Predate is actually the proper terminology, I'm unsure if I'd change it because readers should be able to look that word up. If there are TOO many words that people won't know in an entry, or if words are super specific and unlikely to be used in any other scenario, that's often too specific, but predate is merely an uncommon but accurate word for it.

I'm trying to think of an entry for Haunter/Kangaskhan, inspired by this dex entry for Ghastly/Kangaskhan.

Haunter/Kangaskhan has the parent and child both looking a little like Haunter and the child is back in the pouch, so I was thinking something along the lines of Unable to bear losing its child, Kangaskhan sometimes sacrifices some of its life force so its child can come back. I feel like it should be a little longer, so what else could I say or how else could I say it?

My friend just gave me a very interesting idea for the Gengar fusion: the baby has a hole in its chest because it leaves its heart in the parent's pouch so it can reform if it's defeated in battle. Maybe you could include that somehow?

Some fusiondex pages will have multiple custom sprites denoted by a, b, and so on at the end of the # entry. Those will get specified that way

Here’s my Mantine/Lombre entry idea:
Though aquatic, it hunts for food on land. It carries water to keep its Remoraid companion moist until it’s time to shoot down its prey with water attacks.

The carrying water thing fits the other design while the shooting thing fits mine. (I imagine my version has a holster-like pocket of water on its leg)

It doesn't really though. Two hard, emphasized syllables at the start of the word you suggested is really difficult and awkward. Catastropika is literally saying catastrophe and instead of the FEE you just say PIKA. It's slightly more awkward than the base word, but it's not a huge challenge phonetically.

I don't think the problem is whether it's a stretch or not, it's whether it's conflicting with canon lore or not.

If there were no fusions when the Teleporter was made, then this entry would have to be rejected for not fitting with the continuum.

Ultimately, decisions about world lore are primarily up to Frogman and staff, not to Unowns and dex authors

I would advise changing the ending of the first sentence to something like "moving with elegance" or "renowned for its grace". "The best of its kind" isn't as much as description as a title/summary, and it's hard to quantify a singular "best" in a field of over 250,000, so we try to advise against singular-focus claims.

Because you used POKENAME as a description, that then causes the subject of the main clause "It" to refer back to POKENAME, so the purpose of the clause it to set up a description that connects two ideas into one sentence through additional information. There's a lot more to break down like prepositions and all that, but the point is that the format of clauses are usually different in writing than conversation. I assume the intention of the ending of the first sentence is to add to the idea of "Looking perfect", same as how I would say "My fellow Unown, Izik." The difference is how it refers back to subjects. If you break down the focus of the sentence without the preposition "about looking perfect", you get "It is meticulous, no feather out of place." And while it technically builds the same picture, it's not keeping that same active pace as the start of the sentence. That's why I tend to open clauses like this with clarifying verbs that open a new preposition, like "making sure that no feather is out of place."

There are other solutions or strategies, and I'm sorry if this is a lot to process, it's just that I wasn't quite sure of the words in the first entry and wanted to go a bit more in-depth since I noticed a pattern.

So the weird thing about words like "tends to" or "often" or "usually" is that they kinda act as filler words that aren't as concrete, even if their intention is to signify a schedule or a frequency. It's a weird thing I fall into myself as well, but what helps me is asking why there would be that quantifier to help specify. For example, you could effectively trim the first sentence to "POKENAME uses its anger issues as inspiration for its music." But if you want to specify that it's an occasional occurrence, you can build on the concept a bit to make it something that POKENAME struggles with or works on.

The first sentence is really good and I like the intention/concept, but your usage of "In particular" doesn't make much sense, as you are introducing a new idea in the second sentence, not clarifying the previous sentence.

Its not strictly forbidden, but it is recommended that you try and avoid outright mentioning death. like in the games, the Pokedex kinda insinuates it by saying things like stealing souls or draining life force, but if you're going for something more physical, I think fainting would be more fitting.
