It's fine, not a tragedy :) But it's an asynchronous communication channel, so you can't expect people to go back to you instantly

but yeah my best advice is to do one of two things.
- Use color key in obs to key out a flat background color from livesplit. Place the background image under that as a normal image in obs, that way you can control the colors and opacity manually without livesplit. This is what I and many other runners do.
- Turn down the opacity manually in livesplit. You really don't want a background to be too contrasty or it'll be hard to read the words. You want it to be kind of dark. You need to consider the corruption that naturally comes from streaming, even at 720p (affiliates) and 1080p (partners)

that is a new addition that is mostly for meme runs. for example aluba% where you end killing an aluba after hornet 1, it used to have to be manually split because it wouldn't end the timer even if it was the last split
because in full game runs the end triggering autosplits are on any of the normal endings
so if you're not ending on a real ending, it's best to have that box ticked

if you're using debug you can use save states to practice segments, then just save quit before the end. another important point is that runs will need to be done from a clean file so that the lever in the middle isn't hit

The above works. The way I do it is:
Walk to the edge of the first platform. Neutral jump and neutral dash onto the second platform.
Jump and fireball.
Jump and dash left to C-Dash off the wall. When you stop and start to fall. Neutral dash.
Now you just C-Dash and jump onto the platform you hit until you reach the end.

This is a little slower, but incredibly difficult to get wrong.
The fast route scares the hell out of me.

Sometimes the hud won't update to unbroken if you go back to a previous state where it wasn't but it still works like it should. I dont know specifically what causes it

No. Though now that I think about it, I may know the issue actually. I tried to install an invincibility mod so I could practice that dark room without having to die and run back so often, couldn't get it to work, and removed it. I'll bet thats probably it.

i don't think you have .NET framework installed on your computer, I can't remember if the depot downloader uses .NET framework or .NET core, but the video probably has a link to installing .NET somewhere

its an update of wiinusoft which did the same thing for wii u pro controller
ive used it before but honestly xbox might be better just to avoid using a wireless controller. my switch controller would drop connection p often

when i realize partway through the run its got some minor drift on the left joystick
i thought no biggy, i'll just swap once i reset

Hey everyone. The Speedrun achievements got me interested in trying my hand at an actual speedrun (rather than just a 'fast playthrough'). I've watched fireb0rn and others often enough, and read a few guides, but one thing I've yet to fully understand: why downpatch? What are the actually relevant differences between current patch and 1.2.2.1? I checked the patch notes, and 1.2.2.2 mentions "Fixed issue where lever could be hit through a wall". That might refer to the skip in Lurien's tower? But that's the only relevant thing I could find.
I don't necessarily want to get anywhere near WR, but I would still like to get a good speedrun in. Are things like the greenpath, baldur, acid and shade skips still possible? Anything I should know, or any notable things that -don't- work? (Before I spend hours practicing things that aren't actually possible...)
