We understand your excitement and wish to discuss the new game with people, we feel the same way! But please keep in mind that not everyone has a chance to play at release, and being spoiled would absolutely suck for them. That's right! The Lake is looking for a new poster ad to put into Underground Blossom and it might just be one designed by you!
During the rest of September (and as a warm-up to #laketober2023) We're hosting an art contest with the theme:__ Rusty Lake Ad.__
10 winners will be selected at the end of this month, and The Lake's favourite entry will be added to one of the metro stations of the upcoming game: Underground Blossom. 🌸
All winners will receive a metro ticket that comes with a free copy of the game on a platform of their choice. 👀 🎟️

Hi everyone @here!

We could really use your help! In a couple of minutes we will be releasing a public beta version for Underground Blossom 🚇 🌸 on Steam and in this beta version we would like to ask some of you to help us test the game before it goes live for everyone else.

We have been working hard on the black screen and disappearing items issue that quite some players have reported. We hope it is fixed in this version by adjusting the save game system in general. It would be super helpful if we get a some people on board for some extra playthroughs of this version. Especially players that experienced black screens or disappearing items and see if this fixes your issues. If you did not experience these issues but you really want to test, feel free to also install the beta and help us out .

How to get the beta
In the Steam library, right-click Underground Blossom > Properties > Betas > Enter beta access code: Harvey123456 > Check Code > Opt in > Select betatesting in the Beta Participation dropdown.

The game should then update and you are ready to test our beta!

Reporting feedback
Please report any feedback regarding the beta into this specific Thread: ⁠https://discord.com/channels/319613669438914560/1157623016344260678 (you can join the thread by typing something in the thread or joining it through the threads button in #🐎｜sotl-feedback ) The main focus would be to see if you still get any black screens or disappearing items. Also please reboot the game a couple of times while playing and see if your save game is working fine. Please do not use the default channels for beta feedback, we would like to keep those for the live version 😊

Almost a decade at The Lake @everyone

Less than two months remain until we celebrate 10 years of Rusty Lake! We want to start the festivities early by adorning the server with The Lake's celebrating denizens. So, for March (and a bit of April), we’ll be hosting a banner art contest!
The theme for the contest is: A decade at Rusty Lake

Show us your favourite characters at a party, our beloved families sharing a cake (with or without needles) or anything else you’d think The Rusty Lake cast would do to celebrate!

The minimum size of a Discord banner is 960 pixels wide and 540 pixels tall, and the recommended aspect ratio is 16:9! 📐

Same Rusty Lake server, new layout! We've rearranged some channels and slightly modified others, all in the hopes of improving the overall server experience for both new and existing members!

Help & Support

The major change we really want to point out is that from now on all Rusty Lake help channels have been combined into #1425769608996192336. This channel, along with #1357676462307541032, has been moved to a new category: “🆘 Help and Support”. So if you need help with any of the Rusty Lake games please post your questions in #1425769608996192336 going forward.

New channel hierarchy and naming

Most of the channels in the server remain the same. We have added an emoji to all of the channels that were missing one, just like with the Servant of the Lake channels. We've also moved important channels like #✅｜rules, #📯｜rl-announcements and #📚｜resources to the top of the server, and less active channels like #📝｜rl-untold to the bottom.

Hey @everyone! Welcome to #📣｜server-announcements; a new channel we've created that branches of #announcements, now known as #📯｜rl-announcements

We wanted to have these two announcement channels so we can make all Rusty Lake and game-related announcements on one channel (almost always with a ping) and another channel for server changes and updates that don't necessarily require a ping to everyone. Having this new channel is also a clearer way to announce server news, any warnings concerning bot attacks and server contests (emote contests etc.)!

So be sure to keep an eye out on announcements that are related solely to the server!

We’ve recently received some feedback about our English only policy in the main Rusty Lake channels. We’ve enacted this policy to make sure that we, as moderators, can moderate the server. Most members of our mod team are not native English speakers. However, English is the language we all have in common, and the language the vast majority of this server is familiar with, which makes it the most accessible to everyone.

As some of you may have noticed we've changed up some of the server channels a bit.
#Fanart has been changed to #🎨｜fan-creations and #fan-writings has been removed. This way all fan-made Rusty Lake creations can be posted in one channel (this includes songs, animations, wood-working, if you made it and it’s Rusty Lake related, you can show it off here!).
We have also gotten rid of #promotion-ideas and rebranded it to #bug-reports-old. Please leave all your bug/glitch reports in that channel. If you have any other suggestion about Rusty Lake, the games, or the server you can still leave those in #💭｜suggestions-and-feedback
Finally, we figured that Discord's spoiler tags have made the #spoilers channel redundant, so we removed it.

Also pay careful attention to the links, as you'll notice Discord spelled incorrectly for example as: “dissord” / "discordll" in all of them, something to watch out for if you find yourself getting one of these messages.
As always if a spam user shows up in chat ping <@&358613639554400258> to get our attention (you've all been doing a stellar job at that! ) so we can get rid of the link and promptly ban the user.

Just a quick update with regards to the scam bots that have been plaguing the server:
We've enabled an auto-mod feature on Dyno (a discord bot that helps us moderate the server),
which automatically bans people who send multiple links in less than 3 seconds.
This ban is not permanent and lasts 5 minutes.
If you find yourself suddenly removed from the server it may be because you posted too many links too quickly.
We hope this will help keep spam links off the server! But, as always, if you do happen to see something suspicious, or you get DM'ed by someone whom you suspect to be a scammer, be sure to let the moderation team know by pinging us <@&358613639554400258>

Just a quick update about the layout of the server!

As you probably already know we’ve started a separate server for **Second Maze **(https://discord.gg/YUQqmDhnVG), which we of course invite you all to join if you haven’t already! Because of this, we will be closing the Second Maze section here on the Rusty Lake server!
Rest assured all the walkthroughs and hints pinned in those channels will be available for you over on the Second Maze channel!

An exception to this is The White Door. As part of the Rusty Lake catalogue of games, you will still be able to chat about the game in #🩸｜general-chat (where you can already discuss any of the Rusty Lake games) and #the-white-door-help channel will remain available as is!

Final r/place update: After a full day of fighting for our little spots on the canvas we ended up with two! The one seen below which got taken over by a flag and a tiny little cube seen here: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FPhYseXXsAU-wBF?format=jpg&name=4096x4096 (top right corner). But all good things must come to an end and so too this fun activity, we'd like to thank everyone so much for participating today, be it building, defending, communicating with us here and with other people to ensure our little pixels could stay whole, we couldn't have done this without you all! Hey @everyone , happy Monday !

We've recently seen a new type of scam going around Discord. They've been sending DMs to people like the one in the image below, claiming that you've done some nefarious things and inviting you to a discord server. This is a scam.

When you join the server you will be tricked into scanning a QR code that will give them access to your Discord account. If this has happened to you, please change your password!

Also: don't forget to enable 2FA to keep your account safe in general, and let a mod in the server know if/when you receive a suspicious DM!
