"hack"
Apple still quite likes 16:10
16:10 is great on monitor/laptop screen
my config doesnt have cg_fov 🤔
That's just an engine value
so folding the clothes in a different way is not a life hack?
Config basically tells the engine what to change on launch
What hack do I need to be able to install XTU though?
the one where you just use uefi and mem tweaker
you need whack
C to crouch
space to uncrouch
WHY? XD
oh shit
IT WAS LEAN!!!
YOU CAN LEAN OUT OF COVER, FUCK YEAH
Well I can’t get into uefi three quarters of the time and it makes me waste so much more time
if you cant get into uefi I think your system is broken
You could in most cods via config files
Just never got officially supported
Well sth caused that pressing delete not always works anymore, prosbbly after driver updates so yes broken. But soemtiems the screen to enter uefi just doesn’t show which is a common thing
you just spam the button and dont wait to see the screen that prompts you lol
since that might just be lost on video side or the monitor wakes up too late etc.
Well it doesn’t work if the screen gets skipped
But better than before, I used to have to replug display port on this monitor
Now it at least works
Well I updated it couple of times and it’s still the same, but online not the only one with the issue by far
ever did a bios reset by resetting the cmos battery?
oh wait it was one of the wonky gigabyte boards with two bioses right
there is a character here called Foley...is this the same sergent Foley from the newer CODs???
he is Captain inis game
Indeed
Though I have switching disabled cause convenience
WHO
ok
THE ENEMIES CAN GO PRONE IN COD 1
I THOUGHT THEY WER DEAD AND THEY FUCKING KILLED ME LOL

ikr...
I got this game in America at a random gamestop for like 3 dollars, brough it home and played it on my 360
and now im playing again on my PC
the disc didnt have the case for it
just a generic gamestop disc sleeve
I forgot you whack TF out of people with the gun to melee
okay out of all the games that has given me issues installing the steam deck, the biggest one is currently Dwarf Fortress and that has to do with permission setup and such with the pacman terminal and I'm debating if worth fiddling with it or not.
(so far no other game has given me issues besides setting up controls for a few)
you need to use commands and pacman to install a game?
oh
i have a keybaord you doof 😛
Why are you playing a keyboard game on a Deck, you do of
Beucase you can
^
because its installed to a docking station at work as my laptop replacement
got 3-4 months left to wait ;;
I wanted to be incredibly lazy and wanted to use the Lazy Newb Pack because I don't want to fiddle with read only permissions and shit so I tried the LNP pack buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut it doesn't work on Steam Deck for reasons that is probably because lack of java preinstalled and that requires pacman
aye. again was being lazy
includes DF Hack and utilities
but for linux you have to enable memory manipulation to impliment DF utilities like Dwarf Therapy.
but I think DFHack works off the bat
DFhack should require the same - Also injects memory
I think it bypasses the need though, me thinks. I'd have to doublecheck. I didn't have issue on my desktop.
I need ot see if even the base DF game would work at all, I don't know yet.
Glad that OpenMW works without issue though
Still waiting patiently for Skywind and Skyblivion.
that some porting of the previous games into skyrim?
Yup.
meh. That wouldn't really go so well except maybe for oblivion.
Works fine.
no i mean, like
if its trying to direct copy wont work.
but fi its just visiting the place then thats different
No one wants Morrowind RPG mechanics xD
i meant the same enemies npc and quests lol
Eh?
In the Skyrim - engine.
or is it just the location?
yeah, i'm not saying port over the morrowind game mechanics. I was meaning in asking if they were doing jsut location or the whole adventure*
Entire game. With up to date graphics.

Old trailer but it gets the point across.
HD Vimeo link: https://vimeo.com/345488615 (recommended)
We have several major updates and announcements with the launch of this trailer. Please read!
First, the Skywind team is still in need of volunteers for almost every department. You can find links to our application on https://tesrskywind.com/ or on our discord here: https://discord.gg/W...
Meh, can't wait for Starwind, Starblivion, Starrim
I don't think it'll go over well. The pace of morrowind is so vastly different.
Never had any issues with the pacing or anything else for that matter. Glad to be rid of the old-school RPG elements that never really worked.
as in like, enemies paced to relfect the mechanics*
don't know what you mean by 'never really worked'. they worked fine.
