I am yeah, got the stick about 30-35cm from the computer, might try moving it further if things don't get better
What's kinda weird is that things were working fine up until a few days ago, apart from adaptive lighting sometimes turning lights back on after I turn them off
Installed a Centralite Pearl thermostat model 3157100. Was messing around to learn more about what I can do in Zigbee2mqtt and made an entry in "Filtered publish attributes". It worked as expected but I now cannot delete that entry. Clicking the - beside the entry does nothing that I can tell using either Firefox or Chrome as the browser. Can anyone tell me how to delete this entry?
Hi,
I'm currently trying to add an ikea remote to homeassistant.
When adding the device to Zigbee2MQTT, is shows up.
With node-red I can read the payload with mqtt.
But I dont see my device showing up in the MQTT broker.
I enabled:
- "Home Assistant legacy entity attributes" in Zigbee2MQTT.
- "Enable newly added entities" in the MQTT broker.
Heya, quick one from me. How would I go about diagnosing devices not updating in ZHA when they're changed form the device side, but fine when I change them from the HA side?
never updating or unreliably
one would indicate polling may be needed the other possible mesh issues
as in, it never updates at all other than when zha restarts
Which device?
It's an Ikea Starkvind Air Purifier
If it's not Tuya, have you tried reconfiguring it with the "Reconfigure Device" button?
I hadn't tried that... I'll give that a go now, thanks
That appears to have fixed it. Why was that the fix?
ZHA has to ask the device when it initially joins your network to send back reports when attributes change. If that for some reason failed, the device's state was only manually polled when ZHA started back up. The reconfigure button tries setting up reporting again.
Oh, that explains why some other devices have misbehaved in the past then too, thanks for that 😄
playing around with some Xiaomi plugs at the moment and ZHA quirks updates the instantaneous_voltage (0x0500) attribute here (from some special Xiaomi data): https://github.com/zigpy/zha-device-handlers/blob/4b65304438decc625ddc21bd968108258537d25f/zhaquirks/xiaomi/__init__.py#L550
Shouldn't this be rms_voltage for a smart plug?
for one, ZHA doesn't create a sensor for instantaneous_voltage and instantaneous voltage would mean that it's going up and down, right (AC)?
and I also didn't find a reference to InstantaneousVoltage being attribute id 0x0500 in ZCLv8 specs lol
I think you're right. We have to start migrating all of these opaque numerical constants to Metering.attributes["rms_voltage"].id.
mhm, there's also some rounding issue. Some Xiaomi plugs report their stuff on an Analog Input cluster. The quirk then updates the active_power attribute on the ElectricalMeasurement cluster. HA immediately shows a correctly rounded value. (2 W for 1.8 for example)
However, as soon as ZHA polls the device (I guess only from cache then?), the value is set to 1 W. (Reading the attribute manually, it shows 1. So somewhere the value is cut-off but attribute reports still work with proper rounding)
error may be in (or somewhere down from what) Cluster._update_attribute calls
Also, is it possible to match a quirk depending on an attribute on the Basic cluster? (app_version to be specific?) Xiaomi has done some bad stuff lol
Question: I am getting a ton of errors in my logs https://dpaste.org/bqXRY I have the sonos zigbee dongle, and i have zigbee2mqtt running to interface with ring,com. I disabled the sonos zigbee integration because it was failing all the time. Any thoughts on what to do or look at to resolve this would be helpful.
Anyone?
With node-red I can read the payload with mqtt.
and
But I dont see my device showing up in the MQTT broker.
are at odds with each other
If NR can see the payload then it's in the broker
So what do I have to do to fix it?
Well, it's not clear whether there's an actual problem
It shows up, and NR can use it, so it appears there's nothing wrong
Ok, that's completely different
That says that maybe you haven't configured the Home Assistant integration in Z2M
It's already configured
And HA's MQTT integration is configured with Discovery support?
