@ancient hare no clue what a hyperwallet is, but k, thanks!!
ill message them now
this site?
It's the one owned by paypal I think, probably that one.
You should try searching your email inbox with "discontinued" or "hyperwallet" as the keyword.
If you were registered as a seller before that, you might have received the announcement
Could someone explain to me what this does? https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/interior-mapping-shader
Have you seen Matrix Awakens demo/CitySample, or Spiderman PS4?
It's basically faking interior view on buildings but better looking
ah oki that is something i do need
Average cube map?
guys the marketplace support team has been inactive for a while
what is going on or am I the only one experieneing that lol
one of my product is still one pending approval for 5 days it usually takes 1 or 2 days
and i sent them 2 emails i got no reply
one was sent yasterday and other the day before it
is that usual ? that didn;t happen to me before
@pale agate
I got similar issues last week, they usually respond very fast, these last few years, but lately it's either slow or no response.
Maybe they're just a bit low on staff or focusing on something else at the moment, maybe.
okay
What is the oldest unreal version that i should be in for the market right now ?
Isn't it, the last 3 version?
4.26 maybe?
mmmmmm any other opinion ?
In our case, we support up to 4.21, but that's just because we're working our project in 4.21, and not that many things were broken in later versions, aside from some differences in behavior of the new chaos physics and lighting in ue5.
@pale agate
What's the marketplace asset type? The one you're having problem with at the moment.
am not haveing problem but i wanna ship to the wider audience am doing materials and environments
you do VFX ?
No, we do blueprints and animation.
5 days are pretty long to me personally, but dunno, maybe just wait a bit more?
Or cancel the submission and resubmit?
๐ good luck, hope you got some response
thank you sir ^^
Is there any way to verify whether a user have actually purchased a marketplace asset?
Mostly because I just saw some of of our assets being placed in a shady site outside of the marketplace.
Not sure whether its pirated or not, but at least I want to make sure that our paying customers are actually the ones being given proper technical support from our side.
if you found your assets on a shady side
for sale
then you MUST tell epic about this.
they are the ones who must judge this
as it is strictly forbidden
Was planning on doing that as a last resort actually.
Would prefer if there's a better way though.
We did send an email to epic about this, last month I think.
No response so far.
Then again, I don't think piracy can be stopped completely.
I just at least want to make sure the paying customer get the support privilege that they fairly deserved.
Not MP review?
MP question is accessible to anyone.
Wait, there's a key icon?
Let me check.
Ah, okay, I see the key icon next to the username.
Thanks Laura.
Damn man that sucks
Yep.
That aside, did you get the response from marketplace support yet?
Any existing asset page that you got on the marketplace?
yeah
Link?
(It's not against the rule to share the link right?)
well we can try lol
tehre is a channel for it
i shared it in #released @ancient hare
Ok, taking a look.
All in Substance? No third party assets?
@pale agate
In our case, we submitted 3 assets so far, 2 live on the marketplace, but yeah, it took only 1-2 days for approval back then, the last one took longer in response however, not sure why.
More or less, the last one was a bit slower in response, the submission initially got rejected, I sent some questions to confirm things to support, usually they answer in 1-2 days, but no support response for 5 days this time.
Though in my case, I resubmitted things again anyway after around 4 days, and the resubmission got approved around 2-3 days afterwards.
Still a bit longer than the previous ones though.
damn
Maybe they're a bit busy or lacking in staff at the moment, who knows
Was this the passworded zip? What was the issue in the end?
Yeah, in my case it was the passworded zip, tried to confirm what's wrong to marketplace support, but they don't give any response even after 5 days, so I just give it another go without the password.
yup i guess so
Any ideas why I keep getting Install Failed on free assets? I click add to project, then it downloads then it says some files already exist do you want to overwrite them. I click yes, then it says it failed.
Is your project in source control? Are those files set as read only?
source control is disabled
Was it in source control previously?
Files might still be marked read only on disk
nope. It's not like I already had these assets or something, it happens on the first attempt to add it to my project.
I don't know the vigilante assets, but sometimes related assets from the same maker contain the same files, materials etc
Have you added another vigilante asset?
I only got one to work and like 6 or 7 different ones failed
Ok, so that's a yes?
there is a shared assets folder though
Check your directory and see if those files are marked read only
Check you can rename a file, and then rename it back. Make sure the permissions in windows are ok
The folder structure is VigilanteContent>(Shared,Vehicles)
the folder Shared is read only but if I uncheck it and click apply
it just goes back to read only
although I can rename the files but only if I close the editor
So that's the solution I guess
Can't have the editor open
Just tried it again with the editor closed and it worked
Hey peeps,
Quick question, if I was to put a plugin on the marketplace for free, does it still appear in reports when people download it or is that strictly for items that have a price?
also for free ones
Thank you ๐
Can I suggest to any 3D modellors out there some generic and/or grimble style shapes? This would be so useful for kitbashing vehicles, robots, weapons, buidlings, etc. I'm really suprised by the lack of this in the marketplace.
The best example I could find is air conditioning units and a few odd crate assets.
There are some kits on artstation etc however they're often not UV unwrapped and or exported as individual model.
I think Epic just expanded the amount of items you can have on your Marketplace Wishlist
yea, I kinda expected way more kitbashing packs over the years, but it is surprisingly lacking.
Sorry, my vocabulary might be a bit off here, what's a grimble?
More like greebles ๐
Greeble, you mean, something like basic building blocks like gunpla kits and lego?
That's the best guess I can find after looking for greeble in wikipedia.
It's as meaningful as floccinaucinihilipilification
My head hurts, I'll just assume that's not dutch~
its not.
"the action or habit of estimating something as worthless."
Thank you for the confirmation Luos, very kind of you.
even though ive heard it before, had to google the english meaning of it anyways XD
Really ๐ฎ about time!!!!!!!
Any staff members here?
Not the ones for the marketplace.