HA HA HA
what didn't actualyl work was pickpocketing. that was bugged-broken.
you laugh but i'm for real.
Oh no! Your shield score wasn't high enough. Even though through you blocked, you didn't actually block. Try another 200 times to learn it.
I'm wondering when Skyblivion releases
Oh you hit an enemy? Sorry. Your dice roll wasn't good enough to do anything.
They are actually attempting to code the janky magic making mechanic from Oblivion
Which, funnily enough, was a highlight of Oblivion
yeah its like you never heard of tabletop or any RPG
Bitch I was raised on Baldur's Gate. It does NOT translate into a first person, real time action combat game.
Did BGIII release yet?
same here. but I didn't ahve the issue translating it into first person.
They announced it like years back I remember
Next year... hopefully.
I heard nothing about it
like. someone never using an axe weapon before aint going to do dick with one if they suddenly picked one up. it's imagined dodge and parry and block mechanics. like, you know, WoW and such.
I am hoping that the new Fable reboot doesn't suck, but I heard they're already trimming the fat which is unfortunate and have leadership quitting problems
WoW doesn't have you physically wield and thrust weapons.
Morrowind does - And it did not work - at all.
If your weapon connects, it should do something. Not go "no sorry - low dice roll formula result"
the fac tof the matter is : morrowind was made to be closer to classical RPG, not action based like Oblivion and Skyrim. thats just the way it is.
regardless of first person or not
I missed polearms in Skyrim
Enjoy your OpenMW. The rest of us have embraced actual combat long ago 😄
it being made that way does not mean that way is good
Morrowind honestly, I'd say, is a pretty jank and bad game
you nseem to be under the impression that I think morrowind is BESTERETS IN THE WHOLE World or something.
I am just defending it for what it is.
It doesn't explain the game mechanics at all, and you stabbing something 10 times out of which maybe 1 hits is like, what?
No - I am under the impression that you somehow consider Morrowind's combat good. Which it is not. Even for its time.
I was so confused initially why my slashes weren't doing anything
I had to go to the damn wiki to read that "IF YOU AREN'T OF GOOD ENOUGH SKILL, YOU WILL MISS NEARLY ALWAYS"
If you look at it like a traditional RPG, yes. I find it works. great? no.
A game where rpg elements make little sense at times
Mansen’s example
How does one miss with a knife, can someone explain
Axe connects? Should do some damage
Traditional RPGs were - again - not first person action combat systems where you physically swung a sword and made contact 😄
Yes - Daggerfall also fails this basic concept.
You're more than welcome to have that opinion. I for one do not share it at all.
thats okay
Morrowind is one of my favourite games - That I will never - ever fucking boot up in its original form - ever. 😄
I do understand it, there's indeed a big disconnect when swinging a sword, and SEEING it touch but it mechanically not touching
but i've played plenty of other games that did the same so i'm fine with it
Games like Kingdom Come properly show how to handle untrained combat. Not by going "sorry - you're a novice so that sword slash that just went through the enemy's head didn't actually do shit all" but by having you have actual, physical difficulty swinging around that sharp blade and having you physically miss or get blocked.
aye, I agree
we are talking about Bethesda's standards too, fyi 😛 and also a dirt old game. like. early 2000s that has been worked on since 90s
Eh, bethsoft did better
That's great - We weren't judging for what it is, but comparing it to moving the game into the Skyrim engine if you'll recall.
Fallout 3?
Weapons won’t magically be ineffective, but less accurate if you don’t have high enough scores
It’ll still do damage if the bullet connects
No “hur dur gun score too low, switch back to the 10mm pistol”
right but it can't be a DIRECT port into SKyrim's engine
you have to do a lot fo changes
Yes of course.
The STORY and locations get ported over and enhanced. Gameplay MECHANICS are adapted and systems modded in where it makes sense.
I'll be shocked if they actually got in Morrowind's magic system.
A lot of Morrowind's spells were scripts. They're doing all they can to port everything over.
aye, spell making
but you also need ot be able ot change :
how many spell effects, duration, range, and the like
and then you have to put in a bunch of spells that were removed over the two game series
Did you even click on the vidya
no i'm at work i can't do videos
But he can waste time on discord

difference as to what can pass through fitlers 😛
I hadn't tried installing VPn on the steam deck yet.
