Gateron sucks come on pronin

yea could be kailh
and they just silently change out vital parts
wooting supposedly calibrates all the time, when you press keys, but has anyone actually confirmed this with tests, my tests with magnet has not proven this even a bit.
box switches
mouse switches
there are at least 3 entirely different gm 8.0s
and all have click issues
but yeah i forgot about box switches as they suck for the most part
but even those apparently silently changed spec before actual release

my tests were more so focused on the dynamic lighting changes, but maybe lighting changes are actually not calibrated in line with actual force
need to do some more tests to see actual pressing distance somehow
tbh only issues I've ever had were with raptors and it was minor
Very minor
just moments when I could tell the sensor was saturated so it did like a dead movement
didn't they recently do update that calibrates all the time, not only startup
these pictures are pretty old, that update is newer I think
I have a question, this White piece below the space bar, can I buy it by myself?https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/167181566978555904/1217835697872965653/image.png?ex=660578e0&is=65f303e0&hm=6ae0b49c236f1d9624285c91b1088221c40bd5fe4c1bea475de698c59b626115&
oh boy rappy snappy!!
what's different with the v2 lekker switches
no info yet
i got the V2 Lekker 45's for free with the 80HE, but i also got the Jades, cause they are just so good đ±
Itâs just the pcb design
@median spadebecause when I took the keyboard apart to clean it, I forced too much on the space bar and I broke the part so I would like to know if I can buy one
Like I said half a million times before, all Gateronâs magnetic switches have a slot for a leaf and a extrusion on their stems.
you mean the stabilizer?
but the extrusion is like on the wrong side, no real extrusion where the leaf is
Theyâre symmetric if it wasnât for the extrusion or am I tripping?
It is, I wouldnât call it the wrong side as all other leafs use 2 sides.
I assume thatâs the leaf design they had in mind.
the protrusion is on the other side of the slot of the leaf spring
so the two don't interact
I forgot to test when I told you I would. In an hour or two. Sorry about that.
well that test i did focused on lighting, but lighting might be decoupled from the actual actuation
Outdated. Jades came around so this had to be updated. You wouldnât be able to change actuation to 3.5mm or more if it wasnât changed.
so if you do test, you need to see with some software the actuation happening irt
Ok I needed to get back into this channel, too much too fast in the 80HE channel.
Jades or Raptor guys?
I prefer OG lekkers with no lube
Canât find my magnets @median fog :/
well you'll find them soon enough, meanwhile give me some name of software where I can easily test this myself, visually see actuation
well I won't be able to see actuation I think with Digital keys, like the actuation point actually, so can't really test this maybe
âTouchâ RGB effect. đ
yeah but lighting might be decoupled from the actual pressing
No, you can see it.
I guess it's not, but yeah, whatever, it doesn't matter for now, there is no magnets here, and I won't have Jades until Aug at earliest, then they might fix it up.
well I tested with light, it didn't calibrate the light at least
You can easily and only see it with 4.0mm switches. Enable the Touch RGB effect and replug your keyboard, then very slowly press any key to around 3.5mm. Youâll see it snap.
From â7â to â0â
i.e 3.5mm to 4mm
Then if you press the key more itâll stay at â0â until you release it and press it again.
I made a video about this a while ago too.
anyway they will fix it up if it's not behaving properly until 80HE arrives
Itâs behaving properly, as implemented, just not optimally.
It most likely was the easiest way to make Jades compatible.
Whats the jades bottom out force?
I think 45-50.
Also the keycaps on the bottom row are the usual size and they just removed the fn key right?
50g
and yeah
it's just missing one key from bottom row
looks way better becuase of that
fake! lier!