E-mail address is somewhere in the pinned messages
i have the email address
am a bit stressed about losing money lol
it takes for ever to contact them via email
usually they reply within 24h
Is there a set resolution/dimensions for a marketplace asset thumbnail?
I believe 165 x 165
Huh? That's tiny. Just to be clear, I'm talking about these thumbnails
Yep, it's super small
oh wow
Might be 256 x 256 but I doubt it
This is pretty old but I find it hard to believe that 165x165 is the resolution, maybe 256x256. Can someone double check for me? I haven't opened up a shop yet because my product isn't quite ready so I can't find it myself
Thumbnail is 284x284

Hi, I was wondering something, im gonna soon do a 2d platformer template, what would be a good price ? it will have basic player with health jump and basic movement and invincibility when hit, enemies (with a respawn if wanted) that can either just walk forward and change direction when there is a wall (will fall if there is a hole), one that detect hole and change direction when there is one , and one that can do both and while shoot when the player is in front of it, there while be a thing to bounce off the enemies when "crushing" them too
Hi, is this the right channel to post a tender?
Nope. See #instructions for the jobs section.
Look at the marketplace, compare what you are doing, decide on how much your time and effort is worth and divide by number of customers and then... well basically only you can decide what something you have made is worth.
ok thanks ^^, I didn't saw any template like me on the marketplace and it will be my first thing I sell so I wanted to see if I could get more information ^^
Consider that we have no info to judge, other than a couple of lines of text above. No one can know if your pack is any good, so no one can comment properly.
yeah you are right ^^, I was just surprise to not see any other 2d platformer template so I though that asking here would be the best to get some information
There are several 2D templates in the marketplace, search using "2D", "sidescroller", "sidescrolling", "template".
Use a search engine, don't rely on the marketplace searchbar, it's somewhat unreliable.
Try also "2D", "platformer", "kit".
It's all there if you use a search engine.
Oh I though looking in the marketplace searchbar while give me all the result
thanks ^^
Use https://orbital-market.com/ for easier time searching through.
The vanilla marketplace's fuzzy search is spotty at best.
Didn't know this exist, thanks.
Let's see...
It's even more detailed than the official marketplace, direct link to youtube videos as well as a list of price history.
Hey is this an accurate data of the popularity in Unreal Marketplace
@sturdy hawk might know more. I personally don't use Orbital that much (or shopping in the UE marketplace really)
I really need an accurate data for my market research purposes
It's a math formula that take into account average rating, total rating and day since release
https://github.com/hugoattal/OrbitalMarket/blob/6664577de158cc59f80c781abc448d7a0fa49359/backend/src/modules/product/lib/score.ts#L36
Thanks!
Um Im not a coder but how do I use this
@sturdy hawk
Basically, it's just the formula to get a popularity score. It reads as:
meanRatingยฒ + sqrt(totalrating / (elapsedDays + 30)) * 1000 + 1 / (elapsedDays + 30) + 1
meanRating = number of stars (eg 4.8)
totalRating = number of reviews (eg 34)
elapsedDays = days since release (eg 450)
Then, when you do a search, product are sorted according to this score
Ohhh I see
A few precisions:
- if the product is free, totalRating is divided by 10
- if the product has an orbital market link, its score gets 50% up
gotcha, thanks!
50%?
That's a pretty brutal seo advantage.
Cause my goal is I want to make assets that also everyone ends up needing it or wanting it and etc so Im trying to study what assets does people love
Yeah, I wanted marketplace author to advertise Orbital Market with this, but very few actually did it...
You can see the ones that did it with this search: https://orbital-market.com/search?searchText="orbital+market"
Do note that each developer have wildly different needs, it's not that closely same with selling a finished game.
@sturdy hawk I'm assuming you're hugoattal at github?
I suppose but just imagine knowing what people want is a powerful tool
You could take a look at this forum topic, people ask for what they want: https://forums.unrealengine.com/t/marketplace-content-what-would-you-like-to-see-from-the-community/8576/950
The Annual Marketplace Creator Guide Lets make 2022 The year of selfhosted[No third parties] gaming! ah useful!
Wasn't sure how trustworthy the site was initially.
Would have helped and a bit more convincing if you add some landing page explaining what the site does on a noscript version of the site.
Also help if there was one of those "fork me at github" badge on the top right side of the page, if you want to make people realize it's open source more obviously, instead of putting the details at the bottom.
My 2 cents.
Thanks @sturdy hawk if ever I got questions ur the man!
Thanks for the feedback! The Github link at the top right corner is not visible enough I guess ๐ ...
I'm not sure about what you meant about the trustworthiness since you can't buy anything and it's just a search engine ๐ค
Anyway, thanks again, I'll think of adding a "fork me" badge somewhere if it doesn't mess up the design ๐
I know several non-computer-savvy people who loved using random search engines that they found on the net and "add it" to their browsers because they got a link that promise to help them search easier.
Most often come with dangerous and intrusive consequences to their pc's health, trojan and stuffs.
Letting people know you're open source will boost your site trustworthiness by a high margin.
Also, I don't see any github link at the top actually, there's only one at the bottom footer in my case.
Weird... don't you have this one?
Nope, this is how it looks.
Using Brave, considered Chrome I guess.
Ah, on the front page! (It's weird that you're missing the logo btw...)
I should test a bit more with other browers
Scripts not blocked, but it said that 3 trackers got blocked, maybe the image was blocked because the browser considered it a tracker?
So has anyone used this? I'm looking for a good way to do proper attack hitboxes and this might be the solution I need:
Hum that's very likely the google fonts, because I use zero tracker... (only backend monitoring)
Brave worked fine on my end
Also a description below the logo could help
An enhanced search engine for Unreal Marketplace
Is the logo vector graphics? svg?
Yes! (SVG)
That might be why it didn't show up in my case.
is it possible to generate keys in the unreal marketplace, to be able to give customers an asset for free on the marketplace?
(unfortunately) No.
