Literally... just... stand at the entrance of the world (a world with a decent spawn point) and greet people as they come in. For instance, in the Black Cat.

Stand behind the desk in front of the fountain and just say "Hi, welcome to the Black Cat. How are you doing?"

You'll get a lot of people who'll just wave you off or completely ignore you, though.

For me it took around 70 hours though this is most likely due to me being very introverted. It would be around 50 hours if I included my friends who were Furries but I only visit them if I'm invited, feels too awkward to temporarily use a Furry avatar. Most of the people I hang out with are mirror dwellers and or Social drinkers but they talk to each other at least. Most of my friends were found in Summer Solitude, Midnight Rooftop or MERroom.

ah kk - could also try switching from CPU lightmapping to GPU lightmapping (or vice-versa, depending on whichever you're already using) to see if it's just a resources issue? could also def try to reduce the amount of background tasks to keep memory usage down before baking

Every world works in desktop mode, aside from the vv rare Quest-only worlds - also there's no set time limit to get to upload avatars/worlds o:
You need at least New User rank ingame to upload public/private avatars and private worlds, and you need User rank to upload public worlds. Ranks are affected by many things, like friends added, worlds visited, avatars/worlds uploaded (if the account has permission) active hours and etc, along with not getting kicked/banned/muted/reported, etc

It's completely different for everyone but I'd hazard a guess and say 10-50 hours with a decent amount of friends'd sound right to get to New User

Depends on if you have a VR-ready PC. If you lack a VR-ready PC then the Quest 2 or whatever its successor is depending on how late you buy VR is your only option.

If you want the best VR headset overall get the valve index. Want Wireless PCVR while being Full-body tracking capable get the Vive pro 2 or Vive cosmos elite. Note for wireless function an additional accessory is required.

If you do get a Vive pro 2 or Vive cosmos Elite I would recommend getting Valve Index controllers (AKA Knuckles) especially if you plan to play VRchat mainly.

In the advanced performance settings, that's the maximum avatar size - some avatars larger filesize-wise than others, though the standard 200mb is more than enough
If you mean in the advanced settings (menu at the top-right of the settings menu, not the safety menu) that's the current size of your downloaded content cache, which is space taken up on your computer

yup! The content cache contains all the avatars and worlds you've seen, so that you don't have to download them again
It's much faster to load it from the cache rather than downloading it again, but as a result it takes up space on your system - clearing it won't clear your avatar favorites or anything

You can do mouth tracking with normal visemes, but it isn't ideal. Can't move jaw or tongue and such.
You'll always want extra blendshapes for proper mouth tracking support.

I have a question. My friend is using a quest with airlink to run pc vrchat. But for some reason when he looks down the head will rotate from the wrong spot causing his avatar to lift up awkwardly. Are you seeing this on the website, by the way?
The website should exist without Amplitude, as it's a non-important analytics tool.
Errors coming from our servers generally have a message attached with it like "Trying to login too many times. Try again later.", etc.
In the odd case like this one, there was no message sent along with it, but the error code is understood.

It looks like it's loading the home page (first request is GET /home which returns 200), but I might not be logged in, in which case it should have gone to the login page. Depends on what you have at your disposal, and what your budget is. If you have a low budget, something like a quest 2 would be decent, despite the Zucc observing you. It you have a bunch of cash and a good PC, go for something like the Valve Index.

Well, the Q2 is insanely good for the cost, despite the FB block, but the index is equally brilliant. only thing you would need to consider with that is having to set up 2 tracking cameras in the corners of your room.

I've got a bunch of headsets, I've owned almost all and currently have 6 headsets. I'd say the best headset right now in any market is the Quest 2. Higher pixel density/resolution than the Index, 120hz framerate, standalone or wired/wireless connection to a pc with very low latency, parental controls from a mobile app with extreme oversight, real hand tracking, etc. The Oculus platform uses less resources and is more stable IMO than SteamVR, but you can easily use SteamVR with Quest. A few mods ($50 on Amazon for a headstrap and more comfortable facemask) makes it super nice, wearable all day. Quest has built in features like calorie counting so even while you're in PCVR it will track how many steps you take, etc. And last but not least, Oculus has the best exclusive titles for its platform in the industry.

That was a straight up book, and I like my other headsets for different reasons. But the best all around headset is by far the Quest 2, no question, hands down.

Yeah it’s resource heavy, lacks Asynchronous Timewarp, Steam isn’t great at making VR software to begin with, and doesn’t support some basic stuff. It’s not terrible, and there’s a few benefits to steam right in specific ways. I just personally don’t think the few benefits outweigh the cost of not having Oculus

Inside out tracking is terrible. Facebook is known for collecting and selling user info to the extreme. Exclusives? What exclusives? You can at oculus games on other headsets as well. Support is terrible. They also don't honor the warranty, don't fix firmware or software bugs unless it hinders the store or makes the headset unusable visually (they leave audio bugs) I say this as someone who has used oculus since the cv-1 released

I’ve owned many headsets and only had a single issue with any of my Oculus line. They were quick to fix it. Now the issues with my Index are another story, but I won’t bother because that’s called “anecdotal evidence”. You weren’t there.m, so it’s not important. Yeah I used to use the novelty headsets but my index is sitting in a closet in my home office. The resolution is noticeably worse i#on my index and the screen door is off putting when I’m trying to read small text. Because I work from home in VRChat I need controllers that have good battery. The index or vive last a respectable 4-6 hrs on a single charge. My Oculus, with about 8-10hrs a day of use, last a week on a single charge.

Idk, in 6.5 years in VR I’ve not heard of that. I’d get rechargeable for one, and two get a good brand. I think I bought mine for $15 at Best Buy 3 years ago, and they came with 4 batteries and charger. Those still work fine and last about a week

Yeah I’ve never heard of it before. My rift cv1 still works, and I liked it for what it was back then. I have a rift S and quest 1/2

I used Tenavolts AA rechargeable batteries I bought from Amazon for my Rift S controllers . Besides me getting unlucky with a defective battery and it being a company from a certain country the batteries themselves lasted for around 2-4 days with non-defective batteries. The defective one only lasted 1 day at most. Each play session was between 3-5 hours.

You’re gonna love that Quest 2! The index is neat too as a novelty, but you’ll notice the difference in quality of the screen and resolution right away

I like signing into FB, I don’t mind. I don’t want them to waste 4billion on Research a d Development just to make something I won’t buy. I don’t mind and I like messaging in FB while in VR

But I use it with my gaming PC so I get 120hz in everything

If I use VRChat with steam, I get 70-90fps, if I use Oculus VRChat I get 120hz (Asynchronous Time Warp is wonderful)

I think maybe twice. There’s exclusive titles for Oculus and Quest I’ve tried that are nice

I wanted to get the quest two and use my full body for wireless VR but I'm told you can't do that
