i went for the ones i thought would make coolest fusions, the ones with the most versatile bodies ad faces and neat designs. i've seen a lot of really cool creative litwick line fusions, for instance

you can buy fusion repel before wild fusions appear in the game, i think that should be fixed
(4) A Fusion can have only the first Ability of either of its halves (A Rattata/Rhyhorn could have Run Away or Lightningrod, but never Guts or Rock Head). The ability a fusion will have is difficult to predict.
Is it possible to change this? I'm assuming it's a engine limitation that prevents you from having 4 potential abilities (6 with hidden ones) to chose from.
Instead, perhaps have the head/body decide the ability?
Heads carry over their 1st ability.
Bodys carry over their 2nd ability.
Example:
A Chinkrow is a Chinchou head and Murkrow body.
It could either have Volt Absorb or Super Lucky.
A murkchou is a Murkrow Head, and a Chinchou body.
It could either have Illuminate or Insomnia.
That way, all abilities have a potential to be used.

Though, how does that work with already caught pokemon?
So, a few fusions were re-arranged type wise. Like Magnemite line fuses as a steel/lightning instead of lightning steel, can the same be done for the Ralts line if ralts makes it in (fuse as Fairy/Psychic)? We already have a high powered psychic head with Alakazam. Not such with fairy., and not many will fuse Gardevoir for the body (aside from asthetics, which makes this a hard call, because what the fusion looks like is a heavy factor as well).
I hope everyone has been keeping in mind that Meditite is the only way we get fusions with Pure Power

I don't think that voting on "pokemon line" or starters or option with lot of pokemon or voted for pokemon that don't evolve will make a difference at the end. Think of like like this, maybe there is 30 spot to fulffill(I choose this number randomly to make my point), 30 spot could be 10 line of pokemon that evolve twice, or 15 that evolve once, ot 30 stand alone. of a mix of those. It doesn't mean that it will be 30 option with multiple pokemon in it each. so maybe starter can be 9 spot by themself and not 1 spot.
either way, legendary are "cool" but there are late game (sometime even post game) and there is no "online battle" feature so it's pretty useless to get them.

So, say we got 6v6 Trainer house to test out your full teams, would you guys want it as it is now, just with 6 random pokemon, or would you want some alterations like...
A) A minimum starting BST to get rid of basic unevolved fusions (450 or so? Baring legends ofc).
B) A Higher starting maximum, for that one super powered fusion to appear thats stronger than the others.
C) Randomized EV training for the pokemon you fight against (If its possible)
D) Randomized items per pokemon from a select pool?
My suggestion is including more ghost types. Gen 2 doesnt introduce any more. Obviously, fusion makes thousands possible... but theres some serious artistic potential being missed out on

My initial idea: npc who mentions that Eevee evolves with stones instead of other methods.
Advanced idea: in the viridian city schoolhouse, you can take a quiz about all the evolutions this game changes. The teacher has all the answers in one of her dialogue options, and you get a thing if you pass the quiz. Somebody in viridian city will say "hey, make sure to go check out the school, you might learn something." so players are less likely to overlook the school.

yeah I can but I can't save the game - basically if I close CrossOver I have to re-execute the .exe file and it loses all of my progress . I have to keep the file running until I complete the game. Also the only decent pc-mac emulator is something you need to pay for. I'm currently on a trail that ends in 2 weeks

I don't know how feasible this would be, but more diverse attack animations would be a huge improvement. A lot of times it seems like there's only one animation per type, and often the animation that plays has nothing whatsoever to do with what the attack is, which breaks suspension if disbelief for me
Personally I think if the level gaps between gyms stay as they are, the exp share should act like it does in newer games. It would seem less like a grind just to bridge that gap
There really should be a way to remove any item you have on your pokemon when you trade them. If it's an item you accidentally forgot to take off and can't be reobtained, well, it's gone forever.
Can the saving in the Pokemon Center happen after the healing instead? Its a bit annoying to soft-reset and then heal up again.

(Mostly to go along with the previous suggestion. The automatic generation is amazing in this game, but I think that we have enough of a community that crowdsourcing things like sprites and Pokédex entries is a real option, at least for some Pokémon)
I believe the last version of the 3.0 download came with an extra folder containing many of the custom sprites that existed at the time. When 4.0 is officialized, it will probably come with custom sprites (in a separate folder)

3.0 sprite system used just one big folder, so it wasn't a problem, but I suppose that is inconvenient for 4.0
So... this is probably wrong, because I’ve made several assumptions and I don’t know much about programming, but I think I might have and idea for how to get around the sprite limit, so I’m going to post it just in case
See, one idea floated was to save bodies and heads as separate images and combine them as needed, so fewer sprites we required
I’m assuming the problem with that was that you’d need the game to be able to recolor each body on the fly to match each head
Which is probably beyond the scope of the game’s engine
But:
Assuming that the issue it total data size, not the number of files:
Sprites are currently saved as 288x288, but are only 96x96 pixels wide
Or at least, bodies are. The heads are scaled up or down to fit the bodies
That’s why the extra file size, so that the head pixels can be smaller
But!
If you saved one body sprite for every current fused sprite, so they already had the correct colors
So, the same number of sprites as now
You could save them as 96x96, instead of 288x288
1/3rd the size
And then the heads could be scaled within the game itself
And we know the game can resized sprites, because back sprites in 4.0 are larger despite being the same file

Well i dont rly know too much about programming it may work but such image files with multiple images in them tend to be either frames in an animated sprite or overworld sprites

increase the rate of fishing up boots, its taking 14 months to do this stupid sidequest, and when i do get it, i will probably get a bug gem or some useless item, i have no idea why its impossible to get a boot, this doesnt make the game fun, an intriguing side quest that requires skill, or even any slight amount of joy to gain from it, please, this is unbearable