is it not possible to order the v2 switches right now also
Alone? No, theyâre not out yet.
you know the diffreneces?
no info yet
Tighter tolerances and less stem wobble is all Woot stated.
would you say a 80he is worth if i already have a 60he
If youâre gonna use 2 boards, sure.
If not, only if you prefer the 80HEâs layout over your 60%
can change my switch settings in wootility with the jade swtiches?
They work just like any other switch so yea
so i can change the pre travel and accuation point with the jade switches?
Actuation, yes. Pre travel?
i guess thats what i meant xd tnx
đ
does anyone of you have the jade with the 60 he and could tell me the difference with the leeker ?
Sound, Jades are louder, âclackyâ so to say and have a shorter travel distance. 3.5mm compared to Lekkerâs 4.0mm.
Jades also have tighter tolerances compared to Lekker V1.
A tad bit less stem wobble.
do you have any good keykap brands for german iso layout?
Wooting includes a German ISO set I believe. Other than that, not sure.
anything not iso-uk is notoriously hard to find
i guess it should only be iso if i have iso tho
I'm a bit confused on how to change WASD to 0.1mm and everything else to 0.2mm
yes
yea just buy stabilizers lol
Maybe include them in #đȘâmodding_faq even though theyâre not out yet.
Not yet, but I'll be updating the FAQ soon with some other stuff
How do people find the Jades vs the lekkers? I had the impression they were good from what I saw around launch so when I saw them offered with the 80 I nabbed some but am a little unsure. Is the lightness too light for most? Howâs the sound profile? Travel distance an issue at all or a moot issue?
Also, the new switch is either gonna be Heerlijk or Verrukkelijk, has to be
Can't speak for the Lekkers, but i use Jades and they are phenomenal
They are a good switch. If you like long-pole switch sound/feel you'll love them. If you're unsure, then get the Jades and choose the Lekkers for your free choice.
How are they factory lubed - similar to factory lubed lekkers or worse?
Ive only had 3 sets of Jades to compare so far but the lubing was consistently pretty good overall. I would still hand lube them, but the same applies to the Lekkers.
Thanks all!
Im trying to so hard to stay out of 80HE so I dont clutter it up but its chaos in there lol
I've never really done any keyboard modding before and currently have the 60he. I've been looking at getting the 80he. Would it be possible to frankenstein the two keyboards together by gutting my current board and only ordering the 80he frame? I don't really think I'd need the rapid switches for the f row and arrow keys.
Negative
It's one or the other, they are interchangeable and the 80HE doesnt have a 3rd party case or PCB choice available.
Hope everyone sees this. You're doing the lord's work đ
Question I've got - if the Jades are on the store now, are there going to be any long pole stabs to go with them?
Not necessary with stock keycaps, so no.
Oh wait Jades on the store page now nice
OEM keycaps you mean?
is there a chat for recommendations, or advice ? could use some opinions on the linear 45 60 or jade decision since i am more used to browns or pandas. sry if im wrong in this chat :/
No, the sizing wouldn't work, you could theoretically put the 60 pcb in the 80 and lose out on the FN key on the bottom right but I doubt the mounting holes are in the same place
PCB looks different as well
60's are the stock switch and a good all around choice if you are struggling to make a decision. The 45's are the same as the 60's but with a slightly lighter spring weight (easier to push), the Jades are different then the 60's or 45's in sound and in between them in feel.
For the arrow keys
No, Wootingâs stock keycaps are tight so the 0.5mm difference difference in travel distance between the switch and the stabilizers wonât cause any problems.
it wouldnt work. The 80HE also uses a daughter board
Canât say the same for looser keycaps.
thank you i think 60s it is
Interested in hearing a sound test between L60s and Jades?
if you have one i sure am
all input is greatly appreciated
literally am a knobhead when it comes to linears
I've done hand lubed and tape nodded leckers, and I've been using factory jades. In my opinion the jades blow the leckers out of the water without having to do any sort of modding.
This question is probably asked everyday but whhat's a recommended website to order custom keys from? Specifically I want ISO with letters of my choosing on them.
i dont know if this has been asked but will older wooting boards get the rappy snappy feature through firmware updates
Yep
thats good to hear
i think the only thing that i remember seeing here is that the 60HE isnt getting 8k hertz
which i dont really care for at the moment
i have the raptors right now in my 60
Correct, MCU doesnât support it
Same
Apparently Jades are better but I want to test for myself
i have my wooting gummy oring mount, raptor HE, TX clip in stabs
no plate foam, yes case foam
the pcb has 1 layer of electrical tape used for tennis grips to dampen the bottom out of the magnet slamming into the pcb
i would say that the jades have the best sound to them since they have the closed bottom to them
but i have been seeing good things regarding the gaming performance of the raptors
Yea
Jades shouldn't mess with the wooting actuation wise correct
Its just the bottom out

Nice
ooh thats good, is the firmware stuff getting worked on for the raptors still?
Donât quote me on it but Iâm pretty sure
i remember calder mentioning it as well
Like 90% sure
I just swapped out the stems
Tolerances are mad good
I had to delube a bit because they're so good on the frankstein raptors

I donât know if theyâre working on firmware to account for stronger magnets but I think they might be working on reverse polarity, idk canât confirm anything though
Gahhh Fomo is hitting me
i sucks with my that i come from a custom keeb background, but i love my receently received suisei65
but i love the gaming peformance of the wooting, as i play a lot of valorant
Its still being tweaked per Simon last week
Ah okay thank you
after playing on a wooting for nearly 2 months. it actually feels like you are cheating when strafing. i dont think i have ever counter strafed faster
Came in to find out about Rappy Snappy exited with FOMO and a lighter wallet

Does anyone have a sound demo actually
so does this mean that I have to use beta for Jade?
Jades should have been solved
No. The non beta has been updated.
Its for reverse polarity switches afaik
Wasnât for that, reverse polarity switches arenât supported, yet.
Oh
Got confused
Np!
It was for the stronger magnets right
It was to support Jadesâ 0.5mm less travel.
Okay this comment is for jades
Yes.
Yes Im referring to the Jades
That was Simon's response last week when asked about the status of proper Jade support

Yea I didn't read it throughly
Was multi tasking looking up jade sound profile
BTW, Novelkeys is doing a B2G1 Free sale on GMK kits tomorrow and the base kits will be $99, so 3 sets of GMK for $200
Time to pick up keycaps for your new 80HE purchases
Hihi
Anyone have any suggested sites for mods for base case yet for 80he?
you shouldn't have told me this......
.......goodbye money
Oh well i don't like 80% of the sets NK has nevermind
they saving me money
oh royal cadet hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
that along makes me wnat to do this
You can't even complain about this price đ
i got the pink set for my gf
it's nice and $15 was still
she had some old tai hai miami keycaps and was over it lmao
Okay I found three sets I want probably going to pick them up
these clearance sales aren't half bad
I see you already bought the 80he đ
Of course
hey, does anyone know good pbt double shot iso keycaps for wooting60he ?
I want to buy an 80he but I know that is financially irresponsible as I already have a fully modded 60he that works perfectly fine for my needs
no source of income either
Yea don't
Only thing it really brings over the 60 is gasket and 8k
I'm sure you can just tune your keeb for a softer feel so gasket is eh
And 8k isn't worth spending another 400 or so to get a fully modded keeb
It's okay guys..maybe in the future when I have a job
Embrace the JOMO (joy of missing out). There is always something better on the horizon and in the end its just a keyboard.
ur right
im not allowed to work x)
Just wait a year or so when they get that .01mm acutation