I've received products for free before. The seller had to contact Epic via email, and needed the email address associated with my account. They show in my library in the launcher just like purchased products. The seller had to agree to discourage me from leaving a review
In addition to the above, it is possible to get keys, however you'd need to contact epic to see about that. At least one Humble Bundle has had Unreal marketplace redeemable keys.
thank you for all the tips
Hi guys! I wanted to announce, that my new plugin just launched on Marketplace ๐
It allows to create UI navigation visually without building any blueprints or C++. Take a look at the plugin and let me know your thoughts!
https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/7db85b88d64b40a9aa80f0c59702c67c
Post it on #released instead.
Sure, thanks ๐
Do whale exist in UE marketplace ?
You mean ppl with a lot of money?
I'm guessing he meant the mammal.
Theres multiple whales on market
could i use assets from marketplace in unity or they are limited to be used in unreal engine only
Consult to Unity Asset Store's ToS and EULA.
https://unity3d.com/legal/as_terms
https://assetstore.unity.com/browse/eula-faq
no i was talking about the opposite using marketplace assets in unity environment
You're a spy!!
As long as it's not marked as UE-Only content (especially those provided by Epic), you can use it elsewhere. Though it would be nice if you use them within Unreal.
Also some vendors would provide the assets directly in Unity Asset Store as well, so cut down the middlemen if you can.
i tried to learn unreal because of the great assets but it seem there is less community than unity i found it hard to learn
so yeah that why am wondering if i could
Well, Unreal has quite a few of learning resources, we have them in pinned messages.
But I'm not an evangelist, so you do you.
I never knew that, thanks for the tip
Spy
does anyone know of really solid, clean, networked first and third person shooter kit? not true FP either
DM or directly reply if anyone got somethin :)
Lyra probably your best bet
thanks
where is refund option for an asset?
you have to contact the seller to request one, if that does not pan out, contact marketplace team.
unless the content you obtained ended up being ripped/pirated, then contact marketplace right away of course.
See here for more info: https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/marketplace-guidelines#43
What is multiplayer compactible ? Means full blueprint ?
??
multiplayer means multiplayer
2 options:
- the seller is reasonable and will refund you when you ask if there was something wrong
- spend hours of your life trying to prove to the marketplace team that something is wrong with an asset to get a refund
I can tell you one seller that didn't refund me and there were a ton of issues
And it was quite expensive too
Leartes Studios
Actually no it was just that one pack that I bought from them it seems
cuz I have another one which was fine
So basically bee careful when buying from them I think they work with like 100 different people so it's a lucky draw with this one

Can any marketplace 3D modelling peeps make some kitbashing part sets (like this but even more generic)?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnkijB4x4qk
It would be amazing for robots, drones, machines, vehicles, buildings, etc. I'm suprised nobody else has made something generic like this, just generic cyberpunk/scifi/modern shapes people can kitbash with would be so useful, especially now with Nanite.
Create your spaceships with a Spaceship Kit constructor. Pack includes 200 unique parts plus 20 blueprints of completed ships.
Available here: - https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/product/cd86c068352e462d876c70449982d389
Yes but Im not sure how many people would use it in their gamea. Kitbashing is used in concept art or rendering
There are ton of kits over internet.
I think they would use it if it existed,. Something usable for a wide variety of models has more usecase
Yeah I have a bunch but often they're not UVunwrapped or they come in this large blender file that require modifications just to export them individually
๐ Is there a way to upload a character asset for free on epic games?
I can't select free
You can't.
For content type listings, you have to contact Epic on making it free. In the meantime, set it to the lowest price of $4.99
Only code plugins can be made free right away
Okay, thanks, but that means I can theoretically upload it for free?
damn you really want to not get paid XD
People have their reasoning to give away things for free.
Though maybe you deem it too generous
XD haha yea, it's just a fun asset
how do I contact Epic Games for that?
email them. check pinned messages. ๐
Hi Guys can anybody talk to me about how to create and publish assets on Market place ?
There is a refund form on the marketplace FAQ.
Usually, they will ask the creator before the actual refund unless some conditions. Like accidentally purchase or so.
or just read the actual guide lines I linked which covers it all, in the words of Epic themselves ๐
where do you guys usually upload an asset for publishing it on marketplace?
google drive is not compatible
D:
Google drive works.
Hey guys I'm experimenting on making new stylized assets to release in Unreal but my only bottle neck is SM6 is the only thing that supports transparency in nanite for leaves Im still figuring out a way to be available for both SM5 and SM6
leaves shouldnt use transparency. they should use masked/two sided foliage.
thats the thing sm5 doesn't support mask either for Unreal
have u guys figured out how to approach trees?
then dont enable nanite, and update pack when it does
I suppose man nanite is a burden currently
Still tech in development. Also nanite seems to be excuse for lazy too frequently.
How can I submit models to Quixel Bridge?
also didn't they say use for foliage not recommended?
well its not being lazy its also the fact that I want to give customers good value for there money selling unoptimized environments isn't an excuse
hey, is there a way to check if any Marketplace assets I use have been updated? or when they were last updated?
go to the epic games launcher, go to library, and go to the "i" and it will tell you if it has been updated to your version, other than that I don't think so
if they add a major update they would put in the description though for sure
I love how active this community is
Hey, is there a way to make a listing with an external link only like this one ?
need to contact the marketplace team for those things.
okay thanks
:triangular_flag_on_post: hellatze#2717 received strike 1. As a result, they were muted for 10 minutes.
What is the process of submitting a plugin to the marketplace?
I'm running into an issue in the marketplace. Cretain projects I creatre only create the config and content folder. There's no project file to open and the project doesn't show in the launcher. It happened before with another project recently but I thought it was the project, now it's happened again I guess it's to do with the launcher.
Is it possible/allowed to share marketplace assets (in the vault) between multiple people in the same company? i.e. one person purchases the assets, and multiple people (within the same company) receive it in their vault?
If it's an asset pack, you can share it in your private project repo
Right, so it's cool to share the actual files, just no way to actually add it to others' vaults?
Nope
The only exception is code plugins
Nope as in... what I said is correct?
