majority of creators arent Quest native creators but rather people who make PC content "quest compatible" if you can even call it that, the reason so many of the get security checked is because they're lazy

its a big issue with buying models for quest aswell because alot of stuff out there is just kit/assetbashed content not meant for any form of optimization

theres always a reason something gets flagged, .fbx file size,texture size,bounding box being too big etc

generally it'll tell you in the upload panel as a warning at the very least but thats also one of the reasons #avatar-help exists

the size of the bounding box needs to stay within certain limits so that you're not constantly rendering your model for people even if they arent looking at you

Low memory is Becuase the Avis you are using are very poor. Befroe hand you’d just crash instead would you like to crash instead of just gettin the low memeory message?

the "avi limits" havent changed in recent updates either and realistically would only effect the most unoptimized of avatars.. literally one of the better updates they did for quest

Yeah that was basically it, there’s also a limit on how many audio sources can actually play concurrently in the Unity Engine (it’s 32) and those will mostly be taken by avatar voices

most people complain about that when they first try it, its a mix of the strap being tight and the headset itself being really heavy (if you want to use it a bit more comfortably get a custom strap or something to counterweight for the back of your head imo)

Because the avatars are very poor optimization wise, you can only show them manually by clicking on them an force showing their avatar.

If we are still talking standalone VRChat then hand tracking will just work when you put down your controllers, assuming you haven't turned off hand tracking in your Quest's settings.

I am confused, were you originally talking about seeing those pixelated avatars when running VRChat standalone on your Quest?

When you run through Steam Link then you are making use of your PC and since it is vastly more powerful, and it is also unpredictable what hardware you have, the restrictions are far higher, practically not existing.

And I forget how hand tracing worked on Steam Link, might require beta Steam and Beta SteamVR.
Virtual Desktop just works though.

As said, very poor rated avatars can't be loaded automatically on Quest, needing to be forcefully shown to actually load in, assuming those avatars have a Quest version.

As for blurriness overall, that is just how it is, VRChat is a very heavy game and the resolution is lowered to make up for some of that, making especially the edges of your vision blurry.

about 2 to 2.5 hours depending on how energy consuming the world you are in is and how populated it is. i recommend the bobovr pro head strap with hot swappable batteries if you need longer. each battery provides about 2 hours extra time.

A Quest 2 that isn't linked to a PC tends to run poorly because VRC can be demanding depending on avatars. It also depends on your settings that you have (how far should someone's avatar render, highest quality that can show, etc). It'd be good to go into a public, change your settings and see how your Quest will run depending on who you let load automatically (no force-shows), and see what you're comfortable with basically

Update your firmware/program, and then you should contact Vive Support if it still shows as a Pro. I don't use Vive Trackers, and it is most likely a display error, but it would be better safe than sorry to check in with Vive and see if it's a error with the device and firmware.
(also make sure it works properly!! if it's just a name-display error & it works just fine like the other two, you're probably fine!!)

The Quest 1 ran standalone VRChat terrible, almost in every case unusable, VRChat only dropped support for it when Meta stopped providing support for it, they were unable to properly keep it updated at that point.

So for as long as Meta keeps it supported I would guess and considering the amount of Quest 2 headsets I assume that will be for quite a while.

But no one should be buying a Quest 2 anymore if they mean to use it for standalone VRChat, the Quest 3S is just superior.

• if you are lagging, try using an avatar with a Poor or better performance rank, and force showing less avatars

It can track your elbows and chest, and guesstimate the rest, better than normal IK, but not as huge as actual FBT, elbow tracking is nice though.
It is only available through Virtual Desktop, even though it is Quest feature.
VRChat standalone doesn't have it and neither does Airlink/Link, Steam Link and etc.

vrchat is very performance heavy so even some of the best "gaming" laptops out there would struggle with it, just keep your graphics low and have full safety on when playing to avoid overheating/crashing

The only thing I can think is you either have something running behind the game you are launching or your internet connection is preventing you from (fully) connecting. But again this is all in theory. You haven't stated any other details other than the screenshot

Annoying as it may be if I were in your shoes, I would uninstall the game reset your headset and reinstall it and hope for the best. Common fixes still are a solution when none are given

Im trying to use a Quest 3s from my pc at a distance, my router is connected to the PC but im having severe issues with stability and feels like im on dial up, how can I fix this? Do I need an extender? Or an access point? Or a repeater? The connection is good enough to be used for everything else but its not strong enough for vr chat from say behind two walls

I know you can use standalone and go with it but using it with a PC allows vive tracker emulation so id like to have that

Is there anybody who can help me? I don't know if it's just something up with my PC or my quest, but every time I join vrchat with steamVR 20 minutes later, some kind of lag or bug happens and an error occurs. It's so annoying. It tells me to restart steamvr again but then it's just the same thing over again, a bug happens and I end up restarting the game again. make sure your own avatar is not too laggy. if youre using a very poor one, try switching to a poor or better performance one to see if it goes away

-# also, max shield isnt always needed for performance. you can just set Avatar Maximum Download Size to 0 and youll be able to see impostors. much better than boring robots

I ran into this a couple of days ago. What you need to do is go to your library and manually add VRChat to it on the Meta Link app. You will have to manually navigate to your VRChat folder through steam or what have you and find the launch.exe Itll work fine after that.