@fringe salmon "Today, it is our pleasure to announce that we have secured another $2.4 million USD from private investments to help us continue this incredible, community-building project. Added to the funds raised in earlier stages of Series A funding, our total investment capital raised to date, is now $5.34 million. This figure is additional to crowdfunding efforts and is a huge accomplishment for Pantheon! We are grateful for our ardent and supportive community, and our investors who share the same zeal to see Pantheon break into the modern game sphere and bring people together. It has been an unprecedented journey, and it is an enormous joy to continue to bring it closer to launch with all of you."
OMG YA
:-----)
ohh thats cool
Judging by the fact it's Dag
also, like, isntead of a video you can just say : "yeah they include complete spell making"
It's that pantheon game isn't it?
Why bother - You're going to do a dialogue tree worth of follow up questions that the video shows anyway 😛
Mansen he always finds ways to argue, for no reason at all
not impossible.
Sometimes I bet it's just for fun ngl
Yepp
Another CohhCarnage stream on 27th
Dag you seem like probably one of the only people that actually are interested in that game
also it's another point that shows how much it actually costs to make halfway decent games
I have never heard anyone talk about Pantheon other than Dag
Some are moderately interested, but I will bet many will try once it releases
you can make great games on the cheap. it certainly doesn't take hundreds of millions/billions
it's an mmo...
Tell that to star citizen..
Yeah Mmorpgs are the most complex games, so hard to release even mediocre one
Did they even release anything worthwhile for SC yet?
What about that weird offshoot Squadron 42 that nobody asked for?
didn't that fall under a lawsuit?
I hope SC releases one day.. but I have given up hope
That thing wont releases ever even if you put all game companies in the world working on it
Lad got burnt by Star Citizen, and is again on the crowdfunded game train just to get eviscerated the second time
I'll never believe any crowdfunded game. Early access or bust
^^
the developer is KNOWN for doing this in their previous games.
it was expected and predicted and it was turned true.
I've had nothing but a blast with early access games, like Postal 4
when that came out we didn't even have a task list for monday
just a sandbox, some weapons and no optimisation whatsoever
now
we have a fully fleshed postal game, loads of weapons
and no optimisation whatsoever
Early Access games can be a blast yeah.
as god intended
there are very good games that came from kickstarter so it's all up to how they follow through and for pantheon it seem solid so far, no major delays for no reason etc.
Tbf, I pledged in both around the same time.. 2014-2015 or so 😛
SC I was able to sell for more than I paid for so it's no biggie.
I earned about 200$
I hold absolutely no faith for anything that has anything to do with melee fighting gods and greeks and whatever
That Ubisoft game nobody talks about, wasn't that good
Babylon's fall.. well.. we know how that flopped
Eh I'm still hopeful for Star Citizen one day, I only put in the bare minimum though and also have the golden ticket
Pantheon's biggest issue is reach; it's mainly known to older MMO gamers and tab-target enjoyers
There it is loved
babylons fall did not fail because of its setting lol
And of course funding due to bad reach 😦
Yep still hopeful myself. I got the cheapest flyer atm but havent downloaded the alpha for like 4 years
Well to get more reach.. maybe they should make it a premier web3 game
idk if this is sarcasm
xD
Yesnomaybe
you have to be real careful with kickstarter MMOs. so far they have, uh, been either scams or promised too much and flopped and had lawsuits. I don't know of any that suceeded.
Kingdom come?
Not MMO
Tru
Kingdom Come is hella good
I am still waiting for the sequel
Maybe they will FINALLY ADD CROSSBOWS
And bigger battles
And medieval economy
And landlordism
And trading caravans
And playing not as a soldier
I agree, though it failed kickstarter @solid bough. After that it has gained 5.34 million $ via investors + X amount from private pledges on their site (probably 2-5 M $)
Ngl KCD never broke on me
I was watching day 1 reviews and I was surprised how broke it was
Well it's the same way I am surprised how people complain Skyrim is broken
Games never break on me for some reason
right but they been working on it for 8 years. Why hadn't they reached to a publsiher?
