Nanite depends on temporal upscaling. Unreal Engine promotes temporal solutions or stuff like transparencies, shadows and global illumination may not work. It's been proven recently that it's just cheap lazy shortcuts to optimize a bad game. TAA is a massive plague in modern gaming, black myth wukong uses a sharpening filter to mask it. We have the solutions to fix these issues but upscalers depend on TAA tech. @stone stump
Sure, it is a bit dramatic of me however it's extremely important so we are aware and not incentivized towards higher resolutions when TAA is the issue.

I havenāt really had any issues with the ai swat being terrible at combat, they sometimes do the weird thing where I tell them to stack up and breach a door and they send one guy to the door, and the other three go for a jog around the whole map before eventually coming back to the door, or another door that enters the same room, guess that goes to show their inconsistency partly

yeah its normal, im running epic settings with a 5600 and 3070 and 32gb of ram and i have gotten places where i got like 40 fps

with vanilla AI I've only seen suspects hide under some beds on meth
And it was always one of the last few suspects running away to the opposite house to hide under the bed of a room I already cleared

If they ever add back active shooter as dedicated mode and actually make Ai behave like that, they need to add back sprint to some degree or add faster movement in some way
Active shooter won't ever work with the game's current ranking system, no matter how fast you can go
astral's was supposed to not deduct score for civilians killed but it still did idk why

I think the whole point of active shooter SHOULD be that you can't save everyone
it was a really cool experience but my ai team completely ruined the immersion by handcuffing dead civilians

I don't think sprint is coming back, the whole game is basically now designed after your inability to sprint, so the maps are way tighter

Itās gotten more rare, now they pull out pistols instead on most maps. To have highest odds of it occurring you simply have to stare at them and wait. Thatās it.
They used to surrender and then immediately pull out a gun. Hasn't happened since 1.0.
It deffo can happen still just insanely rare. But if you put like 3 suspects together and donāt cuff them one of them will still likely pull something on you

Is it just me or are the Swat AI bugging out on every door as in only one clears the room by themself getting shredded by gunfire or they toss a tactical and then don't clear the room staring at the door . They work if you give them the command again "Usually" but this is happening on almost every map & multiple doors/rooms I've been noticing since the latest patch
i can say that it's happened for me, but i can't say it's common
it does tend to happen fairly frequently but not all the time
maybe more than before but idk. Majority of breaches work fine
but yeah the fact it happens at all is terrible

Dealing with 12/12 suspects by arresting them will net you more points than dealing with 12/12 suspects by killing them for example.

i have seen my AI walk by themselves in a room and get mutilated by 7.62 so many times just in the few hours after the latest patch
i know it's the "wrong" way to play the game, but that kind of behavior from the AI has taught me to just leave them in "follow me" mode, effectively just using them as mobile turrets
and in general i try to avoid playing solo

I just want all the achievements but why the hell am I being "forced" (for the achievements) to be non-lethal towards people who are actively magdumping me with drum fed assault rifles ? I've spent good 4 hours trying to get narcos on S and it's just RNG. I don't really see anything else to it.

I'm on the same boat as you. S rank is just an arcade challenge that is reliant on RNG
There's only 1 or 2 levels that are truly reliant on RNG, otherwise is just open door, peek, taser, you win haha
If anything S rank is just tedious and kinda makes the game's problems rear their ugly head
True. I guess. I've got the S rank on 12 levels so far and I've just been trying for like the past 4 hours to get an S on narcos and it's been nothing but a headache. One wrong turn and I'm meeting an enemy that is unkillable due to my guns shooting peas at them...
If non lethals were removed from the game, then S rank would be a lot more interesting
I know that there was a time when incapacitated suspects didn't count as "killed" and you could get an S by just incapacitating them with lethal weapons. But I think that's no longer the case.
It might be that the beanbag has ridiculous bullet travel or something, i still haven't figured out why sometimes the bullets miss when they move
Suspects do have some ridiculous holes in their hitboxes so that might add to it, it's best to catch them off guard and aim center mass
The maps are too big for an S rank run without non lethals. Since you'll have to rely on breaching and flashbangs
But then you're back to gaming the scoring system

I've found pepperball kinda useless, it's way too inconsistent to use with direct impact and those pepper clouds it spawns barely function

m320 is pretty much taser with aoe, very hard to miss with

RoN maps just aren't that big, there's a lot of variation in spawn position, but the suspects also roam. Where you find someone is basically just RNG

You (almost) always have that guy in front of the first house in narcos, one roamer and that guy hiding in the laundry room in ides, those two assholes sitting on top of the spider, you always have the 3 guards on top of voll's house.
Even if they don't spawn necessarily it makes checking rooms trivial since you basically know the exact angle most of the time
The first house in narcos is designed so well for an ambush but it's always empty. What a waste of house smh