You can't share vault, just the actual assets within a project. And the point of clarity there is if it's a company account. You cant just hire a bunch of contractors and have them all contribute stuff from their vault. Atleast that's my understanding
Correct. The company itself [or the person / entity hiring the contractors] must supply the assets. People working for someone else / company / other entity cannot use or share any of the assets they own.
So is it not kosher to add marketplace code plugins to the project folder and share that?
the legalese says yes and this help document says no
plugins are per-seat. iow, need to buy it for everyone using it.
and using means anyone involved in the project's development in any way?
or just people directly reading the source?
section 3- a. Use by End Users, Publishers, and Distributors details it in here, alrighty
https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/eula/content
Yeah, that one thing people press agree first read later
Plugin files can be shared, but licenses will need to be purchased for each user that will be using the plugin.
I guess that's fair but man I am in for it when I invite a friend to help, haha
can marketplace support emails get lost on delivery?
got the mail "do the thing and reply asap" - did the thing and notified via email - nothing happens in four days
should i send it again or just wait?
I'd say that's reasonable to follow up
Anyone know if there's a plugin that can find and delete unused variables, functions, interfaces, etc in a BP? There's a linter plugin that could find them, but it's still at 4.26.
There was a static analysis thing that adopted ue5 recently.
Do you know what it's called?
pvs studio
I am making a C++ plugin that will be on the marketplace. I want to provide an example level in the plugins folder showcasing how to use the plugin. Am I allowed to download free art assets from the marketplace and use them for my plugin's example content?
The marketplace FAQs cover that a bit. I believe you can use some of epics example content, as in what's in the starter game etc, but not marketplace stuff. And you can use cc0 stuff from the wider internet as long as it's clearly listed and doesn't comprise a significant portion of your product
But again, read the FAQs, and if in doubt, contact marketplace.
hm yea nothing explicitly about that in FAQs. I feel like I should be able to use anything that's in the "permanently free" category, but I'm not sure. I've seen a lot of plugins use ALS animations in their examples, but I don't know if they got permission from the creator of ALS or if they just took it since it's permanently free
I'm pretty sure any Epic stuff is okay, like Paragon on Infinity Blades, but not third party stuff like ALS or Protofactor's animals
hmmm
it's in there
2.1.e Sample content from Epic Games must not be an integral part of your product, but used for display or example purposes only.
2.1.f Substantial portions of source code, Blueprints, and/or Material Blueprints from Epic Games must be used for example purposes only.
also this is maybe also relevant
2.1.d Content must consist primarily of original work and differ from the result of public tutorials.
2.2.d Use of unmodified public domain content is limited to assisting with presentation, while not being the majority of the submission, and the content must have been modified so as to bring new value to the assets. Sellers must cite the source and include a link to the source content in the productโs Technical Information that includes clear public domain usage information. Epic will verify via that link that the content is in the public domain and fully redistributable.
@somber spire ^ found the info
<@&213101288538374145>
I don't know if free content on the unreal marketplace qualifies as "Public Domain" though. I'm clear on the usage of epics content, but I am more wondering about free assets that are not made by epic.
Nothing on the marketplace is public domain. It's all licensed under the marketplace license as specified in that doc I linked
But you can use some cc0/public domain content in a larger work on the marketplace
And not everything on the marketplace released by epic is classified as sample content
And there is no provision in that document or the license agreement that I have seen that allows you to reuse marketplace assets in another marketplace work, in fact its explicitly disallowed, with no provision like "unless it's free"
This is the license agreement that covers marketplace
Except as otherwise stated in the Service-Specific Terms (as defined in Section 7), you may not Distribute Licensed Content in source format to third parties except to employees, affiliates, and contractors who are utilizing the Licensed Content in good faith to develop a Project on your behalf.
today is payday ?
Are there any must have marketplace assets/plugins like Ultra Dynamic Sky?
I just got it and its been a gamechanger so Im wondering if there are any others in a similar vein
If that is must have.... The options are many then ๐ค
Just start browsing and apply common sense. Code plugins and blueprint ones.
There is only one like Ultra Dynamic Sky and that's called Ultra Dynamic Sky. Brushify stuff can be useful, at least as a starting point. Both can easily be changed / adapted to suit your own needs. Then there are the code plugins that make the editor tidier / faster to use eg Electronic Nodes or Node Graph Assistant. But all of these are only 'must have' if you actually need them. Is your project going to come to a complete halt because the only thing stopping you move forward is something only these packs can do? Only you can answer that one.. ๐
So they have changed the policy of sharing plugins? To my understanding, how it has been previously is:
If you have 3 paid marketplace plugins, you can put them in your projects plugins folder, and anyone who is contributing to that project is allowed to use them for that specific project only. Is that not the case anymore?
I've been telling people that my plugin can be shared this way too. I am sure there used to be something in the marketplace guidelines stating something similar but looks like it's been removed now.
There's a reason why code plugin never installed per project
I just follow what the marketplace rules state ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Yes, you can share Marketplace content products for the limited purpose of the project(s) that you are developing within your team, organization, or company and its subsidiaries. Sharing products outside of your team or organization is prohibited. Team and organization members cannot use products in an unlimited fashion for their own outside projects. **Plugin files can be shared, but licenses will need to be purchased for each user that will be using the plugin.**
https://marketplacehelp.epicgames.com/s/article/Can-I-share-products-with-my-team?language=en_US
For content products, you can download once, select the files, and put them on an internal folder or file share to distribute to your team. **For plugins it may be easier to log in to the purchaser's account through the launcher one time on each separate computer and complete the download and installation. The plugin is installed and should be available on that computer profile after installation.**```
https://marketplacehelp.epicgames.com/s/article/How-do-I-share-Marketplace-products-with-my-project-team?language=en_US
Looks like you can share marketplace "content" between projects, but plugins is yes-here with a dash of no-there
hi I want to make genshin like trees but for mobile game which is optimized (i dont know how to make them ) please suggest som emethods
Do it.
i dont know how to do it
Then you need to learn how to do it
Hello everyone. I've got a simple question to ask: suppose I buy a "content" asset (e.g. a materials collection). Then I add it to my project and also edit the materirials themselves.
