It runs fine playing WOW on 4k, but there are times in VR in VRC where it feels like it struggles (Virtual Desktop reporting latencies going fairly high (24-40ms) in moderately busy sims)

VD set to moderate quality. Network latency < 4ms due to having a dedicated Access Point connected to the computer's ethernet.

It's definitely not CPU, CPU history while VRC runs is like 2-5%.

Also, keep in mind VRC has a very heavy game logic thread so overall CPU usage will be deceiving on high core count machines. You'll want to look at the highest usage on any given core.

2fa was a mistake. every time I try to check the website, it asks for email verification. now I just use any app using the api instead, as it does not. same with the Unity sdk login, they just log straight in and thank god for that. have even stopped using the website now, too much of a hassle and I don't want the verification app

Missing/hidden files for certain parts of the model around the torso/waist, and some of the textures when viewed in the Unity program not lining up correctly.

There’s more to it, but I’d have to go back and look at it again to see what else is there that I’m having issues with.

I still find it surprising that this was not by release a thing, or at least already is on official roadmap.

We have individual security/moderation options for all kinds of other things and a text popup should obviously be considered abusable.
Only option atm is to completely disable it for literally everyone which includes mutes that genuinely want to communicate.

That's a solution to really tererrible missuse with rule breaking stuff, but not people who just use it for annoying text.

You harm either your own and the users experience by hiding/blocking/causing phantom conversations through it

Or if you disabled it generally, that you can not see mutes trying to communicate and thus also the mutes experience cus... well... they can't communicate and usually already are anxious enough as is.

Really it's a big warning for world creators who have X3D. You can easily add many materials, dynamic objects, udon scripts, and not even have any slowdown, but non X3D CPUs will just die there

It's not just transfer speeds. Latency is also a factor. GPUs connect directly to VRAM via traces on the PCB. Storing data on an NVME SSDs necessitates interfacing with a controller that abstracts away the NAND and has its own DRAM

Further, on current platforms at least, in order for the GPU to use system memory as VRAM it needs to ride the PCIe bus up to the CPU and then the CPU basically mediates memory access from there. It's a real shitshow.