can't wait to activate my keys by blowing air on it đ
sound difference
they're both very light switches
Jades are generally preferred due to tighter tolerances and better sound to most
mh ok but price is high l45 is ok for me.
i ordered 80he module delivery in early september :-(((
atleast I get the joy of missing out AND not having to wait đ
I was feeling the same kinda
I need to look when I get off work
Just kinda glancing
I want royal cadet, olivia dark, and then i guess ill just ifnd a rnadom 3rd at that point lmao
You looking at their GMK sets or their PBT?
gmk for the B2G1
Right yeah
You can get 90 for like $60 elsewhere, itâs not Wootingâs switch.
What company do yall recommend for aluminum keyboard cases? I wanna try to build my own and do a copper theme to match my setup. My plan was get the 60HE+ Module, black aluminum case, idk what switches yet, and copper keycaps. Thanks
Tofu Redux is the standard probably
You could also go Geon frog mini if you feel fancy
finally realized what the metal clanking sound in my Alumaze is. it's the brass accent rattling around because I'm using burger mount
LMAO
Is it too bad to oversand plate to make it work with TX AP stabilizers?đ
Hi it's been since January 27 that I ordered my keyboard but I still haven't received anything, is this normal?
Damnnnn
Cyl dots got my name on them if i had known abt this a week ago
check your order batch vs #đŠâbatch_updates
Allow me to share the pain
$64.66 in taxes đ€Ł
Welcome to Canada
Boiii đ
looks like im never living there
smart plan, we're only being taxed more and more lately
I live under you guys, the US
still sucks though cuz nowhere is safe in my state đ
America's Cap
not any better here up north xD
can't even own a car without it being stolen off your drive way
I don't think I can take a breath over there
So I'm good
there are no actual pics of zinc alloy case right?
Well there is here and there but the colours are not ''final'' , from the first link ''We'll have 9 T0 cases with different colors to test to confirm our white, nail our black and RAW.'' , i'll be going with the Raw version #đâwooting80he message #đâwooting80he message
#đâwooting80he message
From 85â>15? Lmao sounds like vpns that have the infinite âdealâ đ
thank you!!!
what's the difference between lekker v2 and v1?
Hai
tolerances - check pin
you're so hot ty
Just spend 10 hours in total over the day before yesterday, yesterday and today lubing switches and stabs. Some keys still a lil funky same for some stabs but I think part of it might just be keycaps but it is so much better!!!
I think more like 14 hours
But overall sounds so good
The number row was way deeper than the rest when it was stock and now the middle row sounds like number row did and number row sounds like candy
Just got these in. No idea if theyâre the ks20u or not đ
The box is showing yellow but the switches inside are orange
Yeah we call them peaches
They look like the new 20us right? Was just a little suspect since I ordered from some random ass Amazon seller
Indeed
If you have switch opener you can do that and check the side rails
But those look like KS20U
Bet
Still waiting on my module and case so Iâll check that later
How can you tell if theyâre double railed?
Yeah ima hand lube them later on still need to get the switch opener and lube set. Iâll send a pic when I do đ
Raptors and Jades have been fine but that's one way to do it
How's the vertical wobble?
are the magnets on the jade switches the same as any other lekker/gateron switch?
what does the underside of them look like
there are some other ones that look just like that but arent compatible with the wooting pcb
Thereâs a magnet
one sec
ur chillin the ones keychron use have the same duelrail shit but the bottom of them look like this
Looks the same as mine right? đ
Canât see any difference tbh
Ah wait nvm I see it now
do u guys know any good DSA keycaps?
Oh shi u already got them?!
Crazy
Yeah ai bought earlier today
What case or what not?
I went with the raw aluminum but might change to white. Still undecided
Yeah Amazon fast as shit đ€Ł
What switches u got them with?
I went with Jades and L45 v2's for the free ones
any difference from the jades to l45?
Yes they are different. Both in sound and feel
hmm i kinda wanna buy them but just for testing its a heavy price.. xd
Wait the V2s are out?!
When the hell!?
Man I'm missing out on the news and everything
They are not out but you can pick them when ordering the 80HE. It ships with the keyboard whenever that is
hey guys question, im planning on doing a burger mount to my stock 60he+. I can just follow the burger mounnt video on the wooting yt channel right sshouldn't be any different?
link the amazon
since im not seeing them on there
Check the pin. It's v2's not 2.0/Pros
wish they had the new mounting sytsem and such for 60he
didn't horder the 80he yet or at all as im not big fan of bigger layout
for whatever reason they're not actually sold as KS-20U lol
https://www.amazon.com/kutethy-Dual-Rail-Pre-lubed-Mechanical-Keyboards/dp/B0CRYRNWRM/
ks 20 orange interesting
Ah ok good to know, thanks Pops
$1/switch lel
are those switches the same as this one https://www.gateron.com/products/gateron-ks-20-magnetic-orange-hall-sensor-switch-set?
definitely not confusing between KS-20 orange (but actually KS-20U) and KS-20 orange (actually first gen KS-20)
no
oh i see
Hey just read or learned about rappy snappy, is that going to available for the 60he?
Yeah im aware
Dont really care much abt 8k, likes its cool and all but id think of it as if it was just there, if that makes sense.
Yeah english dont make sense for me
Yeah Im all about chasing the next thing as I have too many mice, keyboards ,etc
but the reality most of us won't notice a difference at all between 60he and 80he unless it's like intense rythym games or something
ye ye
i need 80he to match 8k on my mouse
I want it jsut for the mounting, but if that was the case I should just buy a boog75 moudle for my zoom75 lol
Anyone know what size o-ring fits a 60% keyboard pcb?
Yep these are it. I was a little susd out cus of the name (no U) but apparently theyâre legit
Yeah but the item number says KS-20U010B045NW-X14 and it says double rail so I just took the risk.
I think thereâs a 10% coupon + free shipping. The jades go for 60 with shipping so it basically comes out to the same for me
do the lekker stems fit in the jade housings?
No
I want it cus, another keyboard and its cool! I wanna ditch my gmmk compact and just have a secondary keyboard of somewhat :D
yes i have l60 springs in mine
Hi guys, is there a list of compatible switches for the wooting? Or are all magnetic switches compatible?
anyone know of a good comparison/review of the geon raptors and gateron jades?
How to hand lube Jades? Should I wash out factory lube at first?
No, just use 205g0 like normal
Ultrasonic cleaners
Wooting 60HE Frankenswitch Raptor, Lekker, Jade testing. I've been on this journey to try and make the best possible sounding Wooting from playdoh to aerogel foam, and trying to make all these different combination of switches.
Lekker Switches: https://shorturl.at/fkosZ
Raptor Switches: https://shorturl.at/hiqtA
Jade Switches: https://shorturl...
i feel like lekker stems in jade housings would fix the long pole issue that wooting stated they had
Jade with lekker stem
Also has anyone ran into issues with the gummy o-ring mounting on standard cases
Like for jewellery?
I remember having a friend telling me they ended up damaging one of their PCBs after 7 years of gummy o-ring mounting a keeb
Should be the same?
how does it damaged the pcb ?
All KS-20 switches share the same stem and top housing.
Yes they do.
I think friction fitted around the pcb
But just want to confirm since the wooting pcb is like 150
And I'm not trying to risk that here