I have lost so many HOURS of progression due to the dumbest possible glitches, bugs, crashes and AI going braindead at the worst possible time that I will never ever play KCD without unlimited saves 😄
Good death penalty atleast. Not some silly casual game 😛
They don't want microtransactions
Just sub
I am really sad that KCD modding scene is dead
there was another MMO that got 8million in their crowdfunding and it spent years teasing the fans and showing nothing. and ithe 8 mill wasn't enough
Like I think back in early 2021 or 2020 they released full on game dev tools for people to use
And... nobody has ever used them
Camelot? Elyria? Yep. Rip.
ah yes those
also you can incorporate MTX that wont damage integrety of the game
but if you ahve to do it to even get the game out : you have to compromise
game development is not free of compromises
Yeah but if you don't want any MTX at all, not even cosmetics to compromise the integrity of the world and setting
If you want cosmetics to be earnable
It's kinda hard to get investors
maybe maybe not, thats all negotiations and stuff between them
u can have cosmetics with mtx that just fit into the world
and arent sonic costumes
or amogus
you can get cosmetics that don't affect the game
Yep, whhich is why I'm happy they got 2.4 M now
I'll belive it when I see it tbh. Never seen it. I guess it's technically possible, but how then do you make it so everything is also earnable within game?
earning the MTX*
make the cashshop shit sellable
Then that's p2w
im confused how ingame money makes u win a game
P2W is if it affects mechanics
All loot in the game is sellable, even raid loot
ideally the actually good gear is char bound and has to be ground out
make all of the cash shop items available with a free to earn currency
well, fashion is the endgame for most MMOs, so it does blend the line a bit there
again, dog, we talking cosmetics
see thats the games problem then
No it's intended design
no it means i can p2w by blackmarket buying money
the game is p2w even without cosmetics
the point is its possible to integrate MTX that wont break the game
i love the idea of no MTX
but you also have to get the game released or there's simply just no game and all the money and development is wasted.
you gonna get refunded? no
aye, subscription is acceptable
Yeah but 101% of developers are caving in. I think the idea is, if it can be made entirely cosmetics free then Pantheon is probably only chance we get at it. If it fails, that so be it, it's a willing sacrifice 😛
Though I'm sure they'll cave in if that happens
what do you mean "101%" of developers?
All and their mothers
so how does it ensure a revenue stream
by googling subscription based mmorpgs without cash shops 😄
cause u can make it f2p and buy 2 play and hope people keep buying it enough
ah
thats what i suggested tho
its also what he started with so I dont quite follow what the discussion is about
Subscription based games are honestly cancerous
idk i only jumped in to mention mtx doesnt have to ruin a game as u can make the items sellable
I play genshin maybe twice a quarter
It can't. It's an issue which they acknowledge. Their fans are hoping the mmo-space returns to sub-only mmorpgs. It's ultimately a passion project
can't reach subscription if the games not released
Like am I supposed to pay for Genshin cause I play it once a month and then leave until next content drop?
Subscription services are, imo, predatory
genshin is f2p?
It is, and that's why I love f2p
You pay for netlix/disney/hulu etc?
I'll never play WoW just cause it's so unfairly priced
No
ok
almost like it's a completely different game design so a subscription wouldnt make sense there?
y'arr
Genshin is F2P because it uses live services for money,as in battlepasses and MTX and gambling
WoW does not need subscriptions
WoW can literally copy ESO design and do just as well
anyway my opinion is mtx can be dome without harming the game and if u let any dumbo buy the best raid gear from a market place u already fucked ur game
Instead of monthly payments, just release paid content patches
You have the base game and an array of content patches
I think you may be too young to have experienced older mmorpgs where there was content for years of play, rather than weeks that is the norm nowadays.
It's hard thing to imagine, but it was like that
Yeah I think I was like, 2 years old when WoW released
remember when we used ot be charged by the minute?
subscription costs could go as high as 500 a month lol
and not olay for 8hrs a day cause u paid a sub and the internet
Like Elder Scrolls Online is literally WoW-like, and it offers you the base game and also expansions to pay for
ya would also take me years to finish shit
Expansions becoming integrated into the base game after like 2 years or something
And I don't at all mind ESO design, just pay for expansions
But why monthly payments, that's stupid
Well, there's not gonna be that much raid gear since there are no instances (multiplicative loot) ;P
I don't think ESO is wow-like. SWOR is WoW-like, SWG post-sony is WoW-Like, for instance.