Flashbang launcher. It is the most effective long range option for less lethal. Perfect for parking lots.
The shield is a trap, the gas launcher takes too long, breaching tools are pointless on an S run (except for elephant), and the mirrorgun is not quite useful enough to be better than the launcher
It also frees up some extra slots for gas grenades, which are an effective alternative to the mirror gun.
When doing an AI squad S run, I distribute all of the long tacticals among them. Battering Ram, Shield, Flash Launcher, and Mirror Gun.
I find that giving a ram launcher and clear command is pretty effective, especially if you have a shield officer
Then that leaves the mirror gun for one of your teammates so you can still get some of the benefits while still having a good long-range AoE weapon.
the ai doesnt know how to reload launchers, i give my swat ai these long tacs;
i give 2 shotguns since if i split the teams i can have them use a breaching tool instead or kicking/lockpicking

they might be really stubborn but you have to get them to surrender somehow

ceramic armour is probably better anyways
If you are hit in the armour, kevlar and steel I blieve just reduce the damage, ceramic will completely block it but will break after a number of hits
helmets should be able to take atleast 1 bullet, more from pistol calibres
and the ballistic facemask can take at least 2
i havent gotten 1 tapped besides a few times from shotguns at pointblank or when the host was using ai mods
damage is broken at the moment, you take considerably more damage than you are supposed to with steel/kevlar/broken ceramic armor
ONLY wear ceramic
right now you'll get 4 hit from full health with steel

I used to wear steel but my armor usually doesnāt break anyway since Iām usually shot in the head, arms, or legs
They goofed and made the damage cap (70) happen AFTER the armour reduction, if applicable. So basically, steel reduces all damage by 70%, so it used to be that you would receive whatever amount of damage, and it would be capped to 70 at the most if it was more then that, and THEN it would be multiplied by 0.3 to get the final number. Now it takes the raw damage amount BEFORE the damage cap, multiplies it by 0.3, and then caps it to 70 IF it's more than that AFTER the armour damage reduction. The end result is ceramic is the only functional armour.
Basically, VOID is really, really, REALLY bad at math.

It'll only get worse. Want to know something even funnier? 7.62x39, the SLR-47, and .300blk, are identical in terms of damage, it's just that the SLR-47 has more recoil, and more overpenetration risk. Same with 10mm and .45ACP, 10mm is simply worse.
There is not a single reason to use the SLR-47 or the 10mm MP5 outside of larp, or maybe in the case of the SLR-47 you just really want .300blk damage with the SRO optic.

Yeah I was getting dunked on by some security on Mindjot getting headshotted a bunch of times, even through walls. Fault partly mine to be using an AI mod, but it was to improve the AI behavior not to transform then into John Wick. There were a bunch of security staff weilding these SLR47's.
At this point I just don't even know what throw in the game to fix the problem. There is an AI mod that actually changes the damage values for the calibers, but at this point I don't even know if that will work....

Unsupressed guns, every single one, raises stress by 0.1 per shot. Suppressed weapons only raise the stress value by 0.05 per shot.
So you can shoot twice as much before suspects become more alert, effectively.
F90 is very good suppressed because it has low recoil, and it is a bullpup weapon, so it's no longer than most other rifles without muzzle attachments when it has a suppressor.
what ant the range that your shots are audible and increase stress? irl 300blk is subsonic so it should be quieter than 5.56

Yes I use that mod, you can toggle it on and off with a keybind. Problem is it doesnāt stop them from going to collect evidence if theyāre already on the way to do it, and also thereās no visual indication that the keybind has been activated, so you need to remember if you have the collection on or off.
tbh i just want the ai to not secure or arrest unless they are being covered by a teammate or ordered to (orders include search and secure and directy telling them to arrest/secure this)

g36c has the lowest recoil of all, arn-180 is the lowest recoil .300 blk (slightly higher damage and armor pen), and sa-58 will 1 tap torso in most maps

Has anyone noticed suspects sometimes doing the stumble incap animation but then don't fall down after? Not like the, squat and shake their hands like their stimming animation, but the one where they stumble to the ground, try to get up, and then ragdoll from becoming incapped, typically.
Also I've noticed arterial bleeds just randomly stopping sometimes, not very often, but once or twice I nailed someone in the thigh with a slug and they started spraying blood everywhere, and then decided bleeding was for losers, and just stopped.
It seems to happen with certain cover transition animations/other anims for navigating a specific environment, maybe it breaks the bleeding somehow?

You have 120 seconds before the first civ gets executed so just run in and start hunting. Then I believe that every time you take out a terrorist you get another minute or two added to the countdown before the next civ gets executed. Or something like that. Dont mess with being methodical, just run and gun on it.
I see an issue with why a lot of users aren't using the MMB command menu. It doesn't provide visual aids to the rest of the squad
Like if I issue a stack up command, it doesn't pop up for anyone in the squad. That's an issue for communicability
You have to unlock the maps through completing them in Commander mode. Then you can play them all with the AI.