iâve never heard of gummy o-ring mounting damaging pcbâs before tbh
i think the only issue is the o-ring fitting around the stabilizers
They are! Didnât know they were on Amazon already.
Granted this was like 7 years of use
youâll probably have a nice wooting by then haha
7 years is prob time to chabge keyboard anyways
Still prefer not to damage, I'll double check with them to see exactly what happened
Its more about the sentimentality
Burger mounting has been okay in my experience though the sound is a bit inconsistent
what foam do you have in your case? are you using a tofu?
Poron foam and no just a wood gh60 case
ohhh okay nice
ngl i filled my previous keyboard with prom foam, a layer of pennieâs, and a layer of paper towels and it sounded really good
i also tape modded the pcb
poron**
Ah figured it out it was too much flex causing the pcb to contact with the case, which shorted it
I have a wood case so that's a non-issue
anyone tried the kbdfans carbon plate? trying to mod my wooting but i live in a 3rd world country and can't get the original PC plate. what's the sound/feel like of carbon fibre plate in stock case?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006695111777.html talking about this
Whatâs the end force on the jades? Is there an issue where keys with stabs would have different travel dists (making them uneven etc?)
50ish
the stab length issue is an easy fix if you run into it. There's cheapie stab spacers you can buy for a few dollars
most don't have the issue happen though
is there a sound test between the ks-20u and jades? Was wondering which I should swap to and what differences if any are there other than the spring weight and bottom case (and the dual rails on ks-20u). Is there a clear winner between the two or is it up to preference?
Unboxing and testing out the new Gateron KS20u Dual Rail HE Switches!
thanks
it's possible that the stabs might be a bit too loose for your keycap, if that's the case, it's pretty easy to fix with just placing a small bit of tape on top of the stabs
that's usually what people do with loose artisan keycaps so i'm guessing it could work
however, if the stabs are a bit too short, i think this could help
$100 Off rn
do you get electrocuted when you put the wooting on the tofu 60 redux wrong?
no
I also dont see how you would even put it in wrong
im feeling electricity whenever i touch the case
Static?
yeaah
Oh I see what youâre saying
Hmm yeah thatâs a weird one. Idk if thatâs possible
i feel like the usb c is hitting the case somehow
Maybe but seems like install would be quite off.
im also using a coiled cable
well, seems liked i fixed it, just moved the module a little bit down
kinda hurt tho getting static
nvm getting static again
My wallet
bro how do i fix this
i get shocked everytime i touch the case
using tofu60 redux and coiled cable and the tofu60 redux screws
I dont use screws on mine i use the gummy oring moubt
Can you take pic of the usbc hole
Like make sure its not hitting the edges
nvm
i think i found the issue
im getting shocked when ever i put my feet on the floor
but when its lifted i dont feel any static
maybe cause my pc on the floor?
now thats very weird
is your floor carpet?
and selling it without pcb now interesting
wooden, but 2 pc on the ground
Damn salvation case is $185 now
Is it? Didnât notice
Looks like they have more colors available too
Fjell still $290 tho RIP
Right
yeah here
was going to pick up a solder pcb for mine but $65 no thanks
You get any caps from novelkeys today
Nah
Nothing caught my interest
Only one I probably wouldâve got is the GMK Regal
And itâs sold out
I treid to find some other stuff i wanted
but only wanted royal cadet
and at that point i would just go buy th eother purple set from spacecables i prefer which is Purple Nights
I have crimson cadet and would much rather have korean sublegends this time
Yeah I just wanted something clean looking but everything they had was too busy or too colorful for me
That salvation looking kinda juicy
thought about gmk panels
but i know myself and i would use it one time for a day and never again
do it
Donât tell anyone but I got a silver frog mini
1 mx plate and 2 HE plates
has anyone tried using wheel weights instead of a brass weight in their cases? these are $8 on amazon compared to $25 for the brass weight
i guess you could use these in the stock wooting case too
they look slim enough
maybe just wait till your can afford a brass weight made for the case
Bro
I literally have that and 2 plates
Why didnât you ask me
Itâs been sitting in the case it came with for a month now
Youâre not gonna use it at all?
Nope
Hmm
I got bored of the silver in 2 days so now it's been collecting dust
How you get bored of silver lol
I just like black, grey, and white for my keyboards really
but yeah it has alu plate it came with, pom and alu 60he plate, h60 pcb (solder) and then 60a 70a, and whatever stock tadpoles
xD
xD
This ones more defined
LOL
I think Iâm more disappointed than impressed
I mean the fact that we pulled cardboard and the fact that the idea is ghetto BUT overall it shld sound well
And the thock shld be well defined
Its the "i spend too much money and cant affort a case" edition xD
Im more impressed at the fact that from afar ppl wld think its a premium case
The Board Board
I legit thought this was a wooden case
wootingXtofu guys, did you use the wooting silicone or the black softer pad thingy with holes in it for the switches?
Did you use the tofu solid mat or did you use the wooting one? I want it as thocky as possible
Morning
even though it's 1pm for me
I'd say the same
hey guys will the alumaze increase or decrease the noise of the keyboard does the padding dampen?
đ”âđ«
I have a pre built 60he+ and I just pre ordered a 80 so I was going to make my 60 my work keeb. With the niose on the board currently stock prebuilt its a little loud for an office setting I think
you can put soft o-rings under your keycaps to make them bottom out ontop the switch instead of the stem inside bottoming out
that's what i did for a while
Alumaze, PC plate, silicone standoffs and handlubing them switches sounds really nice
Cardboard is good as well
another mod i'd been considering is getting rubber or silicon washers to cut up and fit into some of my switches, to reduce sound. Right now i use nylon washers 'cause they bottom out harder (nicer for RT) but most of my keys don't need that
(the Inner and outer diameter of the washers i use are 5mm and 10mm respectively if you go for that option)
o-rings are significantly easier and not much more expensive though, they just might not feel or sound as nice
Designed by Beesley & Cthalupa, this set consists of Cherry Profile, dye-sub keycaps. NicePBT 1928 takes inspiration from the character Steamboat Willie, which stands as a pivotal moment in the evolution of animation. The kit includes split spacebars, three-key ISO support, and and robust 40's/ortho support!
I kinda like these
Reminds me of that tube art mouse mat you sent @stray tiger
keep in mind switches and keycaps are the biggest source of sound btw
oh yeah! also switch films may help reduce noise
Rubber hose art is the proper name
Couldnât remember lol
Yes, I know 2 users that have done this
Yeah, the copyright (or something like that) for that art style recently expired so it's legal for people to use it now.
Yes I've done it and it works well.
I canât decide on a set for the 80HE
White zinc
New Xray set from KBD looks good
Dunno if I just wanna do WOB
How heavy?
omg it fits perfectly
how much weight did it add? does it change the sound?
Kinda like Redacted too but depends on what the look/theme one wants to achieve
Just a clean white keyboard really but I like redacted feel like itâd look good on the white zinc
Yeah i like it though it stands out a bit, like a BOW but with something extra
It was the 1/4oz ones and I can't say it changed the sound but made it heavier and less resonant
I'm try the 1/2oz one
Can't wait to confuse the hell out of people when they lift my wood keyboard