Yes
something weird in your z2m config
I went through this with a guy a few months ago
post your config

kill the entirety of the mqtt section
I'm assuming you're using the addon
it will figure it out on its own

base_topic: zigbee2mqtt
AYO! I'm hoping to get a reccomendation. I'm trying to find a specific style of product and I'm getting nothing. I'd really like a Zigbee/Zwave/SomethingHA physical switch I can put around in various rooms to trigger a binary-switch in HA. Like a physical toggle. am I better of making something myself?
In Zigbee speak that's a remote
There's no shortage of battery powered ones of those
https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/WXKG15LM.html for instance
sounds like a good project with esphome too
Does anyone know a good (bonus if cheap) zigbee wall socket that works well with ZHA and aqara? I've tried securifi, weelink, centralite, and Jasco to no avail. The phillips bulbs work okay, but I try to avoid bulbs since most of my light switches are smart.
EU or US?
25% off at the moment and they have the 2652 chipset from what i've heard
Thanks!! I'll try those
Thanks for the reply, but no success 😦
what issue are you having?
are you using the addon or running it independently
I ask because your config has a lot of weird things in it compared to mine
https://i.imgur.com/H8yPcHO.mp4 any idea what's going on with my zigbee map here?
All of the "floating" devices are actually linked correctly and working
I fixed the devices floating by changing nwkAddr to 0 as described in this bug, but the coordinator is still flying around everywhere https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt/issues/11968
I know I’ve read this somewhere. I have a bunch of Phillips hue lights through a Philips hue bridge and a whole bunch of a aqura sensors through their bridge I’ve got the Sonos zig be stick want to do away with all the Hubs and run everything that way. The only thing I’m hung up on is if the power goes out and it comes back on I want the lights to stay at the state they were at Don’t really want to wake up to all the lights on in the house being on 100%. I know I read a way to do this, but I cannot remember what I need to set.
It’s configurable
None of the sockets I have will act as a router for Aqara battery devices. They do work fine for other zigbee battery devices though.
slightly different from what you asked but I used a handful of these in wall outlets and they handle aquara great.
That's interesting, since my enbrighten light switches won't
Yep, can easily be changed in ZHA settings. I think for Z2M it's also fairly easy: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/9290024687.html#power-on-behavior (just a command)
yeah thats odd. Those fixed a lot of issues for me. They have great reach and good support for everything. I have a ton of aquara sensors
Anyone here that successfully has integrated their Linkind Keypad into Home Assistant or similar that could get me some help or advice before I start digging myself into how I may get it to work? I'm already well experienced with Javascript, programming, etc.
The enbrighten light switch won't work well with your aqara sensors? They were on my list of things to buy 😩
I have a bunch of the Enbrighten (Jasco) switches, work great and I have a ton of Aqara
Relief
2.4GhZ, nuff said. If it's not Hue I don't even bother anymore. For some reason their implementation works better than most.
I'm removing any device that isn't Hue or Aqara
trying to keep my ecosystem as simple as possible
every now and then an end device or two just drop off, and it's incredibly difficult to get them to reconnect
today it's the Aqara leak sensor under my washing machine 🙄
I usually just turn everything off at the switchboard to reset all the routers, give it a few minutes, then turn them back on again
😨
so what's the solution to this problem then? you cant control routes right?
You can buy selected brands
i plan to replace my hue bridge with a controller like the tube devices and was hoping my hue bulbs would work as routers
I am using Zigbee2mqtt on a pie with a sonoff dongle wanting to change the channel and turn the output up some. I know how to change those settings but the last time I did it I broke everything and ended up starting over. It kept coming up with and error about deleting the config back up or something like that but I can’t figure out what and where that file is.
they do, most of the time.
i guess i've overloaded my hue bridge and lights respond slow now >50 devices
Hello
Does anyone know who @mighty river is on Github?
Anyone to contact him on Discord / Telegram?
Changing channel requires re pairing all the devices
That doesn’t bother me. I’ve only got a door sensor and a motion sensor in there right now. I hadn’t put everything back in till I figured it all out.
