I have a WMR hp headset and controllers. The WMR portal runs fine with good frames. To go into vrchat, I open the portal, go into steam, open steamvr, open the steamvr WMR plugin, and then through steamvr home I go into vrchat. It is extremely laggy, and it looks like I am looking through a big hole in a black screen. It constantly goes back to steamvr for a couple seconds and has the vrchat logo with a loading symbol. I’ve waited in the lobby with like only 1 person and I still have the same amount of frames. I have a 1050 ti, i5 7600k, and 8 gb of ddr4 2 channel hyperX ram. Help me please I just want to touch people. I have no idea which channel this belongs in, I just hope someone can help

Unless I'm mistaken, someone who sniffed out an avatar ID and put it on an avatar pedestal in a world. However since now you can make your avatar ID private to your account only, that's not an issue anymore
If the user in question haven't done that yet, then that's on them
All avatars previously uploaded to the change are still marked as "public", however you can easily reflag it in unity

@indigo fern I had that problem a lot with the Vive's standard foam. Cleaning it with antibacterial wipes every week helped reduce the skin irritation.
Now I've switched to using this replacement foam https://vrcover.com/product/htc-vive-foam-replacement-6mm/
and I rarely ever get serious irritation anymore. Plus cleaning it is super easy, just wipes down.

The majority of what VRChat has to do is kinda stuck on one processor core. I think this is mainly due to Unity 5 and DirectX 11.
I've heard people more educated than I when it comes to lower-level graphics/general processing say that later versions of unity that can use newer graphics APIs like DirectX12 and Vulkan get quite a performance boost.

if its mainly on a single core then maybe setting up a scrip that sets if affinity to only core 4 for example and removes all other processes affinity of that core might help with performance
also you can run it in realtime on only that core then
without risking system performance conflicts

Yeah, that's something I thought of as well. Just give it a core all to its own so there's no competition for resources there. Although I'd kinda expect (HAHA NO) windows to shift things off a core that's got a single process that's using as much as possible.

Plus we had a pretty significant one with the unity 5.3-5.6 update last year. (Desktop users wouldn't have felt a thing since it was Single-Pass Stereo I was paying attention to)
