only if you are not satisfied with stock stabs
To be honest that my first custom build and i want some recommendations on what things to mod first besides switches. The stabs were mentioned the most
What would you say are the most ROI mods?
stabs wont change the sound or feel much, as long as the ones you currently have are propely tuned and dont bring any unwanted noise (rattle etc)
Is it better then to delay purchase of aftermarket stabs and just buy the lube for stock ones?
tape mod is cheap and can be good depending on what you like (i personally run no tape), trying out different dampening materials like poly fill for example can also be very cheap. After that new switches and a different plate are more expensive but change a lot, finally a case will be the most expensive mod and its mostly looks and some sound stuff
What would you recommend for someone like me that only had mainstream keyboards from asus, logitech etc? I ordered black zinc prebuilt and picking between Novas and UFOs, besides that im not sure what should i mod (if anything). Maybe leave as is at least for some time?
oh yeah, keycaps are also mostly looks and can get very expensive
if you are interested in trying some different stuff out, you can just grab some cheap supplies to mix and match and see if you prefer one setup over the other.
you can do a tapemod with painter's tape and swapping internal foam with poly fill is also very very cheap
Do i get that on ali? I looked up torontokeyboardman but almost everything is sold out
I mean plate and foam
ali is fine for plate and foam yeah
just make sure its the correct plate, most plates are for ansi so if you are using ISO you will run into issues
So regarding stabs i think i will leave stock ones but might lube them. In what form should i buy 205g0 - can and brush, syringe etc?
Will there be any new colorways for the 80HE zinc alloy case?
Any mods that I can do to the 80he?
Tape mod I believe.
Anything else?
you can go as crazy as you want
Custom key caps, switches, cases, foam insert, custom lubing, stabilizers,
I know some people like fancy cables. But I'll probs get an ltt true spec c to c cable.
I just need to sell two Pokémon cards than I get fin sky get the Wooting80HE
I was asking about this
why is f2 till f7 in red?
its on its period
Seems like the colours you assigned to them
whatever the website tells you :)
But I can’t buy it yet, so that’s why I’m asking

The checkout still gives you an estimate before paying 🙂
Ok
Dang thats pretty quick if I buy it now it comes March 9 to 14
how can i change that i usally use SignalRGB
I'm trying to change the switches on my Wooting 80 HE Tenz version and they won't come out, what do I have to do?
in our software, wootility
try to wiggle them lose with the switch puller
I would recommend taking the plate off and pushing them out from underneath
im to stupid to find it 🙁
hello guys, i have a 80he with spanish iso, i have it for like 3 months now, suddenly my layout changed and i dont know how to fixit, any help would be good
Changing the keyboard layout of your keyboard on a Windows based machine is pretty simple, this guide will help you install and help you switch between them. In
Anyone got a good tip on a good starting point settings wise (actuation/rapid on or off etc) when you come from a 7 year old razer blackwidow elite with yellow linear (1.2 actuation) switch?
I got a 80he for about 4 days now, but started absolutely sucking in any game i play when i swapped to this board. Got quite a bit of hours already on it but idk where to start really.
So far i use 1.4 actuation on all keys and 0.4 rapid on all keys + tachyon mode...
id say like 0.4 to 0.7 ish
for all settings
then adjust with pref
Actuation 0.4-0.7 all keys and no Rapid?
no like actuation and rapid can all be in this range
Wow that sound really low
Really XD
I mean, i feel like i need some softer transition settings haha i just dont know tbh
Maybe just transition without Rapid trigger or something
is there some info about dimension of he80?
I would like to know what the total length is
Is there a date for when the wooting 80he restocks on the outlet store?
Generally it will say the date If they know.
I mean it is in stock rn
I just bought one
the us isnt getting that stock anytime soon
last time i asked it was summer at the earliest
for the prebuilt wooting 80 he what swtiches does it come with the lekker tikken medium?
it comes with the lekker l60 v2
Only the 60HEv2 and TenZ edition uses Tikken out of box.
80HEs can be upgraded with Tikkens retroactively though, correct?
Yes 🙂
awesome, I got a refurb model on order rn, I am thinking of replacint the switches on it sometime later down the line, but rn the money was only enough for the keeb as is
with?
what abt rgb?
Here's an idea. Ask your actual question instead of poking people everywhere.
its not working for me
Then you'll need to make a #1019755933959733258 thread. Most likely another app is taking over.
there offline
wym by not working?
I mean what other RGB softwares do you have?
attention span final boss
sinal
which keyboard is better the 60he v2 or the 80he
i fix i7
The one you prefer.
Same performance, different amount of keys and different mounting mechanism.
i fix it
so they're just the same but the 80 is bigger
doesn't the 80he have 8k polling and the 60he 1k
doesn't that make a differece?
mansen is talking about the 60he v2
the 60he v2 has 8k too?
Yes.
alright ty
cuz I wanted to buy the v2 and then I heard ppl talk about the 8k polling of the 80he but I didn't know if the v2 had the same polling
European gravastar website sold out all UFOs this night
Whats a good alternative?
Keytok Nova, Wuque Flux, TTC Horse
What switches are your favorite? Just interested
I use UFOs now, but also like Flux and Horse
I thought Gravastar stuff sucked
Switches are good
Can be but switches are good
shut up
Please be kind :(
get back on slh bud
This sounds like a calibration issue to me
It's a year old message
brotein shake lowk late to the party