I'm having some trouble with an Ikea Tradfri remote, I've done a lot of googling and so far the solution seems to be to downgrade the firmware on the remote.
I'm following this guide, but as I'm still a noob to the HA community, I'm not sure how
You can't downgrade firmware without modifying code in zigpy. I guess you want to do group binding with the IKEA remotes? (Newest firmware can only be bound per-device but to multiple devices)
Is it correct that custom ZHA quirks only load from the base directory?
i. e. this works:
/config/custom_quirks/this_is_loaded.py
but this doesn't:
/config/custom_quirks/advanced/this_is_not_loaded.py
For z2m yes, I believe Hue can pull this off tho iirc
just picked up a IKEA motion sensor and having issues trying to join the network with zigbee2mqtt.. it keeps trying to join and then leaves does this like 4/5 times and times out.. any suggestions?
also when it does work, the sensor will report detected motion but will never clear
@rotund wing posted a code wall, it is moved here --> https://hastebin.com/ufuxorapay
I use the Zigbee2MQTT and Mosquitto addon
I use the Zigbee2MQTT and Mosquitto
I have a cheap zigbee 2-device relay I got on Amazon. It works well, but occasionally switch 2 (I think always switch2) will trigger. If I look at the HA logbook I see the device went away and came back. If I had to guess it seems like either a power or firmware issue with the device. But I also want to make sure I’m not doing something wrong/stupid since this is for a garage door and it’s awkward having it open at 2am. I wasn’t exactly sure what to search to see if this is a common problem
for something critical like this I'd replace it.
so just the 2nd relay entity went away and came back or the whole device did and the 2nd relay triggered?
Does anyone know how to fix devices going Unavailable after a long period of time? Details: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/xiaomi-aqara-devices-eventually-become-unavailable/440804
What integration are you using and what device is reporting offline? Do you have any routers to extend your mesh so that the device has a strong connection back to the coordinator? Is your coordinator on a USB 2.0 extension cable?
The builtin one (Zigbee Home Automation). Almost any Xiaomi/Aqara device eventually ends up unavailable. I do not have routers, but my understanding it is a mesh; they are all well connected around the house. When I press the pair button after they become unavailable, they instantly reconnect without issue which seems to indicate they are within range. I am not using a cable, just the HUSBZB-1 USB Hub.
If you have no routers and just a bunch of sensors, your mesh consists of a single coordinator stick. Try an extension cable. Sensors shouldn't go offline in the first place.
the whole device went away and came back and the 2nd relay triggered
agreed. i mostly wanted to make sure i'm not doing something wrong when using a contact sensor and zigbee relay together as a "garage" cover. i'll unhook the device for now since i definitely don't need that scare again
I run an arduino mega on my garage door and a timer that kills the power overnight.
i like not having to put together my own IOT devices, but i guess you get what you pay for
I mean, you are basically just moving the issue somewhere else tho.
Unless, the Arduino runs offline?
Also, you assume you'll never arrive late at home and risk getting stuck outside.
right. i had considered "don't ever let the garage door do that overnight", but seems like a patch to the problem
^^
Do you recall those metal things known as keys? old fashioned I know
Its a backup, known as belts and braces....just in case.
Whatever makes you sleep well at night
I can get an extension cable sure. Just so I follow, what would be its purpose?
extension cables can help with interference when zigbee sticks are plugged directly into a usb port.
well, is there some other way to get this silly thing to work with ZHA? or is swiching toi Z2M recommended instead?
I don't use Z2M. Don't think Z2M can downgrade firmware by default either. What's the reason you want to downgrade the firmware? Group bindings?
Just confirmed that it works with up-to-date firmware with ZHA. Are you listening to zha_event in the Dev Tools or using device automation triggers? (Remotes don't have entities)
It's often impossible to downgrade firmware
this is also null and void, if you are being targeted by someone that can trigger your garage opener, they'll also know how to trigger the backup power switch.
