I cranked that to 5 minutes, gonna test a restart now
Interesting, wired devices reported state in 15 seconds but it took 45 seconds for the battery powered devices to show state, but they all came back this time
@brittle night I think my HA restart time is > 15 seconds and EMQX was closing the connection and deleting the non-retained states from topics without a subscriber left
Not sure what it's default timeout is for a client
I think it defaults to 60s
Regardless I need to enable retain for my battery-powered devices haha
anyone uses the enigma2 addonplugin ?
i have 2 questions..... i only have the default card on Dashboard, and what does it mean: change the "service" ?
where to ?
To change channel you can use your HA services page <-- sorry im new, but, what does it mean ? where is it ?
oh, develop mode, ok, got it
is there an EPG or TV Program guide out there ? (german one) ?
I recently (3 days ago) installed MariaDB on my HAOS installed on Intel NUC. After reading Frenck's points about SQLite and MariaDB, I want to revert back to SQLite. I'm not fussed about recent history in the DB, so I am looking at re-installing HAOS and then restoring a recent backup. Or can I just remove MariaDB, adjust recorder entry in configuration.yaml, restart/reboot?
hard to argue against frenck but a lot of us are happy with mariadb with no issues..
but to answer your question i believe all you do is remove mariadb in configuration.yaml and lose the 10days of stats or w/e you have them set to
Thanks for that - I didn't know whether the default database would be created
and re the discussion about which database, that's the beauty of this place right?
iirc i saw improvements when moving from sqlite to mariadb
but this was a year or two ago and i was on pi4 hardware then too
if you look on github and the chatter in #beta bdraco does A LOT of database work to make it better
yeah, I'm trying to find a no-nonsense setup for my folks, so I'm looking for the "most supported" and I guess that's going to be from within
best thing you can do is stay up to date reading patch notes so breaking changes are handled as they come not all at once after 6+ months of not touching it
and i'd suggest running it on notapi4 or at least SSD boot if you are planning to use that hardware. but we should jump to #hardware-archived if you want to talk better options
Thanks for the help - I'm off to have a go at the move back. I'll let the channel know how I go. Thanks again
Done. It was that easy. I have a full two minutes of History!!
Hi. Could you share a link to Frenck's points about SQLite and MariaDB please? I'm new to HA and have found lots of 2 year old guides on YouTube suggesting switching to MariaDB.
Scroll back to 28/3 or search for frenck in this channel

is the ssl certificate the cloudflared issues downloaded to HA? if so, what is the path? i am connecting locally in some cases using internal dns and not public cloudflared one and believe I need to point my ssl cert paths appropriately. its not in the typical ssl directory
maybe a more general question, what is the path addons are installed to using HA OS on RPi4?
No, as the SSL certificate isn't used by the cf addon or your HA instance, it's only utilized by cf
Hi! is there any way to use the NPM just like the normal nginx and add reverse proxy rules with location / {} blocks? Or is there a nginx/apache addon?
I just want to use my home assistant alongside emulated hue on port 80 without using a reverse proxy on a secondary host
Hello! Trying to add the espHome add-on. When I search in the add-on store it's not listed anymore. I read from esp's website that's depreciated and I just need to use the repository or there add-on link. If I try to use the link they provide it rerouts back to HA as normal, but then says add on not found. If I try to use the GitHub repo it gives me this error "can't add https://github.com/esphome/home-assistant-addon, already in store" but right underneath it list that there are no repositories.
My esp32 can easily be found as an integration, but I cannot add as an add-on. Can anyone help?
Yeah, should be there by default, maybe try a
-> Check for Updates and then a Ctrl+F5 in your browser
If that doesn't work, check out https://my.home-assistant.io/redirect/logs/ and select Supervisor in the upper right dropdown
@bitter skiff - thanks, I'll give that a try!
From what I've tried, you can use subdomains to have multiple HTTPS though the nginx proxy manager at least. I'm using it with the CloudFlare add-on though. If that's what you're asking about...
Because you also can't run HA on a path other than /
Hi, how can I have two devices added via mqtt? I just added a computer via hassagent and use mqtt to entity and i also want to connect my mqtt to supla broker to be able to control the socket. How can I do this?
that's rather ... bold of you
Puns? Straight to jail dot gif
What?
also sounds like maybe mosquitto broker to broker bridging
How to control the supla?
would it not be easier to use the supla integration in HA?
but like I said, if you want to do what you said you'll want to search how to bridge the brokers
https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/supla And where to get the address?
says it's for your account so I'd start there
Hi all, my name is Nachetos and I have a question. Most probably it has been answered before and maybe with a bit experience with docker the question is easy to answer. Unfortunately I am not so familiar with Docker. I will describe as precise as possible my issue. I have an armbian based (nanopi) board. I have installed Homeassistant using docker. As it is known, the docker version of Homeassistant doesnt have the Addons option in the webbrowser GUI. I want to add some addons and I know that it is possible to do it adding the containers of the addons using docker..... this is the theory, but how can I do it (comands and files needed)? For example Mosquitto MQTT broker
You'd use this image: https://hub.docker.com/_/eclipse-mosquitto
They have instructions on the site there
that is very helpful..... Thanks Impact
Tell me what I'm doing wrong, I connected the server with the supla token but I still don't have access to the switch
Hello. I wanna install vaultwarden as add-on and set up my own password manager. I wanna know if i will be ably to sync my password between multiple platforms ( such as android , my pc , etc.. ) if home assistant is running on a raspberry pi
I just need to be connected on the same network in order for them to sync?
Hello! In the HA Supervisor log I see a row about the Lounge add-on (self-hosted web IRC client) which I never installed. The row is this:
KeyError: 'a0d7b954_thelounge'
I am concerned and worried why a log in HA refers to an add-on I never installed. Is this a security threat? 🧐 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.
The OS you use really shouldn't matter
actually what worries me are security ( external attacks ) and syncing
for what i understand i need to install also duckdns , create a domain , token etc, port forwarding, etcc, .. and then i set up bit warden on self host environment of the gear
How to set a differenr configuration directory for the unofficial SSH addon? I would like to share it between containers
You don't have to make it accessible to the wide net. You can use something like tailscale
Is there a server where i can address issues related to Sonoff LAN integration?
is this using the sonoff wifi bridge or?
No sonoff powr320d.
what a strange product lol
i'd just ask in #integrations-archived if it's relating to how to integrate it etc
Issue is that with their latest Sonoff LAN update in HA. I got cloud warning and my device that is a water pump turned off.
delete that it has api key right?
jump to #integrations-archived and explain what you're doing and what isn't working
they care what channel you are in here
Thanks
I installed Home Assistant on my existing Debian server. I set up DuckDNS and it seems to work. I can connect to http:;//<mydomain>.duckdns.org:8123 and it brings me to the login on an unsecure site. I can't seem to get the certs installed to make it work from https. I do not see a /ssl folder. I believe Debian keeps certs in /etc/ssl/certs, but I don't see this one there either. How do I know where or if it's generating the certs? I don't see any helpful logging about that.
Supervised? I'm not sure 100%, but how about /usr/share/hassio/ssl
im having trouble with setting up nginx proxy manager, its not letting me add a poxy for some reason and it keeps saying internal error and its not giving anymore.
duckdns add-on in HA only updates the ip of the sub domain. if you want to have a secure/https you want to download and setup NGINX Home Assistant SSL proxy addon.
or nginx proxy manager which im currently trying to migrate but not having a great time with it.
I thought that was the purpose of letsencrypt.
I think the duck add-on does do both
I've just refreshed my token on github for HACS , because i was using an old token format. but where can i input this new token for HACS ?
HACS is not an addon
Yeah it does both sorry. They just need to go to the configuration.yaml and add.
@dusk belfry
ssl_certificate: /ssl/fullchain.pem
ssl_key: /ssl/privkey.pem
I haven't used duckdns like that for a while and use NGINX
I just have duckdns addon to automatically change the ip if it do change.
I just end up using my own domain with cloudflared and nginx proxy manager
i cant get nginx proxy working and when i try to add an SSL it just says Internal Error
i went to the log and this is what it spit out.

