i mean you could listen to kids songs but those are annoying, so just listen to a big playlist of german songs on youtube and find an artist you like.
Do you have any recommendations
if you want catchy, CRO is ok he has a more pop feel to his songs
sticks to your brain pretty easily
that's all i can think of, again it depends on what your favorite genre is
Look in the resource list and there are some playlists.

It's a bit old but you could try the hello Julia series in Youtube?
If you turn on German subtitles you'd be able to practice both (plus that is actually one of the most affective ways to use that kind of input)
Could you send me this one?
where can i watch german movies ,series, new ,kids content in german?
Heyo. Just a reminder that due to Discord's ToS we're not allowed to provide links to pirated content on the server.
If you have Netflix, you can change its language to German and you'll have many more options with German subs and dubs. For more advanced learners I'd suggest checking out websites/apps of German TV broadcasters. ZDF Mediathek, ARD Mediathek, ARTE are some examples. (Because of these apps I'm addicted to german documentaries right now.) For beginners there are a lot of great YouTube channels that are already listed in the resource list.
Hey are there any websites from where I can practice my writing skills (A2)
danke
.
I just found a book "the Routledge Modern German Reader" which is a good introduction when you reached an intermediate level and want to start reading German novels. I think it would also be a good content for a reading stream here since there is a discussion section before each text and questions after.
Hi everyone, I am looking for interesting videos/articles about valentine that aren't to hard (around A level) . Does anyone have any ideas where i can look best? Or maybe someone has a video/article

natürlich german is good for this
Yeah, i am going through the resources as we speak but I was hoping someone had a good vidoe or article right off the bat haha

Hi all! Any people who finished the Fast Fluency Fast Track on Clozemaster? Almost 20.000 sentences. Any feedback?
Of course I don't expect to get fluent with this, but I'm curious if at least the vocabulary gets to a decent level, 4000-5000 words, maybe?
I study the 2000 most common word list on Clozemaster because that is something like 95% of daily conversation. It's a good review system, and I think it's good if you have a decent understanding of German grammar already. Since Clozemaster uses example sentences, I find it useful to learn and remember the vocab with the grammar I already know in German.
For example, it's easy to learn "heiß" with the sentence "Mir ist es heiß" because I remember the word and the construction.
Overall, Clozemaster is one of the better vocabulary trainers imo because of the example sentences. But I do a lot of study beyond Clozemaster (i.e. reading, watching German tv, and so on).
Hey, where is Clozemaster an app? How can I benefit from it too?
Clozemaster is a normal app in the app store. I use Android, so I found it easily in the Google Play Store. The desktop website is also fine and easy to use.
does anyone know any fun and entertaining ways to learn german a1 -a2 so its doesnt get boring , im using nicos weg videos atm

Has anybody tried this out
no never heard of this but I would just listen to german shows/audio during the day whenever you have time which helps with learning most languages.
i dont think that works, and if it did it would take many many many years more than normal studying so it's not worth a try
i burned out bc i heard a lot of german shows, but my listening skill is still bad. What should i do
Ja, beginners
Ach so
Can someone correct this
No... usually if you have no access to the TestDaF books, it's a good idea to either do the mock test they have on their website https://www.testdaf.de/de/teilnehmende/der-papierbasierte-testdaf/vorbereitung-auf-den-papierbasierten-testdaf/#c949 or ||pirate them on b-ok or LibGen if you're not in Germany or some very strict antipiracy country||
Machen Sie sich fit für Ihre Prüfung! Um gut vorbereitet und sicher in die TestDaF-Prüfung zu gehen, bieten wir Ihnen viele Materialien und Übungsangebote.
Learn German with Anja has released a fun learning TV show, but you gotta buy it
could you send me a link she has made alot of series
You can check her youtube channel, she explains it in her videos
I believe today's the last day to enroll
ok
you know what im gonna stick with dw @trail nexus
watch things multiple times or watch something super simple like Sesamstrasse
Do you listen to things close to your level, that you can understand? I think it's less effective if you don't understand what you listen to. So I agree with brice's advice. Listen to things you already know the subject/plot of, or just super simple things. Moreover, listening skills depend a lot on vocabulary. If you don't know the words you won't understand them when you hear them, so I'd suggest practicing vocabulary too.
And most importantly, if you burned out take a break and focus on other things. Come back to it when you feel ready.
Thank you for your advice @celest loom @fallen perch
I'll try my best for next exam
check out some resources linked in the channel description if you want easy to understand resources!