so i copped it so either im gonna play more or i just buns wasted 1000 bucks on 1 keyboard
I've only used lekker v2s and geon raw he switches. What are others that are popular?
baby ahh message

i go tu
no worries bro just crop 👍
Me too. Black or white?
Black, you?
Black
thats not me
How great are we speaking?
I was very much considering getting a gravastar keyb for the UFO switches
I don't know what you like so I can't answer that
It's purely sound and feel
I wouldn't buy a gravastar just to pluck out switches
What have you had previously, and how would you compare them?
I was in the market for a whole new keyb regardless as my keychron k2 he be sussing (PCB issues and out of warranty so rip)
looks at the channel name
Uh, I'd get an 80HE Tenz rn tbh
While stock lasts, comes with Lekker Tikken Mediums
This is what I ended up ordering, comes next Thursday and I'm excited
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised
Definitely, I'm excited as hell. Rn I'm using a spare office membrane keyboard in place of my broken k2 he too, so like triple the excitement lmao
Does anyone know what the piece is called that my usbc chord connects to on my wooting? I want to replace it, it seems to be loose and my keyboard randomly disconnects while gaming <@&476752926044454928>
i have keychron k8 pro alu atm, ordered normal black 80he, will plastic feel wobbly on this kb after using alu one?
when is the black zinc v2 coming out?
i can't let them have my money yet until i get the black version
and the v1's are not here atm for me
Please don't ping staff.
It's called a daughterboard.

I appreciate the information in a very rude manner. I won’t ping staff anymore, it was my one and only time.

Also stating things in a straight manner is not really rude. Different cultures and stuff.
Much better looking than the XVX ones, IMO. Also cheaper.(xvx in second photo for comparison)
Cleaning
Which keycaps are these ?
lmao thats cheap
are these double shot PBT?
and how do they sound?
says PBT so not sure if double-shot
u can see if double shot right
they sound pretty ok. I'd say the wooting keycaps are better somewhat
when u look inside the keycap
oh right let me check
Doesn't look like it?
Aye
So they may get worn out huh
But i rly dont like how fully see-through the xvx are
I wanted the light to shine strictly through the pattern
Which it does for those keys
they are very pretty, for however long they'll last
the texture feels matte, kinda like the wooting ones
ACCIDENTALLY BROKE ONE OF THE CLIPS ON ONE SWITCH
surely you have some spares?
Yeah I do, I’m not that dumb lol
Not about being dumb, but usually u got some left over from a full box of 'em
so i had my fingers crossed for you
All the broken clip does is make the switch exponentially harder to pull out but its still a bummer :/
yeah i get the feel
Swept most of the hair and dust out, just polishing with a dry microfiber cloth
Done polishing everything just gonna put the switches in again. Gonna inspect all of them first tho just to make sure I didn’t break any others
Everything seemed fine
Got them in now onto the keycaps
Looks beautiful
question for cleaning the keyboard am i able to use one of those air cans like you would for a pc or do I need to take the keys out cause i duno how
Got everything back together
My gt80 will be
White UFOs ✅
I finally got mine
How is it so far
Amazing I love it such a game changer
btw you may wanna claim your rank as a wooting owner
how do i do that?
Link the wooting account you purchased your keeb with with your discord account on the website
Then under my accout select refresh rewards once linked
Is it better to leave the debounce filter option on or off?
gulp
Just got my tracking number for me wooting

80he set up
Hey guys, just recieved my Ghost case 80he with the Wooting x TTC RGB switches, might be the best purchase i've made in a while
Have there been any updates on the black zinc case?
Been holding off on my keyboard purchase cause I REALLY want it 😭
Could be months. No news yet.
Pff ok
Might just have to suck it up and buy it
Anyone able to recommend the GT-80 cases?
Alr
Very goog
Best case imo
I am 100% biased
"Pre-Order" so they are sold out?
Ok
What is that mousepad?
So my accent keycaps are a darkish grey, then the main colour is white, i feel like grey case makes sense then but idk if the lack of a darker case will look good or not, anyone have input on that?
i have a gray gt80 but honestly i think a silver would have looked nicer
My gt80 case should be here
and if gravastar can stop being slow pokes and send me the rest of my ufos
I have a feeling my ufos are delayed cus they where in stock for a 10pk and 65pk so I bought that and then the 10pk is out of stock so
wihch game
?

wdym by ufos
Gravastar UFO switches
ooooh
I bought a 10pk a week ago. Cus that's all they had.
Then they had more 10pk and the 65pk in stock.
But if the 10pk was purchased before mine went through then my order won't ship until restock.
My anodising (black case) has been fine for ages, but it's recently started lifting and flaking is a couple spots. Not sure why it's suddenly started

Weird spring size is same,
i though Tenz one was +2mm
just tell me why lmao im not looking thrue 1000 post for one issue xD
im good lol
Suit yourself.
Not longer, just heavier. 🙂
anybody know how to keep rgb on at all times? my tenz 80he starts dimming after a whileand i cant find the right setting
its in settings
shocking ik
Settings on the left, General, RGB Sleep
ahh thank u, couldnt find it for the life for me😭
Hi, idk if im in the right chat. How do i take out the stabilizers of my 80he? I probably lubed them too much cause the key gets stuck at the bottom, i wanna wash the grease off and lube them again
Sometimes, you may need to fully disassemble your keyboard, whether it's to swap out stabilizers or replace components due to a defect. In this video, we'll guide you through the process.

