Regular verbs all have that same way of forming past tense, spielte, brauchte, etc.

But because "backen" is still in the process of becoming regular, you sometimes will see it as irregular Präteritum (buk) and sometimes will see it as regular (backte)

So I just watched a YouTube video, and the argument is to read earlier than you feel comfortable. I think most people consider Harry Potter to be a B2 level task for example, but it seems like this guy's argument would be to read it earlier, B1 or even A2.

But when you do so, you take it slowly and carefully. Like a few sentences or paragraphs a day (no way for an A2 to progress much quicker than that....)

Not even for complete understanding. This is with the recommendation of only looking up words that feel important / have repeated, rather than looking up every word.

And accepting that it's impossible for A2 level to fully understand everything. But maybe it's still a good exercise to do so.

I tried Deutsche Welle A1 and A2 tests last night. I'm solidly A1+ (80% correct, with some pretty stupid errors lol).

A2 seems far away though.

Like it's frustrating because I have some level of understanding of the A2 test / words / what I need to do. But not enough to get the questions correct.

Like A1 had this one question where they showed a map with three locations labeled A, B and C. the audio said go right then left and the building is on your right.

I got it wrong because I read the map incorrectly, even if I understood the German 100% lol

I think it's a good thing to take the test to check your progress from A1 to A2. But not too often because it doesn't seem like the questions change.

So the test really only works once.

It looks rather rigorous. Reddit claims that 60% is a passing score.

So if you are scoring poorly, you might still pass