I mean it looks like you should take a look at the letsencrypt.log
how do i open that?
im currently ssh in and i dont know how to open the log files
Yeah I have that. But it's not creating certs in that location.
even after restart?
Yes, restarted everything. I'm not running on the raspberry pi distro though. I'm just running the testing release of plain Debian. When I look for SSL certs, it seems like the usual place is in etc/ssl/. But it's not creating it there either.
I thought maybe if I changed the path in configuration.yaml, that might help, but it didn't. I don't know if it's hitting any write permission problems. I can't see where errors are being logged.
If I could actually get my hands on a rpi cm4, I'd do a more standard build using my home assistant yellow. For now, I'm just using an old PC that I set up as a Plex server.
@errant onyx i figured it out. my dumbass forgot to port forward port 80 ._.
i have 443 but not 80
oops lol
hmmm now my problem is im getting 400 bad request
Help a brother out trying to get his Zigbee2MQTT add-on to work. I've had ZHA installed previously and wanted to migrate to Z2M and am just having problems with this.
I've now installed the Mosquitto broker add-on, created a MQTT local user, set-up the Mosquitto broker integration, installed Zigbee2MQTT, added the MQtt user login to Z2M's config, Z2M seems to also start. But I can't discover any devices
e.g. I've got an innr light bulb (RB 286 C-2). I've done the factory reset as it's directed (turn on once, then quickly 6x on/off, the lamp also did a light cycle loop which I guess should signify that's now resetted), but it's not getting discovered
wtf am I doing wrong?
I'm assuming you're clicking the permit join button to have it be able to pair up?
yep clicked permit join all before I did the reset a couple of times
any of the other devices work or?
work in what sense? I've had to deactive ZHA for Z2M to start so I can't test them, but they're working normally as not smart devices I guess
oh I mean for pairing but yeah definitely need to turn off ZHA before you can swap
you probably want #zigbee-archived with more specifics as to which dongle and what not too
hi, I'm trying to install mosquitto and I want a username/password for it that is not one of the built-in home assistant usernames. there's a "logins" box on the mosquitto broker add-on configuration page but I can't find any reference material on how you're actually supposed to format what you type in the box.
it just says "Logins" and then there's an empty text entry box
and it keeps resetting the box to blank every time I get something wrong, which isn't annoying at all lol
oh, a yaml list. the way the text underneath the box is phrased made me think I was just supposed to go
user, password, user2, password2
slapping this in there seems to have done something
password: passwd```
thanks
hooray, it's alive
👍
@errant onyx im having 400 bad request for my home assistant still and I dont know how to fix it. it works fine with my other machine connecting from the internet and using NPM as a proxy.
Hi. New to HA. Setting up a Yellow PoE today. Tried twice to install the SSH and Web Terminal add-on. The second time there was a popup saying it failed and to check the Supervisor logs. I don't see anything that mentions the add-on or that is obviously labelled as an error.
Can you share the logs and the popup?
@regal wedge I converted your message into a file since it's above 15 lines :+1:
Do I need to install the official Terminal & SSH add-on prior to installing the community SSH & Web Terminal add-on?
no, they're completely separate
maybe the ports?
I've probably missed a really obvious pre-requisite. 🤦♂️
Will try some other add-ons.
That can't be all of the logs. Also please don't modify them
Sorry, Discord was going to truncate as I do not have Nitro.
Where should I get them from please, if not http://homeassistant.local:8123/config/logs with Supervisor selected top right.
Tried the other SSH add-on and that also failed.
You can use pastebin or similar and share the link. The supervisor logs should tell you something about downloading an addon and so on. If it doesn't there might be something wrong with it and we have to investigate further
Thank you. https://pastebin.com/tVuPrnJ2
This, to the best of my knowledge, is the full Supervisor log.
Home Assistant 2023.3.6
Supervisor 2023.03.3
Operating System 9.5
Frontend 20230309.1 - latest
In case it might be relevant... I made a change to /mnt/boot/config.txt earlier, adding dtoverlay=disable-wifi
I don't believe I amended anything else in the file by accident.
hey, ijust moved me os over from virtualbox to proxmox and im getting the following error on the silicon labs addon for my skyconnect
23-04-03 20:01:40 ERROR (MainThread) [supervisor.addons.addon] Add-on core_silabs_multiprotocol can't write options```
how can i fix that
nvm fixed but just reinstalling the addon
Howdy. I'm just setting up HA and running into issues getting data into influxdb... I've got a really basic config and can reach it from my grafana server but HA doesn't seem to be pushing any data in.
My Ha configuration.yaml has:
influxdb:
host: a0d7b954-influxdb # I have also tried localhost, influxdb, etc
port:8086
database: home_assistant
username: homeassistant
password: password
ssl: false
verify_ssl: false
max_retries: 3
default_measurement: state
# This was added just the last restart.. I planned to start with no filters but I thought I would try restricting since leaving out filters wasn't working.
include:
entities:
- sensors.sump_pump_power_meter
any ideas why visual code server doesnt get installed ? i cant get it started:

Has anyone facing issues with StudioCode add on? For me, suddenly it is not starting. I have restored to 5.5.4 - the oldest I have on backups and no success.
lol, thats the same as me:D
Can I validate in my config.json that a value is a valid base64 encoded 32-byte string?
Sorry if I wasn't clear - I don't want to generate a string, I want to validate that the user entered one
Sounds like you want #devs_add-ons-archived
@lucid blade @waxen harness 5.5.6 is working for me. Are you waiting long enough for it to get started?
i press start
and it goes off....
lol...now i press start and nothing happens D
no log refresh, or anything else, and yes, deinstallation and installtion 😄 noooothing...
is anyone familiar with InfluxDB
Tailscale question: Ive just spun up a demo HA instance on a pi and installed tailscale....... When I access HA over the IP address using a browser - its not using HTTPS. Should it be????
No. You have to configure a https certificate for that first. Tailscale has an option for that though I haven't tried it: https://tailscale.com/kb/1153/enabling-https/
Hi I am trying to add HACS to HA core docker. Running the script bloks with the message "hacs.zip: Permission non accordée. Impossible d’écrire dans ‘hacs.zip’ (Succès)". What is wrong with the rigths ?
was wondering if anyone uses mqtt ring with video streaming addon. try to set it up but running into some road blocks
Hi... i need some expert help... i'm trying to create a influx2 addon and struggeling accross some discrepancy between my life system and my devvelopmentcontainer.

Hello,
i am currently developing an addon that essentially just launches jdownloader.
i want to show the webui as a side panel using the panel icon.
i configured everything correct (i think) and the addon runs as expected.
the only thing that is not working is that there is no panel icon shown and there is also no switch on the config page to enable the panel icon...
https://github.com/jappyjan/homeassistant-addons
what am i doing wrong?
the same influsdb.sh is working flawless on my developmentcontainer
my problem starts with lifting Build_From from ghcr.io/hassio-addons/debian-base/amd64:6.1.2 to ghcr.io/hassio-addons/debian-base/amd64:6.2.5
thx ... sorry
nice, after supervisor update, the Studio Code Server works now
o.O
Is this the best place to get some assistance with the Zigbee2MQTT Addon?
#zigbee-archived probably
Ah, missed that channel, cheers!
Hi, does anyone know cups addon that work with apple airprint?
worked so far with new updates.
Hi all, I've been using MariaDB for a few years now to host my home assistant DB. I've followed recommendation of Youtube channels at the time the built in HA database was rather unstable and had some performance issues. Since then I've lost my data twice (when Maria would not recover from a backup - which still often doesn't work) and had it be more unstable than the basic DB ever was.
With all the work put into the built in DB over the last 5-6 cycles, is it time to finally ditch MariaDB for the integrated one?
I am not expecting consensus response, but anecdotal evidence between the two would be appreciated.
I switched and haven't noticed any functional differences. The backups now include the database, so they're all bigger...
the devs are currently suggesting sqlite as the more performant database unless there are cpu contstraints or if you are using a microSD card due to excessive writes (this assumes you are running mariadb externally in this case)
i moved back from mariadb this morning without migrating and all is well
I am running HA OS VM inside Unraid on an NVME SSD with 4 free cores and 8GB of ram for it
cool
My backups have always included MariaDB so they've been in the 2GB range and 4GB if they included InfluxDB
Not too concerned with it being this big as long as backups work.
How would one go about doing it without losing statistics and such
there's some posts on reddit / the forum - i have no idea
defaults are only 10 days of stats so unless you changed things it doesnt really matter
losing 10 days aint shit lol
Yeah I mean long term stats not the 10 days of current sensor info
The Energy dashboard and other information such as that
arent those stored in your influx setup?
you're talking about migrating mariadb to sqlite not influx right?
They have never been stored there
InfluxDB is a completely different database
Yes, I am
i was under the impression that all long term stats were sent to influxdb including energy etc. I set that up and decided i dont care about fancy dashboards so i just removed it all. i'll let someone else jump in
Majority of people don't have influxdb so how would all the basic functionality work if it would have relied on it.
If you open your database using any editor your will find tables called statistics
Hi
Is that a known issue with 2023.04 that kiosk mode is not working anymore?
Hi everyone. I'm installing ring-mqtt addon on a new system and for some reason when i try to enter my user and password to receive the token, the submit button seems broken.
clicking it does nothing. Anyone ever experience this? I've tried restarting the addon, home assistant itself and even reinstalling the addon.
This keeps repeating in the log if it adds any insight.

Hi there. I see there was an update for the Mosquitto broker (6.2.0) and I tried updating it the other day and all my MQTT sensors from Solar Assistant broke. Is there a correct way of updating?
Do I stop the add-on, update and start it up again?
Because I just clicked update from the "Updates" page
Hey everyone. Does someone has Chrony sucesfully installed and running?
That is fine, there isn't a specific procedure to update other than to update. You'll want to make sure the broker started again and check both mosquitto and HA logs for info on what's not working
Ok thank you. This time I'll try stopping, updating and starting the add-on again. So there's nothing that needs to be done with the integration after updating the add-on?
Correct, if you just update via the UI, it'll appropriately stop, update and restart the add on for you
So if it's not running now, there maybe an issue with it starting
The logs will tell you
Ok, I'm going to try over the long weekend. Want to wait a day or 2 before doing anything because I've just updated HA to 2023.4.1 and I don't want to disturb those db optimization updates.
Hello guys. I just updated my HASS to 2023.4.1 and my supervisor to 2023.04.0.
I am getting a "500 Internal Server Error Server got itself in trouble" for the ESPHome addon.
I have tried restarting the addon as well as Home Assistant itself
The log files show everything in the addon has successfully started and it is not producing any errors.
The only error I see in my supervisor is "ERROR (MainThread) [aiohttp.server] Error handling request" but I am not sure if it is related or not.
Does anyone here know why I might have an issue running Studio Code Server from the android app? When clicking the tab it opens into a black screen. Any idea on how to troubleshoot this?
It works when using my HA domain via the web
Also, is it normal to not be able to access supervisor logs (HA OS) when performing a full backup?
Failed to get supervisor logs, Unknown error, see supervisor logs
Hi, does anyone have Tailscale working properly in HA, when the HA install is HAOS running as a VM inside VirtualBox (v7)?
I can install Tailscale Add-on & it starts up fine in HA, connects fine to my TS network (verified in TS admin console) but I can't actually connect or even ping any of my other TS endpoints.
I have my virtual NIC in VB set as bridged and allowing all traffic and it's allowing "normal" traffic through fine and out to my default gateway, but I just can't get TS to pass traffic - although it is showing as connected (and verified) in the TS admin console, which implies traffic is getting in/out.
Anyone else got this kind of setup working? Thanks.
Hi everyone ! I have again problem with add-on repository: if I open "repositories" from the gui is empty, if I try to add the standard repository it said it's already present in the list (I can't see it), when I check for update nothing happen and all the plugin already installe are grey ... now I'm in troble because I upgraded the core and Z-wave is not working because too old 😭 .
Anyone can help me ??
Somethimes, in the log, I have the message that github is not reachable, but I don't know why ! the DNS is fine
Now I restored the core to the versione 2023.3.6 the last that let me work with my versione of Z-Wave
I want to have a virtual thermostat that checks a specified temperature sensor value and either fires off specific actions when the target mode changes (meaning it's above the set point for cold or below the set point for heating) or just redirects that to another thermostat control, is there an addon for this?
I have 4 minisplits that heat/cool and a central furnace and a bunch of temperature sensors around the house and want to tie them all together
You probably don't need an add-on, maybe look at the generic thermostat integration (#integrations-archived channel relevant). You may need to wire up the logic however you want it to work with lots of separate systems like that though
on and off I've been trying for months to get this to work.. but I always get this message.. Failed to start add-on Port '8555' is already in use by something else on the host.
the only other thing that could be using that port is simply not installed.. and I've rebooted
So what does that mean? How can I solve this?
format and start from scratch?
and meanwhile.. Frigate (Full Access) Beta (0.12.0) Add-on is not running. Please start it first
so It's a massive FU.
Is possible to configure the ftp addon to work through nabu casa?
Or alternatively, a good writeup on how to setup automated config check and GitHub pull?
probably dumb question, but im configuring an add on that says
Please, allow the incoming TCP connection on port 54236 from your HA instance
I'm running ha through proxmox. is this a router thing i need to change or a proxmox thing, or is it something in home assistant intself
Most likely just router first and then check the next layers...
figured it out, lmao, it was on the recieving device, my computer
I am running HA as a virtual machine in VirtualBox on windows and have updated to the most recent April update 2023.4.2. I have 6 Reolink cameras connected to a Reolink NVR using the included integration. All camera's work as expected using a picture-glance but trying to reduce latency I am trying to setup RTSP to Web\WebRTC. When I install the add-on my HA instance freezes and I have to restart the VM. There is nothing in the logs but occasionally I get the following error. I am banging my head against the wall because the add-on works great until it freezes.

