Featured Servers
Unfortunately, we are removing #featured-servers indefinitely, as it did not achieve the goals that we had originally envisioned for the channel.

Staff Ping PSA
Additionally, we wanted to put out a PSA regarding Staff pings and making reports. We want to be clear that we do not discourage Staff pings, nor will you get in trouble for correct usage of the Staff ping; however, we ask that if you need to make a non-urgent report, please send it to @rigid wave! Please remember to include as much relevant information as you can, such as the username of the person you are reporting, their user ID, a screenshot of the rule-breaking content, and why you believe it may violate the rules. We still ask you to use the Staff ping if there is an emergency, such as excessive spamming or NSFW content. Thank you for helping us keep the server clean and fun environment!

Hello Terrarians!
Are you all as excited for Journey's End as we are? To prepare for the upcoming surge of new users coming into the Discord, we will be revamping our permission roles in order to make the server more accessible to new users, including the removal of levels and experience on profiles. We will be replacing all 5 current individual permission roles with just one permission role. We will not reveal the exact criteria, nor will you be able to check your progress towards the role, but the role will be earnable by just chatting in the server. We will be shifting nickname permissions and voice chat permissions back down to everyone, while the new role will allow you to upload files, embed links, use the music bot, edit your bio, and use the "Go Live" Discord feature. Reaction permissions will be temporarily disabled for server stability issues, but will be re-evaluated later. In addition, we are also adding a voice channel that requires the new role to join. Everyone who is currently eligible for the role will automatically be given it. Finally, we have changed the xp! bot command prefix to card! bot command prefix. Please check the pins in #bot-commands for a list of updated commands.

Please note that Prize Points will still be given for chatting at the same rate as it was previously, and Nitro Boosters will receive the same additional Prize Points rate as before!

We're excited to announce an Alliance trivia bot that we will be adding to the server for testing in regards to an unannounced project. You also will not earn any prize points by participating in this test.

What is this all about?
Basically a monthly or quarterly trivia game will take place between the Terraria Official Discord server and the Terraria Community Team Discord server! The Alliance Trivia Bot will ask game trivia questions every 2 minutes in #alliance-events. If a previous question was answered quickly, it will only take 30 seconds before the next question is asked. Whoever answers fastest gets a point for their server, and if you answer within 1 second of each other, both servers get a point.

Hello Terrarians, due to how large our server is getting, we are approaching our total user cap. To make room for new users (and improve overall stability of the server) we will be pruning server members who have not logged onto their discord account in 30 days.

In the event you are pruned, you will more than likely retain your Prize Points. However, due to potential unforeseen circumstances we cannot 100% guarantee that your Prize Points will be unaffected.

Additionally, just logging in to your discord account is enough to not be pruned. You do not need to send messages in the Terraria Discord to be safe from prune.

We are excited to announce a fun collaboration event between the Overwatch and Terraria communities! As we make our way into Summer, we are hosting another Vanity Contest! The theme will be Ocean, so pack your swimsuits and explore the vast beautiful blue seas! To enter, you can send your finished vanity submissions to the @regal cloak. The deadline is on June 19 at 12:00 AM PST / 7:00 AM GMT. We will determine the winners and release the results shortly after the submission period.

Vanity Contest Ruleset

Your submission must be Ocean-themed, otherwise it will not be accepted.
Characters should be submitted with a gemspark block background of your choosing, the gemspark must consist of one solid color.
Editing using image editing software is not allowed (direct screenshots only!).
Try to avoid submitting your character wearing a normal full set of undyed armor. Creativity is key!
Modded content is not allowed.
Include a name for your costume when submitting!
Your character's costume should stand out on its own, without the help of any additional effects (including, but not limited to: summons, pets, particles, mounts, or environmental features).
Only one submission per user.
Submission must follow all server rules.

We are excited to announce the new Terraria Writing Contest event! The magical universe of Terraria is a land filled with secrets and untold stories. The responsibility to retell these stories now falls into your hands! Create a story using at least one of the three topics:

Describe the ongoing conflict of the Corruption or Crimson against the Hallow
Write about what the friendly NPCs do when the player isn't around
Retell the story of the Broken Hero Sword

Prizes
1st Place: 7,500 prize points
2nd Place: 5,000 prize points
3rd Place: 3,000 prize points

Terraria Writing Contest Rules

Submissions must be original
Submissions must be at least 250 words and at most 750 words
Submissions must follow Server Rules
Submissions must have at least one topic from above
Only one submission per user

Submissions will open on July 8th at 8pm EST and close on July 15th at 8pm EST. To submit your entry, place it in a Google Doc and send the link of the doc to @regal cloak with the name of the story. Make sure the document is viewable by those with the link.

