vrchat relies on community made content mainly so alot of their limitations are based around that since optimization is something alot of creators hate dealing with, game companies that control the content used/made generally have full teams setup to optimize the work so it can look better then other games and be optimized

just wait until there isnt support for the quest 2 anymore and they might raise the restrictions they have on everything a bit

its been said a few times in here but when there was a bypass that allowed audio on quest it crashed ALOT of headsets consistently so its unlikely to come back until either the headsets get beefier or they change the way audio works possibly

Right click on OBS game, a then click on Transform, and click Fit to Screen.

And click on Use Virtual Camera.

@charred bolt But that is used for desktop and pcvr for streaming and recording. Quest doesn't have that option atm.

I have seen this mentioned a few times so there something wonky or not understood.

Any extra features run on the headset will of course make the issue worse, any web browsers open and even enabling features.
While there could of course be something wrong with VRChat's implementation it does seem to work for most people.

I don't have any real fixes for you to try, it could be that the world you are in is just waay too compressed, fitting multiple GB of data in the 100MB download size, or you just have too many extra features enabled on your Quest, worst case factory resetting the headset still seems to fix whatever stuff Meta breaks with each update.

1. When loading into worlds the bar with the loading progress no longer fills up it just stays at 0% but I still load in.

The quest two was never really meant for long term. It's battery drained within 2 hours and often bugged out a lot. It was more of a test to test out new software and the like. It's about 5 years old now and software is becoming more advanced. People have reported melting headsets (which were probably due to people's stupidity. Like my friend hooking a car battery up to the oculus to charge it. It melted.)

But also from computers and it's inability to keep up with graphics and such nowadays. Mine hardly wants to turn on and it's only 3 years old.

It doesn't even show my room when I'm tryna set up a boundary. I just have to guess.

It also has like pixelated lines on the screen that appear when I turn my head. I've taken good care of my headset and it's still rough. (I cleaned it with the recommended cleaner and tools, I've charged it when I was off it and not on it, I used the charger it came with, I made sure it was kept in room temperatures, etc..)

A majority of these new devices are upgrades in software and hopefully durability.

My bf has this issue with the avatars. There is a way to kinda fix it and it’s by clicking the power button off and on on your headset. Don’t hold it but just click. However, if done in certain world and too many times it can crash you. The image thing idk how to fix that.

Yes, you need to change the settings in your Quest itself to stop it from going into sleep mode etc then it won't do it anymore.

Wanna know whats weird, my quest 3 isnt being screwed up, its just my quest 2 thats just doing it, i cleaned both my data including app data including my search history.

Then i cleaned about 9GB worth of data even though my headset has 230Gb of space.

Then i cleaned 2gb of 30min videos

Maxed it to 230gb just to find out it wasnt my end.

Memory is referring to the RAM of your headset not the storage.

Quest 3 has 8GB of RAM, Quest 2 has 6GB.
Quest OS takes up 2GB so VRChat has 6GB and 4GB respectively to play with, those 2GB make a large difference, in theory allowing VRChat to load in 50% more things.

For as long as the Quest 2 is supported the Quest 3 should sit fairly comfortably assuming they decide to up some limit after the Quest 2 is discontinued.
It is kind of a cycle, Quest 1 was struggling and Quest 2 ran great and now with the Quest 3 the Quest 2 is struggling.

Either they just recently did a change which broke yt-dlp (what we need) or they flagged your IP, meaning only logged in accounts can watch youtube and there is no way to login to your youtube account in VRChat.

Don't worry, you aren't alone in this lots of people are having trouble with this on quest and we're starting to think it's an actual bug because before the update I could turn on selected avis and the world would be fine and smooth maybe a crash here and there if it was a super big avi but other than that I wouldn't crash at all but now I can't turn on anyone's avis and I crash more that I used to there's literally no ups to this update for quest, hopefully they fix it soon

Another solution if you're trying to use wired would be forcing a driver update (drive you installed on:/Oculus/Support/oculus-drivers then run the application and re-open your oculus app) it can take a couple tries but'll give a temp fix

if it continues even after forcing a driver update doing a FULL uninstall then re-installing should fix any issues (general steps meta directly suggested to me) if you still get lag,non-stop loading or just full on disconnects then its either a PC or the VR's hardware causing issues in which case you should contact meta directly about it (and make sure to list all the steps taken previously to avoid dead responses)

Blame youtube for breaking it, also be aware that youtube could have flagged your ip address which just outright stops it from working unless you can login with a youtube account, which you can't on vrchat.