I'm trying to pair an aqara motion sensor, and i can't get it to show up in either zigbe2mqtt or deCONZ
I have a conbee II stick as my hub
Is your Conbee on a USB extension cable?
It is not
Plug it into one and try again. The Conbee will often not work without an extension cable.
huh... okay
this is my zigbee2mqtt config ```yml
data_path: /config/zigbee2mqtt
socat:
enabled: false
master: pty,raw,echo=0,link=/tmp/ttyZ2M,mode=777
slave: tcp-listen:8485,keepalive,nodelay,reuseaddr,keepidle=1,keepintvl=1,keepcnt=5
options: '-d -d'
log: false
mqtt: {}
serial:
port: >-
/dev/serial/by-id/usb-dresden_elektronik_ingenieurtechnik_GmbH_ConBee_II_DE2498138-if00
They cant rigger the garage door opener, it has no network. The timer is standalone digital, no network, purposeful design.
serial:
adapter: deconz
``` is recommended
I also need to run mosquito?
Well, you need an MQTT broker for Z2M to talk to
Otherwise, it's kinda broken 😉
Zigbee2Nothing won't work as well
haha fair enough
My tube's ethernet to zigbee dongle just arrived. For Z2m I cant have the sonoff and tube's running on the same instance?
READ THIS CAREFULLY
Refusing to start because configuration is not valid, found the following errors:
- must have required property 'mqtt'
If you don't know how to solve this, read https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/configuration
No, pick one
Or run two Z2M instances, if you're wanting more pain
``` current config
na I have a wife for that 🤪
I'll migrate off the sonoff, no biggee
I run a standalone Zigbee2mqtt service, connected to my MQTT broken, then I use Hass MQTT integartion to expose the devices on HASS.
And then use Z2m on homebridge to expose the acessories on apple home kit.
Best solution I found so far to have My wife android user get control of the stuff and me on home kit at the same time
Im using a Conbee 2 dongle to pick up Zigbee devices and it will rarely pick anything up if it's plugged directly into my Raspberry Pi. I ordered a USB Extension cable since it worked when I plugged it into my keyboard instead. I also have a dongle for Z-Wave devices that I'm not using yet. I'm assuming I'll run into a similar issue with it. Can I put the two dongles next to each other away from the RPI without interference?
does anyone make a standard rocker style "wall switch" which just functions as a zigbee switch? then i can connect that to HA to contorl the light?
just to be sure, make sure you DONT have them connected to the USB 3 ports (the blue ones) , but use USB 2 instead.
it seems a unit like this is the closest i have found, but dont know how well it would work when not connected to the traditional load: https://ezzigbee.com/ge-enbrighten-add-switch-quickfit-and-simplewire
Hue has an in wall remote
Not cheap but I think it’s what you’re asking for?
Not quite. I have something like that right now (https://a.aliexpress.com/_msRejXu) but it expects momentary switch, and just scrolls through brightness levels until you turn it "off"
I want to control the brightness and on/off based of a combination of time and switch (if late at night, then max brightness is 25%), but can't do that with the module, since the on/off status doesn't go through HA
If I can get a traditional looking toggle rocker switch, so it goes switch-HA-dimmer, then I think I can make it work
Basically, a single gang rocker style switch, that can function as a zigbee switch without being connected to the load
That goes behind the switch and the load is not connected to it
The load is tied directly to the light (hard powered constantly) and the switch is wired to this device
@coral plaza ^^
so all the switch does with this is sends zigbee commands to HA. The load is completely disconnected from the switch
it basically turns a wall switch into a remote
Ok, so it's similar, but opposite, to what I currently have!
I'll check it out when I get home
I've got an ikea 5 button bound to a group of zigbee lights. It works great at turning them on/off but it doesn't change the entity state within home assistant and so adaptive lighting turns them back on a minute later. Any way to make sure the binding triggers a change in entity state for the zigbee group?
