Yes he's the same person that made the MG338 I linked but doesn't seem to have any interest in updating the M249 mod he made as far as I can tell don't know why but there's always a possibility someone else does one.

No because the mod itself was made on a different game engine UE4 and RoN is now on UE5.
Many mods died along the way. Especially when RoN transitioned from Unreal Engine 4 to 5.

Not really unless sniper rifles count there's this that gives a explosive version of the normal nade launcher: https://www.nexusmods.com/readyornot/mods/5345 aside from that there's some of the more unique gun builds but not really any other LMGs or anything like that if that's what you want.
Definitely not I mean I don't think it's impossible for someone to add but it would require custom animations and there's not a lot of modders that do custom animations and I'm not sure how they'd handle the actual rocket projectile firing nor the explosion either.

Yea but vanilla grenades don't explode like a frag grenade if anything taking the explosive effect from a breach charge or something would be more accurate.

Do gun mods let you play without being host
In the case of using weapon mods when others don't have them installed:
- If it's a simple reskin or replacer, it should work without any issues. (Others will not be able to see it.)
- If a weapon replacer does something like having custom attachments, then it's very probable that using said attachments will kick others out of the game, they will simply not be usable if you're not hosting.
- If it's an addon weapon, then this may or may not kick people as well, but even if it doesn't, usually people won't be able to see or hear this weapon, and it'll look like you're holding an invisible gun. If you're not hosting the weapon won't be usable.
- If it's an unlocked weapon from the game files that was originally intended for player use, then people will be able to see this and should be able to hear it as well.
- If it's an unlocked weapon such as the M249 from SniperOrNot (which is outdated currently), then you'll be bugged into being a giant with said weapon.

From in game mod.io? Yes because the vast majority of them were outdated and would simply break/crash the game if you installed them. Anything else that was caught in the cross fire is likely still available on Nexusmods.

Both of you should just disable server side checksum in gameplay options, this will allow you to use different mods and still be able to play together, though certain mods will still require that both of you have them installed.

Anyone know how to fix Maple Valley High School from freezing your game? Every time I try to load in it freezes at the loading screen.
I mean that's normal for any modded map needs time to generate the world data but some maps can take a very long time. Maple Valley has a worldgen file uploaded on the mod page so I'd recommend getting that if you want to load in faster.

Not in any easy or simple fashion and generally you should get permission from the mod author if you're going to do so. Honestly though that map wasn't that great.
No,cause it's against rules to take someones work and tamper with. So either make your own variant of it,get perm from author or ask them nicely to update it.

With Vortex mod manager as long as the option to download through it is available on the mod file you can have them automatically download through it but it's really hit or miss whether or not it'll work right so it's strongly recommended to only download your mods manually.

Simple mod menu isn't really a mod manager it'll activate mods that depend on it to function but aside from being able to disable and enable some of those mods via their blueprints it doesn't really offer much management for those mods and it does not have any features for installing mods automatically on to it.

A lot of mods on mod io that are outdated have been purged recently so youâll have to look at nexus mods and see if itâs there. If itâs not then itâs likely gone for the time being

They're outdated. If the files aren't in the .ogg format then they won't work. There's currently only a TOC from this page that would be working at least somewhat: https://www.nexusmods.com/readyornot/mods/22

yeah it's weird, super easy to install and just put the files where they go.
Did you put the folders inside the all in one folder in the VO folder or just put the all in one folder in your VO folder?
when you extract the folder through 7-zip it gives you like 3 folders. cause i downloaded them all except the TOC. The folders are like (Player Judge), Civilians, and Suspect. and i just dropped thouse into my VO folder.
Sounds like you installed all the optional files then which as far as I can tell are the same as the all in one but they were uploaded earlier than the all in one main file but should all work. In any case, you need to move the folders inside those folders into the VO folder. The names should match with the VO folders they're replacing.

No not rlly unless they weren't updated for a FAT, amount of time, AND, stopped working to an unplayable degree.
Even still; I always kept most of the OG, unpacked zip-files in an actually seperated mods folder. Out of my RoN's Paks folder.
Have you tried checking your mod.io subscriptions in game or through the website then? as it may still be there although it is most likely hidden now.

In my experience RoN doesn't really like being installed onto those.
It's best installed on your main drive or an internal SSD.
I'm sorry but you may have to delete or move around other things to make space for it.

@atomic pumice Would you per chance know how the ammo in the tube and reserve are handled for shotguns? I can get the shells per slot and max shells in weapon matched to a variable, but can't match the actual tube and reserves to one (skill issue possible)
1 ammo slot for shotguns is always 8 shells

If ammomax = 10 then 9 shells will be in the tube, 1 in chamber and other 6 left in your pocket
I forgot to mention that you also need edit MaxShellsInWeapon to make it work

I switched to play in save mode to get two of the archievments. Then I switched back to the normal mode again. If you have mods in your pak folder youâll always be playing with mods unless you launch the game through Safe Mode

Well it can vary weapon to weapon how well that feature works when it comes to compressing going up against a wall.
If it's truly not working than the possible reasons for it would be:
- You didn't install the basic and/or aio file.
- The mod is installed improperly.
- You have a conflicting mod.
- If you're using a modded weapon it may not be compatible with gunfighter check vanilla weapons to see if there's a difference.