The version of HA does not seem to matter as I have tested back to 2023.1

how?

can you just use a different port on the program you are starting?
thanks, i swear I tried googling for keywords but somehow still missed these threads 🤦♂️
I can only do that in a container
and there's nothing
Yeah that's something you'd run on the host directly. You can run docker ps inside a container though
seems like it's now impossible to run ANY addon on port 8555 because even none is too many
not running.. start it.. can't start it.. port taken
formatting and starting from scratch seems to be the only option
not terribly user friendly :/
seems I have to install a version of frigate that home assistant will agree is running on the port without running on the port while it's running on the port/
makes me want to kill myseLf.. start it.. can't start it. staRT IT.. CAN'T START IT.. AD INFINITUM.
seems this might be a known problem.. just a broken home assistant until it's solved..
What errors are you getting? Still the port is in use?
it seems like the issue is that something is already running on that port. Either determine what is already using that port and close it or use a different port which should be an option.
not running start it can t start it port
with Browser mod, if I wanted to recall a security camera to make it appear if for example I have a person passing in front of it .. I tried with the camera function. (path) but it returns me a blank page even if home assistan says that everything is in order.. does anyone know how i should do it??
I managed to do it, but only on the browser of my pc where I installed Home assistant.. Not on the mobile phone or tablet, because the browsermod popup doesn't allow me to choose either the target or the identities.. does anyone know why?
None of that sounds like an addon. I suggest #frontend-archived
When using HAOS, how can I view tasmoadmin "container" I guess..
Not the WebUI, I'm talking like ssh into it
@solid kite You'd want to use the community ssh addon which allows for docker commands, disable it's protection mode, then use docker exec -it [container-id-or-name] /bin/bash
This is what I get when I try to do a docker list
[core-ssh ~]$ docker list
-bash: docker: command not found
Which ssh addon are you using
Do you see a protection mode to disable?
If you don't then that's the wrong one
There are two SSH add-ons
It's the wrong one
Yeah we already know it's the wrong one. Just trying to get you to look harder. You need SSH & Web terminal. Confusing? Yes.
It has more features.

Does anyone know if the addon Emulate Hue still works??
I lost more than a day trying to make this work and not sure why it doesn't. I freed the port 80, I can connect. But basically everything that I try to do in Hue Essentials app, I get an error message. Can someone please help me?
im having an issue, i installed Samba addon with password and username, and also my router ip address. But i get an error when trying to connect to the server in the network folder. It says that the server may not exist or the ip-address is wrong..?
Anyone use the grocy addon and the api? I'm wondering how many details you need to create an entry. I'm hoping I can just make them with fodd, location, expiration but from using the front-end it seems like it requires a lot more details than that.
You don't need to change any of the allowed addresses on your typical home network
any idea how much memory I need to be able to spawn vs code server in HA? used to run just fine but some of the recent updates to HA have my memory footprint a lot higher then it was in the past and now I can't get VSCode to start, and I wonder if it's because the host it's running out of memory
although after last restart of HA and giving it another gig of memory it still fails to start and the vm LOOKS like it's got plenty of free memory
Well the addon developer recommends 4G. I'd check the logs of the addon. Probably via the SSH addon and docker logs -f addon_..._vscode
You can install glances and check the memory usage. No point in XYing. Also check docker stats
Any card is not an addon
The intention is to have the bedroom section in line with the rest
Pah alright
hi, how do i get access to download files in File editor out of the /share/motioneye folder?
Am I crazy or is there no simple parsimonious way to display a countdown/timer from HA in Appdaemon?
I'm having a difficult time making any sense of getting Tailscale working on my RPi 4b. I setup the RPi using the standard getting started method and it's running the latest version of Home Assistant. I have a Tailscale account and generated the API key and put all that info into Tailscale Integration. I also added the community Add-on for Tailscale and got that going. In the Trailscale dashboard the RPi shows up. If I go on my phone and I'm not on the LAN I can successfully ping the Tailscale URL listed for the HA install but if I try that same URL in a web browser it comes back saying :
This site can't be reached
URL refused to connect
My home network is a Ubiquiti Dream Machine router along with 2 of their hardwired access points. The RPi is connected hardwired.
Any suggestions? I also have Nabu Casa but want a 2nd way into my machine. I've had several situations in the past where Nabu Casa was no longer working but the machine itself was up and running and could be accessed locally. The solution has been a reboot and I'm hoping Tailscale is another way in for recovery.
(note - posted this in #integrations-archived but was told it should be here. Wasn't sure as tailscale seems to be both an integration and an add-on)
Good Day! Looking for some help with MariaDB and InfluxDB. Basically just added both with basic setup configuration and since then my backups changed from ~60MB to 225MB and growing 70-100MB every 3 days! (all prior backups with HA DB were only growing about 2MB every 3 days...recorder is 90 days)
Step 1. - go back to SQLite and remove mariadb. Step 2. Realize influx is meant to store data long term and growing backup sizes is your new reality
Well, I want to store some things long term like my home energy usage. I just don't understand why with SQLite the same data was only growing 2MB/day? Why do you suggest removing mariadb?
The devs have recently stated SQLite is more optimized so all the old suggestions to switch to mariadb aren’t relevant for 99% of people
And your question about db size has to do with influxdb not SQLite
Is it possible to copy data captured in mariadb back to sqlite so I won't lose those days of history?
Yes a guy posted how yesterday if you want to search here
It was in #general-archived I think
Note that last check of backup, mariadb was the size bandit. In ~800MB tar HA was 68MB, Influx 247MB and Maria 495MB! I will search, thanks!
o.O how much data did you set to allow in the recorder? vs for influx
my influx tends to be larger than my sqlite and I have fewer things being sent to influx
hi , is there a working config for media extractor that works with YT at the moment ?
Hello All, I've replaced my coordinator with a new one, and zigbee2mqtt wont restart, it mentions most likely network with the same panId or extendedPanId already exists nearby, where is this as this was removed fron the yaml ages ago
Any pointers ?
I do not use zigbee2mqtt as a HA addon but it is on another machine as a docker container. Its frontend is accessible via http:/ip_of_the_docker_container:port. To see it directly from HA I put panel_iframe: in configuration.yaml. Works great when I access HA locally. When accessing remotely there is an error that says http iframes cannot be opened via https (as that's how HA is being acessed). Recently I used traefik to put SSL on everything inside my network, and so now zigbee2mqtt is accessible inside my lan via https://z2m.lan.mydomain.com/. I put this in panel_iframe and again locally works fine, but remotely ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED. Makes sense as the z2m subdomain is visible only locally. Anyone uses the same type of config and came up with a solution?
You can also look into alternatives like timescale, which is known for efficient compression
The solution... just append the port :8123 to the end of the tailscale URL.
huh
When I try to add the 'cloudflared' addon
it doesnt show up
im adding it by repository
nvm got it
Is it possible to open an additional port to an Addon ?
i'd like to open the new RTC2Go port (8554) for the frigate addon but the GUI only alow me to open 5000 and 1935
After a power outage my qcow2 became corrupted. So I setup a new vm and restored a backup. None of the addons will start. Any ideas?
Even after reinstalling them
@mild ember reboot the vm so everything gets started correctly.
settings > System > power icon in the upper right corner can do it from within HA
click on advanced options, then reboot
There was no change unfortunately. Im adding all the addons first then restoring
did you restart HA or reboot the vm?
restarting HA only restarts HA and doesn't touch anything else
Yes I restarted the host
ok
so then I tested with a single add on then restored and that addon would start. Rest wouldnt.
So im restoring now and we will see if the addons work again. Il do another reboot though.
@sly kindle I think all is good.
I’ve installed 2 add-ons(Tilebord and VSC) and whenever I try open either of them I get a bad gateway 502 error
Check the addon logs
My file editor add one is showing 401: unauthorized all of a sudden
How can i fix this
Hey guys,
Been trying to get HA add-ons to work, but can't seem to find a copy of HA that runs the supervisor mode.
ended up using "http://192.168..**:8123/hassio/system/info" to get a message back that said - "Could not load Supervisor Panel!
Followed the promts which led me to the discord.
Am running Home Assistant 2023.4.4 through Docker on a Synology and would love someone to point me in the right direction. HASO version - supervisor.
End reason for HA is to run ESPHOME.
That totally explains my last week.. lol
There's a table on the HA installation page that would have cleared that up
Was running through the install here: https://www.home-assistant.io/installation/alternative
Dived deep, but didn't see the table. 😦
There no need for any of that if you just want to run ESPHome
Appreciate the direction. I like HA, and wanted to integrate both HA and ESPH.
What you pointed to is a virtual machine install of HAOS, which does support addons
If I swap out Docker for VM, it should work then?
i would like to add a virtual numpad on home assistant to use to enter numbers into the input boxes how can i do that
Hello, I tried to find a way to edit DDFs for the deCONZ HA Addon for Hassio. Could you please indicate what is the appropriate way to edit/upload DDFs as there is not direct access to the /config dir. #deconz
Any frigate experts here? I'm having issues with ffmpeg process constantly crashing and I'm trying different stream methods and wanted to see what you recommend.
I don't want to shill my addon (iSponsorBlockTV - block youtube adverts on apple tv) but I also don't want people having no idea it exists and being forced to reinvent the wheel
I made a forum post, do I need to add it anywhere else like some sort of "Awesome List" or anything else?
if i'm using Home Assistant OS (in VM).. do I need to use "InfluxDB 2 auth" influx connection option to be able to downsample data?
Hi guys, i'm trying to install ESPHome addon. Once the install finishes successfully I'm clicking the start button and after a while it says it fails. When looking at the addon logs it says it was started successfully. But this way i'm not able to open the UI link (I still see start button). I also tried to uninstall and start all over again and restart HA. nothing helped.
I'm on 2023.4.2
Appreciate your help...
Idk. Im rolling back to 2023.4.2 becouse 2023.4.4 broke whole esphome. Every device offline by import error.
https://github.com/mkocus/hass-lovelace-kindle-screensaver might be interesting instead of the other add-on (same purpose you are after it seems)
Looks great thanks! Puppeteer was beyond my skills!
Hi everyone! I have a freshly minted HA running on rpi 3b. I am trying to install this repo: https://github.com/MickMake/HomeAssistantAddons
What am I doing wrong? It never produces a list of addons or an install option. THanks!
Any errors in the logs?
23-04-16 22:10:04 INFO (MainThread) [supervisor.store.git] Cloning add-on https://github.com/MickMake/HomeAssistantAddons repository
23-04-16 22:10:11 INFO (MainThread) [supervisor.store] Loading add-ons from store: 70 all - 1 new - 0 remove
This was from the last attempt. Could it be that it takes ages to load and I'm not waiting long enough?
I'm still learning HA myself, was hoping the log would have hinted at an issue, but nope.
I'm not sure tbh, maybe one of the more knowledgeable guys may be able to help.
it actually doesn't look like an error, but in the instructions it says "Scroll down the page to find the new repository, and click the new add-on named you want."
The category "MickMake Hass.io Addons" never appears.
Thank you @strong shoal
What version of HA are you running?
Stab in the dark, but maybe the addon is made for older HA than your running.
Home Assistant 2023.4.4
Supervisor 2023.04.0
Operating System 9.5
Frontend 20230411.1 - latest