Oh you got a custom wooden one?
Yea I got a wood case
Ok, made it yourself?
Nah just bought of ETSY
I could make my own but I didn't have tools on hand
It would probably cost me more in tools to get a nice case made so I just bought one that looked nice
Hi, Ive ordered the wooting 60he module and Im waiting on my friend to give me a case. Im wondering if in the meantime I could use my old anne pro 2 case with the wooting module.
Do you know if it is gonna fit
Here's the compatibility list: #đ§âkeyboard_modding message
I don't think it does. Here's Anne Pro 2 case and the bottom right mounting holes don't align with the 60he pcb: https://ymdkey.com/products/anne-pro-2-aluminum-case-or-wood-case-for-anne-pro-2

Sorry, it won't fit
ah it doesnt
https://novelkeys.com having huge sale
salvation case is 205 usd rn
In the future i'll get it đ
very far far future
What's so special about the Salvation case?
Leaf spring mount
looks smegsy
nice bezels đ€€
i'd only recommend buying when it's on sale though
Sure but the Fjell is my personal favourite, 2kg for the 60% factor sheesh
I wouldn't mind having it but too chonky xd
I like a more simple box look anyways
Yeah was thinking of having changing the 60HE to the normal plastic case instead of the Alumaze to have it as a travel keeb
Other colors $185 too
ooh yeah
The ecoats or special ones are more expensive đ„č
Fjell good, but outdated. Was a nice case in 2019 when not much else was out there
Still a heavy case and just not having the Tofu look
The Tofu60 Walnut was not what i thought it would be the typing angle feels off
If you haven't already tho don't get it for 60he imo
sounded like a tin can when i had it
Ok đ
Nuke Data gone of course. Damn I guess I'll have to settle for Ronzilla squishy toy
Wow, it even sold out despite the price increase
probs because it was included in the b2g1
so even if you spentt hat much you still got free other kit
i just bought the kit + lube on wooting's store to lube switches and wanna start now. is the wooting guide a best reference to start off? or are there better guides?
The listing just looks odd in comparison to the rest, the green is meant to be the discounted price
Yee
I just know there was another set in the B2G1 that was same price as that
they didn't really do a deal lmao
Does anyone maybe know if the wooting travel case 60% might get a redesign? really liking the tavel case design they got for the 80% wooting keyboard.
My custom plates just arrived, on my way home to test them out
Hopefully they arrived safely
YAYYY
Does anyone know any good websites for ISO DE keycaps?#

great deal on salvation case rn! 185-205!
Not only that
Itâs case only
Which is a bit of a surprise
Usually they force you to buy the full kit
yeah you can buy pcb seperately if you want to
quite a nice deal
you do still get plate with this

any thoughts on this switch
I would love to have that white ecoat salvation but $205

yes
JWK has entered the game

Gonna give you more arthritis than stuff already
it looks like its only available in japan for now
They keep doing this 50g bottom out mannnn
There isnt much info about them
LOL dont come begging in here
YURRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
idk yet I gotta test em on the Wooting lol
ah
time to make a cardboard plate
LOL the new tape mod
you can cut out any of ur favorite snack boxes
and get a unique plate
everytyime
Cardboard case
i wonder with enough patience and skill
how much of it can actually be cardboard
apart from the internals
keycaps, case, plate
does the salvation case need a special plate or something? or does it just work with the wooting as it is
Just use a wooting plate with it
or buy custom like I did
đ
Works with the Wooting Steel and PC plates
Ended up being offsite all day and missed some of the Novelkeys sale items. By the time I got home only the GMK Olive was in-stock of the sets I wanted. I did pick up 3 of the PBT sets I didnt have though.
Yeah I almost pulled the trigger on some of those PBT sets
I'll look again and see now that I'm off work
3 sets for $99 is a fricken steal, and you get free shipping
I do not encourage spending money on keyboards. They are a luxury item. That being said, keyboards are better then other things so if you were going to spend it on other wasteful stuff, go with a keyboard instead.
keyboards > prostitutes
keyboards > gambling
keyboards > narcotics

lmfao are u a joke? that was 5 days agođ
Thanks but not sure about the SA profile, I'd have to try them first before buying
Plate display stands so versatile, kinda cool imo
ahh ok

i want to lube my l45 switches but am unsure which areas are ânecessaryâ to do so
i feel like the stem rails and spring are a must
Always wondered how you can lubricate your lekker switches or grease your stabilizer wire. In this video, we will deep dive on different methods of lubing and some general tips and tricks. Using the Wooting 60HE.
Krytox GPL 205G0 and Molykote EM-50L lubricant:

ooh you tease.. i mean what
I need to lube like 200 switches. Maybe Ill do it tomorrow and stream some of it. I did win a lubing station 2 weeks ago that just arrived
Iâm getting my wooting 60HE Tuesday and currently have ordered a burger mount and Tofu60 redux case. Iâm new to keyboard modding any other suggestions?
new plate?
-Lube Switches
-Tape mod
-Re lube/Holee mod stabs
-Switch pads
#đȘâmodding_faq is a good place to get started
there are a ton of different things you can do tbh

Thats whats up. If you stream it lmk
I wanted to stream it but I have a sore throat (which pisses me off lol)

Alright brotha
best switch films for lekker?
films dont really work that well
How do you install a gummy o ring mount?
It seems like the silicone padding between the pc plate and the module is in the way or am I missing something?
I bought jade
i use the foam padding to it just squeezes a bit
Does anyone have link for blue transparent keycaps
Good job!
Sounding good gj
thx
jwk joining the HE game
Everglide Box HE switches from the translation
is the tofu60 redux acrylic the only frosted/transparent case that's 100% compatible with the 60he? looking for a case swap that has that frosted/transparent look.
Man I never thought knowing JP would help translate keyboard switches out of all things