If you just started learning German, and you are looking for input (like a video or a book) which you can understand, this video is pretty much the best. It's good because: 1. It's extremely easy to understand what's going on from the context 2. the vocab is really simple and useful 3. the video is very short, so watching it over and over isn't very time consuming https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUH-_n6ob_A

How do I deal with a burnout
you don't
Who has a good website / Anki desk for learning German?
The resource list has many good websites.
try studying next time in a cafe or something. Change your environment. It really helps. When i had a burnout during my exams i booked a room a hotel and stayed studied there for a day. Seems excessive but its an immediate way to deal with burnout.Otherwise take long break to chill and reset if no deadlines ahead. Watch netflix read a book rewind 👍🏻 wishing u luck
I actually have a stupid problem

Was ist das
The thing is I havent studied anything since the covid pandemic started and i feel like my brain is empty when I study. I feel like I should take breaks all the time and not study at all
geläufig
What has really helped me is to meditate at least 5 min a day, slowly growing it to more if you're comfortable. I know not everyone is into meditation but perhaps just take that 5-10 min a day and just disconnect and relax.
It will help clear your mind at least. For me, lots of those thoughts I need breaks, etc were because I had too much going on in my head
I can also suggest using a pomadoro timer, it may help your brain to recongise a break is on the way and just focus until you get there. It's an amazing tool I use both the pomodoro timer and the meditation daily. Hope it helps
Yeah i will follow this but how should i meditate
There isn't a real wrong way but I felt lost without a slightly more "regimented" but still relaxed approach. I'm using an app to help me now called Balance, I believe they're actually giving a year away for free now. Anyways its guided and it tracks your progress. I'd follow one of the plans first and you can still do little extras around it if you want
but they teach you as you go. There are lots of them though also some good resources on youtube and stuff. Personally I prefer these ones that don't go very deep into buddhism because I'm not religious. Meditation is not exclusively buddhist and I think everyone can benefit
This channel is for resources, not discussions about how to study, so please use a different channel next time.

i hear that you should seek native resources

I have a great idea for a vocabulary app -- sort of like a tinder for nouns where you use it to learn the gender. What I have in mind is just a deck of cards with all sorts of nouns and you have to swipe left/up/right to sort of "guess" whether it's masc/neuter/fem and when you swipe it gives you feedback. If you get it right 2-3 times it will remove that noun from the deck, otherwise it will keep showing up in the rotation until you get it right.
Does this make sense? I think it's a really basic idea and I'm wondering if anyone knows of such a thing or something similar? I wouldn't be surprised if it already exists!
If it does, great! I can practice my nouns
If it doesn't, then even better, I can build it myself and then use it to practice nouns
the search "Der Die Das" on the iPhone App Store found some similar apps, in case anyone was interested in something like this!
gerne
That's very sweet of you.
But i don't think this is legal
Oh should I delete it then? TvT
sadly yes
Or you can ask the mods
If the mods say yes then, at least you won't be the only one in trouble if the fbi comes
Is it alright for me to just tag them or can I dm them even? Thank you btw for the help
At least it's not material from the books we've had but I don't know where my teacher got these pdfs from either so it might just be from another book and not a free material from the internet. Which I mean I guess can be assumed because it says it was scanned
Yes you can just ping the mods
Or dm
Alright I'll dm 😇
That's true 😅 I just didn't want to add to their workload in a big server like this but obviously this is the exact situation where you'd ask them for help 😅

there are way better resources than udemy imho, nicos weg is way more comprehensive and completely free

Nicos Weg is a free online program aimed at helping people learn German. It includes video, audio, text, grammar explanations, notes, vocabulary, and exercises. It also includes very useful cultural and bureaucratic information, such as how to open a bank account, while teaching you the relevant grammar and vocabulary.
It’s fairly popular and well-recommended, but keep in mind that you can’t learn a language with only one resource, even if it’s a good one!

