But considering how popular it was, and its art style, and Fortnite's history of licensing random things, it's a peculiar choice not to license Among Us.
On the other hand, they did take PUBG's game mode. Perhaps the lesson is that if Epic ever makes a popular game mode (that isn't already copied from someone else), you should strongly consider making your own version.

Ugh, this is mildly complicated. I'm working on a system for my game where customers have a sort of "satisfaction" rating for their visit
basically it just says whether they visited the player's store successfully based on factors like if their tasks succeeded, and whether the store was nice (eg. not disgustingly messy and such)
and it's used to determine if the customer's "level" changes (or doesn't)
it sounds simple but coming up with a good way to calculate it based on all these factors is a pain lol

You know how wrong that statement is? Console development and the fanbase has contributed more to games development over the years than PC users ever have. Just because its fixed hardware and development can be limited by the platform its targetted for doesn't mean it's slowed anything down. Think of the multi-billions that console development have brought into game dev. Think about how the PC platform has had a piracy issue that for decades has cost the developer sales that were almost guaranteed to be there on console platforms. More more, more development, more sustainability, more chance for a business to survive the launch. etc, etc.

Hi, I wanted to talk to gamedev folks about ways of cheapening game development by using smart gameplay mechanics and systems. I think that this topic is very interesting and important for small developers to consider. If we look at indie titles will see that the most popular games are rogelikes with random locations and item drops like Hades and Binding of Issac... These games use instant death mechanic to send you back to OLD locations and OLD enemies and OLD ... but with few changes, so dev cost is smaller because now you dont need to make many locations and enemies and ... This is the simplest example of what I mean, I think that there are smarter ways to make game longer and less costly to develop by reducing number of needed assets for example. SO IF anybody want to talk about this topic you can send me a text message.

As long as your not reaching too far, for our case, PCVR/SteamVR, its as stable as 4.26

we tried 4 different headsets, 5 different system configs on the packaged default template in 4.27, everything runs flawlessly. Like I said, as long as you Keep It Simple Stupid, and your not trying to fix volumetric clouds and mess with rendering features during the jam, 4.27 will be no problem

it doesn't work with some aliasing methods and other stuff, that kind of stuff is getting into the exploration waters where you will encounter issues. just take the 4.27 template, make your game, worry about fps and rendering features at the end. the judges have great systems

haha not quite. for reference, someone was complaining MSAA in VR forward rendering was dropping major performance according to their profiler, it was related to shadows, they later said maybe it was something else causing it, and victor said it was because the bloom in their post was way to high