You can flash the sonoff w/ router firmware and use it as a router instead of coordinator if you'd like
actually that's a brilliant idea, TY
I might need to my signals are like 40 or worse 😦
I want to flash my sonoff 3.0 into a zigbee router what the recommended way?...I have python installed and working
I have an aqara water sensor the kitchen that connect to hue lights that are extending my network. However, the kitchen lights are always getting turned off, causing my water sensor to loose connection. I want to throw a sonoff zigbee mini behind the light switch so the hue lights will never loose power. Is this a valid solution?
Hi, I just got a Tuya Zigbee Temperature/humidity display https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002401032843.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.71011802lYJsVN
I added it to my Tasmotized Sonoff zigbee hub.
I got its illuminance value correctly but its temperature and humidity values are showing unknown. Does anyone have a solution for this issue?
Are you using ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT?
ZHA
if anyone can help ^
Did you add just
mqtt:
``` to the configuration?
Hi, Ive flashed a sonoff 3.0 as a router but its not coming up in the z2m as a device, any ideas what to look at please? I have tube's ethernet dongle as the main co-ordinator
Yes, I said you should use that, I didn't say to remove anything though
yeah i just saw more logs and now it says error opening serial port
Error: Error: No such file or directory, cannot open /dev/serial/by-id/usb-dresden_elektronik_ingenieurtechnik_GmbH_ConBee_II_DE2498138-if00
you need a serial and port,
serial:
port: tcp://192.168.1.125:6638
(I am using an ethernet)
port: >- take the > out
port would be /dev/usb0 or something like that
When i save the config it adds the >- back
Nah, port should be the /dev/serial/by-id/ path
And >- is fine, that's a YAML construct
oh ok, no idea then
It looks like the add-on isn't getting the USB stick passed to it
if i try to ls the /dev/serial/by-id folder, it now doesn't exist
it did a few moments ago tho
That could be because you've also configured ZHA or deCONZ, or it could be that the stick isn't being detected at all
If you're on a Pi then power issues can cause USB sticks to vanish
i told home assistant to ignore the conbi stick, and uninstalled deCONZ
im on a pi 4
recommended power supply ?
I bought a pi4 kit on amazon, and used the power supply it came with
Powered USB hub can sometimes help
tbh i used the hdmi cable it came with too, and that was a damaged cable
who was the pi4 kit from?
sadly that doesnt look good. Adapters = bad sign
I tried steamlink with raspiOS, and the controllers it came with if i plugged in and pressed a button, would cause steamlink to crash lol
After i bought the kit, i relised i had a spare m.2 so i could have bought the argon case
but it's hard to get hold of a raspi 4 since they're out of stock everywhere, so an overpriced kit was the only place i could find one
Well those PSU have good reviews
Yes I know its a bugger. I used an odroidn2+I had spare
One of the reviews said it came with a microsd card, either i lost it during unboxing which i don't think i did, or mine never came with one :/
so i had to go buy one of those too
it didn't come with the little paper for the sd card which is in the review picture either, so going to assume they stopped adding them, even tho it's in the "package includes" section
complain to amazon and get a refund, i find they are good
and the hdmi cable it came with was hdmi to micro hdmi 4K apparently, but just didn't show a picture, i switched to a diff cable after like an hour and it *just works*
I don't really want to return it, which i think would be my only option
ask amazon for a partial refund?
it's weird how they included the sd card adapter, but no sd card
So i ordered a new sd card, then like a day later, found i had a spare one :/
same with SSD to USB adapter
i just moved house so i didn't know where they were but found them after i purchased them
they offered me 30 GBP in credit
what devices make really good network routers? ie have good wifi power
and compatible
Really good would be any CC2652 based device with an antenna, but pretty much any mains powered device is a router
The ZHA integration stopped working for me after restarting the HA host. I'm using a Sonoff zigbee 3.0 usb dongle plus and just updated its firmware, but that didn't help. Restoring old backups also did nothing. Does anyone know this error?