One thing I've noticed about this game
Players are being forced to act a lot less tactical than you'd expect because of how extremely difficult the AI is
basically, from what I can tell, their high accuracy and threat level is without a doubt, overtuned
And because of that, it's hard to really get any kind of read on them - so a lot of players are defaulting to taking immediate action on contact rather than attempting to force compliance
That is to say, they shoot first before even trying to demand compliance. That's not really how you want a game like RoN to be played, especially when it is so obviously rooted in the same design as the SWAT 3 and 4 games
But I can tell you that RoN is a massive improvement over other...attempts at the tactical shooter in recent memory, especially the one that kept trying to bill itself as the spiritual successor to SWAT 3/4.

Well it's 9mm and it's semi auto. The only real advantage I see is compactness to maneuver around cover, since conseilability and transporting doesn't matter in RoN. So on the Paper it isn't worth choosing over a Rifle or actual smg, but imo feel of a weapon can be even more important than the actual stats in RoN, so if you have fun/feel confident with it, go for it

No full auto means it's really abysmal. Just run an MP9 at this point and pray that VOID moves it to the pistol class where it belongs and models in its missing iron sight slit
It actually deals a lot more damage than the MP9 and also has no recoil, it absolutely doesn't belong in the pistol class because then you wouldn't run ANY other pistol
I doubt that as they're both 9mm but okay. Should still primarily run rifles instead though
And for balancing it against other pistols, just give it a longer ADS time
IMO the low-recoil and 21 round capacity per mag would instantly make it my go-to regardless of how slow they make the ADS
Fair considering point shooting is a thing. Still it has no business being in the SMG category, and it can use P320 mags so you can knock it down to 17 rounds a mag if you want to balance it
ADS time also doesn't realllyy.. matter in RoN? Most players shouldn't at least be playing like a large map PVP game, where most of the time you won't be ADS. At least when I approach an open door, I'm already ADSing before I can even see into the room to pie it
I like it as a primary and it certainly has more benefits than normal pistols, but I don't really care at the end of the day, it's fun either way

Having a lot of temporary objects like that can cause the game to lag on lesser-built systems. So that should be a slider option under Graphics, if Void ever feels like it

Elevator start, wedge the bottom floor start clearing the top room by room wedging the fire escape door as you pass it, and when you reach the big room with the fire place, wedge both doors and back track to the elevator and unwedge the bottom door. Wedge the door at the end of the hallway this time and clear through the rooms and finish by the balcony one

Without wedges you could pretty much do the same but don't be surprised if you're attacked from behind
If you're playing with ai teammates then you can give them the wedges
Could always instead do the roof entry and just try and clear the top floor first and then the second
You just run more risk of suspects running and flanking without wedging doors
Though rn they do like to just ignore the wedges and just open the doors anyways at times

And even so it would just play better if suspects had to actually open doors and didn't just automatically know if they were locked
I want to wedge a door and have a suspect try and flee through it just to get stuck trying to open it
At that point either fighting back or surrendering with nowhere to go
They can open locked doors too
With the same bug as the wedge I think
Plus in some circumstances they just open it normally. Thereās a true false option for that int he custom map tools, but idk how it works exactly
It makes sense to some degree that if they locked it, they can unlock it too. But there out to be an audio cue and animation for it

I forget if it was north/south side I start on, but it's the one with a small initial room.
Using both AI teams to breach/clear rooms while while you do others solo.
Lots of yelling. Helps indicate where NPCs are.
Having 1 lethal & 1 LTL per squad helps guarantee you get your 5 arrests.
Do as little manual work as you can. Use your AI to arrest, breach, flashbang, etc. whenever you can. I find this saves time.
Other than that, idk what to tell ya. Good luck.

3 killed and 1 survived with me, 2 got shot down and the other one went head first and got mag dumped on all angles
Thinking of stupid AI behaviors. I almost never see anyone mention the auto-detain and auto-evidence bagging. That behavior gets the AI killed and needs some changing

People complained that they had to micromanage the swat even more compared to now, especially evidence gathering

You used to have to select the menu, then go down to evidence, and tell them to individually bag every item that they were in range of
T'was no command to search and secure

The search & secure is fine, I'm talking about when they just decide 100% on their own to go and grab something in the middle of a room that baddies have LOS on

It may have been just been something a designer was ingesting when they were making the map, I don't think it was intended as a joke.
Though I believe actual visible waypoints was on the wishboard for accessibility features.
Should add it in when possible, though. Would help immensely when I'm commanding a squad, or being part of a team element

Car dearlership mission, put a bulelt into a suspect shooting me, he died, and it overpenned into the second suspect behind him. That one was screaming for a good while
I got the jump on an ai and shot him dead center twice but the beanbag missed. He shoots me once I instantly fucking die. I hate beanbags so damn much. Worthless fucking gun

I'm not a good shot but I'm certain it wasn't a skill issue. He was standing still, I carefully aimed that shot, and the reticle was aimed right at center mass. It's genuinely frustrating how unreliable this thing is since the only other alternative is a pepperball that takes 2-3 seconds to actually kick in