It was once said by an economist that Everquest had the best economy of all mmorpgs ever made.
pretty sure eve online has a solid economy
Old Republic and.... uhh... Galaxies?
I got no clue what SWG is
The old Star Wars mmo.
The one where you could build settlements.
And where Jedi expansion ruined the game.
@solid bough Omg I miss Pre-CU SWG
Yup.
I think that's why I have 2000 hours in Arma, 1950 hours of which in the map editor
Building stuff is fun
AND there's an "private server" version of SWG out.
play cities skylines
It's pretty solid.
way easier
Skylines got boring after the same gameplay loop over and over
There is a univeral law that after x minutes of building, a random player builds a penis or swastika
like real city planning
I hope you go back where you just came back from
it was radically different
i thought the law was if its a sandbox building environment someone will make a penis or swastika
but then there came a time where it radically cahnged and became... far far stream lined.
it was trying too hard to compete with WoW
Just like EQ2 and even EQ1..
Why they failed
anyways the other is Old Republic which, yeah. WoW-Like
Except actually a good RPG.
Sony Online Entertainment at its finest 😛
I had my fun with Star Wars Old Republic, yeah
😄 fkin Smed!
I would pick it over WoW. WoW just has ties to nostalgia.
WoW kind of forgets the part where you want a story - Skipping all of the previous expansions and expecting new players to know the entire story.
they tried to fix it in the other expansion pack, the one before the other, iirc.
i mean have u seen shadowlands?
it was some spirit time warping stuff to like, experince previous expansion pack story lines
yeah Shadowlands
aye. I certainly jumped into that classic for a short spell. was fun indeed. but eventually moved on.
also I wanted to just cut all ties with the company forever.
Yeah I enjoyed the classic for a bit, but even then it was a nerfed/much more accessible version of the true original experience.
nerfed/accessible?
it was accessible in the sense of they put it ona modern engine so it wouldn't explode because shitty old drivers only
nerfed prob refers to the tons of fixing and updating to be closer to modern wow
its just not entirely vanilla
No, a lot of enemies and heroics were nerfed iirc. Most classes had 1-2 years worth of buffs, etc. Bosses nerfed. Phasing. Etc.
I can't remember the specifics
I didn't see that when I jumped into Classic.
But it makes it so much easier if everyone is suddenly doing 20% more dps because of years worth of buffs
They started off with ver. 1.12? balance patch
they gave it progressive updates up until the Burning Crusade one which is yes including the balancing from back the up to the burning crusade
then they released BC classic and such separate and all that
It's like they're making Vanguard Saga of Heroes Emulator atm, and it will feel too easy due to 7+ years of buffs and changes
They are not the true experiences like it was back then
how do you know its not the stats and such of back then? could have sworn they said it was and changed them to be so.
I've read many times it's using 1.11/1.12 patch version for talents and skills. So around 1-2 years worth of changes to classes. It may have even been pre-patch for TBC
idk if i can deal with getting my ps4 out and playing at 30fps
lol
Be it as it may, usually classic/TLP's are easier version than what the games were back in the days. And then people claim hurrdurr people cleared place X in 1 day, we're so much better than the players back then!!
Same shit for EQ
hold on i'm confused
you say "back int he day" but fi they are using the stats and such as "back in the day" then ... uh.. i don't get the difference? like yeah it didn't release on version 1.0.000 or what have you but even a patch within one year is still "back in the day"
I'm confused now. 😄
or wait hold on let me look t the dates I think i got my numbers mixed
okay it was 2-3 years between them, my bad
okay so, which version was it that classic launched with again?
originally wow launched at 1.1
1.2 came out..... within the same year it launched
ah i see it
classic launched with
post 1.12
mmh
okay i do see your point. it is a 2 year old patch they applied
I thought they started from a different one
Yeah I'm not saying it's a completely different game - just that classic servers are usually slightly easier & more accessible
right but at the least less game broken i am assuming, with patch fixes and wahtnot by this point.
or fixing any stupidly-broken skills/spells and the like, possibly.