Any GH60 case should be fine
ohhh
thought they were making a HE board
was gonna say idk if i should be happy or not
they got the grippers too
but releasing a HE switch should be interesting
yeah gg on removing them
well you would just need to press each one
as it's the same concept as clip in stabs
this video shows how much they grip
gorilla grip c****** (clipper) switches
These switches are clipped into a 1.6mm hotswap PCB plateless. That grip is crazy.
Board: Roo60 (Han60v2 by Han Boards)

diferrent switches but uses the same concept
What am I doing wrong?
very wrong đ
Push the oring in the module
into the case
you have screw in stabs
cant have it sticking out of the plate
Also did you get the thinner oring
and that
svrew in stabs wont work
We must try!
get plate mount or preferably clip inas
or thinner oring
clip ins
Try foam layer
InputRice o-rings are now available in Canada! Supports gummy mount mechanical keyboards like Bakeneko60, TGR Unikorn 60, Phantom65, Parallel Portal, Monokai Kei, AEBoards Constellation, Hause Engineering HAND and more! The 60% o-rings were designed to be thinner than standard o-rings to allow for screw-in stabilizers on both the spacebar and ba...
Like you put the o-ring in between pcb and plate
idk if im seeing it right but from the image i think i see you using a silicone pad
I am using silicone pad
I understand that, but the stabs are in the way lol
Cant gummy mount with silicone
aight am gonna swap it out and see
The oring need to be inserted into the module while allowing the module to fit in the case
The only options you can do is No plate foam or poron plate foam
Fyi No plate foam will make it easier to take in and out
Poron works cus it gets compressed by the oring and it would still allow the module to fit into the case with the oring
However silicone doesnt compress so the oring would stick out otherwise
You could still gummy mount with screw in stabs, so id suggest you to keep trying with or without the plate foam
Used the poron
Ended up working! Thanks all.
I might cut the edges on silicone and try it just for fun at some point lol
No problemo
hmm
any high quality keycap suggestions?
the medium ring fits my stock screw ins with no plate foam in a redux
i just got my wooting any first mods i should do? and also can i get some keycap recommendations please
Handlubing them switches
Its absolutely worth it
my fav keycaps are Wuque Studios keycaps
best double shot pbt
You could also try cardboard xD
does anyone have a sound test of the zync alloy case for 80he

Thats probably the closest you will get to hearing it for now..
why does there always have to be something wrong with the switchâs orientation in renders đ€Ł
Wooting stabs size?
New to getting a nice keyboard, are keycaps universal or is there a size I need to look for when buying
you need mx stem (which is >99% of all keycaps), so you are pretty much good there. Pay attention to the layout you have, and a 6.25u bottom row (which is also the most common/usually included). Very low keycaps might have issues.
To sum it up, it's universal with an asterisk. These conditions are real easy to avoid. If you just buy any set, it will most likely fit.
there will be design files once the keyboard ships
Appreciate you
well as you found with your spacebar and wooting keycaps
tht's probably the issue here
is wooting compatible with cherry mx blues??
no you need hall effect switches
i fixed the spacebar sound by filling it in with some kilmat
maybe because the spacebar is too hollow
oh okay, thank you
I overlubed TX AP clip-ins (space doesnât even go back after pressing
)
How to unlube them?
I donât have one
It's the only way to truly unlube them
but just use your hands to spam it to thin it out a bit
all you can do really
It is impossible to spam if key doesnât go backâŠđ
Okay
Will try
Thanks

