How should I format my PNGs so Unreal will accept them as a heightmap? The technical guide specifies some recommended landscape sizes but I can't tell if that translates directly to image size. One of the recommended sizes is 505x505, to which I've set the heightmap's resolution, but Unreal still throws an "improper pattern" error.

problem solved: it wanted a 16bit fixed image, not float. @fleet tangle i can see why filename would be important if the landscape is tiled into separate files, but i'm just using a single image here. it seems to work regardless of the filename.

I suppose you put them side by side so that each are single channel RAM. Not sure if there's a failsafe for the dual channel if RAM on odd or even slots aren't matching.

i basically have to stick with a certain version of AMD since newer drivers for it is incompatible with Blender due to AMD not wanting to work with/support the devs OMEGALUL

damn sorry to hear, I feel your pain. I'll pass along my lesson as well: look into getting a better PSU, and make sure your PC is not connected directly to the wall. Get a surge protector that's rated to take the full input from the wall (most do, but cheap ones may not, mine was $25). Then when a surge happens try and flip off the surge protector as quick as you can, until the power is back and stable

the notes aren't really considered to be legible in harmonies, though they have some textural value
also pretty expensive to engineer, same reason pizza boxes are square

1# only glance at a group of words
2# no vocalization
3# no going back.
The meaning comes across fine and it's fast but, it's quite unsatisfying it seems, maybe once i can make the vocalization part go away completely it would be more fun
hmmmm, maybe you just do those subconsciously or something, the only other alternative is predicting the future. or you have trained the basic thing to that extent by reading too much

you actually have two internal voices when you speed read. One is following the words and the other is giving you feedback as you internally hear them. Some people can get caught up in an internal argument with what they are reading, and it takes more time to get through. They constantly criticise and pick each point to determine if they agree and can end up in a cyclic argument with themselves which projects over the initial content and can create a self-dichotomy which needs resolution through either agreement with others or a personal stance of determination and self belief. It's called the "twitter" effect.

Here's a fun game design brain teaser that I'm working on right now.
For an open world coop shooter game - Players can harvest and refine various colors of Gas, which pay for different types of structures which serve as the logistical and technological base of their team.
With orange gas, you can make a howitzer, launch pods for quick reployment, and a station that makes orbs that you can touch to harden your shields.
With green gas (Biotica), for instance, the players can build little GeneSequence stations that create Orbs which players can touch to gain free veterancy (sort of like feeding your killstreak counter).
What other things can you do with Biotica (green)? Especially long range stuff.