Yeah definitely, I guess some specs became playable
but yeah my bad again
No worries
Just wait 5 years and play it on pc
@bleak pike get fucked
i was very aware of that
What's happening with yours?
Nothing bad other than it being stupidly hot to touch
Hah
Couldn't be the hot UK weather.
Gaming on a handheld

same goes for any electronic computer
i owned 7 of em
I have played countless games on my PSP and I don't recall them ever being hot
psp isn't a computer 😛
Ugh... I still need to fix my PSP.
But boy UMD discs were shit
also a psp can get too hot too if you throw it in an enviornment that is, well, too hot
Why did they invent UMD?
Gotta get around to gutting the rest of the UMD room, so I can fit the new battery...
sony always invents new formats
Does anyone even make them anymore or let alone use UMD anywhere else but PSP
the first gen PSP was pretty ahead of its time
The PSP came with SD cards though...
plus optical cheaper than at time SD cards to hold huge storage for games

I think I was like 10, and I was like "Wait, can't I just download games off of like, emuparadise?"
yeah a whole whopping 512mb stick, in proprietary format
Adaptors
My PSP for whatever reason I don't even remember jailbreaking
thats aftermarket
It just took downloaded roms like a champ
So is piracy ya dunce 😄
i didn't mention priacy 😛
piracy*
anti piracy UMD
We had SD...
they're aftermarket!
...
Cool car
yeah.
I was hoping for a haiku..
I was sorely disappointed
Which also failed on day 1
yeah that happens
the wii one was a clever trick, caught crackers off guard
TWO operating systems
I'd hardly call removing the top and/or replacing it with CD sized discs a difficult task 😄
i beleive nowadays there's an adapter you can plug into the bottom of the gamecube
It's yet another example of trying to do something proprietary and having an obvious side door right there.
It'd be like releasing a SNES with USB. Gee I wonder which of those two people are going to target for piracy.
lol
still disappointed there's no kitty personalization menu
nnu ;-;
21 million players of ESO
I'm wondering is this like, monthly
Cause
Very competitive numbers
It’s not monthly and the blizzard numbers are also inflated since they count other activities on battle net
Ah, yeah the fine print at the bottom says it's numbers from launch to latest update
So yeah that's quite sad
It's not doing badly at all though, very surprising considering ESO launched in a bad state
Glad that the Zenimax team made that game shine
I did actually play it a bit, pretty good MMO
Ff14 had 24million last October before the expansion launched
I couldn't get into FF14
I don't really into MMORPG, but something about that art style and quest design
It was just... meh
unfortunate
Do you peeps actually like the art style of the game?
Cause the game looked really dated and just unattractive
no
well they are working on upgrading the entire game visually enxt expansion
but it doesnt really bother me currently
but on the other hand am not much for eastern/anime inspired artstyle for starters
but yeah, all they showed was all stuff they did after one month of testing things out nothing final etc.
Textures are a lot better
keep in mind the game and first expansion had to run on ps3 still
It's still on PS3?
god no
but something you can already do is use shader mod to get most of these things already if looks were the main reason
Well well... People told me to check Gshade, and damn: they were RIGHT. I'm stunned how it helps the incredible assets Creative Business Unit 3 made shine, and how much it elevates the overall experience!
GShade: https://gposers.com/gshade/
Thanks for watching! We hope you enjoy.

So Skyrim shaders basically
with how many people do basically only screenshots of poses all day there are so many presets to use
I still cannot fathom how incredibly important shaders are in games
anyway free trial, unlimited time, award winning expansion join now
I was close, but aborted halfway installed
mistakes were made
well I've seen plenty of what its about, bf been obsessed with that shit for well over a year and plays it all the fuckin time lol
couldn't bribe me to play that

¯_(ツ)_/¯ your loss
The game's still on that trial mechanic, where you hit a specific level before you get locked out?
you can play to like lvl 50 iirc
lv 60 which is the entire base game and first expansion
So about everything worth playing for free?
well you are missing the newer expansions, the current endgame etc. you could farm the old endgame sure but the new stuff is so much better
Are there like multiple expansions with like a 59.99 pricetag each?