Hey folks, I am considering purchasing a Wooting, is this the appropriate channel for questions (tell me and I will delete and move the message to another channel if you say so)
I decided on buying an 80 HE from the website along with the Lekker Tikken medium (I wanted quieter switches but I guess these will do because I didn't want any of the inaccuracy that comes with dampening as Wooting stated on the linked switch list and noise isn't too big of a concern, also the sites for any of the listed switches seem slightly dodgy)
I am looking for 2 things:
- Wooting compatible keycaps that come with a split spacebar
- Alternative cases, preferably with some heft to them like the metal ones Wooting offers (I will default to a white, zync alloy Wooting case if no offers are available at a reasonable price)
The end result I want is a RGB lit keyboard in colors in the purple-pink range or one that will take those colors well if the RGB lighting takes these colors
Thanks in advance
Can't really answer anything, just want to make sure because of your first question: You know the 80HE does not have a split spacebar, yes?
I assumed it would because of this configuration option being available
Am I wrong to assume that
It's because of the 60HE v2, the set is just multipurpose
No, that keycap set is just a thorough set for the 60HE v2, it will be offered for both
well the 80HE doesn't have a numpad either
again it's a set, you aren't meant to use all of it, it's just thorough enough that it fits anything you buy from Wooting
Should've noticed that, I do want a set of keycaps without a numpad because I am used to laptop keyboards
The splitbar addition was necessary due to the 60HE v2 release
Thanks, would have missed that otherwise
A split spacebar isn't really a top priority, just thought it would be nice
We also think it would be nice for 80HE, but if they ever make it, remains to be seen
@weary leaf can you recommend a keebmat? I saw you mention it. Just want to move to artisan mousepads and only way to do it is to get rid of my deskmat
Felt tbh, whichever color fits closer to your case color
Is there a difference in sound?
slight yeah
And what size would you recommend, 80he edition?
Is it in a way that one is more thockier or clackier etc?
i did the same thing btw, and i used to be an XXL user (900x400)
Whichever keycaps you go with, the important point is only that it has a cross-stem, often called Cherry MX, which should be the case for most modern keycaps. If you find RGB important, the switches are north facing, so avoid south facing legends
I can't say what buzzword it made it closer to honestly, i use it nearly from the same time i got my 80HE
Thanks, these seem like what I was looking for
I do have a question though
Do you have any long term experience with these? do they wear in a noticeable way in the span of a year?
Felt one?
I would get that yeah
i got a medium gray to start with for my Ghost
but i will order the light and dark sometime later
I have black zinc so probably dark grey
get dark ye
it's a pretty alu case with good quality
I am also taking any keycap suggestions, I saw that wave design here https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1478935359550394531 and thought it looked great, I am open to any semi transparent designs that work with RGBs (I am aware the post is for the 60 HE, unfortunately I can't live without the fn key row)
I see, thanks <3
can look up some reviews or ask fellow users @proven hearth has the GT60 and likes it a lot
It's called a topograhic design, if you're looking for keywords
Thanks, I am new to all the keyboard jargon
Well that one's because of the maps showing topograhic information, so not really keyboard
(technically a bit nicer)
Patiently waiting for my wooting and gt80 to arrive
Thanks
Wish DPD was a bit more clear on shipping status
btw I forgor to ask, do you like the anodized purple?
DPD is terrible at least where I am
It's alright for me
Apparently it cleared Netherlands customs on the 5th in Netherlands but it didn't say it the package was collected
As is on the pictures on the site it is a bit too dark, will probably go with it either way. (https://kbdfans.com/products/gt-80-case?variant=44982909272203)

Pbtfans xray 👍
Imo the single best looking keycaps with rgb
whats ur budget?
if i were to buy the module and build it myself cause i want the lekker tikken would the zinc case for the white version be v2 because the prebuilt specfically states it but idk if im buying the v1 white version if i were to build it
sorry youre not tuff keychron better
For the caps, no more than 40$ I think, though that is flexible
Out of stock sadly
If i order the module to pick other switches. will it be pre assembled when delivered?
If you order the module you have to assemble it yourself
how do i keep my wooting 80he clean?
Time to get that mechanical keyboard cleaned up! In this tutorial, Sander explains all the steps and the best thing of it all is… only household items are required!