Are there any language counsellors or any person who can help me with how I should go about preparing for the A2 exam
I really need your help, preparing for the exam is overwhelming
im not a language counsellor but i can try, although ive never taken a german language test
-practice as many question papers and previous exams and sample papers as you can!! when learning for a test you have to simulate the environment of it and also get used to answering questions and being test-minded, you should leave yourself enough time between your material revisions and your test to practice and quiz yourself enough for the test
**-**do one test asap, analyse it and see where you are lacking for eg. in the grammar topic of tenses or in listening comprehension
**-**once youve narrowed it down then you can ask for help on the specific topic you feel most lacking
**-**look over the goethe a2 word list and practice words that you dont know from there, making flashcards or writing it down etc
**-**make sure you know the syllabus- i.e what topics in grammar what other general topics etc
and the pattern of the question paper: what kind of questions come for the writing part? what kind of questions come for the speaking part etc
**-**if i were you id also look at youtubers whove taken the test and see how it is, https://youtu.be/PTVIbRyBPGA or something like this because i learnt on youtube that the testdaf has a very fixed pattern of questions and can be practiced for more, or tell us here and someone who has written it or has more experience can attempt to guide you
also how much time you got left to prepare for it?+are you in a language course or self study+is it a standard certificate test like goethe/telc or a one held at a smaller scale like uni (for example)

Hello there everyone! I am using the Prüfungstraining Testdaf b2-c1 to get prepared for the exam. The version i'm using however is the 2008 version, is this still up to date?
i studied the German phonetic alphabet yesterday and made a little guide
(in both .pdf and .jpg form)
That's some pretty good advices
I know the sentence structures when it comes to modal verben and stuff but when I speak, i feel like i have to think alot before speaking
It doesn't come naturally
I'm scared because I can't fail my speaking test
And my listening skills are weak
thanks
go through some sample question papers and record the answers to the speaking part, post it in #corrections if you're comfortable or get someone to correct it
keep practicing as much as you can
and for listening, always listen to things with some white noise in the background because exams be like that, they will be set in a noisy cafe or something
faq gender
German nouns are sorted in three different genders: masculine, neuter and feminine. These have nothing to do with sex or social gender.
The first thing genders will influence are articles like der, das, die. Each word has its own and you better get it right: some words that look identical can have different meanings depending on the gender they're used with. For example:
die Band = the (musical) band,
der Band = the (book) volume,
das Band = the tape.
Some words, mainly trademarks and loanwords, have multiple acceptable genders while having no change in meaning:
der Jogurt = das Jogurt
das Virus = der Virus
These may vary by region or colloquiality.
💢 But WHY, German, WHY ⁉
Gender is actually quite useful! Since sentence structure is less rigid than in English, grammatical case helps you tell the various elements apart (with some practice), and that works through genders: each gender has its own forms, which makes everything a little less ambiguous. Besides, as you've seen with Band above, it allows us to make up words with different meanings that look the same but are not ambiguous, and if that's not magic, I don't know what is. ✨
🙀 But how am I supposed to tell them apart? 🙀
Check out >explain gender patterns. 😉
@solid mulch
How to enjoy learning a language
Why is it so hard for me to listen to the conversations?
Why does it feel like i can't frame sentences on my own even though i know the sentence structures, and all?
find content in that language which you'd consume in your native one
for me that would be german pop songs, funny comedy videos in german, video essays, german versions of the books i enjoyed as a kid etc
also language learning is not always fun
most of it is not fun, but i would use the fun i get from the fun things to motivate myself into doing the not so fun things
take a sip of water everytime i say fun above
It's all a matter of having formed the neural structure in your brain.
It takes time to understand languages. Everytime you listen to or read German stuff it's like one more inch being build of the neural highway that develops in your brain.

Does anyone know of sites where there are lots of texts in different levels of language?
and you can translate them
for example :
https://jezykniemiecki.org/czytanie/
Does anyone have a website with new terminology to learn say 10-20 words a day?
Or not just website anything really
@static frost there are Anki cards, there are docs with most used 1000 words etc
Ooh thank you very much
Danke schon!
Hallo zusammen! Gibt es eine Seite, wo ich die Wörter vertrauenswürdig übersetzen kann?
Manchmal übersetzt “google translate” alles falsch, deshalb vertraue ich es nicht 😅
https://www.deepl.com/translator is a very good translator
Danke schön
whats just a good English to German dictionary
There are a lot of good dictionaries. For German explaining I would use "Duden", for translation you can use a lot, and I mean a lot. For example, you could use https://deepl.com/translator
Is there a good course to learn how to read German? I'm completely new to it, so I need to figure out the basics. I tried looking in the list, but I'm not sure what to start with.
You can find the courses here: https://learngerman.dw.com/en/overview/
You can also see various other courses for learners by dw.com here: https://www.dw.com/en/learn-german/s-2469/
Thanks, I will check it out.