if you add the repo does it populate your addon library?
I'd try but not actually got a HA instance running right now.
ok, thanks anyway
Ok, i waited about 10 minutes, and a browser refresh was the answer. Such a noob. Thank you Bass Ape for helping out
Hi, does somebody has expirience with the pschmitt flic button repository? I added it to the Add-On repository but i cant find it
it doesnt appear anywhere
i recently started using proxmox backup server and zfs on it but i can't really find anything that lets me check status of backups in HA, if they ran, if everything was ok, if the zfs pool is good or degrated etc etc. Anyone how of any plugin ?
Is there a way to use the AddOns store on the docker (container) version? I'm using the latest one, following closely the instructions, and everything works fine, but I can't find a way to enable the store 😦
Thanks! So which route? Install rp os, and then building HASS?
any pointers are much appreciated.
if you want easy route just use the HAOS image for your pi
From what I read, HAOS is no longer compatible with Pi Zero as of version 8.5...
some networking issue
You’re the second pi zero guy today lol
lol
😦
can I at least access my configuration.yaml file with my docket build?
i can ssh do the device
I installed the Plex Server add-on. It's running, no errors in the log but I can't open the webui. I'm also using duckdns to reach my HA from everywhere. Someone knows if I have to do something to Plex work? If I use the IP address, the webui opens but it shows that the connection is not safe
Hello, trying to build an addon. I have been trying to setup the dev container in vs clde. For some reason, the on boarding is stuck after the statistics view. I tried cleaning cache, using another browser (Firefox). Tried pruning everything in docker. Tried on different systems (win11, Ubuntu). Did not see any relevant logs from the command.
Not sure if anyone is having the problem. I tried to pull add-ons that have a dev container config with the same result.
Anyone here that knows alot about ZeroTier and DNS?
I have 3 instanses of HA at home and one in the cabin.
My main HA at home run most of the things. But HA2 and HA3 is running AdGuard Add-on.
I created an account at ZeroTier and added all 4 HA servers, and my Android phone.
I can now access all servers through IP address.
If I allow ZeroTier to use AdGuard DNSs I asume they will serve the Internal IP, and not the ZeroTier IP. And there by fail if I'm not at home.
Would it work if I set up DNSmasq on HA1 and add the enties för my HA servers, and point ZeroTier to that DNS Server?
Will HA1 get in trouble to reach other resources in my local network, like by BlueIris server and so on? Do I need to add the records for all local resources as will in the DNSmasq server?
I can't set my AdGuard servers as Upstream servers for DNSmasq, as the serve the same domain, can I?
If I ask my AdGuard server for the IP of HA1.mydomain.com I get 192.168.1.x but if I ask DNSmasq for the same server I would like to get 172.22.211.x
But then no matter which one I ask for blueiris.mydomain.com I would like to get 192.168.1.y in both cases as I to day get when I ask AdGuard.
Am I way out, and totaly wrong in my thoughts?
sounds really convoluted...
why not have multiple DNS servers and sync the settings instead or something
I want whatever drugs he’s using
If I have multiple DNS servers I can't recieve differnet IP addresses depending on if I access it through the ZeroTier network of if I access from my LAN, can I?
you're probably best off drawing yourself a diagram of which DNS server serves what and to whom... and then just making sure those DNS servers get handed out appropriately by what ever you're connecting to
not really an add-on question. more like overly complicated networking
imo keep it simple
It's a combination of toothache and a mix of a lot of painkillers 😉
Anyone know if I could put in the parameter for listen-address in the DNSmasq add-on?
what is ... "it"
can anyone tell me what i would put in here to increment my helper value by +10 every time i hit this button on my stream deck? - https://i.imgur.com/7ZjlGp7.png
doesn't look like there's an option for the service. but you could configure the thing to increment in steps of 10
anyone use the scryped addon? I'm trying to figure out where the config folder is. I'm hoping to move scrypted to a different server because my HA keeps crashing and that is the only major change I can think that I've made recently.

Hi, I just did a restore from a full backup on my raspberry pi 3b+ and and the restore was succsesfull. But none of my addons are working anymore. Cannot start the addons, for example the file editor wont start, nothing in the logs suggesting it shouldnt start. Did a reinstall of the file editor addon but still wont start
Anyone know what I can do?
Also did a restart of home assistant with no success. Trying a reboot of raspberry pi now
A reboot fixed it.
perfect. thank you
dear new friends, here is my first question:
I just installed the masquitto broker plugin. I have not seen it difficult. but at the time of starting it does not let me.
What I can be doing wrong?
Hi, just wanted to ask if there is any way to use wake on lan via homeassistant
Thx lmao i should have looked a bit longer
It works pretty well for me. I’m also using a windows app called hass.agent to be able to put it to sleep
Oh thats nice
I'm running HAOS. I have an add-on that uses a python library, and I reported a bug with the add-on that is caused by the python library. The dev would like me to test the fix before he merges it. Is it possible to access and modify a python library on HAOS (using SSH or SMB)?
Hi, I am running the nginx addon successfully for HA, encryption end to end via Cloudflare. I was wondering if I could use the same nginx instance to reach another host (in this case OpenSprinkler) via a different domain or path. I can see the customize.servers option, but can't find documentation on this addon except for its use for Home Assistant itself.
Hi everyone!
i see, there are already open issues on github and it has been addressed here as well. I would love to use Grocy and the ios app from the appstore. I have like everyone else the problem that I get a 401 error. does anyone have a solution?
You'll have to give more info than that to assist; likely why the issue on core has no movement either. No issues with the app, long term tokens or Grocy here.
Oh yes, sorry.. here is a screenshot from the error message inside the app
you'll have to paste it somewhere and post the link here
Well.. yeah hahaa

🤷♂️ That in itself doesn't convey a 401
There's this issue here, which equally has no information about what the actual problem is: https://github.com/supergeorg/Grocy-SwiftUI/issues/158
Yes, I saw that
Always the way, after searching for the answer to the nginx question above, then posting to discord, I stumbled across the answer in a forum by searching for something different. https://community.home-assistant.io/t/using-nginx-ssl-proxy-to-forward-different-domains-to-different-services/347342
Hello all,
I have HA on an Intel NUC and among other things I have the deconz add-on installed.
How can I now access the instance of deconz via SSH?
SOLUTION to copy DDF files to deconz Container:
So for me the following way works to copy DDF files to the deconz container:
- List all containers and search the ID of the desired container.
- Then copy the file to the desired directory of the container
- docker container ls
- docker cp soureFile dockerID:/data/core_deconz/.local/share/dresden-elektronik/deCONZ/devices
The copied DDF file can then be used with the deCONZ software for a device.
So it should also be possible to copy files into other containers
Hello everybody!
Is there a way to backup/export the data of the influxdb add-on, so that I can import it in another influxdb instance? I am using HASSOS, but I don't know how to SSH into/start a shell in the influx container (which I think is running), to export everthing. I also tried to connect to the influxdb-instance from my local machine, but no luck yet. I am thankful for every pointer you might be able to give me!