What happens if the creator updates one or more of the materials and pushes an update? Am I forced to update? If I do, what happens since I already modified one of the changed materials? Would it overwrite my changes?
You are not forced to update, but if you do it will overwrite your changes unless you copy/rename the materials your have made the changes to
@agile shadow Got it. thank you! As a customer do I have any hint that what I'm about to update would overwrite my content, or it's just my common sense that should make a backup before updating in any case?
:triangular_flag_on_post: Frozen Planet#1079 received strike 1. As a result, they were muted for 10 minutes.
Well you first need to update the content and then add it again to your project. When updating the content stored in the vault you don't get any warnings, it just overwrites. When adding it back to your project you do get a warning that it will overwrite I believe
But it's always prudent to back up before
Thanks a lot for the info @agile shadow ! ๐
Some developers maintains a change log or release notes section on the docs. Always check for that before upgrading. And itโs always good idea to backup your project or use a version controlling system.
I have an issue where a plugin disappeared from my library/vault
and in the marketplace page it says I have to buy it again
anyone seen this before?
but I can see the plugin in my previous projects
@dawn nest please dont crosspost the same question. thanks :)
Holy shit, Mike from GFS chose FluidNinja
Email your receipt to marketplace support
Yeah itโs a pretty good month of stuff
Insta deform looks awesome
FREE!
Free for the month marketplace when?
||usually there's one bugger asking it||
Its updated. Fluid Nija is free ! Say what lol glad i waited on that one
I wnder if for FluidNija its free due to epics Fluid system. And i would assume insta deform component which is also free has the same issue. Epic offers close if not better for free. So for them , i guess its a smart move !
To think that I'm making my own fluid sim system from the ground up lmao
checkout the upcoming fluid system from epic , its epic. you probably wont need ground up. even fluid nija is pretty sweet for now
Well, I'm sticking with 4.27 for my game project, already have some C++ stuff and engine modifications going on
Niagara Fluids is UE5 only
Ooo Yeah. That would do it. Ground up might be the only way to get close to those results. Your a bad man if you pull it off.
I'm kinda interested in leveraging parts of the point and click adventure toolkit, though I'm not sure how deeply coupled the various components of it are.
Don't want to use all of it, mainly the items and interactables
This is probably a stupid question, but is the monthly free stuff yours forever, like the Epic game store? That's a ton of value being given away right now ๐ฎ
yup
Yeah it's permanently free
Looks like I picked a good month to get started with UE!
This was one of the times the showed it of a little bit https://twitter.com/Vuthric/status/1512640001472962565
New experiments of #UE5 fluid simulation

There's no way something like that would be reasonably performant... Right?
Naa the Epic system is completely different from Fluid Ninja Tools. It's for creating non interactive effects via flipbooks.
Cant say , dpendes really. If they manage something like Nanite for fluids ,,,, O man
o , i thought Fluid nija had live effects ? I see now , there is another part ๐คฃ
The promo only lasts for a month until next first Tuesday, but once you claim it, it's yours and won't be revoked
Yeah, this is the "offline" one, not the LIVE version
I still have my reasoning to make fluid sim from scratch ;)
What do you think of Fluid Flux?
Though granted it's still rudimentary laminar stuff, no turbulence
Seems good, but the limitation broke the deal for me
Also I want to try using compute shader instead of just limited to Content asset constraints.
My team tried the Niagara fluid stuff. Crushed performance. Hard pass for the time being.
I will have to deal with it ๐ , its just too cool ! https://twitter.com/Vuthric/status/1226654849107783680 .
I think you need to go deep with compute shader to get top notch performance
This one is actually pretty Sweet !
Thank you ๐ฅฐ
why my waller of 30 euros is not correclly calculcate at checkout?
any kind of summer sale already happend or tba?
It was month ago. The last sale.
missed that, thank you
This month's assets seem pretty great
Hey do any of you marketplace sellers also get products denied for the most confusingly arbitrary reasons? Im constantly seeing products on the marketplace with less content, lower quality and higher price than what im attempting to upload, but getting told my packs dont have enough content or is to low quality, even though it surpasses stuff of a similar nature. For example, ive got a pack of planet materials, 4 diffrent planets, a moon, asteroids, sun, aurora borialis (all done in substance designer from scratch) 2 skysphere mats, the associated meshs, and a bonus spacepod shelter mesh thing, and somehow its not enough content? i literally see packs that are like "5 rock materials" and they look like fucking mud? im genuinly confused as to what im doing wrong and need feedback if any sellers are willing?
@last ledge I guess it depends, they have some guidelines depending on content. for materials, it's 5-10 tileable materials, so those rock materials are ok, for full enviros is 35 assets, 10+ props, etc. https://marketplacehelp.epicgames.com/s/seller-guide/minimum-content-and-requirements?language=en_US
yeh at least 5 of the materials are tillable, maybe I should state that specifically? nah im trying to list it as a material pack under the material section. Maybe because it includes props aswell they are confused? basically 1 bonus prop and some basic spheres with correct UV's so people can easily apply the materials and a plane for the aurora. plus 2 niagara fx systems that expand upon the aurora and meteor. actually aswell as 2 blueprints that is the auroras and a prop assembled, should i maybe axe the blueprints, FX and bonus props? Seems stupid to axe content if they are already saying not enough content but i dont know.
Hmm I guess, they might categorized it as full enviro...have you tried a follow up email to them?
Yeah sounds like you might have a mismatch on category and it's partly being rejected for that. Are you Sure there's not a more appropriate category?