When I get the Meta Logo with the three dots, I restart the HMD by holding the power button and when it pops up with the options click the dropdown and restart it. It usually works after restarting. The Meta Link software will throw a fit for a bit, then it buffs out and should work. Ive done it enough times that usually it takes five minutes or so of fighting to link to PC and then it just works.

It wasn't magic, because of the downsides with its type of dumb upscaling just reducing your render resolution can look better in VR.

On PC it is simple, you just use the streaming camera and some recording software, like OBS.
On Quest I am fairly sure the only way to record video is from your point of view using the Quest's own recording feature,

Record like PCVR and Desktop users? Desktop users use the Spout Stream camera. PCVR users use the Stream camera to have it focus on them. Quest standalone users can use the Personal or Face Mirrors to show themselves, but you are still recording from your POV.

You can make a 2nd account as your camera person.

The Quest 3S is almost literally a Quest 2, just with better performance

Same lenses, displays and even kind of shell.

You get a faster processor, more RAM and the newer controllers.

• Smaller size, it doesn't extend as far forward.
• Higher resolution
• Pancake lenses, you can look around with your eyes and things will stay unblurry, the Quest 2 lenses are bad in that they have a small sweatspot, outside of it everything is blurry.

I do want to note that the Quest 3S should have slightly better performance (or at least it should have the capability to be better), because of its lower resolution and it being the exact same processing hardware to my knowledge.

I think the Quest 3 is the better choice, but it is all about how much money you are willing to spend.

Oh right, the Quest 3s does have one built in benefit, it has a built in IR-illuminator, I don't know to what extent it would allow you to play in darkness, probably not complete darkness, but it should definitely be able to handle darkness better.

It's good to an extent, the controllers track themselves like the headset does and they communicate that way, instead of solely relying on the headset seeing it in space to track, it's a mix of the two, along with the IR light it is quite good at picking up your hands even at night

I am kind of confused by what you said, but you seem to be talking about the Quest Pro controllers that do track themselves just like the headset, the normal Quest 3 and 3S controllers just use IR LEDs on them to be tracked, just like the Quest 2's controllers, but without the ring.

The Quest 3 and 3S do however use the upper body tracking they have to fill in the gaps for where the controllers roughly are, when out of sight of cameras.

Context, the Quest 2's audio systems are perfectly good enough.

The audio is better than Quest 2, no need for headphones.
The microphone is alright, don't think it is as good as Quest 2, but it is good enough imo.

No, you need a proper VRChat account to do that.

You should migrate to a VRChat account, it will still allow you to login with your Oculus account, but the Oculus account will just be used as a key to the actual VRChat account.

i have question, i had some avatars that had sounds such as music or honks, but they dont seem to play when playing on my quest 3s, any way to make em sound?

(also, some way to be able to use headphones with quest 3s? i dont really love it having open speakers where everyone can hear everything)

i feel like using the headset on standalone makes the game go smoother than with my PC/being on desktop, i believe the quest 3s has better stuff than my PC(quite the potato pc tbh)

the PC would be entirely responsible for VRchat stuff the quest processor would only be handling like your headset tracking

nvm, just checked and i believe i have at least 1 3.0 connection port

yeah you kind of need a very fast like wireless connection to have a decent time doing VR streaming from your computer and question does your computer meet the hardware requirements to run VR

i believe that it barely get to the minimum

but it can run it nonetheless, i might need to hide some avatars, i believe PC doesnt have the "impostor" thing where you can kinda see the avatar

at least that was my experience on Desktop

Im quite curious about something, I’ve asked a lot of people what they use when playing pcvr on quest and some are saying steam link and others are saying virtual desktop, I’m not too sure about virtual desktop but I was told steamlink wireless is extremely laggy for quests so I was just curious about what anyone uses for pcvr on quest?

The person who told you that must have had a terrible setup for it then.
Both work perfectly well and including the benefit of it being wireless are better than playing wired, even if there is a smidge latency increase, one that you won't be noticing unless you play high level beat saber.

They were using the 3s and said steam link was pretty laggy

It is either SteamVR side or they just had a bad setup (Their wifi router is bad, their computer wasn't wired up to the router, they were using 2.4GHz wifi instead of 5GHz or etc)

It really isn't complicated.
You'd need a truly shit tier router for it to be the cause.
You need to use a 5GHz network, router usually names the 5GHz network "[name]_5GHz".
The computer needs to be wired to the router using Ethernet