Just don’t eat near it
i dont its white every small dusty partical is clearly visible
Oh white yeah that’s why I always get black
Yo does anyone have a picture of there like wires that come from the USB port
Cuz mine I think has 2 that have been put in wrong and it's causing disconnection issues
i think with shipping, id say wooting keycaps are much better at that price points, unless u want to gamble on quality with the cheaper keycaps for a colour u like
If I set the budget a little higher, what would you suggest?
Like the usb attachment?
That's not how it works
Does the tachyon mode matter that much? like i've had it enabled since I bought the keyboard, but I only really play world of warcraft, but I want my keyboard to have a nice design on it, does it matter all that much to have it on vs not? performance wise
well tachyon mode makes a differnce but you most likely wont be able to feel a difference it's like from 1ms to 0.125ms or wtv
$ - FBB
$$ - Osume, Keyreative, PBTFan, Keykobo, Domikey
$$$ -GMK
is my reccomendation
mb wrong reply
Oh okay, for a game lik wow do you think it's that beneficial? might just have a mode I can select with it on/off
don't think it's beneficial
fbb is like ur slightly above budget range without shippin g
appreciate it
Is the mode button not supposed to swap between all the active profiles? It only does 2
it swaps between your current and the last used profile
change it to cycle
I literally was about to say that, thanks 😄
nw, saw u playing overwatch
how is it?
You did? On Twitch?
ya
I love it, it's such a good game (if you have competent communicative teammates)
Are there files to 3d print standoffs for the plate and pcb wooting80he?
Specifically 3.5mm m2 standoffs?
want to buy 80HE, zinc alloy or tenz edition better?
and tenz tikkenz switch vs gateron jade pro, which one better?
okay, so i will buy tenz 80he now
what should i do next?
Enjoy it
do i need to do this service?
What are you even ordering?
Didn't you talk about the Tenz?

What even is this
It’s also auto customizated settings of tenz right we don’t have to do anything

this is not wootings website
Gosh i cant wait
I want to order, but im in indonesia and wooting not shipping to Indonesia
So i need to buy from authorized reseller here
Yes its authorized reseller here
This looks like a scammy site tho
The Tenz board is already assembled..
No, its not, they have a offline physical store, everything is expensive in here 😭
If you buy the Tenz board from wooting, it is pre assembled.. this site looks really ehhhh scammy for me
I see, so i just need to enjoy it ya
This is the story instagram, they provide expensive service
Tbf, I don't know how your country works.. all I can say this looks pretty ehh to me
You will be probably better informed
All I can tell you, if you order from wootings page the board is pretty good outta of the box
Do i need stem spacers for my 80he with gravastar ufo switches? Stock pbts
No
But i’ve seen a picture here that says they are exactly for this situation
You only use spacers if you have issues. With stock keycaps or any other decent quality keycap sets, you won't run into any issues when using 3.5mm switches
But there is still some empty space there or no?
HEY !!!! I have a problem with the Wooting 80HE sometimes. When I press Shift, the sticky key activates instantly. When I press a number like 5 once, it's like 10 fives appear at the same time. I have to unplug and plug the USB C back in again and everything works well. Has this happened to anyone else?
Disable sticky keys?

I am entirely whelmed. You're entitled to make use of your 30 day return period, if the products aren't to your liking.
also I didnt take good care of my wooting80he like you told in the package its got two broken leds how does that feel

I'd use the analog monitor by wooting
to check and also turn on debounce while ur at it to see if it helps
Probably not
hallo
sanest person
I will try it thanks for the tip
got my wooting 80he, so much better than my k2 he, not even close. It's almost like the jump from mechanical/optical to any hall effect keyboard (that isn't wooting at least)
wooting live up to their reputation imo
would you say going for the tenz edition is worth it when it comes to the switches that are used?
You could just get a normal 80he module and put tikkens in yourself
The only difference between tenz tikkens and the regular tikkens is color and spring swap
Up to you🤷
i would like to go for a black plate either way, now im just wondering if its not just more expensive that way. but compared to the normal lekkers that come stock?
i know, this is why i ask, if the difference is noticable when it comes to wobble and stuff
Tikkens are better than normal lekkers
They sound better, cant speak on wobble idk how they differ
But buying the tenz model would save you from needing an aftermarket plate (for black plate)
ye im thinking about it. thanks for the answear. how much lighter are the tikken tenz tho?
Yo i want to clean my 80HE, and i saw a video that said to put the keycaps in soapy water for a while and let em sit, but some comments were talking about how this could remove the crap on the keycaps, are the basic keycaps for the 80HE suitable for soapy water, or should i use a different method to clean em
also am i even asking in the right channel lmao
Stock tikkens are 60g and the tenz are 45g
also im sorry im bothering you so much, but on some pictures, the keycaps seem shine through, on some those dont
The tenz ones arent shine through iirc
Yeah they arent shine through
Soapy water is fine, just make sure it is not hot as it could cause the plastic to warp
The legends in the stock pbt keycaps are double shot, meaning they are a different plastic than the black outside
So they cannot be rubbed off with water or soap
Alrighty then thanks bro i’ll go drown the keycaps then
@lime aspen check dm if you can (:
Can somebody explain when to use stem spacers? The official guide says they are for switches of 3.5mm and lower, but people here are saying that i wont need them with gravastar ufo (3.5mm)
they are not shine through but i noticed that they are not fully opaque either
You only need them if you have wobble on your keys with stabilizers
Ive used 2 different 3.5mm switches and 3 different keycap sets and havent needed them yet
what thing makes this problem "invisible" in this case?
as i understand the empty space is still there or no?
Its mostly a problem with bad keycaps that have shitty stem tolerance
So they dont seat tightly on the stab stems
and thus they need support from the bottom to stay stable?
so gravastar ufos + stock pbts are fine for sure?
Most likely yeah
I never had issues with my stock wooting caps on jades or ti he
wait and see if your keycaps wobble.
if they do buy stem spacers
just a matter of manufactoring tolerances which dont go your way
what does request inconvience do
request invoice?
Gives you a receipt for the order
Alr
what would give me a deeper sound the fr4 plate or the stock pc plate on the 80he?
stock
when you click 'request inconvenience' a wooting employee will sneak into your house and leave your fridge door slightly open