#đȘâmodding_faq you can start off here
You can let us know if you have any questions
question to the keycap masters around here, if i cut down some keycaps (the part where it connect with the switch, to make it lower would they normally still work fine? i got some low profile keycaps, they are great, but i have bougght a set that i am custumizing by hand, and i wanted to make them the same height as the low profile ones. i think theres enough gap inside to cover it but i'm not sure, anyone tried?
Can you lend me a piece
No, if you shorten that stem inside your keycap will start hitting the plate
then how do my low profile keycaps dont do that?
what i mean is to cut a normal size keycap, into the same size as my low profile keycap
Because the entire keycap profile is shorter, not just the stem
ah i see
are they that much thicker on the top?
Also you are going to end up with a massive gap between the switches and plate that is going to be very visible
yeah i have seen all those images, but they dont tell the full picture, they are not mentioning if the size of the keycap is bigger in the interior pole or if they are bigger on the top part of the keycap
Terms of height and thicknes yes
It would look like this
i would assume both are happening probably no? both the interior cherry pole is taller and the top of the keycap aswell
exactly
Goodmornin'
Mornign buddy. Did you do the FR4 last night?
Nah, gonna do it today probs, woke up sick af lol
Ahh that sucks. At least youre off today
I was supposed to go to birthday dinner for my aunt's bday but probs gonna stay home
yeah def
How to prevent getting dialectic grease between housing and stem of stabilizers? It makes it immobileđ
yeah i am using low profile, technically what i wanted to do is change my normal profile keycap by trimming the bottom both the pole and the side of the keycap to be honest i dont think to top part is that much thicker then the low profile keycap
I will do one to test it out.
Sounds like too much grease is being used
I just put wire in grease like in this guideâŠ
https://youtu.be/vxHb6CJc9V8?si=jAUP9OQCcvf2KGrL
I didnât even add it with syringe. It was already immobileđ
Here is how I mod my stabilizers. I get asked this a lot of my streams and honestly, I figured why not just record this so I can link this video instead of having to re-explain it every time. I hope you enjoy it. Please remember this video is only covering lubing and installing, some stabs like cherry clip-ins, you'll need to clip the bottom leg...
Are you sure the grease is causing that? Can you record a video clip and show us the issue?
has anyone tried a spacebar foam mod
what stabs are you using?
I've already disassembled the stabilizers to wash out the grease
But after pressing the key with the stabilizers, it just won't go back
Sounds like you inserted the stabilizer stem in backwards (assuming you mean it wont go down), if you mean it wont come back up but goes down just fine then its something else.
I'm pretty sure it's caused by friction because it moves if you help, but I'm not sure of the cause of the friction
Are they the stock stabs?
Then its likely the stabs are too tight in the plate. if its the PC plate youll want to file down the opening just a bit
Id suggest different stabs though
yeah mount them on the pcb and use a switch
It doesnât go down even under the weight of stem holder
that doesnt seem right
Its not the lube its your stabilizer
It was not like this before I lubed itđ
It was very easy to move it up and down after lubing with 205g0
Then I added permatex 22058âŠđ
how much dialectric grease did you add that thats how it turned out
id have said its wrongly assembled or smth but not too much lube
Just dipped the wire in dialectic grease
Itâs not because of the grease alone at least.
Is the wire getting stuck in the stabilizerâs stem
Itâs either the wire getting stuck in the stabilizerâs stem or the stabilizerâs stem gets stuck in the housing, maybe a ledge or rough spot?
is the wire under the stem?
@stray tiger Maybe you might know this. Since the pre-order of he 80 HE they are also showing a new carrying case for the 80% a studier one. would you know if they are going to redesign the 60% to be like the 80He carrying case. im really looking for a sturdy case for my 60he(redux) so ican take it to work and not have to use their shitty 1cent keyboards.
I tried to wash out grease with soap and water. Now it is better but not good enough. One side of stabilizer still experiences quite a bit of viscous friction