I'm using MQTT Server & Web client Current version: 1.2.0 (Changelog)
For me the Zigbee2MQTT add-on won't start anymore.
I have the same because MQTT is not starting
@rotund steeple are you using the latest version of the MQTT add-on?
Hm, you mention the latest version above, that would be 6.2.0 though
It does sound very much like this issue: https://github.com/home-assistant/addons/issues/2904 But that should be resolved with the latest MQTT add-on release 🤔
anyone know how I can access an api hosted in an addon through ingress? I'm getting a 401, can I create a token that gets passed in a header or something?
I see this: Zigbee2MQTT
Current version: 1.30.3-1
Not sure about Zigbee2MQTT. What is it's log saying?
Nothing much:

For me the Zigbee2MQTT add-on won't start anymore.
From the log it seems it started.. Why do you mean it "won't start anymore"?
What I see is that I have the start button but the add-on shows a red dot!
Normally it says stop or restart when it is started.
Have you restored a backup recently
No, I finally did but only updates to higher versions
When it went wrong I tried to restore a backup.
That didn't change the problem.
Operating System was still 10
So... you did recently restore a backup?
Yes, after the problem started
After you do that, you need to fully restart the host (not just a normal HA restart) for the addons to fully come up
when trying to send a notification through HA to hass agent, on my laptop i get the following error, while on the desktop it works like a charm.
Stopped because an error was encountered at 18. April 2023 um 18:52:18 (runtime: 0.03 seconds)
'NoneType' object has no attribute 'options'
any idea why that happens? i cant see any error, they are both freshly added to HA again
The frontend has a bug where it doesn't update the add-on state. Use Ctrl+F5/Ctrl+R to force refresh
This is not the problem. I did that allready.
Now when I pushed START again all the devices are not found.
All I see in the logfile:
info 2023-04-18 18:59:14: Logging to console and directory: '/config/zigbee2mqtt/log/2023-04-18.18-59-14' filename: log.txt

And this in the logbook ( add-on ):

So you didn't give it a message?
i did
however i have an idea what could be the case... let me duplicate the automation
i suspect a bug in HA there. ha flushes the message field, when you change the "notify recipient"
maybe when doing so and replacing it, the message (even if refilled with a new value) doesnt properly get stored
just an assumption tho
nope, still failing

A complete restart (of HA) has been succesfull.

I had the terminal add on installed and had not used it in a while but last time i did use it worked. Now its working but the screen has all the text in scrambled like it has a bad signal on TV 🙂 - I uninstalled it and reinstalled and get same thing. Running on HASSOS on PI.
Fix: Use Chrome
./giphy how-dare-you-greta
was your issue above while using firefox?
you're talking about chrome now?
why wouldnt you use firefox
chromium is a fuckin plague on the web lol
im saying i was forced to use chrome to get the terminal app to work.
I only use firefox or variants of firefox but this add-on breaks with firefox.
yea didnt quite read like that i just assumed that is what you were saying
are you sure it isnt caching related?
https://github.com/thomasloven/hass-config/wiki/Clearing-your-browser-cache he has a writeup here going down that rabbit hole
i don't think so i had never connected to HA on this box as I am now isolating my configuration environment from my primary network.
i see
So its new setup.
don't have time to troubleshoot as I have to get a few other things working before i leave that I want HA taking care of while I am away.
i dont think of home assistant as "set it and forget it"
Yeah if you want that you would have to go with something from Google or Amazon right?
i'm not sure if i agree with that either
it's not that home assistant breaks, it's that i go out of my way to tie MORE of my life into home assistant
like waking up in the middle of the night to piss cuz apparently i'm old now and then figuring out how to automate based on my presence walking in my room in certain areas to turn leds on under my bed
etc etc
Ahhh I see.
how do I get flux script to downsample data?
hey im having an issue with the mosquitto mqtt add-on
23-04-18 23:06:57 warn: MQTT: reconnecting
23-04-18 23:06:57 error: MQTT: connect ECONNREFUSED 127.0.0.1:1883
23-04-18 23:07:08 warn: MQTT: reconnecting
23-04-18 23:07:08 error: MQTT: connect ECONNREFUSED 127.0.0.1:1883
is what i keep getting when i try to connect with Double Take
Hi I am having an issue with Adguard atm where I have a block list with this rule in: ||youtube.com^$ctag=~user_regular
I have set up my devices and it is tagged with the user_regular tag
although, if I go to youtube, I get the 'No internet' error and I have to retry
In the network tab I am getting the following error: NS_ERROR_UNKNOWN_HOST
I had the same when I forgot to create a user dedicated to MQTT on home assistant. Have you done this stage?
Is anyone having issues with MotionEye after the recent HA updates?
I have one but I feel like it's not working or something. I might have to put one in mosquito's config and see
Yes, seems to fail since last OS update
Yeah, mine was pegging a cpu core but was working, but after a reboot it's just not working at all now
I haven't tried a restore yet, that usually fixes things. Not sure about OS updates though
Ah, the 0.19 update for the add-on fixes the problem
has it been released yet?
Ahh yes it has
well it fixed the problem, but now the config UI seems a little broken
Is anyone able to help with frigate ?
can an addon install another addon?
Hello together. Maybe someone is able to help: Does anybody know if there is support for HB-RF-USB-2 on Home-Assistant Yellow with the RaspberryMatic Add-On? According to the logs the device is not found in my setup :/
According to the RaspberryMatic documentation it should be supported. I am trying to find out why it is not working on my machine
I have a problem with an SSL certificate.
but i can't find a solution.
can someone help me?
You'd have to convey the problem first
I get the error in the home assistant app and in the web browser: deceptive site ahead
Ah DuckDNS? You have to report it as misclassified to Google I believe and then wait a few days
Ok Thanks i go try it
How does Home Assistant do time while in config, either yaml, or the UI configs? Such as if theirs an input where you put a number (and there is no hints or explanations on what to put in the input/field), would I default to seconds or... what?
I ask this, because I'm trying to configure an addon: Network UPS Tool, and in the field in the configurations on the UI: "upsmon_deadtime", you put a number, but idk if I should put "25" (for minutes), or would it be "1500" seconds (which equals 25 minutes)? I'm trying to do 25 minutes.
It's not related to HA at all, refer to the NUT documentation at https://networkupstools.org/docs/man/upsmon.conf.html as a side note not sure why you would want to set that to 25 minutes, if the UPS doesn't respond to a poll in that time, there is a bigger issue
Woops, I thought the time was minutes for NUT stuff. Didn't realize it was seconds.
When I was reading online... not from the offical docs.
But I got it squared away now thanks to someone in the #general-archived channel.
Allows setting the DEADTIME value in upsmon.conf to adjust the stale time for
https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-nut/blob/main/nut/DOCS.md#option-upsmon_deadtime
So let's check the docs forupsmon.conf
https://networkupstools.org/docs/man/upsmon.conf.html#:~:text=CONFIGURATION DIRECTIVES-,DEADTIME,-seconds
DEADTIME seconds
Ahh. Guess I was too slow 🐌
Glad you got it fixed, the issue with NUT is that trying to deal with config items in text files from an addon point of view is difficult. It should work fine with Cyberpower devices.
Aside from the oops of me thinking 25 minutes. A question still lingers: What kind of time-format does Home Assistant use like if you're doing some kind of 'time' edit in a config. like 10 minutes. Would you do it in seconds?
Plus, for addons and integrations, would they follow whatever time-format HA uses? Or can an author change the format with the coding that HA uses for addons and integrations? Hope that makes some sense.
There is no concept of time-format in this case, we take inputs and manipulate text files
Oh I see
There is also no link between HA itself and the addon running, it's a seperate container
Ah, ok
is this the right place to talk about esphome? i've got some gosund plugs that i flashed with esp32, but on a couple i didn't set captive_portal, and the wifi changed.... they have access points and i can connect to them, but there's no web interface, 192.168.4.1 doesn't work....
Esphome discord is where I’d ask
ESPHome is a system to control your ESP8266/ESP32, with a native integration for Home Assistant.
You can find their documentation here, and get help with ESPHome itself here in the #diy-archived channel (#integrations-archived for the Home Assistant side integration with it). They also have their own Discord server too.
thanks dude, good bot!
Trying to get the LetsEncrypt add-on working with Google DNS. The logs keep indicating a failure due to a lack of a TXT record for verification purposes. Where am I able to see what the expected value is?
Probably a stupid question but where is the mosquitto.conf file supposed to be placed when using the Mosquitto AddOn? I made a new folder in config called "mosquitto" but it doesn't seem to load or even see it, trying to add an external Cloud broker as a bridge.
It's already set to active and the folder option says "mosquitto"
I haven't changed anything there tho, it was always set to active for some reason and the default folder option was also that
Ok. I don't use the addon, but I was able to bridge to cloudMQTT a long time ago
Yeah I'm trying to use HiveMQ cause I only need a few external sensors and relays to be controlled. First thought about using a constant VPN connection but that's a bit overkill for that use case.
Seems like it literally is in /share/mosquitto/mosquitto.conf which is... odd...
And despite the log saying that it's loading the file it doesn't seem like anything is coming through when I send test-payloads.
Actually... it does seem to connect, at least the HiveMQ Dashboard tells me a client connection has been established. But I can't seem to get any topics to go through.
How does your bridge work? So far it seems I got the connection running but when I send payloads they just don't see each other somehow...
I even added topic # both 0 and it won't work, so something definitely isn't working quite right yet. I should just be able to see each other's messages being sent on either side, or am I understanding something wrong about how MQTT supposedly works?
It was a long time ago and I'm not using it anymore
... just saw in logs that apparently the cloud connection runs into a timeout
Ah yes I freaking love crucial info being buried in user forums, cause apparently HiveMQ does NOT support try_private true