I created a chrome extension that opens the conjugation of the selected verb in a new tab on-click. If anyone wants it, DM me or I can make it available here.
Works like this
excuse me how can i get into the audio practice rooms
@twilit needle @distant geyser
@bronze gust Sorry but please don't post random code, extensions, etc. here because they can pose a security risk to users.
The code is open to anyone who wants to see it. Maybe if an admin who knows about coding could "ok" this, then you could keep the extension 😦
I understand but we can't review every piece of code someone posts here just to make sure it's not harmful.
Any particular recommendations on which vocabulary list to use for A level?

If you plan to do a Level A exam, you can choose the list which matches the exam you want to take. Otherwise, just pick any.
Or use all.

Hello. Are there free apps/websites/books/stories/novels where I can practice reading (A2)? It'd be nice if I could translate each word right there (by clicking it or something) (like in Readle, but Readle's paid)
(I did have a look at the list of resources, but the books are either paid or without the feature I mentioned)
Hi there! I might be late to answer this but some words' meanings change depending on the sentence, so translating every word one by one would not always result in accurate translations and some words don't have exact meanings in english and you can only understand what it means from the sentence
I hope I was able to explain it
Did you try something like this already? https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/translate?_category=extensions
I didn't try this but could be good: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/deepl-translate-beta-vers/cofdbpoegempjloogbagkncekinflcnj
If you use an ebook reader, many ebook readers also have such an extension or feature.
The last app I tried allowed me to select any part of the text and translate it. That's awesome, but the app for some reason suggests old German 😦
I want an app/website for mobile (ipad), but let me if I can get something like this for it too 🤔 thanks
Thank you for this resource! I have a question. The pronunciation sounds a bit different from what I'm used to hear, is it some dialect or is it Standard German pronunciation?
It's standard Hoch Deutsch, nothing unusual so far for me.
I see, thank you.
You can use https://forvo.com/languages/de/ if you really need a 2nd opinion. It has real human recordings.
How do you call this other pronunciation of "ich" and "sich"? Maybe I mishear it, but to me there is a clear difference in pronunciation of "sich" (for example) in "All German Words (with Audio)" and other resources like forvo? I'm sorry if this sounds passive aggressive, I'm really ignorant on this matter and maybe I'm overthinking ahead of time (instead of actually studying), but I'd rather figure out which pronunciation is the safest to follow.
Thank you, it's very helpful! Considering I'm a total beginner I can be totally wrong on this, but to me "ich" in the video corresponds to the pronunciation similar to those in forvo, whereas in "All German Words (with Audio) there is some additional subtle sound.
Well, keep in mind that people on Memrise or in Anki decks use whatever audio files they can find.

Ich werde jetzt diese Methode anwenden, um Deutsch zu lernen. Ich habe bereits mit anderen Quellen gelernt, aber ich denke, ich werde mit dieser Methode anfangen zu lernen.
Hey. I'm looking at the textbooks section. Do you recommend picking one book from Basic, then Intermediate, then... Modern? I'm skimming over the Modern and it feels like this one is already quite self contained.
The books currently listed in the Advanced section are both grammar reference books. You normally don't work through them like a normal textbook; you just reference them when you see a grammar concept you don't understand. Similar to a dictionary. You don't read the whole dictionary to learn new words; you look up a word when you want to know what it means. Does that make sense?
Yes, it does. So to get an experience more akin to follow a curriculum, do you recommend reading the book from the beginner to the intermediate levels?
Sure. You don't necessarily have to use a textbook though. I think for German a mixture of resources is the most beneficial. There are also lists available here that can help guide you through the topics. Like this, for example: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Kz1Xqx0sFXAWys-Mgfhjc-M8JDCMtoeeGXcg5-orP_A/edit
German Grammar - Order of Topics A basic list of what order to study grammar topics in, separated by level. This is not the only order you can study in. This is just a simple list people can use if they’re unsure what to study next. I put an asterisk next to topics that aren’t really essential ...
There are also some useful "advanced" textbooks out there but the higher level you go, the less generalized they become, since as you get to advanced level of language, the range of topics you can look into becomes very broad.
Whereas for beginner books, they're almost all going to cover the same topics.
Thanks for the recommendation. Yes, currently my plan is to go through a german textbook and Anki as many examples and declension tables as I can get. Once I got the Basics covered, I'll probably start to watch videos and read books in German, get a tandem partner, Ankiing everything in the process. I'll probably also follow an intermediate textbook in parallel. After that, I think I will just take it chill and Anki anything I see that I don't understand.

