Im pretty new to keyboards and was hoping for some advice, purchased the 80he with zinc case

I have not lubed the switches yet but will be doing soon

Currently using the stock v2 switches but wanting to go a little heavier, what have peoples experiences been with heavier spring packs vs different 4mm switches?

My wooting 80HE for about a year already has been doing this weird thing where sometimes when my pc boots on it will automatically hold down either one or several other keys

the only way to fix it is either to slam my hand on those keys or re plug in the keyboard

You can also add custom keybinds elsewhere. Mode swaps between your last two profiles, cycle cycles through them all one by one.

Keep in mind you'll have to add keybinds to each profile.

i was way to late for this 😉 thx mate for hint. The DHL courier came round earlier and I refused to accept the delivery. The parcel will then be sent back to Wooting. I think that’s the quickest and easiest way for Wooting to get the packaged or unopened goods back.

I first ordered the 80HE in a plastic case, but then realised there’s also an aluminium version, which I’d much rather have. So I placed a second order. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on the keyboard. It's my first Wooting.

You're probably asking the one guy at Wooting who cannot use ANSI easily. Because Danish puts <>\ on the key that ANSI does not have (next to left shift and Z)

For me to get used to ANSI would require me making a custom keyboard language with those missing keys on every PC I use 😄

Yes...no. as Nadia mentions, newer batches have foam pieces in the larger keycaps.

It helps reduce the hollow sound. But ultimately it isn't a silver bullet.

I already had to get a replacement because the first keyboard came with scratches. i was really worried about the whole process, mainly due to the import duties and taxes. i dont want to go through this again even though it went smoothly thankfully. I will try to ask here and wait for an answer before opening a support ticket. but it doesn't look like its a common issue, otherwise i'd assume you would have known about it, and other people as well

Doesn’t sound like a hardware issue. Sounds more like a setting not set quite right, for example is the profile you want to use the top most profile?

Otherwise every time you power on again it’s going to default to the profile that isn’t at the top for example

Yes the coating has been improved, that's the reason there is a V2 zinc case. White is already available black needs a little longer

Some switches are tricky cause they're designed for south facing LEDs, so on a North facing board like ours, the text is upside down.

But the rule of thumb is - the window that looks through the switch oriented on top of the led so it shines through.

Finally got one myself. I didn't think I would be in a position where I am saying damn I am a little overwhelmed at just the sheer amount of features, options, and well its also my first mechanical keyboard in fairness. But It's impressive even if I won't use/not practical for everything in this giant pool of options for me but that said it feels better for sure in terms of control, actual touch feel, and sound so far. I am a bullet hell and stg player mainly so I suppose if anyone has recommendations for settings in this area, feel free to send me a message. Can say the acutation point values being so variable is helpful so far at least. Just kind of putting my thoughts out there at the moment and processing a little bit.