Hello Terrarians! With the success of the previous iteration, we decided to host a Super Smash Brothers Ultimate tournament on Sunday, July 19 at 7:00 AM PDT!

Registration:
Registration begins starting now. You can register anytime from now, up until Sunday, July 19 at 6:00 AM PDT (1 hour before the tournament starts). You can register by sending a DM to Submission Bot with your Switch Friend Code.

Tournament Day:
On the day of the tournament, you will be required to check in. You can check in anytime between an hour before the tournament, up until 15 minutes before the tournament begins (6:00-6:45 AM PDT). If you do not check-in during this period, you will be disqualified from the tournament.

Process:
During the tournament, you will do your assigned matches and both players will report the match results. You can begin your matches once a Staff member or Event Coordinator tells you that you can. The ruleset will be following the standard SSBU tournament ruleset: https://www.ssbwiki.com/Tournament_rulesets_(SSBU). We will be streaming some of the matches throughout the tournament, as well as all of the top 4 matches.

Please note, this tournament will have no prizes! It will only be for fun.

We are excited to announce a fun collaboration event between the Anime Soul ASchikabrows and Terraria communities! Starting July 18 at 10PM PST in both communities we are going to have an Anime Soul x Terraria content submission event. tct1010

There will be a channel in both the Terraria and Anime Soul servers for participants to submit their entries. The rules are simple: create fan art or other content depicting both Anime and Terraria themes. Everyone will have until July 25 at 10PM PST to submit their entry to the event. You only need to submit your entry in one server. After all submissions have been received we will then add them to a Google form and open voting to the Discord servers and subreddits of both communities. Voting will also last a week. tctVaultBoyOK

What are Prize Points?
Prize Points are used to purchase game codes, signed Terraria merchandise, and server roles from our Prize Merchant Bot! You can view the Prize Points shop in #bot-commands by using the shp!viewshop command.

Vanity Contest Prizes:

Vanity Contest Rules:

Characters should be submitted with a Gemspark block background of your choosing, the Gemspark must consist of one solid color.
Editing using image editing software is not allowed (direct screenshots only!).
Try to avoid submitting your character wearing a normal full set of undyed armor.
Modded content is not allowed.
Include a name for your costume when submitting!
Your character's costume should stand out on its own, without the help of any additional effects (including, but not limited to: summons, pets, particles, mounts, or environmental features).
Only one submission per user.
Submission must follow all server rules.

We have made a few updates to the server rules.
The main difference is that we created a new rule regarding spoilers and how we will be handling them.

The new spoiler rule is as follows:
4. Spoilers should be labeled appropriately using Discord’s built-in formatting, sufficiently disclosing what topic is being covered. Repeated spoiler tag usage unrelated to its intended purpose violates rule 3.

Appropriate spoiler tag usage example:
Terraria Spoiler ||The Guide dies||

Which means you can use them for purposes other than actual spoilers, such as jokes, as long as you follow the other rules including not using them excessively.

Another change is for rule 9 which now also prohibits media that causes non-standard behavior, such as broken playback time length. Please make sure to review the other changes in the #rules channel!

We would also like to remind everyone of rules relating to the #multimedia channel from when it was first introduced.
Content that is very low-effort (disturbing cursed memes, nonsensical memes, copy-pastas, ASCII art, etc.) or excessive media dumping within a short period is not allowed.

Additionally, we have decided to rename the terraria-creative channel to #terraria-creations. And we have slightly modified the guidelines in #archive-ltp to no longer allow excessively long messages. This should hopefully make it easier to browse and find people to play with!

