Okay so, If you're using the link cable it should automatically upload the photos into your pcs files if I'm correct. so, There's a standard way to take a screenshot and a more easier way. I only know the standard way and I will get back to you on the other option in a sec. The standard way is just: click the oculus logo on your controller in game, It will show your regular oculus menu and a take a screenshot/record a video icons.

And the way to share the images, You'll find it in your files and just click the share option.

Exporting it onto a separate device may in fact be, Hard. I haven't done it myself. You could google it.

You can generally check comments on items to see if they're compatible but I believe you can use any but getting the official one is faster (as in like, data transfer or whatever. Sorry I'm really tired). I use an off brand cable and it works fine for me. I don't know about airline though, sorry about that

You shouldn’t need Steam at all to play VRChat over air link; it is recommended to play the oculus home version of VRChat, less layers of abstraction.

You're confusing playing on the Quest store. Oculus Home is for rift games, which Air Link / Link Cable lets you access. VRChat is listed there, and will let you play the Rift's version of VRChat, which will give you higher fps than the Steam version

You might need to contact support and have them reset your home. I don’t believe they have a way for a quest user to default to a different world. The next time you can access the in game settings I would recommend you do not have “skip go screen” checked. That way you can always opt to redirect to default home on loading screens

I've tried it at night to watch videos in the back seat and it works, just no good tracking

You can disable positional tracking if you want to just use it as a big screen in a car

But really taking a quest outside is not a good idea just a few seconds of direct sunlight in the lenses will fry your screen

Anything that leaves an after image of the sun in your eyes for a few seconds is going to leave a permanent after image on your quest screen

Hey all, I need some guidance rn. Ever since I got my quest 2 up and running with steamvr, my headphones stopped playing sound. it shows that its playing sound but its not physically outputting sound, I have installed new drivers and the troubleshooting program doesn't really know whats going on either

Max safety settings don't show all avatars on Quest, if your avatar is "Very Poor", you'll still need to show it manually via "Show Avatar" in the menu after you select a person.

I don’t think that’s a bug, because if it was perf-blocked, it’s not Quest-friendly, and Very Poor avatars are blocked by default on Quest and you cannot change that at all

Oi! i was having some problems with drift myself, and I got some isopropyl alcohol, put it on a qtip and rubbed it around the edges so it seeps into the controller. worked like a charm
I also cannot stress this enough, you gotta use isopropyl, cuz it evaporates faster. use water, say bye bye to your controller

As a PC headset, Quest’s 2’s downsides are it’s super heavy and link cable incurs video compression, and with it’s battery, you are also time-limited, as it cannot charge faster than it is used.

In comparison PCVR headsets are very lightweight, are direct display devices, and are powered by your PC.

I only recommend Quest if you do not intend to use it as a PC headset, doing so is a bit of a waste. There are better (and cheaper!) options for PC.

Basically every time I join a world it everything is normal for like 2 seconds then everyone freezes and then the game says "disconnected vrchat not responding"

you get to see PCVR content, and as long as your PC is up to par on hardware it will be a much better experience

ok so on vrchat, you can upload your avatars and worlds to 2 platforms

most people upload their content to the PC platform, as the rules for creating content are not as strict and you can get away with more

not as many people make Quest avatars because the rules for creating that content is more strict, because the hardware can only take so much by itself

Depends on if you're okay with the Facebook curse (a Facebook account is required to even use the Oculus Quest 2) and you're okay with not being able to have full-body tracking without additional software and hardware.

I don't know where to put this, so apologies if it's in the wrong tab. I have an oculus quest 2 and I wanted to play vrchat via a wireless link to my pc. Well I got the steamvr and I got the virtual desktop it said to and I can get into the game just fine through my pc's desktop. I can see it and load into the home world, but I can't move or talk, or really do anything. The joysticks don't work and I can't speak without holding v on the virtual keyboard. Is there a fix for this. Like the touch controllers are unresponsive? Did I miss a step or something along the way? Do I need rift software to make this work?

I have excellent net, I should I pay enough for it and I fixed the issue, but now I can't load into any worlds. It's one problem after another with this thing. The worlds start loading, but get to about 15-40% and then it sends me back to home. Why is it doing this? Maybe it's cause I'm using a wireless modem. Will try getting a cable to attach to my router, but really my pc is strong, my net connection should be stable. I don't know why it's not working. I did not have this problem when playing vrchat on desktop without the quest 2.

I mean I can play it through the quest 2 just fine, no issues at all, but I can't load my gfs pc avatars on it alone, which is the reason I go through my pc. Not to mention it severly limits the worlds I can go to created by friends.

If it's the warning for being to big it means in terms of meters tall. it won't stop you from uploading huge avatars

if it's for filesize - that will also let you upload as big as you want - the limit is 10mb on quest. if you are over that, no one's gonna see you, even if they try to force-show your avatar.

but you will see yourself, so if that's all you care about, you can upload huge filesize avatars

@pastel hornet You have to use trigger to select, in options (on the wheel) there is something along the lines of flick select, made sure it is on.

@haughty coyote The quest does not work with wifi extenders, if you aren't one one maybe restarting the quest, then 'forget'ing the wifi and reconnecting may fix it.