Anybody having trouble with attachment mods or gun addons?
I presume that the mods I installed were up to date because they mentioned dark waters, but when I put them in the paks folder they don't show up in game
Addon guns require simple blueprint loader and custom weapon loader to work these two mods are usually listed in the requirements or the mod page description. If you installed attachment expansion than this requires compatible weapon replacer mods it doesn't add attachments to vanilla weapons.

Any .pak mods will be effected by the server-side checksum so I recommend you disable it.
This is an addon cosmetic mod so as host you'll be able to wear it and see it others that don't have it installed will see the default uniform. If you were to join a game where the host doesn't have it installed than you'll still be able to equip it but you'll see the default uniform on yourself.
Gotcha, so provided server-side checksum is disabled it won't cause any disconnects. That was my primary concern, thank you so much!

Just beat the game with Swat and suspect AI overhaul and Gunfighter, While I deeply deeply enjoyed the game I found that the mod or mod combo made suspects easier to capture alive and I never saw something like playing dead, hostage taking or other things I know they capable off like faking a surrender. Wondering what other AI mods are out there to try out for a 2nd playtrough

There is an updated versi9n of that mod, creator removed the knives tho. So they just run at you punch you.

Yes mods that require them will usually state it in the mod page description and even in the requirements in some cases. If a mod is labeled with a DLC name like "Dark Waters" this usually is just the author signifying the mod is up to date for the latest version of the game.

Is Swat Suspects Ai mod better than vanilla AI? In your opinion?

The ai in vanilla just seems so unaware, I can throw a flashbang and it lands next to them and they wonât acknowledge it until it goes off
Where as in the SS ai they react with like âWTFâ
Some mods make them more alert and more deadly while some make them less deadly cause players want to tune them to their own liking more

All 3 should work but for the laser light combo functionality you'll either want to get non-networking for single player use or networking for multiplayer use (all players must have it for it to function properly)
Note: Does not add a physical laser and light combo model just adds the functionality of it on laser attachments.

so im pretty new to downloading mods off of nexus and i got the mods i would like to put in. However the tutorial Im watching has the guy download them as the paks instead of what i got which is the rar or zip files. how do i convert them to paks so i can use them?

I'm not sure what video you're watching but generally most would showcase them extracting the files using a program such as winrar or 7zip.
When you download a mod, it comes in a rar package (depending on the mod) you unzip it and there you have the pak file, just close it and paste it into the readyornot paks folder and that's it.

I created a folder for all the RON mods I have, when you have the RAR file, throw it into this folder and unzip it to have the original RAR file and the mod's pak file in the same place.

Hey stupid question guy here.... (Talking about myself in case it's not self evident) Has anyone used the No Mercy for Terrorists mod? I have it downloaded into my Paks folder but still getting A+ rank.... I have the maid version I might try regular version so I don't have to worry about securing evidence maybe that's why? I tested it on first map and got an S but that was with AI and we cleared the place 0 casualties so no brainer that's an S rank.... Will try with version that removes evidence securing

I think you have to have the main one and then the configurations you like.
Only the main file is essential as it has both the relaxed ROE on killing suspects and no need to secure evidence the only thing that you can add on top of that is wanted dead or alive files which will make it so you're allowed to kill mission essential AI without failing that objective when they are killed.
I will say that the twisted nerve map has a bug with evidence so removing evidence pick up is essential for S rank on that map.

Well unsecured suspects would have nothing to do with the mod you likely just missed them. Level will auto complete if you finished all objectives.

The only time we rec to copy something is for Voiceover mods
Then we rec making a copy of the vanilla VO folder
But for other mods you just remove the pak file and bobs your uncle

Breaking mods doesn't equate into buggy work, the problem is when the things that the mods rely on to work are updated and changed, they break.

A refrence point may be moved, stats changed, and ID changed. All of that breaks mods

That's because 'decent' is relative. The game will never be in a place where everyone is happy, so we pick a point where the most people are happy and let the modders do the rest.
We want it to be a pick up and play experience where you don't have to tweak it to like it right out of the box.
Players in the hardcore or hyper-realistic space already know that no matter what they game is that they will have to mod it to sit in their ideal definition of a 'realistic' game.
There's a reason why Gunfighter is the singular most popular mod we have, it's because it delivers the experience that the particular niche craves.
Not even that why'd you remove the scenarios? It's repetitive as hell with just barricaded suspects, the only active shooter map isn't really an active shooter, it's so unrealistic AI wise it's not even a game at this point it's John wick simulator. Why make a swat style game that plays like call of duty when it used to be leaps better

They were removed because some maps just weren't conducive to having multiple different types of objectives, so instead of building a map and hammering multiple game-modes into it, each map was slightly tweaked to work best with a given game-mode.
The second is development overhead. Maintaining multiple maps with mutiple gamemodes required too much to keep up on

Yes but the gameplay experience was regarded as being much better then 1.0, by many people, the QOL 1.0 got on the AI from 2022 would make lots of people happy, would be really really cool too if we could talk with the team and be taken seriously, with the support of modders and the community it could be miles better

if something edits a game file, when the base game files are changed (via update) anything that edits those will need updated to accommodate the new changes