And as always make sure to ping the Staff role or report rule-breaking behavior to us via @rigid wave BunnyBaguette

What is Starboard?
Starboard is your one stop shop for community messages that staff members find funny and/or interesting (though anything can theoretically get onto starboard 😉)

How do I get onto Starboard?
Your message will be added to Starboard if a staff member adds a FallenStar to your message, it will then be carried by our hard working bot army and delivered to the #fallen-starboard channel on prime display for all to see!
(Also we've added a emote to go along with the new #fallen-starboard addition)

Additionally, most funny pins you see in our channels will now instead be pushed to the #fallen-starboard to avoid pin clutter and entirely circumvent any pin limits mmsmug2

We are excited to announce a fun collaboration event between the r/Pokemon pikagasp and Terraria communities! Starting February 15 at 12PM PST in both communities we are going to have a Pokemon x Terraria content submission event. tct1010

There will be a channel in both the r/Pokemon and Terraria servers for participants to submit their entries. The rules are simple: create fan art or other content depicting both Pokemon and Terraria themes. Everyone will have until March 15 at 12PM PST to submit their entry to the event. You only need to submit your entry in one server. After all submissions have been received we will then add them to a Google form and open voting to the Discord servers and subreddits of both communities. Voting will also last a week. Alliance Trivia Update

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that discord.gg/lol and discord.gg/acnh have joined the Alliance Bot network! Please put your hands together in welcoming these incredible communities to this exciting community feature! You probably remember them from the awesome joint alliance events we have held in the past.
Calling all Trivia lovers! This Tuesday February 9 at around 2PM and 5PM PST we are going to begin the Alliance Bot battles with the r/League of Legends and Animal Crossing Discord servers.
Reminder that we will be rolling out the Alliance Bot server leaderboard soon so be prepared for that! The leaderboards will be keeping track of server stats in these alliance trivia matches. However, we are planning on resetting the stats shortly after rolling them out to give all the new servers a chance to practice and get use to these trivia battles. We feel this is far more fair since we are conditioned with these trivia battles.
All of the servers who join the Alliance Bot network will battle all of the other servers within the Alliance Bot network in a persistent season. As the Alliance Bot network expands, all participating servers will face an increasing list of servers ready to battle.
Check out #alliance-events on Tuesday to try your hand at answering trivia questions and help us rise in the rankings against other servers! Have fun!

This scam consists of users checking your Discord connections to find your Steam account name, then messaging you to say that they mistakenly reported your account. They will then direct you to a fake Steam Staff member in an attempt to get your password, and steal your account.

If a user messages you saying that they accidentally reported your Steam account, just block them, and report them to both @rigid wave and Discord's Trust and Safety team.

You will notice that everyone with the Alliance role now has access to the #alliance-chat channel 🥳 .

We are participating in a weekend Alliance chat trial to determine if the Alliance chat is a great fit with our community. After the weekend we will determine if it is best to maintain access or remove access. This is a global Alliance channel where messages are shared with many other Discord servers in our Alliance. The messages posted in this Alliance chat channel are shared with all of the other servers who have the Alliance chat channel on their server.

You can only chat in this channel if you have a Verified Title.

If you have the Alliance role then you can send a message to @neat onyx and request Verification to chat in the Alliance chat channel. Once you are Verified then you can chat in the Global Alliance chat channel.

For those who are Verified please only use your new powers to have productive conversations and avoid spam of any kind. We want to read your thoughtful opinions on various topics. Please keep in mind that we are going to be monitoring the Alliance chats for spam, toxicity, and any attempts to derail conversations. Chatting perms can be revoked by moderators who feel Verified members are not proactively contributing to the global Alliance chat.

In addition, we currently have an Alliance Summer themed art event scheduled for June 19. There are many awesome servers involved. Announcements related to this event will be going out over the next week. We are definitely looking for feedback for the event and feedback on a wide range of other topics.

Keep in mind that there is an XP system built into the Alliance chat. We will determine in the future if this Alliance chat XP system will be tied to other Alliance perks and prizes.

We are excited to announce a fun Alliance collaboration event starting June 19 at 12PM PST. Get ready for a Summer themed art submission event!

There will be a channel in all participating Alliance servers for participants to submit their entries. The rules are simple: create Summer themed art that can also incorporate the theme of your community as well. Everyone will have until July 3 at 12PM PST to submit their entry to the event. You only need to submit your entry in one server. After all submissions have been received we will then add them to a Google form and open voting to the Discord servers of all participating communities. Voting will also last for a week.

Rules:
• You must submit an image/GIF.
• It must be your own original work.
• No NSFW submissions.

