I prefer a treated but not dead room to avoid harmful resonances etc.. That's the ideal imo. Though never listened to speakers in a genuine anechoic chamber

My current room is not treated at all nor is there a lot of furniture to help, but I only do near-field listening so room has very little effect. It had quite some effect on bass but I calibrated that