I mean if he come with a free keyboard..
im getting my wooting 80he soon, anything i should know
Yall got any switch recommendations for this 80he module im purchasing soon, no price limits, not too worried about sound profiles either
Anyone got recommended profiles for fps games? I noticed while trying to stick revives which requires holding down "E" that I keep accidentally triggering rapid trigger by lifting the key ever so slightly. I wonder if that's also affecting my movement among other things?
Reporting back on this issue, a few months passed: it did not look like anything was loose or out of place when i opened my keyboard to look. i have replaced my usb cable and its connection point on the motherboard. anything else i can attempt on my part or is it time to start thinking about a replacement part?
Set the release actuation point higher or just disable it for your revive key
Sounds like a question for #🔧│keyboard_modding
theres any info about how many tenz tekovers left on store?
No
sad
At least 1
fomo?
It’s finally here!
Nice
well this is amazing! 😄
have you modded something already?
yeah I was equally as surprised
its amazing, i've had it for maybe 2 months now
I bought the 80he tenZ
Is it worse or better then the normal 80he?
why shouldn't he?
It answers the question
It was a joke
is being prepared to ship to you the longest phase?
Hi guys. I'm having this problem: my software can't detect my keyboard, it says "Command (getKeyboard profile [39]) Response received result ERROR (255). What to do?