The top 10 voted winners will each win prizes that they will get to pick from a prize pool. These prizes will range from a free year of Discord Nitro to free copies of games. Our goal is to have some fun and start working together with other big communities on fun collaboration events.

In addition to the prizes that the top 10 global winners will receive, we are also going to give prizes to the top 5 entries coming from the Terraria server. Included in the Prize Pool for these top 5 winners from Terraria will be 15k Prize Points, 250k Special Prize Points, and 500k Special Prize Points. Reminder that Special Prize Points can only be used to apply for Prize Shop roles above Winner.

In the coming weeks we are also going to be announcing some fun Summer events where winners can earn a lot of Special Prize Points.

With stickers being recently implemented, we figured that it would be the perfect time for some new stickers and emotes for the server!

Rules:

Your submission must be made by you! Do not enter someone else's work.
Submissions must be Terraria-related.
Submissions must show effort!
Submissions must be 32x32 pixels for emotes or 320x320 pixels for stickers.

You can submit as many emotes/stickers as you want and each emote or sticker we decide to add will be rewarded with 1,000 Prize Points each up to a maximum of 10,000 Prize Points! (Please note, this does not mean you can only have 10 emotes/stickers added, just that you can only win up to 10,000 Prize Points).

For any emotes/stickers we decide to add, you will also be credited in #information under the Server Artists section!

Submissions will open on July 9th, 8:00 PM EDT and close on July 25th, 8:00 PM EDT. When you feel your submissions are ready, DM @rigid wave with your submission. Any submissions which do not comply with the rules or are not within the submission period will not be considered.

This is a massive Alliance/community update for sure.

There are 3 commands available at launch that can now be used in #bot-commands:

at!points - Look up your Alliance Prize Points
at!shop - Look up what is in the Alliance Prize Shop for that server
at!buy - Make a purchase from the Alliance Prize Shop in that server

You can earn Alliance Prize Points by participating in #alliance-events and #alliance-global-event.

Keep in mind that some servers in the Alliance will have a custom prize shop with unique items, but those will be rolling out a bit later. So there are default items available in each Alliance Prize Shop and unique items that are available in specific Alliance Prize Shops.

When we launch our unique prizes in our Terraria Alliance Prize Shop two of the awesome unique prizes will be conversion of Alliance Prize Points to either Prize Points or a massive amount Special Prize Points that can be used to purchase the Ultra Instinct and Zenith roles. ! Join us for the Alliance Meme Event! We are excited to announce a fun USD Alliance collaboration event starting on August 13th at 12PM PDT. Get ready for the Alliance Meme event!

When the event begins the #alliance-global-event channel will go live and all participating Alliance servers will begin accepting entries for the event.

Rules:

• Only submit game memes. Try to incorporate the theme of our community.
• You must submit an image/GIF.
• It must be your own original work.
• No NSFW submissions.
• You only need to submit your entry in our server.
• Only one entry per person.
• Submissions period ends August 27th at 12PM PDT.

After all submissions have been received we will then add them to a Google form and open voting to all participating Alliance servers. Voting will also last for a week and end September 3rd at 12PM PDT.

The top 10 voted entries will get to pick a prize from our Alliance prize pool. This prize pool is comprised of a year of Discord Nitro and many games available via Steam or Epic.

In addition to the top 10 global winners our server is going to give prizes to the top 5 entries from our server. We will review entries and the top 5 voted entries from our server will also get to pick prizes from our server prize pool. Included in the prize pool will be 500k Special Prize Points, 250k Special Prize Points, and 15k Prize Points. (Special Prize Points only apply towards the <@&849028157981851649> and <@&849028472453857311> roles.)

Our goal is to have some fun and start working together with other big communities on fun collaboration events. We are always open to suggestions for future Alliance events!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Daily Alliance Events! Daily Alliance Events are currently live in the #alliance-events channel with our first ever event which is a meme themed event. Alliance Trivia battles will still occur in the same channel at the same times daily. We renamed the alliance-trivia channel to be called the #alliance-events channel. We renamed the AllianceTrivia bot to be called the <@&837848261372674088>Events bot.

