it scales down badly from highest tier gpu to lower tier gpus, mostly due to heavy use of expensive dynamic light, its not like you can just do that without the performance issue in any engine yet

the issue is not that UE5 is doing things worse than other game engines and other engines are easier to run

the issue is if you use heavy tools like lumen/nanite a lot it can tank performance with sometimes not proportional gains in looks

but if you remove them it does look worse so its a decision of how much of a tradeof are you willing to make

if you compare it to Borderlands3, bl4 looks a lot better and is a lot bigger

5. On an external HDD attached to an old laptop at my place (this is what I want to upgrade, as that laptop is highly temperamental and generally unreliable)

His archive includes over 100,000 photos and digital scans of film dating back to 1957

Cpu and GPU are running at 50% and 35% respectively. Temperatures are also fine. I reinstalled the Nvidia drivers and updated my bios, but so far nothing helped

My mouse CAN scan at 8 kHz
I can't decide if I like 1 kHz or 2 kHz better but it seems like there's a slight difference in accuracy and not much impact on latency

8 kHz was more latency and no benefit to me

Purely subjective, don't have professional test equipment, not a super twitchy pro

I settled on 1 kHz though, because it means I can just let my powerpad be my mouse transceiver and supply power and not need to have the 8 kHz dongle there with the pad only supplying power

Let's say you move a mouse over certain distance. First the sensor registers like 100 different CMOS images, compares them and converts those to x/y movements and sums them up. Those get sent to USB in packets, if it gets flooded XHCI IMOD comes into play. These packets can be stored in the USB buffer until such time arises that the cpu needs them. Then the cpu grabs z packets from the buffer. Now lets say you play a game like Overwatch that gets it's simulation updated every 200 fps (1/200 = 5 ms), the cpu grabs that filled usb buffer data every 5 ms to feed the game.

What you need to do is device manager - view by device connection, and look them one by one. So each HOST CONTROLLER is its own unit/device.
