Yo I don't think I've ever really messaged in this server but, how many of you guys are actually still playing VRChat with the EAC update? Personally I tried opening the game saw the EAC, the game didn't load up do to EAC detecting my client and I haven't tried to play again since. I've been playing this game since late 2017 or 2018 I cant remember, but I'm a bit disappointed with this recent update. They've tried working around it based on feedback, and ignore that the best option is to remove it entirely and have the report system actually mean something, instead of banning clients entirely (Punishing everyone for the few). I love this game and have made so many friends but I don't even feel like launching the game now. The game was fine before VRChat tried to enforce security. Why try to fix something that's not broken? If anything it was a big part of the community of VRChat. VRChat is killing its community, I find myself just hanging out with my friends outside of VR now and in discord having way more fun. It shouldn't be this big of a deal but VRC really needs to listen to their community and stop pretending that making small changes will fix anything. I know it doesn't matter, but after being in this server for so long and joining it on accounts that I've went through on discord over the years I'm leaving this server and I encourage other people to do so until they start listening instead of saying they are. As far as it being the only thing against the platform is a subjective matter. People will be upset for different reasons, and sometimes the reasons mesh together into a crescendo that almost sounds like a unified disapproval of something.
How bad that thing is in the general public's eyes is the variable, and people are quick to give kneejerk reactions to literally anything which tends to fade over time and they will either A) stick to their guns or B) suck it up and deal with it.

With the case of VRChat? Going from Overwhelmingly positive to mixed is like throwing a stone into a black hole. We see it, EVERYONE is seeing it circle around, it likely wont go away for a long time, but in the grand scheme, it's not going to effect much.

find the EAC folder on your computer and delete the EasyAntiCheat.sys file usually under the C:\programfiles x86/EasyAntiCheat

That error occurs when the application fails to create a file where the EAC folder is located

Your pictures are still there! They are now being saved to sub-folders based on the year and month.

Just look in your Pictures folder > VRChat > [Year-Month]

you have two routes ahead of you, buying some assets and kitbashing or commissioning. the best sites for buying assets are booth and gumroad. I personally prefer booth since most gumroad assets go towards TDA bases whereas booth assets are focused on a wide variety of bases that are, you guessed it, also on booth. it could come down to style in the end. as most people have said avatars tend to come down to $25-$35 per base and, at least for booth, $10-$20 for any addons such as custom clothes and what not. but for the really popular or high quality models on booth you can expect them to cost a little higher, maybe $30-$45 or so. it's always been like this, but recently moreso due to the value of the yen dropping (booth is a japanese marketplace so pray that paypal works for you that day or open up a rakuten account)

if you start bashing stuff together they're always going to take some work, and i'm not just saying for optimization sake but some assets by their nature need to be properly combined in blender before they are added to your model. most booth artists are competent enough that you can probably get away with hitting "optimize" on the many and numerous unity-specific vrchat avatar optimization tools that people keep making

if you commission someone expect the price to skyrocket. you can commission someone who makes vrchat avatars, but i would personally recommend you commission a 3d artist who does more than just vrchat (if you like anime type stuff commission vtuber artists) and just specify to them that it has to follow vrchat conventions, so unity humanoid armature hierarchy, has to have at least enough visemes for you to set up lip sync and blinking with CAT's, should be below <70k triangles, should have most or all of the textures atlased, etc.

but at that point, we are easily talking $1000 minimum. if its really worth it to you then by all means

if you already have experience with avatar stuff you can save money on a commission by only asking for a mesh, or for textures, you can receive it in parts and then finish with your own rig and what not

it will also take a while

as for my experience? i really like my booth model, i regularly find booth models or assets i'd like to own that i unfortunately cannot afford 0n0 so id say it's worth it if you spend a lot of time making vrchat avatars but don't have time to always do things by hand

Be aware learning 3d modelling is not something you learn in a few days. To make something "really cool" you might need several months and potentially many years

Depending on what you want.
Most people don't have years to invest into this, which is why they pay instead .
Prices will also depend on what you want, usually in the few hundreds

and there are blender tools which can auto create everything you need for lip syncing as long as you have 3 blend shapes

@tidal mist I highly recommend kitbashing you can get a ton of good results and you learn as you go! Plus with kitbashing if you get an avatar made for you in the future you'd be able to use that knowledge to modify it later as you like!

For custom avatars it can cost thousands of dollars not hundreds, really depending on the quality, amount of features, etc. Also when doing commissions always ask for a portfolio, check the creators socials, and see if you can find any shout outs. VRC Traders is a good place to start.

The issue is when name plates flash in or warp (like people using a teleport in a world or fast loading plates) it flashes enough to trigger a seizure and I don't know how to get around that. I have plates off atm after having a seizure but if the bug happens while I have my quick menu open...

I appreciate it, just wish there were more options, especially because the issue I've noticed seems to be solely down to icons not being able to be disabled without disabling name plates outright, plates aren't so bad because they can be transparent but icons are blocks of colour and there's nothing you can do about it if you happen to have quick menu open at the wrong time
