Actually 12 ga sabot slugs penetrate far deeper and cause a much more cavernous wound channel with utterly devastating cavitation.

well ya can get a barrel too short, in which case the weapon loses a great deal of accuracy, projectile velocity, and energy. A super short barrel in a shotgun will not have enough length of barrel to properly stabalize the pellets or slug, and it will all exit the snubby barrel in a unstable state, and all at once, as opposed to stringing the shot out over distance, like when shooting pellets from a well designed shotgun with suffice barrel length

Nope, but you can disable hitscan on every weapon and set bullet speed, tho it's broken in game like it's fully ignores armor and have fixed damage on every body part

Ugh, that's just disappointing- they got so many things right, and I 'd even submit that in-cooperating projectile ballistics in this day and age is for an uber realism-based FPS is almost a necessity, if not a forgone conclusion... I mean yeah there is a slight GPU overhead involved when using PB, but nothing tremendous. Hell reduce the smoke paritcle effects by 10-20% if you have to in order to squeeze in proper ballistics..