ok, I fixed it by readding all zigbee devices two times. Seems like a recent update messed up the zigbee network for some people, which is why restoring a backup does not work. I still don't know what 'Status.NWK_INVALID_REQUEST: 194' means, but it's working now. https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/66291
Hi, I'm getting this issue on ZHA , 2022-07-19 22:51:57 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.zha.core.channels.base] [0xB2F8:8:0x0006]: async_initialize: all attempts have failed: [DeliveryError('[0xb2f8:8:0x0006]: Message send failure'), DeliveryError('[0xb2f8:8:0x0006]: Message send failure'), DeliveryError('[0xb2f8:8:0x0006]: Message send failure'), DeliveryError('[0xb2f8:8:0x0006]: Message send failure')] , all the devices is showing unavailable , need help on this, anyone?
I'm using ConBee II
is the device offline?
0xb2f8
looks like a bulb
any chance it is powered off?
if so just ignore the messages
if not, the device is not reachable for some reason
@tropic depot I've 74 devices and 487 entities , all is down/unavailable , what i should do? did restart the HA and downgrade HA OS/Core also not help this case
i will try to restore to older backup first
older backups may screw up the network based on counters
i'm not too sure what the potential harm is
lets try first, since i've latest and old backup, i dont want to repair back all devices..
restored on old backup , seem failed to get zha working with Conbee II : https://dpaste.org/vjoDH @tropic depot
Can you upload the full log file? https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha/#debug-logging
Here the log : https://dpaste.org/dMUV1
I just found this while I was looking for something else. Looks like a useful piece of glue. https://manuals.plus/moss/contzgb5ch12v48v-4-in-1-universal-zigbee-led-controller-manual
The whole log. Including startup. If you don't want to post it in public, you can PM it to me.
sure
I'm looking for a small retrofit zigbee solution to put a single RGB or (preferably) an RGBW LED into a decor light so I can use it as a multi-colour indicator in HA. WOuld you have any suggestions please?
WLED on an ESP is probably going to be a better choice
That looks good. Thanks
This is literally my life
- "Where is this thing I know I have? I could get one on Prime tomorrow for next to nothing."
- waits 3-5 days looking for it
- orders on Amazon anyways, gets it next day
- finds the thing the very next day
(I did some preliminary googling but all I found were product results)
So, as I understand it, Zigbee devices form a mesh in which they can control each other without the hub being active. If I have a remote and a light in the same Zigbee network (using a USB Zigbee bridge) can I program the remote in Home Assistant to control specific lights or groups of lights, even if Home Assistant is unreachable?
You would pair them to each other in zigbee2mqtt, not homeassistant. I can't remember exactly what it's called as I haven't had any ZigBee for 4 months now since I moved but I had IKEA remotes controlling OSRAM bulbs directly.
Ah, it’s called “binding”. That’s good to know. It looks like Home Assistant has support for it, according to this doc: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha/
I’ll see if I can get it working when I have the time. Would like to avoid zigbee2mqtt if I can, so I don’t have Yet Another Thing To Maintain 😅
Thanks!
Np. Fwiw there isn't really anything more to maintain using z2m vs zha imho. The addon auto updates and you just get more granular control over your ZigBee network. But whatever works for you works. 😉
same
how do you remove your lights from zha? been stuck with my non reachable lights for quite some time. tried different cordinators... guessing there isnt a way to force pairing mode on these stupid hue bulbs
A hue remote can reset Hue bulbs
like a dimmer switch?
Yes
Yeah these
I have one of the older models I keep just for resetting lights. Power off and on the light from source power, hold remote close, hold on and off until it blinks. It may be slightly different on the v2 but there's plenty of info online on the process.
wow yeah it worked! thanks a bunch!
I have a tasmotized sonoff zigbee bridge (ZHA) and have no issues adding in door locks, light switches and aqara sensors (switch, pir sensors, door/window sensor, vibration sensors, water leaking sensor). So my zigbee devices number is growing. I thought all zigbee devices will be easy to be added until I got 5 Tuya Zigbee Temperature/Humidity/Illuminance sensor with display. Power and illuminance have values but temperature and humidity have "unknown" value.