Maybe fx or props or something.
yeh waiting on a reply. Just feels like being spat on in the face after spending a week+ working on the pack and it doesnt even get put into changes needed just declined with a bullshit explanation. i have no problem with feedback, im a big boy ๐ but when other peoples stuff is seemingly worse and still gets accepting, just genuinly confuses me.
yehh well the main focus of the pack is the planet materials, the aurora, planets, skyboxes and everything is a custom material, setup with custom textures from substance designer, i dont know if youd call it a texture pack or a material pack, to me the fx is more of an example of how the materials could be used.
to me it fits the materials category, and i dont seem to see anything limiting additional items ontop of the required materials? Like if i have a pack of 5 tilable rock materials, and i add an additional rock mesh and i dont know say an fx where the rock breaks? is that still not a rock material pack?
I dunno. If I was looking for an earth/planet pack with aurora particle systems I certainly wouldn't click into materials as my first stop
Environments, fx, props would be higher on my listeven though they aren't perfect matches either
@last ledge I spent like a month on two packs that got rejected haha. One was an airplane that went through copyright issues first, they said change this, I did, took me a few days, then they said not enough content ๐
yehh i definatly see your point ๐ the planets are intented as background planets for games/space renders, not as landable planets, just something pretty in the sky, yehh thats rough mate, ive had similar stuff with characters that ive spent months on, admittedly they did have problems that needed fixing XD so at least i got feedback i needed, but when seemingly nothings wrong its really confused me ๐
Also want to say that how much time you spent does not matter...or if you used substance designer or meticulously hand painted everything..doesn't mean it will be approved or is high quality enough
yehh i know, just trying to say they arnt like some mspaint or straight off google search shit ๐ cheers for the help anyways fellas, want a link to a free copy for the advice? maybe you can chuck us some feedback if you wanted ๐
hi i want to build a system for marketplace but i am just a developer where do i find things like animation model sound
Can I use places like Sketchfab mixamo freesound.org
They have a commercial license, but I don't know if it's valid for the unreal marketplace.
You can use permanently free as place holders just make sure keep the separate unreal reviews produ ts before hand to make sure directory is clean
You can also use the Epic sample content in the final product, if it's for demonstration purposes only
mixamo no. no clue about the other two.
but only a limited amount.
did anybody from here bought the Souls-Like Action RPG from DevAddict? if yes can you please DM me ? thank you in advance
Which are awesome
He's no longer doing dev anymore. Surprised many people still asked despite the cut and run
I'm looking for a free snowmobile if anybody has one.
anybody know how view a list of asset packs I've purchased on the Unreal Engine Marketplace. I can browse but I'm having trouble bringing up a list of what I already bought
yea that thanks
I totally forgot to check the launcher as I haven't used it in forever
Hello, mates! Could someone be so kind to advise a good RPG BP template to start from? I'd like to have it a first person POV (obligatory due to screenplay purposes), and key features I seek are inventory, quest/dialogue, XP/Levelling and save-load systems already implemented. No aim to create "AAA title name" killer, I wanna make something small but fully playable to practise in BP, level design and scenario writing. Many thanks in advance to all the gods of BP/C++ for "make it from scratch" advice. Next time I will ๐
This one has a very nice inventory and item interaction. I think it's main original focus was on 1st person, the anims are pretty bad though https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/rpg-user-interface-kit?sessionInvalidated=true
This one has inventory, save, and much more polished combat https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/dynamic-combat-system-bundle
HI! Thank you a lot! Moore's RPG Kit is an overkill for me, I just won't be able to use 100% of its potential, but it's at least something. Will keep that option in mind. Thanks!
np, just for a frame of reference, I own both but I'm always more likely to grab DCS at the start of a project
are there any good free tree models?
Anyone have experience releasing BP systems outside of the marketplace (e.g. Patreon, Gumroad)? Do you think it would be better to go for the marketplace route or release the system as free/optional contribution (with the promise of updates / support relative to contributions). The system I've created is a procedural building system and I think I could sell it about $70 in the marketplace.
Now that I think about it, perhaps I could release a free basic version just to get a sense of how much interest there would be.
There's always an interest for free stuff. People download it even if they don't need it. As soon as you put a price on it things change. Releasing on Marketplace gives you great exposure (for the first few days at least) so would be a good thing for you to use that.
maybe I'll release adds on the marketplace
hey everyone. how do i import assets into a source build?
having a lot of trouble with this
Your source build project might be hidden.
Hey guys,
i'm currently working on a project for the epic games marketplace, that runs with a plugin.
The plugin is free and without the plugin you cannot use the project. Or you have to download and install it later.
Does anyone have experience with that kind of work?
Does Epic Games allow third party plugins?
Maybe someone of you have taken this step already and can give me some information about it ๐
Thanks.
if the plugin is on the marketplace that is one thing, if its external... no clue
2.1.c
guess I was right
I'll try it.
I submit the project but without the plugin and provide a link to the plugin.
Maybe Epic Games will accept this or not.
I will to let you guys know๐
better to contact them beforehand, explain the situation
less hassle afterwards
asking for permission afterwards is generally not the best approach.
to say it mildly
If your project is a blueprint project and you have a plugin dependency then you can publish on the marketplace. But most likely you have to state the dependency in the product description.
If you plan to publish a plugin that depends on another plugin then that's not possible.
Wrong channel. #released
Oh, sorry
:triangular_flag_on_post: ItsJustKon#0788 received strike 1. As a result, they were muted for 10 minutes.
Is there a way to download a version of plugin for a specific engine version without installing the engine? We build engine from source and I don't really want to have to download the prebuilt engine just to get the right plugin version if I can help it.
No.
Vanilla launcher builds with matching version is mandatory for installing code plugins
I actually figured out there is a dropdown to select engine version (even with none installed). Though this might only be possible because it's a "create a project" style plugin rather than install-to-engine.
It would be really nice if you could just download specific things, especially just from the web instead of the launcher app
Then it's not a code plugin.
Well, at least not in the same category as Code Plugins to the marketplace
Yeah it may even be blueprint only. I don't know a ton about it, but was trying to get it updated for an artist. Thanks for the response though!