but yes there are a decent amount of people who only play the free trial
currently theres a sale for 25 you get all expansions atm
usually its 35 or so for the complete edition I think
think it was 40 on release for the latest expansion
the website is still the worst part of the game ngl
I really dont understand why they make it so hard for people to give them money
I dunno man, am just kinda allergic to the char design and artstyle on top of gameplay and progression system that's already an overindulgent timesink in typical MMO fashion, I'm all for enjoying video games but you want to be truly committed and well versed into the world and community you've practically went from playing a game to living inside it
perhaps more so than any MMO I've encountered prior
and those people are probably having a blast
idk you reach max level with one character just following the main story quest and there are a shit ton of catchups for levelling other jobs
no an xp bonus I'd see in something I call a timesink
they are currently even adding NPC support for older dungeons and raids so you can do all the main game without any community interaction if you dont feel like it
My brain went to Char the character instead of shorthand for Character
well kind of my point, you have submechanics and minigames to the point where you're more or less encouraged to spend your entire waking time hanging out in there
RIP Azneble
hmm you can do a lot of stuff but you aren't really encouraged to spend more time than you want to invest in it
there is no push for doing dailies since you dont miss out on gear you need or anything, if you just want the story and no second job you can fully ignore the rest and see it as a long RPG that you have to log in for
Ooh nice good thing they're upgrading visuals
Gotta check how much I need to pay for all expansions
they are currently on sale
a lot of its appeal (to those who enjoy it at least) is the community and events built around that too, the social aspect imo are an equal or larger pull than much of the game itself, especially to the veteran base
so probably 25 bucks
well yeah I wont deny the community is big, I'm just saying the game has a lot to offer still if you exclude all of that
I know a few people that resub like once per expansion, play the main story, maybe some side content while the month is active then leave for months
so it certainly has all the points you describe, and art style etc. is something one either likes or not, but it's just a timesink if you want it to be not because it forces daily tasks on you that you need for X or Y
Well everything is a timesink
I might be narrowing down on those aspects too much but its kinda what makes these huge MMOs stand out and not really something found in other games much
well the big difference in 14 from other mmos to me is that you can fully enjoy the story part as a full AAA rpg game and then just not do the mmo part aside from the dungeons/raids you have in the story
So SWTOR?

have not played that so cant compare it
I found myself enjoying FF14 more fameplay and mechanic wise
But honestly i found myself cari g about the story character bits of swtor more.
Some of the SWTOR storylines are pretty forgettable. But a few are just amazing - Like the Agent.
The first arc main story of ff14 is.... like it doesn't fit
Ih def
Loved the agent bits
ARR is them just salvaging the game and making it playable again, they said back then they had no real plan for the evil guys yet
Can't have been worse than the jedi opening story
Like, by the nine was it drab
The sith might have been typical but it didnt ham fist it down your throat
I don't remember which but one of the Sith storylines is also pretty good.
Most of what i can remember is the ability to backhand my minion-companion and that justified 15 dollars a month
The Jedi Consular is basically the boring, diplomatic parts of Star Wars. Remember the part from Episode one where Qui Gon and Obi attend talks with the ... trade federation? It's like that all the time - But without the awesome fight scenes.
Bounty Hunter is also so dull - You're basically on a big old scavenging hunt on every planet taking down a specific target. It just feels like anything BUT being an awesome boba fett character.
Jedi Warrior? Knight? Is basically Star Wars : the movie.
You could call it the CANON movie plot - With all of the other storylines being the side characters you don't see in the movie in a way
Aye and thats dandy but its possible to make fictional politics and diplomacy interesting
Why are we doing this now
some of these arent even funny, lame scores for all of these.
my bet is on this being from a youtube video
lame
the cards are really shit recently
Dark comedy lost its edge 😦
or we're too jaded because we're already bunch of internet dicks
hello darkness my old friend
Ubisoft has canceled development of Splinter Cell VR and Ghost Recon Frontline (and two other unannounced games)
2385
359
Ubisoft is hitting rock bottom at this point
Poor Splinter Cell man
A great franchise in the hands of idiots
Ghost Recon could do so much more than the trash Ubi made it into
And we still need a single player, faithful to the originals Rainbow Six
Wtf
So when is Ubisoft closing
Hopefully tomorrow
well yeah they have to cancel these games : they have to make budget for their NFT programs
for a moment i thought it said avatar got cancelled
Inb4 it does