Does anyone have a solution or is able to shed some lights on this issue? Thank you.
Hi Guys, have a Hue Zigbee system with all my devices, I am thinking about Matter support and whether or not its worth waiting for Matter devices ( currently don't need any) I know hue are making the Hub Matter supported so the device bought today will be compatible, my main questions is, can anyone forsee and advantage to having devices that are matter supported instead of just commuinicating through a hub then to a boarder device, or is the hue hub essentially a boarder device?
whats the cheapest & most effective way to add routers to improve my zigbee mesh? ie they need to have good aerial I think.
Ikea plug sockets cheapest for UK
Tuya/xiaomi plugs can be known to not place nice with other devices
are you having problems devices not connecting? if its all working no point spending extra casholaa
Hello Guys, Has anyone knows if the zemismart GU10 bulbs work with ZHA?
What's the exact error?
I have the official power supply now
Also, do you have the ConBee on a USB extension cable?
Images of text ...
yeah
if i stop the addon
and go to terminal
pretty sure i can see it at the path
but when the addon tries to find it, it seems to vanish
What does the hardware menu show for the path?
Doesn't matter if it's on an extension cable, but USB 2.0 is better than 3.0
Yeah, under System I think
3.0 extension cable into 3.0 port may cause problems
Ohh i didnt know this
im rebooting it real quick, but its now in usb 2.0 port too
I did setup external access btw
I couldn't see it in the hardware section, but its in the serial folder
and its no longer there....
Hi all, I'm trying to get Tradfri Shortcut buttons working in z2m and having some issues. The most major issue is that it doesn't recognize the button push and labels it as N/A or null. It also does not load the battery percentage. I keep trying to update the firmware but get met with:
"Update of 'Ikea Tradfri Shortcut Button 1' failed (Timeout: device did not request any image blocks)","status":"error"}'
It sounds like the device is timing out and z2m hasn't seen the device in a few minutes now (pressing it won't refresh the last seen time). Everything else is working perfectly and I can't find too much on this topic. Any ideas?
Seems like it keep disconnecting? But im not touching it
It's a Conbee feature. Try updating its firmware.
Either with deCONZ or with https://github.com/dresden-elektronik/gcfflasher
This fixed the conbee stick .-.
it no longer disconnects when connected to computer
So i'll try HA again
yes I have an aqara temp sensor 6m from the co-ordinator cant get a pickup, the front of the house is a dead spot. Ive used an aqara zigbee socket as a temp router but its signal strength seems sub par and its a huge waste as a router and nothing else
Aqara won't always choose the best parent. Rejoin it but only permot joins through the physically closest router.
How do I do that? really though the signal isnt good and I need a handful of sensors there so a good router seems sensible
whats the approved way to share an image?
@cobalt dew Your message has been deleted as it contains a link or a domain name 'pasteboard_dot_co' that is on the blocked list because of: 'Virus detected!'.
Please re-post by removing/changing the domain name/link. Your original message has been DM'ed to you.
Looks fine to me
Z2M should have a drop-down menu when you permit joins so your can select a router
needs to go another 2~3m but cant
ah Ok ty
I am thinking put another sonoff where that plug is maybe, its an un-used socket mid-way to where I need to be
its only 3m from the co-ordinator but wont go any furthe
r
I spent some time last night moving it around but this is the best I could get
There is no issue jumping through a second router?
No, that's the whole purpose of a mesh network
TY, I am a newbie I read but that's theory not real world.
When you bind a device or group via lets say a remote and that remote turns the device/group off, should that change the entity state in HA?
ie group was on is then turned off via binding, should it then show as off in the entity state?
Yeah
strange, doesn't seem to be happening for me for some reason
Have you tried clicking the "reconfigure device" button on the affected devices?
controller or controlled group?