How do I request a refund on an asset pack I recently got?
how do i send a request tho
Press Create Support Case at the top right of that page
thank you
Though it's best to reach out the seller first
i have dw
they cant help fix my problem so i am going to refund and maybe get again at a later date as it was kinda expensive
There is MP sale btw
Is there a rule about reusing YOUR asset packs content in multiple marketplace products? For example: shaders in one project can be included and resold in a totally different project but left the same name.
no.
Ive reused mat functions and textures plenty of times.
no use reinventing the wheel
Makes sense to me too! Thanks for the quick response.
Well the new sale caught me by surprise, currently taking a list of every potentially useful asset on sale for later evaluation
I'm probably gonna get Dragon.IK, Replicated Hitbox System, Stylized Rendering System and M5 Sword Trails
Hey fellow marketplace sellers. Has anyone ever tried advertising your products in youtube advertising ? I have been thinking of trying that since visibility seem to be a recurring problem for the marketplace.
lol thanks. I'm the DragonIK developer.
Oh welp that's unexpected lmao
same here ๐
well, feel free to ping whenever you need support. I'm quite active in discord.
Is review good for sellers?
Good ones are
I think this might actually be worth giving a go with gamedev channels growing more nd more at the moment
any self-respecting dev. has ad-blockers installed though :p
Stupid question: If I purchase a plugin can I access that plugin by logging in on another machine or is it tied to the device I purchased it on? Just need to confirm before dropping the cash.
Tied to you, not your device or account
To be clear, any marketplace purchase is tied to the account that bought it. Plugin are a per seat model, but still linked to the account.
^ Thanks for the clarification. I assumed the user was the one being granted a license, not the account
You can use multiple computers around the world, if they are all yours and no one else will use the assets for their own stuff. BP assets don't require additional licensing, only code plugins.
An example would be hiring a guy to work on your project. That guy may well have all the marketplace assets, but he cannot use them in your project. You would have to supply him with all the assets and if using code plugins buy another license - if you were to be both using it at the same time. There is a certain amount of honesty expected of the end users. I have no doubts that many people don't know all the in's and out's etc or don't care. I doubt Epic particularly care either.
Though I imagine it would be legally painful if you want to ship the editor as mod kit with the marketplace plugins.
Wouldn't this imply my first statement was true? Tied to a user and not an account?
Being able to transfer the license is a separate issue all together
To my knowledge, there are users with more than 1 account due to how many asset an account can hold (Believe it was 1000?), if my logic doesn't apply they would be in quite a predicament when adding their assets to their project.
Assets can be shared per project basis.
Contributors of your project don't need to buy the asset, with limitation that they can't take the assets for their own purposes
I'm well aware of that. Not that I see the relevancy to my statement.
The asset is bound to the account, but your license in using the asset should be bound to the user.
Sure, but the OP didn't mention if it was for their own use or not. Since they mentioned plugins [and not just asset packs] specifically, it's an often overlooked or misunderstood part of the license you buy everything under in the MP. I just added the bit about sharing stuff as like I said, many don't about it. If it's just you none of that matters as it's just you.
Recently released a new tutorial for the DragonIK plugin, which is about the recent new feature called physanims. It's a much easier and efficient way to get hit reactions for your characters.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3d2IvoeTEk
Physanim (short for physical animation) is a brand new feature added into the DragonIK plugin. It helps devs to bring awesome looking physical animation results easily to their characters, and it serves as a unique alternative to UE's default physical animation system.
This feature comes free with the DragonIK plugin.
DragonIK is available for...
It acts as an alternative to the in-built physical animations.
anyone knows a MP asset that has hedges?
for like a hedgemaze?
i cant seem to find the right words on the store
Just make an wall with hedge material? ๐ค
Well, depends on your requirements. You can do some depth definitely with materials, but if you look for bushes who are procedural wall-like... doubt you can find some.
i got this one, but.. yea.
https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/infinite-bushes-shrubs
(not for sale) ๐
if you need funding, would it be a hedgefund?
I was too thinking of hedgefunds, but nah
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/54Gwg if only this was for sale.
https://store.speedtree.com/store/hedge-ue4/ I did my best, while waiting for lunch to be ready
By dinner time I will be waiting for a new MP asset.
lol
you love this style because: you made it
HAHA u got me winkwink
i am the best
oh god i am sorry miguel.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask
Just curious if there is a bug with the Unrealengine > Personal info
In relation to input field for VAT number, as I have an Australian company so only have a ACN + ABN & my Epic Games / UnrealEngine account country set to AUSTRALIA
Or do I have to talk to my accountant and register my business internationally for VAT in order to get the reduced marketplace prices?
Yeah I intend to send an email to them next week but figured never know if someone here could answer in the meantime
Of course further confirmation through official channels is always best but response might take weeks so ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Surely hope I can use my ABN though as the savings would be nice
For example
(I invited my ABN in the VAT number field as a test)
Can remove the company / VAT details though if legally speaking I cannot use that field
(I donโt intend to make any purchases prior to getting an official answer of course)
Anyway,
If anyone knows, please do @mention me or reply to the above so I get an alert
Cheers ๐ป & laters โ๏ธ
Hey mate, maybe ask in the Unreal Engine Oceania discord, bound to be more peeps with relevant experience
From a cursory search I didn't find this discussed before their, either with "ABN" or with "tax" however
please
will someone make a destructibles plugin for ue5
just port it from ue4 to ue5
whoever made the decision to remove it while chaos is still this crashy mess should be absolutely fired
Wasnโt aware that was a thing? Could I get the link?
Also I got my answer regardless
Looks like I can use my ABN ๐
Quick question. Are you allowed to sell games on fiver with the source files if you're using marketplace assets? I found a post that is practically a drag and drop asset flip seller and source files are included in every package. I'd assume that's not allowed as youre literally selling the marketplace assets to someone else.
