I think Javelin uses a HEAT warhead, which is a type of shaped charge, but I think Javelin's tend to hit from directly above so that type of protection does nothing against it

I guess it might help against NLAW's, but that also would probably depend on armor thickness in general, I think there was a clip where an NLAW struck a T-72, went in from one side, and came out the other