Im buying the monitor rn
Than I got to save up again to get the keyboard
nice plan!
is being prepared to ship to you the longest phase?
when I hold down the FN Key only 50% of the led bar lights up, anyone know why?
probably some rgb settings
cant find that you can change the the led bar to another color if you click on FN key. Or am i blind?
there is a "light indicator" tab. that's where I would search
yeah im there, will try to look harder ahhaha
I don't have my 80HE connected rn
mind showing me what active effects you have?
oh found it. I had a option to match with the keybaord and the lights for the FN keys are different from the standard one 😄
is being prepared to ship to you the longest phase?
there you go
Just saw that I can disable Tachyon Brightness Limit so I can have 100% brightness with the Premium Cable Set 😄 lets go!
Replacement wooting PCB came already installed in the case but. It's missing a big spacer that's making it impossible to get my switches put in
The case is installed as protection during shipping
I see. No one mentioned that
how does that work? limitations with regular one?
You can do this with the included cable too
man im interested, what mods are you running?
with 80he
I don't use 80HE
plate, switches, keycaps
no stabs and foams?
no
what plate
I prefer stiffer plates, so FR4 or CF
is it true that overdoing foams can cause issues with key registering etc?
if i were to order torontokeyboardman foams kit, do you know how to avoid it?
This for example. They always include this foam in mod kits, you don't want to use that, if you care about performance
its a guaranteed decrease by just putting it in?
It's guaranteed to increase deadzone, make the accuracy worse etc. Anything soft between the PCB and plate is bad
if you include everything that give you in the kit it leaves almost no space in the case as well, people have reported boards bending, usually with the stiffer plates
what about something under pcb
you need to have some room in the case for the board to flex, or you risk damaging the pcb
i saw people putting few pet films, custom foams, layers of tape. is that dangerous then?
not at all, pet films are really thin, and the foam is fine as long as its under the board since it will flex, tape layers are also really thin. the modkit comes with foam, plate, pet film, switch foam, case foam, 2 layers of tape, gasket foam, and some other foam to add
the mod kit comes with so much to add that it leaves almost no room for the board to move, thats what can affect your performance and damage the board
im trying to custom 80he to "endgame" and then just chill and dont disassemble it, do you think those foam kits are a good idea then?
yeah i understand that you should pick like 2-3 things out of that
btw if no aftermarket stabs, would you tune the stock ones then? or usually not required
Most of the time just need to lube
is it possible without the complete teardown?
they could be, just dont use everything they include as a lot of it just takes up space and doesn't really do much other than make the keyboard "feel' better. really you just need the case foam and whatever plate you want to use to change the sound. Most people I've seen mod the keyboard just do a case swap, use the foam from the original keyboard, add some tape, and lube the switches. Some maybe get aftermarket stabs but thats about it
what about switching stock plate to fr4? i see that its usually preferred to pc
yeah thats fine, you don't need the whole kit for that tbh
just get a nice plate, maybe some thicker foam if you think the keyboard sounds hollow, and lube the switches and stabs. maybe add some masking tape to the bottom of the pcb and thats about all you need to do
do i understand that wires are under this white plate? i think their area also needs to be lubed, or no?
most of the mods I've seen people do is just a nicer foam, some lubing, and some tape. Keyboard sounds great and then the people i've seen use a modkit have a very similar sound with just a lot more work, maybe like a 15% deeper sound or the change in plate changing the pitch of it
i see that for example pc plate is softer than fr4. is it really noticeable or you need to press hard for it etc?
it doesn't really change how you press it, its more of how the pcb flexes when you press a key, a stiffer plate will have less of a flex when you press a key down
how would those plate compare to mainstream gaming keyboards? i dont see it mentioned there, probably they use other type of assembly?
for example what would be a plate equivalent of some logitech board
usually some sort of aluminum or steel iirc
steel is more of a clacky sound while aluminum is more of a thock
what mods are you personally running on your 80he?
metal will always be stiffer, louder, and more resonant
plastic is usually softer, quieter, and more flexible
composite plates like FR4 or CF are usually a middle ground between the two
i haven't modded it yet, I'm waiting to order a metal case before I mod anything so I don't have to take it apart multiple times. I'm planning very basic mods, just a thicker case foam, some tape on the back of the pcb, and depending on if i have hella free time, lube the switches and stabs
also looking into some aftermarket stabilizers but not 100% on those yet
Alright after a bunch of googling and based on the advice here I decided to go with the following
KBDfans GT-80 case https://kbdfans.com/products/gt-80-case?variant=44982909272203
Wooting 80HE Module
Lekker Tikken Medium Switches
Keykobo Poltergeist Key Set (base) https://unikeyboards.com/products/keykobo-poltergeist-keycap-set (yeah I went a lot above the budget I set but I went through at least 20 websites before I saw anything in stock that matches the case's color and looked decent IMO, the legend seems like it would light up well with RGBs though I haven't seen any pictures to prove that, I hope this setup will serve me well for a while)
These seem like they are compatible with each other and would look good with RGBs, did I miss any incompatibilities/issues between those?
Also are there any peripherals/tools I should buy? (anything from cables to lube, assume I am a complete noob and don't have anything besides an IFixit screwdriver kit)
GT-80 Case It has been a year since the release of the Tofu60 Redux case, and we have received an abundance of positive feedback from our users. the keycaps arent shine through
if thats what u mean by the legends lighting up well with rgbs
They aren't completely shine through but I think the legends will at least be lit under RGBs
I do not think the legends will be lit at all
at least it doesn't look like it
The legends looked at least slightly luminescent (or high contrast enough) which meant that the lower layer of the key is in that color, thought that would mean that at least some of the backlight will shine through, slight as it may be, but yeah I guess it won't work through solid, colored plastic that way.
Still, these are legible enough in low light which is part of the reason I wanted RGBs so I think I will go with these either way.
Thanks for the help
Are there any other keys with springs of different weights like TenZ's WASD keys?
The Shift and Alt keys feel lighter compared to other keys, similar to WASD.
I'd like a map showing what spring weight (in grams) each key uses.
On the Tenz? They all have the same spring
It feels different to me.
Is it just my imagination?
Probably, also keep in mind bigger keys are heavier
The keys adjacent to WASD feel slightly lighter.

Afaik it's the same switch with the same spring. Guess it's a placebo
Def all the same spring
Maybe it's just my imagination.
Thank you.
Does wooting 80he suffer from latency issues if I were to couple it with the PC via a KVM switch? I wanna use wooting for both gaming on my PC & on my work laptop.
Latency shouldn’t be a problem. You might have to try around if power is an issue for you. And maybe depending on how the KVM handles switching the keyboard might not properly connect without replugging
Some kvms can add latency or cause issues as described above or have power delivery problems
Especially shitty cheap kvms
You could get 2 of the same aviator cable set and be the first person in the history of keyboards to actually make use of the intended feature of the aviator connector
I received my 80he today and it came with just one 6 degree foot
you shouldnt use them anyway unless you're a feet lover
I used 7 degree keyboard and planned to use 6
lower degree better ergonomics
double check the bags and case. If you're really missing one, then reach our to customer support and we get things sorted
Yeah i definitely double checked, i was surprised that there were only 3 feet when i saw the bag
Looks very good
I ordered mine last Wednesday and received today (eu)
I’m in Aus so ngl idk how long it’ll take
Like 2 weeks?
I got mine off aus mod shop
Think it's a bit more expensive tho
You can start searching the mods you want (but then you might end up buying tons of plastic things off of aliexpress ngl)
And past experience with that in DHL is they usually take like one and a half to 2 week
I don't know if they have like a Warehouse in asia
Never even thought abt mods ngl
So if they do ship from asia it's a bit faster
But i guarantee you that if you google it once you will he hooked
Just like me, i already spent almost another keyboard worth on mods (last 7 days)
lol probably it was my bday recently only reason I got it and like I have more money maybe for mods
To be fair i received zinc prebuild today and the stock one is absolutely usable
And most people dont need to change anything
Its more of a hobby at this point
Seems to be some confusion here. We ship from the EU except for US customers (their have their own warehouse) and to some east Asian countries, depending on what was ordered (and if the customer specifically selected to ship from HK)
mine shipped from NL which is funny because that's 16000km away and it still arrived 6 days earlier than anticipated.
You mean if there's vroom