No. You may not distribute source files from marketplace
You are allowed in very specific circumstances, but that's not those circumstances
the "Buyer" in a fiverr transaction would need to buy and supply the assets to the developer they are contracting to do the work for them
That's what I assumed. I also assume there's no good way for fiverr to monitor this. The seller is selling drag and drop horror mechanics from horror engine pasted into horror maps from the marketplace and charging 100 for the basic package
Yeah, i'd assume that's pretty common of the <$500 complete game packages. Buyer beware basically. You get what you pay for. Double check everything
Found it from a fiverr YouTube video. The seller has 6 five star reviews. Who know how many other have bought from him
That's absurd
Scamming buyers and marketplace sellers at that point
It's not great, but it's probably not a BIG loss in sales to MP sellers either. Anyone savvy enough to buy and use marketplace assets (aka potential clients) probably is aware those sorts of things are too good to be true and is unlikely to use that sort of package from fiverr
but, yeah, i'm sure it stings if an MP seller finds out
I once bought a logo and then went and licensed the font when i realised it was a bit dodgy license wise
I mainly find the pricing absurd. One of the assets is entirely free for everyone, so it doesn't hurt the seller, but the fact that the mechanics are all from that pack and they're charging 100 minimum is just crazy.
See i view that a bit different. The deal is dodgy BECAUSE it's only $100. What's that? 2-4 hours pay? Fiverr is a race to the bottom, and the cheaper you go the dodgier it will get
a game, even an asset flip, should be more than $100
True, but from what ive seen of what the seller is selling from the video I found him from is just crazy. Copy and pasted maps, no game mechanic changes
Again, what do you expect people to do for $100? that doesn't cover a lot of time to reinvent the wheel
True but when all you have to do is come up with an hour long story and a tiny puzzles I feel like it's not too hard to be creative
At least in this instance
Its not about being creative. It's about the time it takes. again, $100 is like what, 2-4 hours pay?
I just don't feel like it's 2 to 4hrs work from what I saw haha. But I do get what youre saying
If i'm asking someone to make me a game in 4 hours, i'll be happy to receive literally anything
I just want to reiterate, i get that its poor form to asset flip and especially to ignore licenses, but at $100, i wouldn't be expecting quality work or completely on the level dealing
The price alone indicates its a bad deal
I dont really have experience buying products off of fiverr which might be why I see it differently cause I'm just ignorant in the pricing market for this. But even for $100 dollars I'd at least expect something different especially after seeing what's being created. But that's just me and maybe down the line I'll see that differently haha, but I get what you're saying
Yeah, i think the main difference is you see it as "corners are being cut, so it should be cheaper" where as my view is "corners are being cut BECAUSE it's cheaper"
Haha totally
Quick question when making low poly asset. Do i need to add normal maps for the asset ? Usually i use normals for improving the smoothness of the edge
Also what should i prepared for low poly asset ?
Also can i sell bundle ?
Depends. Normal maps is almost like bending the light, mainly for adding surface details without detailed geometry.
I've seen some listings for bundles, so you could do that.
I do t like to dissapoint customer becauze i sell bundles
Ultimately it's your marketing decisions
personally, I'm planning to put together a couple of bundles once I've got enough assets out that it makes sense and if someone messages me to ask for a discount/free for convenience because they have some/all of the already included content I'll drop epic an email and get that sorted out
Anyone else unable to look at the Marketplace rn? You may have exceeded the posting rate limit. Please wait a few minutes before you try again.
Got this first time I opened the window. Haven't posted anything.
@midnight hinge seems multiple people have that issue atm.
@calm yoke seems there is an issue with the marketplace atm.
Thank you @delicate dove
Apologies, only just seen this! It looks to be resolved if I'm not mistaken
no worries, glad it got solved :)
I've just hit the $100 to be paid out for the first time, am I right in thinking that the money from July will be added to the payment report in September and then payment is made 30 days after that?
@gloomy depot if you reach target that months. Wait 30 days in first day of month to get paid
has anyone dealt with brushify LODs being nonexistent?
i thought brushify trees had many LODs
nevermind, i got it
Just tried to update my plugin and got this:
Your project files has a password when trying to extract them. Any passwords on the files must be removed before we can update your project.
So, that's not a thing anymore? My previous submissions had passwords, and I just had to include the password in the notes section.
Rule enforcing is a bit weird when it comes to MP products. Some submission get rejected for what appear to be very dubious reasons, while others blatantly violate at least half a dozen rules and gets updated without issues (well, at least one plugin I own).
It depends on the staff doing your entry at the time, sometime they care about passwords, sometime they don't.
Well, I'll be happy when they get around to providing a way to upload directly, instead of having to upload elsewhere and provide a download link.
Sounds like an idea I would go along with, but not sure whether they would allow that, more server cost on epic's side.
They copy the plugin, build it, and store that on their servers. It's probably just a matter of getting around to implementing it - not enough web devs on staff and lots of higher priorities than publisher user experience.
If you are releasing a paid asset to the marketplace, it it against tos to use permanently free market place assets in your asset e.g. for a placeholder weapon ect.
You can't redistribute that content in source form even though it's free on the marketplace
So, no, that's not allowed
New batch of free Twinmotion assets: https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/assets?tag=21026
Hi, I have some people asking me if my sound packs are compatible with UE5. Is there a tutorial on how to do that? Or do I just create the pack again, but this time under the new engine?
just open the pack in ue5, it should work
Ok, so I open it in ue5 and then re-export it and upload it onto the marketplace yeah?
if it works by just opening it in ue5, you might be able to just flag it as ue5-able
if not, double check in ue5, and then yes, reupload.
Ok great, thanks!
Would you guys be interested in a really gory dismemberment system?
Would that be something you guys would purchase?
Something similar to left for dead 2 style zombies
Hit reactions, stumbling, legs shot off result in crawling ect.
I'm more interested in an way to filter out / blacklist authors (grr)
There are few on the MP, how that would be different?
[noob question]
How do people usually handle pricing/licencing for private use or small/large studios?
Did a quick google but didn't find anything.
UE marketplace (still) doesn't provide easy way for that, people had to contact the MP team to arrange for volume licensing