I think a reliable test for having a flagged ip would be to open a incognito tab in the Quest browser and trying to watch a youtube video without logging in, it won't let you if you are flagged.

VRChat relies on a piece of software called yt-dlp to make videos work, youtube is actively trying to make yt-dlp stop working because it circumvents ads and in recent years is allowing AI companies to scrape all of youtube which is costing youtube a lot of money.

While youtube doesn't like how we are using it either, the AI scraping is way larger and has made youtube fight harder.

Youtube's last resort is to just flag ip addresses, which they do on a regular basis, after a few weeks it might be removed.

If you need to login to watch youtube videos then you have been flagged.

Using yt-dlp only costs youtube money so from a business perspective it is the right thing to do, way easier to ban and control google accounts.

As long as there is a way to watch videos without logging in then yt-dlp will eventually work, which is why they resort to just outright blocking IPs that use yt-dlp a lot, but they realize a lot of viewers aren't logged in so they can't globally enforce that.

I have a rather specific question. 2 years ago I last used my Quest 2 Headset with Steam VR to access VR Chat and it was generally fine in terms of performance as long as I didnt have any other programs open on my PC. Now I havent used my headset since then until yesterday. After updating everything and using the same cable like 2 years ago I logged into VR Chat on Steam again but everything was lagging hardcore and choppy af. In those 2 years I did get an upgraded motherboard and a better graphic card, which I assumed would be ideal because I had no problems even with my old stuff. Can anyone help me in this issue? drive you installed the app on:/Oculus/Support/oculus-drivers then run the application and re-open your oculus app, it might take a few tries for it to properly work as it can sometimes break the audio

Happens to me, just hold down the power til ya hear it shut off, give the display a few seconds to catch up, then turn it back on and you're good

Got a new PC and for some reason I can't add OVR Advanced Settings space drag controls to my Quest 3 controller bindings for VR Chat. Assuming the test still works, go on your pc, open an incognito tab to youtube and try playing a video, if it asks you to login then there is very little you can actually do to fix it aside from waiting, you either wait for youtube to stop flagging your IP or get a new IP somehow, VPNs realistically won't work, those offering residental IPs may work or they just don't, it is a gamble.

If videos do work in incognito tab then the list filled with potentials why grows a whole lot.

But really sounds like your IP got flagged since both standalone and PC doesn't work.

Meta dropped support for Quest 1 last year so VRChat had to too.
PCVR still works of course, but I don't think SteamLink supports the Quest 1, Virtual Desktop does and I imagine Quest Link and Airlink, the official - less performant in SteamVR games - solutions still do.

Could sideload ALVR, not as good as Virtual Desktop or Steamlink, but it works.

hi, i’m perfect to talk about this! i bought one because my internet is fairly weak around the house, and i couldn’t use my wifi trackers at all. and no, it does not increase your speed. after buying it, my trackers connected great, but not faster. it just increases the range that it covers, so you will get better signal, but not better sped.

yeap, it is good to increase signal coverage but suitable for like....something not need to care about latency. (text browsing/ watching recorded video kind)
I personaly feel like few seconds delay added top of anything when someone's place using it.

*PLC (Poweline) but suitable if your area be 200V+ voltage area
*Add better wireless access point directly to existing router, so you get better speed even in other room.

if you can’t, then try to reduce the number of devices on your network to reduce congestion, but i doubt that will help a substantial amount.

Europe be usually 220V or 230V kind so PLC works. (but keep it 1:1 connection so you can get best, don't share PLC with other device at same time)

If you cannot run long wire to next room, this could be only option.....if you don't want to add other access point kind

you only need to plug adapter into power outlet, and connect 1 side to router, and other to PC, that's it.