So i finished my first play through in non random mode and wanted to leave suggestions. First of i really enjoyd this play through and found the idea gripping and well executed, thus, this is only a list of things i found unpleasant, as listing all the things i liked would take to long :)
Story:
- giovanni and his mewtwo i found at some points hard to understand. Mewtwo seems to be obidient throughout the game but just escapes after the fusing attempt. It would be nice to get some explanation somewhere, that it actually dislikes giovanni. In one of the battles he doesnt even use it without any clue why.
- When going for the legendary bird, it is emphsized that the player really has to be quick to get the first legendary bird. then we arrive and its actually the last one needed. i would be good to mention this in the dialog
- maybe i missed this one, but why is Team rocket even interested in fusing wild pokemon?
- giovannies last dialog as gim leader is something in the lines of: "you didnt expect me to be here right?" just a few seconds he told ous where to find him in crimson city
- the drunk man in viridian at the beginning could give some hint on how to progress the story. its unlikely to remove him by randomly defeating our rival
Difficulty:
While i enjoy a challenge the level of difficulty was very different for various encounters. Its ok to present challenge, but simultaniously those fights force the player to play properly, which makes you win all the other battles while sleepwalking and makes getting to next gym leader kinda boring. I'd say either tune down a few fights (this gastly/kangastan comes to mind) or tune up everythign else. I mean, gym leader pokes at the end are 20lvl above the other trainers and we're supposed to beat those.

Something has to be done here, but i think its already a well discussed matter and i couldn't tell you guys something new here
wild encounter:
- could use some more diversity
- personal preference here: why not even put larvitar and the like as rare encounters in some early caves. why the cool pokemon are only avaible at the end, was always beeyond me
trainer encounter:
this game has way to many weezing and poison types in generall

Okay, found an easy formula to fix Huge Power and Pure Power, since the next update is likely to give fusions access to Marill's second ability.
PhysicalAttackDamageMultiplier = (180 - 5400/(BaseAtk+30)) / BaseAtk
at BaseAtk 60, the multiplier is 2, which matches the ability's current effect on Medicham exactly
at BaseAtk 50, the multiplier is 2.25, which gives Azumarill an effective BaseAtk of 113, buffed a bit from its traditional 100.
Most importantly, at BaseAtk 106 (Azumarill/Dragonite or Azumarill/Tyranitar), the muliplier is 1.324, giving an effective BaseAtk stat of 140. Which is still better than either Dragonite or Tyranitar without being completely unstoppable.

This is a little extreme, but I think Surf should be available after Koga's gym instead of Sabrina's. It seems harsh to hide the sheer amount of content it unlocks behind Silph. Co AND Sabrina, and basically every trainer you need surf to reach is leveled in the upper 30s, which is waaaay below your team post-sabrina, and frankly post-koga too.
I do agree with that or could increase the levels of some of those trainers

I guess 25% is a little too much and infused mons would get racked,but
Without boosts the best stats always get lowered and that was the fun part of the game,at least for me
Like,I have a Magnezone and Rapidash fusion,with the boost they both had benefits from,like,108 speed with 135 speed.atk.That's really god
And now..it's just a 90 speed with 113 sp.atk. It get's a little bit of the fun out of it for me

Yeah but I mean,if you combine 2 mons and and both lose a chunk of their stats without really gaining much in the others it doesn't really make sense to me. The fact that the head gets those 3 stats and the body the other 3 was made for a reason,to make the mons better,at this point if there are no boost just take the stats without changing them and swap them,like instead of the head x0.66 + the body x0.33 just swap the stats of the head in Ps,Sp.Atk and Sp.Red with the body's ones. In this case the mons wouldn't lose their positives. That's why I'm saying to at least give them 10-15% boosts so they can get a little bit higher stats.
Fusions are still way better than unfused ones. Better typings and better movepools.

The whole point of a fusion as well is to be a combination of both pokemon, so it makes sense to combine stats rather than simply splitting them up. I haven't had an issue with any fusions being too weak. Typing combinations have a huge advantage

A suggestion could be to make the boost optional from the start (very much like random. you chose at the begining). That way, the player can chose his poison. Easyer, more impressive game because mons became really strong. Or slightly Harder, more fair game.

A suggestion that might be interesting is having doubled typing. When this happens it would essentially double the weaknesses of the first type, making it x4 weak or x4 resistant to all of it's normal types. This allows the person to easily keep track of it's weaknesses while also increasing it's resistances. But the only way to obtain a doubled type is when two mono-typed pokemon of the same type are fused together. For example, a Koffing and an Ekans would result in a double poison type. It would sort of make them special, but not completely rare as there are plenty of mono-type pokemon. ESPECIALLY normal types.

A few days back people were talking about making a boost for the highest stat of each part of a fusion, but it was going to make the game too easy. I like the idea of it, so to make it more balanced you could make both parts of the fusion have their highest stat raised by 10% while also having their two lowest stats lowered by 6%. That would keep the game from becoming too unbalanced and also give another layer of depth to fusions.

so it does not change the difficulty of the game

it does not change the difficulty if both mons (yours and the enemys) gain the same amount of stats from it.
if you boost stats by a %value, the fusions that will profit the most from it are the ones that are based off of mons with high bst, aka fusions that are already good. (it also may make mixed attackstat mons worse)
i think the best would be to apply a fixed amount of stats instead. so low bst mons/fusions profit more from it (%-wise).
or apply a higher boost to lower bst mons/fusions. not sure if something like that is possible though
(^though this may lead to fusions, that are good because of abilities/movesets and not raw stats, becoming too strong. like Chansey&Blissey/Ditto for example)

And if my mon gets 10%% boost in speed and sp.def and the other in def and HP I don't know if the mons have the same advantage.
