the alignment is a little off and the keysnaps dont go on the regular mounting spots for the 80he

i will not be posting a soundtest for these for now cause i'm still running mixed switches

unsure how i should feel about the sound tbh but yeah i still need to add some filler material to fix alignment

Holy60 clones most of the time aren't friction fit compatible, it's too tight. They have different dimensions compared to a real Holy60. You will most likely need to tray mount the 60HEv2 instead of friction mount. Second half of this video https://youtu.be/DF6i5ozV5bY

Permanent is actually worse than temporary (and they don’t come off unless you pull the spacers off)

Entire point of spacers is you can take them out if you switch switches or turn any stabs into long pole

AFAIK and there may be more to it but there's the key-cap height, the degree of angle of the key-cap, and the curvature of where you place your fingers. I think the rest is standardized

@glacial wind this was my solution to get the Wooting cable to fit in the leggera, ended up shaving off a tiny bit of paint which lets it sit properly, still pretty snug but it actually fits! This is with keysnaps and the usb port being grounded with a sponge too

Guys so I was modding my v2, and I did like, I added 2 extra layers of tape but I also removed the PTE film inside the pcb, and then after i put everythign back, now like it's frictino fit but if i flip the keybaord over it lowkey falls out, is it cus the tpae or is it cus i didn't fit the friction fit pad correctly?

Built a 60he inside one and with minor mods like polyfill. Pretty impressed with quality of the case overall for $60 with all the options

it's very similar to an optimum case design but slightly not as thick bezels

it's only downsides is the whole needing custom plate part, but i saw vendors on taobao have started selling plate options for it

You could add a sort of metal sponge like is present on the optimum case but i wouldnt worry about it unless you live in an environment where you build up a lot of static electricity

So what's the difference between Blank,Doubleshot, dye-sub, and UV printed keycaps? I think my wootingt keycaps r worn cuz theyre shiny now ande a bit slippery. I was ghonna order more but idk the difference

blank = no lettering, double shot = 2 colors of plastic used in a manufacturing process to make the lettering out of plastic so that it wont rub off, dye sub = manufacturing process where heat is used to imprint dye onto the plastic surface, UV print = surface printing of lettering

coincidentally, these are also ordered from least likely to lose lettering from wear to most (blank does not have lettering at all so it cant lose it, double shot is basically impossible to lose lettering without destroying the keycap, dye sub it could happen with a lot of usage, UV print is not super durable and can be scraped off as well

all keycaps will get shiny over time

i personally use double shot keycaps from GMK but they are quite expensive and do shine over time as well

i personally wouldnt worry too much about the shine

cause all keycaps shine over time and if you swap them out every time it happens, you'll be stuck buying new keycaps forever even though you have perfectly functional ones already

keep using these until they break or the legends wear off, if the shine bothers you a lot a lot, get the pbt double shot from wooting but again, every keycap will shine over time, it just comes from the interactions between skin oils and the plastics used

I didn't order standoffs for my zoom64 plate...

The case is top mounted and it doesn't seem to require standoffs

Unlike traditional MX switches, HE switches don't have pins that insert into the PCB (either via a socket or solder) so there is nothing that keeps the PCB and plate an exact distant apart, so your switches distance to the sensor can change while typing and that's not good.

The standoffs are there to screw the plate into the PCB so that the switch distance remains fixed and constant