I figured there would be layover in china or germany lol.
Of course if it's during a peak season of packages, or if there's an armed conflict in the middle east, that might cause some trouble.
very lucky in that case. How oil needed for my case, i got the zinc case
lmao
May i ask what usually happens if a package is missing some small thing? For example im missing one 6 degree foot and its exactly the one i prefer using. Shipping 1 keyboard foot is a good but i would say funny solution at the same time
(I contacted support but just asking)
We'd ship a custom order with the missing bits.
The shipping in this case is probably like 50x the missing part cost
you wouldnt need to pay for it
youre missing an item, thats not your fault
Basically im seeing why i paid for wooting from the first day
My friend has a “wooting killer” from VGN and they are not responding for half a year now
just got my 80he tenz take over holy its perfect love it anything i should do to make it better?
Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with my Wooting 80HE. It doesn't allow me to enter the BIOS, and even if I manage to get in (using another method), none of the keys work once I'm inside.
I have already tried disabling NKRO mode, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix, or do I need to keep a separate cheap plug-and-play keyboard just for BIOS access? Thanks.
lets gooo
Lets go!
So tuff 🥲🙏🏽
Feels like Christmas
lol
just ordered mine🥹
this one zinc white / zinc raw?
v1 white zinc
am i being stupid or how does one remove a global effect
i think about upgrade my tenz to zinc raw, but i need reference first
TenZ in GT-80
i think a gt-80 black case + red badges would look good for the tenz
I was going to go that route, but the red badges were out of stock. So I went with the red case.
rip,
they seem to be in stock now tho
Not going to buy another case for the keyboard. It's literally a desk "art" piece currently. I stick to using my other heavily modded 80HE or my 60 v2.
you click where it says global effects on your screenshot and then delete it
My trifecta.
My gt-80 case should be in today/tomorrow
Toronto keyboardmans modding kit Thursday
Rest of my ufos in like 2-3 days
Then I can finish my keeb
W i got it in black i should of got it in that
How different is the Tenz sound profile with the zinc case as compared to the plastic case?
Identical? The TenZ case is plastic as well.
I meant, zinc to tenz plastic case 🙃
hmm sounds a bit louder and clacky compared to plastic i think
is just that the tenz wooting have a set of new feet
and fr4 plate and thats about it
Lighter force switches too
Yeah, I was curious how the FR plate impacts the zinc case I guess.
Makes it louder and slightly brighter.
does anyone know if the black zinc alloy v2 out for the 80he yet?
only for the people who opted to get the black v2 replacement way back
What's wrong with the key?
i mean led
instead blue its more of a purple and instead yellow as you can see its more of an orange
Use the wootility
how many layers of tape mod are yall doing when modding
0
Might be a faulty led, you could reach out customer support
how come
yep i did that already and hopefully my problem will be solved fast
fair✌️
Like my mouse guys?
we agree that there should be no issue tape modding the 80he right?
overheating is only a thing if the pcb has a battery ye?
🙏 was thinking going on the low end myself.
ty
set the rgb values to 0 on all then you can test each color led
set red to 255, turn if off if it works
set green to 255, turn it off if it works
set blue to 255
what the
270 grams
Oh right, I forgot to mention the obvious
look like green might be out
Green still with us but it’s sightly different than it’s brothers
you can try contacting support and see what they say
since 80hes have 2 year led warranties
I think you may be colorblind here
Should I get the v2 or 80he
2/10 ragebait
I agree with lumenistic.. on the other picture with keycaps on you can't really tell a difference, tho here one is obviously more green
Do you prefer 80% or 60%?
That's the most important question and only you can answer it
yeah i had to change color so he could spot the difference. at 0/255/0 its not that obvious
On what color was this picture taken on?
something like 170(or slightly more)/255/0
im new to this whole brand of keyboard i wanna edit the colours of the wave rainbow effect but idk how is this possible ?
Not currently possible, but there are a few different wave color presets to choose from.
If you have a very specific desire, you could use a program like SignalRGB or Artemis
not currently does this mean they are thinking about it ?
Expanding RGB options is on the table, but I don't have any timeframe and I don't know what the specifics are
hey, I just received my TenZ 80HE. I have a question: is it normal to see the rgb light through the engraved letters? I thought the keycaps were dyesub, so expected light coming out only from the little spaces between the caps. but now that I dimmed my room lights I can see the letters shine.
Dyesub doesn't mean light can't glow through passively. And that's what you're seeing.
I thought the engravings on the TenZ keycaps were completely sealed. That's a pleasant surprise for me: I don't like rgb light during the day, but I appreciate a muted lightning during the night. The TenZ theme is perfect for my black/orange themed desk!
what percentage is your rgb brightness at ?
For the picture I think it was at 100% or around that, but for daily use anything above 70-75% is too much for me... because the black plate+caps you need to pump the brightness up. Anyway brightness can be misleading just looking at a picture, it depends on camera exposition. Don't expect the letter engravings to shine like this during the day.
P.S.: I took a photo at 70% brightness and it looks exactly the same, I think due to interpolations in the camera software. My only intent was to demonstrate that the dysub TenZ keys can let RGB light through (passively, Mansen said), but it's only noticeable in low-light environments. To have an idea of how subtle it is, if you have a bright website open on your monitor, you can't see the rgb letter shine anymore
Is that rhe Artisan zero?
the one in the picture is the daidai raiden, but I alternate this with the red otsuv2 (that also matches the theme)
who tf uses pg dn
People who scroll long documents or play old games.
Do you use Home or End more often?

