Network related bugs are tricky as its not always VRchats fault your packets are dropping or vanishing.
Just like with the 11Fps bug they fixed right now, they didnt cause the bug themself but still have to deal with it.

It's not strictly time-based - friends, worlds visited, avatars/worlds uploaded (if the account has permission) and active hours all help, alongside not getting banned/kicked/muted/reported, etc
It's completely different for everyone, but I'd hazard a guess and say 10-50 hours with a decent amount of friends'd sound right to go from Visitor to New User (the rank at which you can upload avatars) c:

Hello, I need some help with an avatar issue. I must've pressed a random button or something but my avatars that are for pc users only are now showing up as a "Quest skin?" Basically my pc avatars are now a minecraft panda thing whereas to me the skins are the same like normal. But when I go to the pc avatars there is now a new option to either "Hide quests" or "open quests". When I press "open quests" it shows that panda thing. Is there a way to fix this? I am kind of worried that my pc avatars will stay like this

The only times the fallback displays is if you're wearing an avatar without a Quest asset, and a Quest users is viewing you.
There is no other time that the fallback will display.

For me, I did the diagnostic equivalent of spazzing out, and used the SteamVR Development settings menu to reset all of my devices, just cause I couldn't think of anything else to do diagnostically, and after resetting steamVR it worked again for me, though I'm still not 100% sure if me doing that was the fix, or simply restarting SteamVR.

looks like something got changed in the recent patch and now the Locomotion layer lots of peeps use causes this. The preview shows the initial state, regardless of wether you're desktop, VR or FBT. The initial state in said Loco layer is an empty clip, thus the motorcycle pose. Before this patch there wasn't any issues with the preview.

To upgrade to a VRChat account, do the following:
- Log into VRChat with your Steam/Oculus account
- Open your quick menu, then select Settings
- Near the bottom of that menu, you'll see a button to "Upgrade Account"
- Click that and you will get your token.
- Go to the website and create a VRChat account. Enter your merge token and everything will be migrated over.
From this point log out of the game and only log in using VRChat.
Have you logged into the game with your Steam account or VRChat account?

If you are logged in with Steam, and if your account is already not migrated, then an "Upgrade Account" button should be visible in lower-right corner of the settings menu.

CATS Material combiner keeps making 8k maps
It's due to spacing, CATS has a stupid minimum distance, so instead of creating a 1024x2048 it creates a 4096x4096 or even 8k texture.

It's been a while since I used material combiner, but there should be settings controlling the size of gaps between images, and by default possibly set to 2px, you want to set that to zero, it only adds overhead.

This is a bit late, but you should consider buying a lot of 5x2mm, circular/cylindrical neodymium magnets.

I'm kind of tired. Anyway, they're for the face gasket positioning so you can adjust the alignment of your face to the lenses.
Also maybe get some 3D printed cable management clips for the headset so it's sturdier and well positioned.
