Honestly coming into a speedrun channel for a game that has been run for years and just declaring a new category isn't going to get you far, even if it's a good idea

Most meme categories aren't fun because of the category, they're fun because they're community involvement. Being a part of the community is the important part of speedrunning for what I would imagine is most people here.

#

So just going "All Eggs%" isn't going to go very far, unless you're actually a part of the community.

You hold right through the entire room and minihop when you reach the grass, and then you full hop over the first goam, pogo off the second goam, and pogo on either the spikes or the vengefly if it spawns low

It takes some time to learn but it shouldnt be too hard, and if I recall correctly the cycle is a little bit different on other patches but I don't know too much

I usually suggest All Skills to newer runners, but if you're an absolute beginner and feel like you're struggling with things like the Salubra to blue lake shade skip, that's just going to require practice.

Yup. Practise makes perfect after all. I used to struggle with ismas skip in 112 but now I can get it nearly always first try so download debug and make use of savestates cuz theyre so useful

You can adjust them yourself tbh, it’s a good thing to learn to do at least once

All you have to do is to go into edit splits, then add/subtract/change splits, and then configure the correct autosplitter points to match!

Whether or not tech is nmg is decided by the community. Most things are pretty obvious like going out of bounds, duping rooms, main menu storage, etc. being major glitches. For other things there are sometimes community discussions and decisions made by the src mods on whether or not something is nmg. Like televator or elevator wall cling storage for example

NMG was originally glitchless, but:

Actually doing a glitchless run of this game is difficult, since there are so many small glitches that can happen.
Runners wanted to continue to use certain tech in their runs that would probably be considered a glitch strictly speaking, like inventory dropping.
Glitchless rules are completely arbitrary anyway, there's often no consistent way to decide what is a glitch or not.

I still do think that glitches caused by the game just running shouldn't be counted against a glitchless run but I also understand the wanting to keep using small things for slight time saves. Though I still think that it makes it much more arbitrary on what is allowed and what isn't.

something to consider is that when you do the jump and dash before the crystal dash, you want to jump as little as possible. The higher you jump, the faster you will be moving when you actually need to time your dash. This means its harder to time and also less consistent than just tapping jump than trying to hold your jump the same height everytime.

You can separate it into three distinct actions

1: Wall clinging at the correct height
2: C-Dashing at the correct time
3: Jumping at the other end

You can start by just doing the first one over and over. Just jump back off the wall every time, and try to get it where you don't slide down at all, and obviously you don't dunk into the acid.

For the second part, you can practice on any wall. Dash onto a wall, then start a C-Dash without losing any height.... Over and over.

The last part is something you can actually practice at QGA itself once you have the other parts down.

Without giving exact timings, and coming from somebody who's sort of winging it:

I generally let a couple of pillars happen far away ish as I slowly approach, then as the third one is about to spawn rush over. The third one will be still out of the way.

I jump up to get a nail hit or two and a fluke, then as the fourth pillar happens, dash through, turn around, and get more nail hits and flukes.

For 1221 fights with all charms etc, at least.

Console is the same as current patch for pc for the most part so study those runs
Switch is the most optimized console so watch those runs for the variations. Some things end up faster or slower because of the rta timing. For example some quitouts lose time on console.
Be prepared for input delay because in hk, higher fps = better input responsiveness and 60 is looooow

fwiw we don't even operate in this server anymore, you can join the speedrunning server from the speedrun.com page

nothing is role locked there, but you can still be blue when you have a verified run

theyre probably going to remove the color on this role eventually here so people won't ask anymore.

Not really but it shows progress and if hes succeeded in breaking what was, a hard barrier for him/her, then thats good. Large barrier would probs be 2:20/10 imo

if youre doing 2 mantis, get your dash under that ceiling as high as possible. Then try to copy every movement exactly

that way, the mantis will be lured to the exact position

if you arent comfortable with doing pogo dash pogo dash

#

you can do two pogos on the right mantis after pogoing the left mantis once

#

you can also try to go to the right instead of the left since its a lower platform

No need to learn it if ur struggling just go around. Even with a city at 45 it doesnt really matter as 5hrs is waaay more lenient than you'd think (since ur trying to get the cheevo)

Thank you very much for responding! I do 2 Mantis. Biggest issue I have is how much they move. sometimes I get the stuck somewhere or they are too high to pogo on. I'll try to dash closer to the ceiling and if I can't do it I'll just look up more tutorials I guess

in save files, delete debugmod.globalsettings.json & the .bak with the same name

if your issue is in game bindings you can't change you should clear registry, there is a guide on how to do so on speedrun.com