Hi! I am picking up German from scratch (studied it a few years ago, was around A2-B1 level but I forgot most of it), and I thought of trying Assimil German with Ease + maybe Pimsleur if I were to get some money + Anki + immersive content + talking to German friends (later on) to start off in a semi-intensive approach; however, I cannot find the audio files for Assimil German With Ease (2019 version) anywhere, could anyone here point me at where I could find them? If not, what other textbooks do y'all recommend? I have read the resource list, but I really do not like the idea of using multiple books at once. I don’t know if this is a “resource” per se but it was fascinating for a language geek like me.
Plural dative is incorrect.
Leuten?
Yep.
You also don't need a separate row for ein and kein. You can just have one row for both. Same for the first row - it's not necessary because the second row shows the same info.
German adjectives work just like English ones, except that they take on case endings when they come right before a noun: Der Hund ist groß und braun. The dog is big and brown. Der große braune Hund bellte mich an.The big … Continue reading →
Here you can use this for reference. There are 3 tables, which represents the 3 rows your table would use.
Thanks ^^
If you want one more efficiency you can add: nominative and accusative is the same for feminine, neuter and plural. They don't change between cases. So instead of repeating the same thing twice, you could merge them into one cell.
Yeah!
Same for dative-genitive for feminine.
Have to edit the whole thing
It's up to you based on how you want to represent it, but I generally feel like minimizing the info and showing patterns is the best option.
@misty valve What do you think, Base? ^^
It's still worthwhile to have the second row for the plural. You just have to use a different word than ein. For example, a lot of charts use mein instead of ein, so that they can include plural.
Noted, anything else?
The rest looks good to me. Like I said last time, you could combine dative and genitive of feminine if you want, but that's not important, just wanted to mention it.
Omg, yeah! Thanks for the help, Base 🫂

any good resources for learning Bayerisch?
- It‘s called Bairisch
- It‘s a dialect group consisting of many many different varieties - there is no standard form of Bairisch
- I‘d advise learning Standard German first
- Trying to imitate dialect can seem very offensive and often times people will think you‘re mocking them. It‘s extremely difficult to sound authentic. You will more or less get used to it and will understand people speaking in Dialect but speaking in Dialect yourself could take years.
- I doubt there are hardly any resources on learning a bavarian Dialect - either you grew up with it and learnt it or you don‘t. People don‘t learn dialects like foreign languages.
That is just my opinion.
I don‘t wanna discourage you, just keep this in mind.
Thanks for the input. I should have clarified that my goal it to understand someone speaking in a southern dialect, I don’t intend to mock anybody. I have friends that live in southern Germany and would like to speak to their parents and grandparents but their accent is a bit thick. I’d also place myself around B2 for Hochdeutsch, so I’m not worried about communicating at a standard level.
I can offer you to practice with me - I speak a middle bavarian dialect

Just so you know if someone did not mention this yet: "Bayerisch" refers to dialects spoken in Bavaria, while "Bairisch" is the term that refers to a larger group of dialects from multiple different regions. Austrian German for example is counted towards "Bairisch"
what do i open the file with?
Download autohotkey (you can find it by googling the name but let me know if you have trouble). Install it. It should install easily. Then you just have to download the pinned file and run it. You shouldn't need to do anything to it, as long as autohotkey is installed.
If you want to edit it or look what's in it, just open it with notepad, or any other text editor.

I've been exploring resources to learn German, but many of the free websites like Deutsch Welle and the UT Austin website aren't laid out too good, and are literally slow to load pages and what not, and the problems of only using Duolingo are clear. So, I've decided to bite the bullet and buy a proper German basics textbook.