The devices that aren't reporting back to the coordinator that their state has changed
they do if I change them in home assistant directly it's only with bound device that it doesn't change
i must have messed up the binding. think i didn't include levelctrl and only included on/off
redid it with levelcrtl and its working now
actually still doesn't seem to be 100% that it'll change entity state though physically lights go on/off
and then randomly they will go back on/off to reflect the home assistant state
Hi, is there a way to show zigbee info LQI ,etc on lovelace?
Hey all, I added a hue white bulb to Z2MQTT recently and after pairing, it displayed a (!) icon with "interview not complete" next to it. It appeared as a new device in Home Assistant, but it was reporting unknown and I was unable to control it. I decided to try removing it and repeating the pairing process, but now it will not pair at all after multiple resets using the Hue remote method. I also tried adding it back to the Hue app, which does discover and let me add it. I deleted the info from configuration.yaml in Z2MQTT but that has not helped either. Is there a trick to get this thing to discover/add?
If you get an unknown = leave for a bit. I find sensors etc seem to clear up OK.
There might be a proper way but I ended up installing terminal and editing files by hand to clean them up YMMV do a FULL backup first if you go this route.
Was there an update recently in Home Assistant? My MQTT integration suddenly died
Missing
No wonder my Zigbee lights all failed to register when I did voice command
Yes I patched last night
Hey everyone. Not sure if this is the right place to ask. Having issues with my zigbee lights not working. Message appears not found when I try switch a light on
Man. I have one ikea 2 button remote that lasts months and another that lasts 2-3 days. Same fw version
Not sure what the diff is, both are paired to different home depot zigbee lights
My whole house has ikea lights and worked flawlessly before all these updates came through (not sure if the cause)
Getting this the whole time. My SO was not impressed with me to say the least
And so unstable. Can switch the lights on now and works. Try again in a few minutes and nothing but that error
I'm seeing logs for both Deconz and ZHA. Do you have both integrations installed? They're mutually exclusive.
Is there a way to disable just the zigbee portion of a husbzb-1 ? I use it for both zwave and zigbee, but plan to replace the zigbee portion with a tubes poe zigbee coordinator that I ordered. (ZHA if that matters)
Surprisingly, this is the first time this has ever come up, but I have a zigbee device that pairs okay but isn't functionally recognized (and HA throws "unknown cluster" warnings a lot). Any starting place for next steps? Happy to do some work to integrate it. (It's a hose timer: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B1JN6KZX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). And I'm on zha. Thanks!
I think you can just not add the zigbee integration on that USB device, or disable it if it auto-creates one. I actually have a second zwave device on my machine so my husbzb-1 zwave is disabled in this way.
Without an active integration, HA will just never talk to the USB device (and there are separate linux device files for the zigbee and zwave portions of the husbzb-1). If you want to dismantle an existing network that's a slightly different thing but it doesn't sound like you do.
Isn't there like more than an update a week at this point lol
Disable? No. But as others mentioned just don't use it. Put your z2m anywhere you want, so long as HA and it are talking to the same mqtt broker you're fine. I ran a HUSBZB-1 for both for a while and then switched to a CC2652P for ZigBee but still used my HUSBZB-1 for ZWave. I just had three total TTY devices but only used two of them. Later moved Z2M (and the other z2m, mqtt, and node red) to a separate Pi and worked fine.
lol no idea. but fixed it. something did indeed change with the MQTT integration at HA. it now requires a username and password when before I didn't have any
(you should also always address your USB ttys by serial for this reason, if you have more than one device they can change between tty0/tty1)
No from what I see I only have the one?
Deconz
Weirdly I had both installed but removed ZHA now
But no luck atm
I need assistance please. I have a button that is bound to the old removed Sonoff Zigbee USB coordinator, and even after removing and reinstalling, it keeps binding to it. Is there a way to remove the old coordinator completely as in the ZHA integration there is not delete option. The new coordinator is a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB. The old coordinator shows up as unk_manufacturer unk_model and even disable it, but keeps binding to it. Any help?
Removed both Zha and deconz intergrations and added deconz integration again and all working as it should