mmhmhmh guys i fucked up and lubed my switches a tad too much, is there any way to easily fix that?
I dont have any information about that. I do own 4 of these and they work great though https://kbdfans.com/products/kbdfans-d60-mechanical-keyboard-carrying-case
If its like a LOT too much, Id clean them and start over. If its just a little too much, you can take a dry brush and try wiping some out. if its just a tiny bit too much, itll settle in with use and dont worry about it
thanks for the advice, i really like how they sound so i'll keep them as is for a few days and see if there is any improvement, otherwise i'll wipe some out
Alright awesome. ill grab myself that one then! Do you know if it fits with a redux i would assume so but just to make sure.
Should fit fine and the inserts come out to even hold a 65%
owh nice! Thanks wisefather :p
How are your streams coming along? any more progress since the last switch test stream/vid?
Getting close actually. Ran into a few issues but hope to have them fixed this weekend:
- I use a 2 PC setup and the 2nd PC is a dedicated streaming machine. It was a laptop and when recording at 4k or at 2k 60FPS the fans would spin up fast and get too loud for recording. I tried to put fan speed limits on that machine but then the CPU and GPU got too hot and would start dropping frames after the stream was running for a while. So I built a dedicated streaming mini PC thats near silent, just waiting on the last fan to arrive today.
- I changed out some microphones. The shotgun mic I was using for the overhead capture was a bad choice for a small inside room. I replaced it with a new mic and I'm just waiting on a longer cable that should also arrive today.
I have tested the new streaming PC running a simultaneous 4k 30FPS stream and capture then again with a 2k 60FPS stream and capture and both worked great.
If you were watching that night where my stream started to freeze after a while, that was why. I thought it was my bandwidth but it was the laptop throttling due to temps
You really went full out on this. Awesome. Can't wait for this top quality content. How come you decided to go with a dual pc setup? A Single should just be fine no for streaming due to the fact your not gaming on it. (im probably missing out some info on your plans).
Im actually stoked for you especially with all the differnet microphones and angles itl really give us a way clearer picture/sound profile to what everything sounds like.
sadly wasnt able to watch it live. also past few weeks been in and out of the chat currently really drilling down into getting my IT certs :). want to get a few done this year so really gotta put in the time and learn them.
Why I went with 2 PC's is a question I ask myself every day lol. Truth is I did initially want to stream games as a secondary option so now I can should I ever want to go that route. The other issue was that I couldnt connect 3 elgato 4k cam links to my main PC along with all of my other USB devices. Elgato requires each cam link to be on its own USB host controller.
Feel free to add me on linkedin if you are working towards an IT career
ahh i see, makes sense now why u went with 2 pcs. hopefully self build :p. ever since ive build my own years ago i can never look at a prebuild again haha
Yeah for sure!. What's your linked in?
I feel like I may be crazy but I think lekkers sound better than jades and the plastic case sounds better than aluminimum case. Everything else is the exact same.
But am using jades and alumaze because it feels better lol
Sent you a DM
sound preference is really preference isnt it
True.

BTW the new dedicated streaming PC is just using an intel arc a310 GPU. Was $90 and can stream 8k video without breaking a sweat. The only other way to get a dedicated AV1 encoder is with an nvidia 40XX series card.
RDNA 3 will also support AV1 encoding
Also, you can't see it well in the pic but I added a second bamboo desk top to my desk and sandwich a layer of killmat between the 2 layers to reduce and reduce the hollowness that the top was making.
Well the streaming PC will never be used for gaming at this point so the arc card was a good choice. As long as it stays under 60c the fans never kick on. If they do kick on, it's audible so the extra fan Im waiting on thats coming today is to keep the temps down enough to try and prevent the GPU fans from coming on. During streaming it gets up to about 62c so I just need a little air on it.
ah i see the thockfather applies the clean desk policy
yeah that makes sense to me, I'm just saying u can also get AV1 encoding on AMD