easy german has 2 videos on verbs (100 top verbs each) and Learn German has a series on 150 verbs in 10 days. would recommend. i learned a few common ones from there which were really important
Thanks for the suggestion! However, I'm curious how I should use this kind of book, given I'm learning by myself, and that the book is entirely in German?
Since you have this server to ask if you get stuck, you should be fine with a book all in German. You can look up English explanations for the same topics if the German one isn't enough.
What Basementality said and those books are made for beginners. I just looked it up and Schubert added English explanations in their A-level books. They also all add a lot of images. You don't have to and shouldn't stick to one resource anyways. It's good to see different ways of explaining one rule.
@bleak compass @misty valve
I've decided to go for German for Dummies since I liked what I saw on the preview of the first chapter. Let's see how far that'll get me. Was thinking about using the Schubert textbook but shipping to the US would be a fair few weeks away.
Nevertheless, thanks for the help boys and see y'all around!
I haven't used it but I think I remember that German for Dummies is one of the books that uses really messed up pronunciation guides, so I would just be careful and make sure to check that.
It's definitely not a popular book and I don't think I know anyone who has recommended it, but it's fine to try things out until you find something you like anyway.
does anyone here who passed a2 german exam tell me how i can pull it off in 30 days
It's possible but you have to work a lot. I did about 3h per day of reading lessons and doing exercises on it. Using apps to learn vocabulary and watching a lot of german things, movies, music, videos.
Where should I read and do excericses from

There are a lot for beginners. Structured lessons are better. Like a textbook. Some websites offer it too. You want good grammar foundations.
Nicos Weg is popular.
faq nicos
Nicos Weg is a free online program aimed at helping people learn German. It includes video, audio, text, grammar explanations, notes, vocabulary, and exercises. It also includes very useful cultural and bureaucratic information, such as how to open a bank account, while teaching you the relevant grammar and vocabulary.
It’s fairly popular and well-recommended, but keep in mind that you can’t learn a language with only one resource, even if it’s a good one!

Is there any german dictionary that explains the meaning in simple terms and provides simple sentences in german ???
If you want a translation dictionary, Linguee and Wiktionary both usually have nice simple sentences as examples.
Not sure of a beginner level monolingual German dictionary, but there's a picture dictionary in the resource list I think.

Hello everyone, so I observed that sometimes people would use articles such as der, die when referring to someone or something . For example der kommt. Why is that? And what topic can I find that? I have checked out pronouns and asides relative pronouns can’t seem to find it.
In reading, there are so many reflexives… sich in a lot of sentences that it becomes confusing . For example, Dabei kann sich ein Retrofit der
bestehenden Steuerung lohnen…. Is there a resource where I can understand why sentences are constructed this way and how to know when to include a reflex . It comes up every time. Thanks in advance.

Similar to personal pronouns, they can replace a previously mentioned noun (or noun phrase). Unlike personal pronouns,...
Demonstrative pronouns, also indicative pronouns, can replace previously mentioned nouns in a sentence. In German grammar, demonstrative pronouns are declined to reflect case, gender and number. Hello, I have completed the A2 series on Learn german, so can anyone suggest any other resource I should use or should I continue with the B1 series ?
There are plenty of resources and I definitely recommend using a variety. But as for continuing the B1 series, that's up to you to decide. I don't think there's any upside or downside to continuing with that series specifically. It's just personal preference.
I am asking should I do anything else before moving on to B1 as then It would be difficult for me to return to A2
Is there a good collection of test prompts for speaking and writing? Like for tests. Like Goethe certificate and the like.
Thank you 💞 I will check it out.
I head there is approximately 2000 words that a person with B1 has to learn. Can someone share with me the list of that vocabulary ?
Google Goethe b1 vocab
As the other guy said usually they refer to the pdfs from the Goethe's website. The other obvious one is the Langescheidt's Basic German Vocabulary/Langenscheidt Grundwortschatz Deutsch als Fremdsprache. That one has 4000 words. 2000 basic words + 2000 more advanced words. But in practice, you also need to learn stuffs like their conjugation, plural form, usage, prepositions position, etc. So not simply memorize 2000 words or 2000 anki cards.
Couldn't find one. There's some hueber books that claim they have 15 Modelltests. But they can be expensive. Like the Project B2 Neu has 2 books. The reason I asked is because for TOEFL, there are usually a whole lot of resources online and offline. Like some kind of test bank.

how effective are podcasts?
They're good for really training your listening skill. The ones aimed at native speakers will be extremely difficult for beginners and even intermediate learners, but can also be a great source of vocab for advanced speakers. I definitely think it's important to choose a podcast that matches your current skill level.
You won't magically learn a language by just listening to it though. You have to do other learning tasks to give yourself a foundation for listening. Build up the skill gradually.
Appreciate it @misty valve
Thanks!
