Alternatively you could buy a month of VRC+ and simply cancel the subscription(the benefits last until the next billing cycle. the rank boost is permanent however) as the rank boost is guaranteed to rank you up to the New User rank is you lack. even if linking your steam, oculus or Vive account doesn't rank you up I still recommend it as the hours played on the Steam, Oculus, or Vive account will still contribute to a degree possibly.

Whenever you connect to something, you don't ever (usually) connect directly to it. Your packets have to take a route through a number of other servers (endpoints) to get there, and if one/some of those endpoints are being slow/aren't working, you'll see connection issues, even if you can connect to other sites/games/etc just fine

You can get around the problematic endpoint(s) by using a VPN, waiting for it to fix itself, and/or changing DNS servers to see if whatever DNS server you're using isn't resolving some hostname(s) correctly

However there are some pretty cool preventative measures you can use to make using said avatars or worlds a living nightmare

In fact i haven't used OVRAS in a very long time so i don't really remember much how it did behave

I only know that i can go through the ceiling/floor with my built-in one of my avatar

I don't think you can actually go through walls through normal methods as your player capsule essentially decides where you'll collide

But a friend can do it horizontally (and when I try, my animation completely stops)
Wait, maybe that's it. I need to modify the avatar so that it doesn't disable IK without permission, ever

Going up/down doesn't move your player capsule, therefore you don't collide anywhere

Playspace moving through a wall however will let your capsule collide with it, which usually locks the avatar into place

I'm not sure if there are any methods of bypassing this behavior

Especially since I'm not able to test it due to missing fbt

Only if you leave any of the big menus (settings/social/safety etc) open and then move IRL or using playspace mover. You can't interact with anything in this state, your collider is frozen in place, so your avatar will be able to clip through anything. Once you close menu your avatar will be forced back to your capsule.

With non-humanoid avatars they will not follow you, but once you close menu they will instantly teleport to your capsule.

This was the last version to allow sitting on your own avatar, and when it was discovered, we had drivable cars (by error.mdl), Kerbal Space Program avatar which let you float around at any orientation (by Graelyth) and an Iron Man suit that let you fly around with your hands and feet (by Merlin):

I remember going to the Pug and seeing people floating around all over the place. It was so fun and random.
VRChat patched it a few days later, and we will never see such remarkable avatar tech ever again, but it was magical and beautiful to see and I want to make sure people don't forget the potential of what could be 🙂