Is there a way to downgrade a hassio addon? newest esphome isn't compatible with one of my critical external components. I don't have a backup 😦
is there an nginx add on that allows me to add subdomains other than the one by frenck (says it requires mariodb, dont have)
Hi, What are you using to monitor home assistant componement ? Like Add-on crash or integration crash some stuff like that ?
There's a built in watchdog you can enable to restart crashed addons
Can we set it to send alert ?
Hi, I am trying to start the nginx addon but it says port 443 is in use. when i check the ports with netstat i cant find any application using the port.
Do you have a SSL cert setup in HA?
Not sure.... I don't see docs on events fired by the supervisor
was that question direction to me? Yes i have a lets encrypt cert for my own domainname. not using duckdns
i see. is there a tutorial on how to change the https access from HA to nginx?
Hmm, sure you, you could search and I'm sure there may be some things you can piece together. To take off SSL from HA though, it's removing the cert file paths from your http: integration in configuration.yaml and restarting HA
That'll get you back to port 80
then nginx should be able to start
then just follow any other tutorial for setting up the proxy
thats the thing i did delete the http entry with the certificates in the configuration.yaml
still it doesnt start
Did you restart HA?
yes
annnd... if you go to http://ha.ip.goes.here:8123/
does that work?
actually... if you hadn't modified the port on the http integration... it wouldn't have been on 443, I guess I assumed but that's not a good assumption
If you did modify the port to 443 there though, then it'd just be running HTTP over 443, which obviously still would cause what you're seeing
i have to check its pretty confusing https is not working
If you can console into the host try a netstat -plnt | grep 443
You can do it from an add-on too, but it won't likely give you details of the actual process
Could also try docker ps on the SSH community add-on w/ protection mode disabled and see if it shows up there
hi, Im trying to get audio to work on my camera streams but I am having some issues with the setup
I followed this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YUYuw4Y-TY
I tried setting the host URL to http://localhost:1984 but when I do this the cameras which I have setup before using the "Generic Camera" intergration all stop working. And when I try to add a new "Generic Camera" following the method in the video, it will give "Timeaout while loading URL"
Anyone use Proxmox + Frigate + Coral USB, or have thoughts on the Frigate Addon now that there is support for network drives?
I built my own mmwave sensor and PIR sensor using one xaio ESP32-C3 chip. The mmwave sensor worked flawlessly until I programmed in the PIR sensor. Now the PIR sensor is the only thing working. I am assuming I have the programming of the PIR in the wrong place. Would this be a good place to share my code via pastebin?
Hi, anyone have experience with bluetooth proxies? I am having some issues with the proxies showing up in home assistant integrations but not in ESPHome.
anyone use nginx proxy manager with an access list / basic auth?
Anyone use Frigate w/Coral, either in docker with integration addon, directly as HA addon, etc? I'm trying to follow guides but even as a technical person they are all like a foreign language that make no sense. Even the HA addon just starts up bare and tells you to do things, assuming you know how but not providing any info on it.
@tribal condor I converted your message into a file since it's above 15 lines :+1:
I am using nginx as proxy for SSL
I made my own addon using a docker container, which works and runs fine via a web gui.
I've noticed that every now and then the settings all get reset I think it's with every os update or something. Any clues as to what may be causing it?
Thanks y'all!
Ask the folks in #devs_add-ons-archived and maybe share a link to its source
Hello,
I am new here and I am running a HA with a Rasb.
Now I have a Hoymiles inverter connected via MQTT via an Ahoy-DTU, since today I have a second Hoymiles connected and it is displayed by the Ahoy-DTU.
How do I do that now best that the second inverter is displayed via MQTT in HA?
Do I have to delete the integration MQTT again and set up again so that the 2te is recognized or is that easier?
You shouldn't need to delete anything. Once your second device publishes via a separate MQTT topic, HA should pick it up
when I want to add a 2nd MQTT, the message "Already configured. Only one configuration possible"
Yeah, you only need the 1 integration
It'll discover your entities from your MQTT broker
Thanks for the help, found the error.
I had to resend the discovery config in the MQTT config part of the Ahoy DTU, then the 2nd inverter was visible in the HA.
hello guys, I've been trying to get rhasspy (addon (not the junior version)) to work. But i am not able to connect a usb mic to the setup. I got two usb mic devices one microphone and one usb sooundcard (both super cheap) to experiment and they are both not collaborationg. I'm running HA OS on a RPI4. On the Hardware page both my mics seem to be recognised but Rhasspy doen't seem to load them. I googled this and most posts don't really solve it there are just workarounds by connecting the mics remotely and such. Does anyone have any input?
Is it possible to access samba server/share external?
Nvm, that would be insecure i guess. Think i might use ftp then
FTP alone is also unencrypted
I thought samba is without password for a sec but it is with pass.
Yeah, well its just to upload photos from my phone to the ssd from Home Assistant
Over the internet?
Yeah
At least use SFTP if you'll be exposing it over the internet
SSL you mean?
Well... SFTP is FTP over an SSH tunnel
I wouldn't say I know the best way to set it up, I'd just advise against exposing an FTP server to the internet. The SSH add-on does have the ability to turn on SFTP at least: https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-ssh/blob/main/ssh/DOCS.md
There's also things like NextCloud and whatnot that's more of a Google Drive that's self hosted
Thanks 🙂
Another (and my preferred) choice would be to use something like tailscale and don't expose HA to everyone. In that case it doesn't matter that much what you use
Yeah, if it's reasonable to set up a VPN, that'll be yet even more secure
On ESPresence, in the UI settings, what is "Absorption"? And how would I use it?
anyone use the ewelink add-on??? I am having problems installing it.
My zwave js quit working, and now my addon store is blank
Only has esphome stuff in it
and my installed addons no longer have images
my hass box has internet and a valid ip
I have a problem with Mosquitto Broker. I'm using Zigbee2MQTT and it can't connect to server: mqtt://core-mosquitto.
This is log error:

Make sure you set the correct user/password
Is there any way to get an add-on to listen to a specified IP/interface, and not just "0.0.0.0"?
The problem I'm seeing is that I want dnsmasq to listen on port 53 on a specific IP/interface. systemd-resolvd is already listening to 127.0.0.1:53, thus having dnsmasq listen on 0.0.0.0:53 is not working in this case.
In Mosquitto or Zigbee2mqtt??
This is error in Mosquitto:
error: received null username or password for unpwd check```
Both should match
Both should match
anyone know why the go2rtc web-ui is broken for me? it only works on my phone with the homeassistant app but all browsers on my pc show unresponsive buttons
I'm trying to get a receive message sensor for the Signal Addon but get REST result could not be parsed as JSON when trying to make it work. Using the same config as the docs but with my registered phone number (what HA uses to send via Signal to my phone).
And with the IP to what the addon is listening on (changed to 4774)
I wonder if I should but something here to get the whole post? value_template: "" #this will fetch the message
Ah, might be that I'm using it in json-rpc?
the rest API docs are not correct and do not necessarily return "good" JSON, so that might be the disconnect
Ah okay. I it does seem though that the json-rpc option makes it use websocket instead. But I'm not really sure what that means to be honest
"websocket" is a bi-directional HTTP protocol that effectively allows "push" from the server to the client: instead of the client polling the server for status changes, the client is effectively running a tiny web server that HA pushes updates to
Thank you for taking the time to clarifying this. Is there any way I can fetch a message used with websocket as I can with the REST?
Hmm so I need to subscribe to them somehow. Not as easy as setting up a sensor I quess
it does require programming, yes
I changed the DB from my HA to MariaDB, how do I connect to this database externally?
I have a sonoff/ ewelink temp sensor that only displays as Celsius(in the add-on I can select C or F in the GUI config but I guess that setting is not applied outside the add-on. How to I get the sensor to show as Fahrenheit. Im guessing I have to write a yaml file but im just not sure how to go about doing this. I cant adjust the setting from C to F because the the entity doesn't have a unique ID. I have screen shots but I guess I cant share them here.
I'm having trouble updating ESPHome add-on from v2023.3.2 to any newer version. Whenever I click install from Home Assistant it spins for a second then display an error briefly.
When I look at the logs there's a couple different errors:
`23-04-24 14:44:31 INFO (SyncWorker_5) [supervisor.docker.interface] Downloading docker image ghcr.io/esphome/esphome-hassio with tag 2023.4.1.

Any thoughts on what I can do to troubleshoot or resolve this?
Is HA trying to pull the wrong version of ESPHome? If found this in the logs:

It says:

I'm running a Raspberry Pi 2B, which is ARMv7, not ARMv6:
Hi friends when I run the add-on I made run.Sh says I can't find it, so do you have any friends to help me with the problem?
https://github.com/harwin1/ha-addons/tree/main/easyroll_blind
turn on bash-x to see the commands. try adding debug to the script, like which python ls -l
Your run.sh has windows line endings. This is probably better suited for #devs_add-ons-archived
Would this be a good channel to talk about lambda calculations in ESPHome?
Oh I didn't realise it had a dedicated server, ty
Is there a way to manually update add-ons?
They'll appear in settings when there's an update available
There's a toggle in each add-ons page for whether or not it should auto update
Yeah, I was having issues with updates failing. I posted earlier. I ended up completely uninstalled and reinstalling. That seems to have done the trick.
Hi all, sorry for barging in, is there a way to get basic sensor data from an hass.io add-on into HA without using MQTT, so via internal call/api instead?
Argg maybe devs_add-ons is better for this
Hello guys,
I'm trying to setup a wilcard domain via nginx proxy manager. When I select DNS challenge and choose Cpanel, I enter my cpanel url user and pass, but it always fail with the log 403 forbidden. I'm sure I'm using the correct credentials. Can someone help on this?
do you guys now a way i can test modbus configuration " structure" easier then restart home assistant?
How do I restore a backup I made using the Samba Backup addon?
I configured MariaDB as the new recorder. The history shows the value correctly. But how are the values are stored in the mariadb and how can I query them to get a matching entities, time/date and value?
It’s for grafana
Enable query logging to see how the history integration does its queries and do the same
Thanks. Is there a list which options are possible to enable for logging?
Hmm I updated home assistant to version 10 and now my nginx reverse proxy doesn't work
i cant get my adguard to block ads
my phone says it has no internet when i point my dns to it
And now NPM is working. what the hell
can someone help my adguard doesent seem to be working i have tried my phone and my laptop and the queries is always on 0 and i get no internet when i have the dns pointed towards it i have a static ip and im using homeassistant os with adguard plugin with a dell thin client
What are these keys for on the Z-Wave JS configuration page? (Network key, S0 Legacy Key, etc)
#zwave-archived can help
Okay
i just setup the letsencrypt add on... it stops after it gets its cert... will it auto renew? how does it do it if it is stopped?
Hi folks, can anyone assist me or have a guide with: Home-Assistant, MariaDB, Grafana. I have already a MariaDB up and running and would like to store the recorder data in the MariaDB. From my point of view it works already, bc in History I see all value changes.
Once I'm in Grafana, Im struggle to access the history values. Where are they located? Where are the entities and the corresponding time Date with value?
hi all
i have a question about addons, i'm trying to get my google assistant to work with my NAD C338 ampiflifer
it works in google home, but doesnt show in assistant devices
there is this github, https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/15328 but i have no idea how to install this
any guides available? thanks!
If you use something like influx or Prometheus it will be much easier than the complete DB. Because its a timeseries DB.
I try to keep my environment small as possible with less software as needed, but I currently view a YT video with InfluxDB, HA, Grafana and reproduce this. If this works smooth, I have to admit that I go for HA and Grafana with Influx even that means I have to administrate to DB
If you only want to use Maria Db you will need to take alook around where the historical data will be stored.
Yes, and I am not able to find them, unfortunatly.
Would here the best place to ask about Homematic HACS integration behavior?
No. It's not an addon. Check the link above for how/where the data is stored
How can I check the full log of an Add On? Currently trying to debug an external MQTT broker issue with Mosquitto where it doesn't connect, but the Log on the Add On page cuts off after a few lines.
How do I set up the NGINX addon to be able to access my own subdomain via port forwarding? So far I am using duckdns and NGINX (Port Forwarding https). The subdomain is set up using cPanel. If any further information is required, I am happy to provide it. Many thanks for the help.
Has anyone successfully got Promtail and Loki working on hassio using https://github.com/mdegat01/addon-promtail and https://github.com/mdegat01/addon-loki ? I've got everything installed and it looks like its all running, but no logs are actually getting stored in Loki.
I've verified with curl queries that Loki is running and accessible from the Promtail container, it just seems like Promtail isn't sending anything.
Hi guys! Does anyone using this bookstack community addon?
https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-bookstack
After few days after I have created duckdns domain and setup nginx with bookstack I have got blocked by the google because of possible phishing web site.
Has anyone encountered this?
I don't think that's due to your Bookstack add-on. That seems to be a fact of life w/ Duck DNS. You have to report it back to Google and hope in a few days they'll un-blacklist you
Hello guys,
I'm trying to setup a wilcard domain via nginx proxy manager. When I select DNS challenge and choose Cpanel, I enter my cpanel url user and pass, but it always fail with the log 403 forbidden. I'm sure I'm using the correct credentials. Can someone help on this?
What does cPanel have to do with your Nginx and HA setup?
DNS challenge. I've set my domain via cpanel on my registrar
Do you have special characters in your password? Since that plugin doesn't seem to be updated to support tokens, I wouldn't be surprised if there's encoding issues
hmmmm good idea!
You were indeed correct!! it was a special character in the password!
Those'll get ya, would be nice if that plugin were updated to let you use an API token instead of the password
but now I must keep the password without special characters right? otherwise the renewal will fail as well..
That's correct, it'll need to do that each time
would it work if I encapsulate the password in ' '?
🤷♂️ Can try, but kind of doubt it. You can try other special characters instead if you must have them.... ones like & ? : @ < > may cause issues, others I'm sure may as well
it was a # heheh
If your password is 14 characters or above and has numbers, upper and lower case chars, you're pretty safe
Yep working, they unblock me after the report, looks like because of duck dns yeah, thanks man!
So I got the ssh & Web terminal add used that to ssh to my hassio and install a few packages with apk add, and edited the conf file of one of them with vim
I can see on the add ons configuration page a place to add packages which I assume where I'll type all the ones installed using ssh terminal but will the conf files be preserved?
As tinkered said
ensure you store anything you want kept in one of the volumes
Can I get some newbie friendly context on what a volume is and how do I keep it there
Addons are docker containers. Certain directories on the host are mounted inside the container. Data stored there is persisted. Which directories those are depend on the addon. Just research docker mounts/volumes and check the addon's config.yaml or use docker inspect to see what it mounts
Hi guys, I have some problems with my mqtt integration in Home Assistant OS 10.1 and need your help. I'm using the EMQX add-on and already successfully connected one of my Tasmota electricity switches to it (appears under the "Connections" section). But after adding MQTT as an integration in Home Assistant no services or entities showed up. So I continued and tried to connect my TeslaLogger. Without any further actions in EMQX the Tesla showed up under "Retained Messages" but not under the "Connections" section. Nevertheless I continued by adding Tesla sensor configurations to the configuration.yaml and this seems to be working as data from the vehicle started showing up in HA. Now I am confused why the TeslaLogger data stream works but my Tasmota switches are not identified in HA... Kann anyone help?
I'm having some issues with the VSCode addon and my external nginx proxy. I'm assuming it has to do with the X-Forwarded-Host header option mentioned here: https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-vscode/issues/584
I'm using linuxserver's swag docker image for my nginx proxying needs. when I add the directive to my proxy conf for HASS, i lose access to all of HASS with error 400, so something isn't right
has anyone else gotten swag to work in front of hass and vscode?
i'm not sure what exactly fixed it, but i both updated the trusted_proxies section in configuration.yaml in HASS to include 172.16.0.0/12, and I updated my proxy-conf to the latest version available from the swag team. i had accumulated a lot of cruft in mine, so there were likely conflicting or incompatible directives when i tried to add x-forwarded-host
and now i'm all set! i hope that mini writeup helps other searchers
I run Home assistant as a docker container and i manually installed esphome it works fine with esp8266 but when i try to install an esp32 it errors out.
when i tried googling about it they ask us to reinstall add ons and since i use the docker version i dont have add ons but i tried manually reinstalling the esphome docker container and it still doesnt work.
Any advice?
it errors out
What errors do you get? ESPHome has their own discord. Might make sense to ask there since this isn't an addon issue and not really related to HA either
okay will try that
Anyone know if I'm able to change the port that the Studio Code Server addon uses?
I get
[2023-04-29T15:51:34.996Z] info HTTP server listening on http://0.0.0.0:1337/
But I'm using port 1337, I assume this is what it uses.
What issue are you running into
Moved HAss onto my server, server is using 1337, Studio Code Server no longer loads.
Cancel that, decided to work now.
🙄
Hop, skip, and jumping to conclusions, thanks anyway bud.
I just got adguard on my HA and trying to set it up but I'm confused on what does "Adguard Home server" address mean? Does that mean the IP of what the HA is on?
You can add any other Adguard server as well. just type localhost or 127.0.0.1 or ::1 and you'll be fine
Hello Team, last 3 months I'm using home assistance it great application to manage home devices, recently installed the Mosquitto broker MQTT Add-on for the HASS Agent.
I went through the HASS Agent and configured everything but I cannot establish the MQTT connection in the local network, Does anyone have any idea to fix this issue!
TIA
Hi. I successfully have InfluxDB set up as I want to keep my solar data for longer than the default 10 day retention in HA. Nevertheless I would like to import the existing recorder data (I am on HASS-OS VM so no custom install). Two questions: where can I even run the hass-command? (does not seem to exist in ssh session) and also the script to import recorder data to influxdb does not seem to exist anymore
how to do this? This cannot be such an uncommon use-case?
Hope someone can help.
I have duckdns that renews the certificate. But in order for it to work it needs a reboot. Someone knows if i can automate that so if the certificste refreshes it reboots
You should not need to do that. The duckdns addon will check for renewal at intervals or whenever the addon is restarted.
Yeah it auto renews them fine
But home assistant requirers a restart
Because then the new certificate will load
I don't recall having to do this when I used it. But you can definitely automate a restart of HA
Yeah but i want to do it automaticly when duckdns renewz the certificate
So i have the certificate expiration integration now. So now it says 24th of june. But duckdns renews the certificate if there are not more than 30 days left(renews for 90 days) so i cant seem to figure out when to reboot
Also cant find the code for duckdns so i can implement it there
I try samba and ftp and i did not get access to my HA
how can I transfer files do HA ?
I started the service at my windws
did you add your mqtt broker to hass.agent -> configuration -> mqtt
morning. I'm trying to set up an mqtt monitor in the uptime kuma addon to monitor my nuki door lock. Frankly, I'm stumped as to what parameters I need to use. Anyone got an experience with that?
Which parameters?
Other than host, port, username, and password the only thing you need is the topic, and $SYS/broker/uptime is one of many things you can use there
yeah, starting with host, which one is meant? The broker, or the device I'm trying to monitor?
Well, the MQTT monitor is for monitoring the broker, not some other device
oh!
that explains a lot
I thought I could use it to check if my nuki lock was online
which is connected to HA by mqtt
Check to see if it regularly publishes anything to MQTT
If it does you could use that being unchanged to trigger an automation
Does it go offline often?
not so far
but I like having all my toys accounted for in uptime kuma, and was hoping to add the nuki
nothing important though
it isn't pingable and it doesn't have a web interface that I could use to check http(s)
Check the connected topic
Indicates if the device is currently connected to the MQTT server or not. Uses “false” as the last will message, which will be set by the mqtt server automatically if the device disconnects.
Looks like a sensor should be created for you already
When Home Assistant Discovery is activated the Nuki device publishes on each MQTT connect messages into the relevant topics with the prefix “homeassistant” which is hardcoded and can not be changed.
So I could monitor the broker for that topic?
Sorry, I really have no clue about mqtt, this is the first device that's using it, and it worked out of the box.
You could monitor that topic, but check first for an entity in HA (likely binary_sensor)
There first, in the hope that it creates a device with linked entities
There is a device, but the only sensor entities are battery related.
plus a couple of button entities to lock/unlock/etc
battery seems to be updating every 5 mins
Then you'll want to create an MQTT binary sensor for that topic, and #integrations-archived could help there
I checked the debug info for the device, and there is apparently already topic called '"topic": "nuki/363AADEC/connected"
Right, but for simplicity you want a sensor... or you can just use an MQTT trigger in your #automations-archived
Not sure where you're going with the sensor?
Well, if you have a binary sensor you can just use that in a state trigger, use it in a condition, display the state in a dashboard...
right, but how would I get that to uptime kuma?
I see, sorry, that wasn't my goal. I was just looking for a way to have it checked in kuma. It already works perfectly well with some automations, an I get a notification on my phone from the Nuki app if it goes offline.
Just wanted that extra green line in kuma
but as I said, not important
So... probably you could use that connected topic and the success payload of true (or whatever it is)
if I wanted to use the online/offline state for something in HA, I'd probably just check if the battery sensor is giving me a numeric value, or unknown
the connected topic doesn't see to be doing much very frequently. Last message in the debug info is from about three hours ago.
Is it possible to edit other (external) files with Studio Code Server addon. I’m running HA OS on a VM in Proxmox and would like to edit my Frigate config.yaml, but Frigate is running in another LXC, not as a HA addon
can somone please help Z2M is not starting