So what does all this mean:

The @lavish vapor bot will create daily Alliance events between participating servers within the USD Alliance. The top voted entries for these daily events will receive Alliance Prize Points (APP) that can be used to redeem prizes from the Alliance Prize Shop (APS).
Daily Alliance Events begin at 6PM UTC every day.
Between 6PM and 6AM UTC anyone from participating servers will be able to message the @lavish vapor bot and upload their submissions for the event.
All event entries are reviewed by Alliance staff to determine suitability.
Between 6AM UTC and 6PM UTC the Voting Phase will occur. During this period of time anyone will be able to message the @lavish vapor to begin a voting session with the bot.
During the voting session the Bot will provide each person with 2 randomly picked entries from the event. Those who are voting will then be able to upvote the entry they prefer. Those who vote will earn 1 APP for every 5 sets of entries they vote on.
At 6PM UTC voting ends and the entries will be ranked by net votes. Each participating server will then receive the top 10 winning entries in descending order.
APP will automatically deposit into winners accounts. In the event of a voting tie then those who provided their entry to the event first will receive the higher leaderboard placement.
Daily Alliance Event Schedule
6:00PM - 6:00AM UTC - Event announcement and submission phase.
6:00AM - 6:00PM UTC - Voting phase.
6:00PM UTC - Winning entries announced and shared in participating servers.
Current Alliance Prize Point Prizes:
1st - 1,500
2nd - 1,000
3rd - 500
4th - 250
5th - 250
6th - 200
7th - 200
8th - 150
9th - 150
10th - 150
All the event entries need to be original work and follow Discord ToS. NSFW and unsuitable content are prohibited. Anyone who breaks the rules can be banned from participating in Alliance events and/or Alliance servers.
We are currently in the Alpha for Daily Alliance Events with a few Alliance servers. On September 25 we will begin the Daily Alliance Events Beta and add a few more servers for testing. Assuming everything goes according to plan then on Friday, October 1 we will launch Daily Alliance Events to all Alliance servers who registered to participate in this new Alliance feature.

Scams have been on the rise so we figured we'd fill you in on how they work so you can better avoid them.

A scammer will send you a message for something free, usually either Discord Nitro or some sort of Steam game/items. They will use a link that looks similar to a Discord/Steam link to try and steal your account. If an account is stolen, it will message everyone on its friend list to try and steal their accounts as well. So if your friend is acting oddly and trying to get you to click a link/download a file, this may be why! You should always double check links before clicking them, and never run unknown files.

Legitimate Discord Nitro links will create an embed where you can click the "Accept" button, you will never have to click on the actual link, or enter any information. Discord/Discord Staff will never contact you through direct message.

If you encounter a scammer, report them to @rigid wave and Discord's Trust and Safety team:

We are excited to announce that the Daily Alliance Events feature is finally out of Beta and we will be rolling it out to more Alliance servers in the coming weeks.

For those who are not aware, we host daily meme events where you can create and submit memes for a chance to win prizes based on community votes. Some important detail below.

1)** Participation is super easy ** - send any message to @lavish vapor from 11AM to 11PM PDT and the bot will respond with instructions to upload a meme.
2) After you upload a meme you will need to type agree and the meme will be entered into the daily event.
3) If your meme follows the guidelines and is approved by Alliance staff then you will see the meme in the #alliance-chat channel. Keep in mind that you can only see the #alliance-chat channel if you have the <@&837848261372674088> role. You can give yourself the <@&837848261372674088> role in the #alert-roles channel.

Due to the increase in phishing messages, we are putting out this announcement to spread awareness and help everyone keep their accounts safe!

A new type of scam has been very common recently, where you receive a direct message from a user stating they saw you being "exposed" on another server for posting inappropriate content. They will then link you to this server and you will be asked to scan a QR code. Scanning this code will result in your Discord account being stolen. If an account is stolen, it will message everyone on its friend list to try and steal their accounts as well, so if you receive a suspicious message from a friend this may be why!

Another type of popular scam is where the scammer sends you a message for something free, usually either Discord Nitro or some sort of Steam game/items. They will use a link that looks similar to a Discord/Steam link to try and steal your account. As with the previous scam, if an account is stolen, it will message everyone on its friend list to try and steal their accounts as well. So if your friend is acting oddly and trying to get you to click a link/download a file or scan a QR code, they may have been hacked.

You should always double check links before clicking them, and never download/run unknown files or scan unknown QR codes. You should never enter your personal information or password anywhere on Discord. Discord itself will never contact you via direct message for warnings, events, or similar. Any messages claiming to offer you beta access or Hypesquad entry are fake.
