that's assuming that all of the money from that sell goes directly to them (spoiler it doesn't). It's simply impossible for the devs to be able to live off of this game and have it be "reasonably" priced as it is now

1. Build a better road layout
2. Manual build
3. Get a alot of plugins
4. Use Google Earth for inspiration or look at cities in #featured-cities
5. Use grey graphical shader (settings) optional
6. Don't use zone
7. Don't make the city just skyscrapers/very dense (unless you wanna make Dubai or HK or Tokyo or a very dense city)
8. Add more diverse environments? (Desert, swamps, jungle, mountains, etc) this is optional btw
9. Recommend using Sandbox Mode