I'd check the settings for the MQTT broker
undefined usually points to that being wrong/broken/missing
@magic tapir I converted your message into a file since it's above 15 lines :+1:
The settings in Zigbee2MQTT
#zigbee-archived is a better channel to troubleshoot this in FYI
@jade wing seems to be working. I'll have to wait for a change to be sure. But thanks for your help.

mqtt settings

Yeah... so ... you didn't set anything up
That's your problem
You need to define the server, and the authentication details
the video tolt me to let it as it is
The video was wrong... which is no shock
server: 'mqtt://core-mosquitto:1883'
user: some_user
pass: some_pass
where do i need to put this?
The addon's readme actually says the same: https://github.com/zigbee2mqtt/hassio-zigbee2mqtt#installation
leave empty when using the Mosquitto broker addon
I wonder if there's things that cause it to fail then, since I've regularly seen this problem
Pretty much every undefined turns out to be somebody who hasn't defined the broker and is using add-ons
stil not workin after this
Can you enable herdsman debugging as well?
Did you put in valid details?
yes
And if so, what's the new error?

If you install an MQTT client on your desktop/laptop - eg MQTT Explorer can it connect to your broker with the username and password you set?
Obviously you have to use the IP of the HA host, not core-mosquitto
this is fine right?
mqtt://localhost:1883
No
localhost is "this computer" and is special (and when you're using add-ons isn't always going to work)
Z2M needs mqtt://core-mosquitto:1883 and anything other than add-ons needs the IP of the computer running HA instead of core-mosquitto
so the HA ip instad of localhost
Yes
same error
If you install an MQTT client on your desktop/laptop - eg MQTT Explorer can it connect to your broker with the username and password you set?
Have you done that test yet?
yes but it ceeps disconecting
im in
more peaple have this problem
https://github.com/zigbee2mqtt/hassio-zigbee2mqtt/issues/480
Then that means your problem is your broker/the details you've given Z2M, not Z2M
What's the question?
after download the files from https://github.com/AlexxIT/SonoffLAN
Ah... that's an integration and a topic for the #integrations-archived channel
and made the adjusts at /config/configuration.yaml and /config/secrets.yaml
okay thanks

HI All,
Trying to install barcode buddy add-on, even after adding to custom repositories, it doesn't show anything to install
After rebooting the HA , i can see the add-on and installed but it won't start. I can see error s6-overlay-suexec: fatal: can only run as pid 1
anyone faced similar issue?
Hey Guys,
I Try to install HA for my first time.
And my problem is, I can’t see any Add ons in de Tab…
Installation is fine advanced option is on but I can’t see any Add on.
Did anyone now were is my mistake?
How did you install HA?
Only one of the three methods provide add-ons - HAOS
If you used Docker or pip then you don't get add-ons
On a Unraid VM qcow/vid/vdmk an my last try on this das was on a Raspberry pi
If you used the HAOS VM image then you should have add-ons
If you're following old videos though things have moved
And by old, anything older than a few months may be totally wrong 😉
Open your Home Assistant instance and show the Supervisor add-on store
Try that link
I download the Linux imgs from the web Homeassistant.io website
With the link I can see a blank screen with the Add-ons Store Title at the top.
Ok, that's a good sign, it means you do have HAOS
Check 👌🏻 but why I can’t see any Add on… do I need a Special DNS Server or a Special Network Setting to solve this problem?
No, but somebody who knows how to troubleshoot this will be able to help you
I hope so 😅 thanks for the quick request
The logs might be worth a look
ok how can i show you the log?? i am new on Discord 😅
Please use a code share site to share code or logs, for example:
- https://dpaste.org/ (select YAML for the language, and consider picking a longer expiry)
- http://pastie.org/ (select YAML for the language)
- https://paste.debian.net/ (you guessed it, select YAML as the language)
Please don't use Pastebin, since it can randomly add spaces to the main view. Please also don't share text as images since it makes it harder for people to help you. Remember that others may have colour blindness, impaired vision, etc.
I am trying to build a reverse proxy. I have HASSIO on a Unraid VM. I have not had assess to my HA's IP. I have to us the HA.local to get access tothe Web UI. My Spectrum Router does not see the HA and I need a port to forward. Following videos on the many different addons has been very confusion. If anyone has some ideas. DMs are open.
What are you stuck with?
Port fording. HA does not pop up on my router. I cant just make a port forward. Thou after watching a video for DuckDNS It had me put
"http:
ssl_certificate: /ssl/fullchain.pem
ssl_key: /ssl/privkey.pem"
In the configuration.yaml
I have access to HA through VM Consol VNC, but I cannot bring HA back up through the HA.local rout. But I am also unable to make a port. I have to reserve an IP, but HA is not on the list and my UnRaid server has no IP to reserve an IP.
I am restarting that, but this has been a lot to try to follow.
You'll have to use https:// to access HA after you added those lines, assuming you have certificates
Thanks. I was about to be scared. Well. This will be at a rest till I can figure out why none of this is on my router, Thanks
I undid that line. Though my HA has yet to be accessible via IP unless I can not log into HA through IP
Hi! How can I have 2 domains sync at once.
domain: "XXX"
username: "XXX"
password: "XXX"
timeout: "60"
no_ip:
domain: "XXX"
username: "XXX"
password: "XXX"
timeout: "60"```
Any help here please?
yes, I'm already done with that! how do I find the problem I checked the system log its shows simply add-on stop worked, and no other log file was found!
if you go to hass agent, does it say MQTT: running
no it's not running, try to connect but results error in connection - Please refer to the screenshot - https://1drv.ms/i/s!AhrmgJXq6vZslJxIPYVgWNo1fJuS_g
and you set it up in configuration?
configuration.yaml file?? or integration - Please refer to the screenshot - https://1drv.ms/i/s!AhrmgJXq6vZslJxSrUIbzccH1nv1bA?e=SbCzH1
neither
the hass agent windows app has a configuration, you need to set your mqtt info there otherwise it wont know how to communicate with mqtt
I'm already done that part too, but still, its seems the same response - > https://1drv.ms/i/s!AhrmgJXq6vZslJxUy7JrJr3MxNJM8w?e=upWrKI
It asks for a ip or hostname, not a URL
connected but it seems not running properly (Please refer -> https://1drv.ms/i/s!AhrmgJXq6vZslJxW6WrSb-4FA_NGSw?e=gG3Swl) restart and reboot not take effect, what should I do, and hostname means - xxxxxxxxxx.nuba.case ???
Could be but a local ip or hostname might be better
your port is wrong
your port in ha is the default, 1883
you changed in in hass agent
it should also be 1883
mismatched ports is like 2 cars going down parallel streets expecting to meet each other in themiddle
Thank You! it's working but get some unexpected output I'll share it as video link ASAP
Someone knows ?
Can you add a CNAME to one of them instead? That's an #integrations-archived but doesn't appear that you can have > 1 instance and it doesn't seem to support multiple in config
Hi, is there anyone using sun-card addon? I have a question. I'd like to have white font on this card. The visual editor display it white but when I save it its always black.
type: custom:sun-card ... this is the card code
The card isn't an add-on
Cards aren't add-ons, ever
The #frontend-archived channel can help with cards
My bad sorry
Can someone help me with password for VLC for telnet ?

Hi everyone - I am trying to use the Promtail add-on on Hassio (https://community.home-assistant.io/t/home-assistant-add-on-promtail/293732) but it doesn't work and I can't figure out how to start debugging it. When I go into the container I can't even get started because the user doesn't have permissions to run apt-get and I can't use sudo or su. Is this something to do with AppArmor (https://github.com/mdegat01/addon-promtail/blob/main/promtail/apparmor.txt) and if so how can I turn it off to do some fiddling?
What do the logs say when put into debug mode? And why are you wanting to "do some fiddling", they're not meant to be played around w/ outside of the exposed config
anyone here willing and able to help me configure wireguard on my openwrt router?
the wireguard connects seems to work but I guess I'm stuck at routing packets correctly.
Not sure where's the relation with HA
HAOS with wireguard ADD-ON. So it's in the ADD-ONS sub-channel
And I got IOT devices from outside the network that need to connect to my HA
Hi, using the motioneye addon. I set up an imou cue-2c as a network camera using RSTP. I can see the stream but only receiving max 3-4 fps. I set up de video device to 20 FPS (match the original stream). When using the same RSTP on VLC I can see the 20 fps. Also the camera is added to HA using ONVIF and it looks great. Any advice?
Using the MariaDB add on, its been trying to upgrade from 2.5.2 to 2.6.0 for the last hour, should it be taking this long?
NM, its finally finished. Man, that took a while
I'm new to Home assistant and im trying to get frigate to run. I installed it (and did nothing else) and when i go to settings > add-ons > frigate > start, the CPU and RAM changes for 2 seconds and then freezes. If i click the "open web ui" button it says that Frigate is not running. I'm not sure what to do but i have an idea it could have something to do with the frigate configuration file, though im not sure how to fill it out/where to get the required information for it to start
Check the Log tab, it should give you an error

right now the RAM is at 1.5% and CPU is at 0% and they don't move at all. When i click "Open web UI" i see frigate at the top and loading icon spinning, but nothing else happens.

You've got /config/frigate.yml configured w/ your camera settings?
no. Not sure where to find the relevant information
What addon are you using
Take a look at the Documentation tab next to Log. You need to create /config/frigate.yml
