What I find interesting is the tendency for writers to dismiss accidental powers as glitches. Such as Diamondhead having exploding shards, or lifting those giant diamonds from the ground when he kicked Vilgax's ass in Alien Force
Or like Jetray being able to travel through hyperspace
These were all written off as glitches that were later fixed
Which I think is sad not just because of the cool powers lost but because they did that as an offscreen hand-wave thing
We could have had a whole arc of Ben not fixing a glitchy Omnitrix because he wanted the cool new stronger alien powers

The thing is, Puri Puri Prisoner and Darkshine are supposed to be making fun of hero archetypes. The whole of OPM is satire: Genos is making fun of self-sacrificing “whatever it takes” superheroes, Saitama is a hero at the end of his hero career that’s trying to start over from the beginning, Darkshine is a play on Saitama himself with far more shallow reasoning (wanting to win instead of wanting to be challenged).
Compared to Mob Psycho which is built less like satire and more like a traditional story with well-rounded characters and a more original narrative.
Granted, I love them both. lol But yeah, not everyone has the same sense of humor. I find Puri Puri Prisoner funnier than Darkshine, like them both less than other characters like Bang and Genos. They’re there for the visual gags and their own character development (which Darkshine gets better development than Prisoner imo).
