Well, my suggestion would be use the landscaping tool, as the similar symptoms could be from the lack of Blend Layer or unpainted surfaces.

so when i'm importing sprites into my character for movement in side scroll game, when i walk left the sprite animation was to the other direction (walk right) , is there a way to flip the sprite without manually flipping it in photoshop to create a new sprite ?
Iโm trying to learn UE4 but I keep running into a visual problem with some of the pop ups. Any of the pop up windows disappear visually right as I open them. I can still use them but itโs just invisible. Iโm currently using version 4.26.2.
That is the window I am referring to. I do have my graphics card up to date. When I tried to look into it it seemed that some people said it may just be a issue with the version I am using but sometimes it will work fines for a few days then on others it will break every fifteen minutes or so.

Hi guys, i'm creating a prototype for a game with Top Down camera but i want to move the character with keyboard (WASD) and the character rotate to the mouse location.
Any tutorial/video for make the movement forward, walk back, etc based on the character direction, etc?
You could remove the AI move to and click direction functionality, and replace it with the third person template code.
Both template uses Character class, which has Character Movement Component inherited, so even bodge pasting should able to get you started. Make sure the input mapping in Project Settings matches though.

Okay, first, the stock Blend Space doesn't put strafing and backward walk into account, so you need to get that covered on your own.
Second, you can set control rotation relative to mouse position by repurposing the "move on click" function. I forgot what exactly the nodes are, but you'd want to turn the mouse screen space into world space, and turn the control rotation facing to the mouse position.

Wild guess. But on your character there will be some movement code. Save a variable called speed. Use that instead of set amounts. Then in your trigger area just change the variable for speed.

I have a few meshes made in blender and what to use in unreal. Should I import every one as an actor with a meshcomponent or should I have one actor with multiple mesh components? Is there even a big difference? They are all just static meshes standing there

it depends on what you're talking about, if it's one single object with multiple parts then you should probably export it as one SM to reduce the number of actors since they would all be shown at the same time but if it's multiple things it's better to not bundle them together so that they can be culled

if you can use one actor with multiple components it would be better for performance as multiple actors would have their associated code running (although I'm pretty sure it'd be minimal)
but I'm not sure about this either honestly
you should probably go with which one feels better to work with and modify imo and not really think about performance too much
as long as you don't have stuff in the tick function on blueprint you should be fine

I actually doen't use blueprints. I create everything from c++, so it doesn't really matter for me if I create one actor + components or multiple actors. I feel like one actor might be a bit more lightweight too. But I guess the usual workflow would be to drag stuff in the scene creating one actor per mesh.
Ah. That is why the nanite showcases are deserts, primarily. You can put them on grass and trees, but they cannot bend or blow in the wind. The transforms can move, but the shader material doesn't support world offsets.

It's a Co-Op FPS realistic game about a group of people called the Jacoblins. Their home was destroyed by the other countries such as the United States, UK, Brazil, China, Japan and more. They seek revenge for what they have done and plan on taking control of all the countries. They first seek out their plan against the US and is in thr midst of kidnapping the president. When a Code Red Emergency was called upon by the president. You and your partner must protect the president and seek out the Jacoblins and take them down.
So I am really needing a experienced programmer to help me finish the prototype. Rates will be negotiated once interviewed. I have started the prototype but I need a more experience programmer. I will greatly appreciate if there is anyone out there who is able to complete the task.

@latent sonnet you need to make a dynamic material instance, use some kind of index parameter in your master material that can switch off the faces with an offset in the UVs and you should be set

The role of UV Channels for rendering Static Meshes, and how you can work with them in the Unreal Editor.
I think you might be able to use UV channels with each channel having a different face as the UVs of the head