but it takes you to the top or bottom of the page
well thats not scrolling really. its just jumping to the start or end of the document (or line in an editor)
ins is understand as afaik most people only use it in linux, but delete?
Never in my life have I touched that key
Lol
how do people even use keyboards these days
POCHITA
yes
very epic
make an army, one for every key
typeplus stabs are damn near silent for how i have them
lol
I finally have a porple keeb!
So far right now all i have done to it is the following;
GT-80 Case
TypePlus Stabs - buttery smooth and hardly to no rattle
UFO Switches (on 10 of the keys...
for the remainder, hopefully tomorrow and all the keys will have them)
POM plate from Toronto Keyboardman
I have left the stock white gasket that the keyboard came with
I have left the original case foam at the bottom of the case
Drop Cyber MT3 keycap base and novelty set
I have the foam kit from Toronto Keyboardman and a carbon fiber plate to try if I want to but honestly.... right now.... do I need it???? no I love the sound of this keyboard a lot the way it is right now without the extra foam.
the side badge is the gray one btw for those who are asking
could we get a sound test?

maybe when I get the remaining UFO keys in
esc, wasd, space, arrow keys are the only things I have ufo switches on at this moment
oh okay what kind of lube did you use for the stabs? I wanna get some
MK Krytox 205g0 Lube 5ml from mechanicalkeyboards
stuff I had from a year ago I do have dialectic grease but I was told by wizard that it isnt necessary I will say tho the backspace is now rattling slightly
so I will fix that
but it isnt an annoying rattle so I will take it
I tried lubing the stock stabs and mine don't sound too bad but still not how I like it
you will get the actual sound that it will sound like after having initially lubed it with some use
but I am just thinking to myself do I really wanna take apart the keyboard again, just to remove that one stab and relube it.... not entirely on the top of my to do list at this moment
I did also add a foam piece on the space bar because MT3 keycaps on spacebars do be a bit hollow sounding which is just some basic ass foam kit for space bars off of amazon
yeah its a pain to take it all apart just for one stab lol, looks good tho!
I am lazy and lubing the stabs and figuring out how to put them together first took me 10-15 mins and I am like ok... we are gonna lube it up realllll nice and fuck it let it sit for a week or so and I will consider relubing then xD
I was dumb and took me a little after having built to realize what went wrong with the light diffuser.
KBDFans video of the assmebly of the GT-80 case didnt go over this necessarily.
For the light diffusers you either completely remove the stock one and use the "glowing" one, OR you remove the stock one and replace the diffuser entirely with the other one for the individual LEDs to be shown.
either way stock diffuser is removed
yeah i like no diffuser it looks more natural, do you get any ping with the aluminum case?
I just ordered a black gt80 for mine
Wizard has a audio clip of this somewhere the ping from what I understood in their video was if forced sure otherwise no general use no issues
If your talking about the guy who made the video that sold me on the carpios (i have carpal tunnel and do paperwork all day so I thought not a bad idea...) he found it and he viewed it as a fault when in reality its not. You have to force it to do it. Or flick the top case from what I understand.
Which idk who tf is gonna flick a metal object for the hell of it.
yeah thats the video i saw and true lol
This
weird i dont have that pinging on mine
I have yet to try it but
Flicked it hard enough?
I did buy a sheet of poron foam i will eventually cut to size and modify to fill the entire base layer of the case. I may also use more of the foam kit from Toronto keyboardman but to be honest with you.... it isn't needed. The tape mod film the kit comes with as well honestly probably not needed.
I didnt even try Wootings stock plate in this case because to me a lot of the plates sound similar. I do however prefer my plate to be black because aesthetically i prefer it. White shows LEDs more but for purple....
Brother don't go breaking a nail now
im a mechanic my hands are basically hammers at this point 😂
I did find pom to bring slightly more thock?
wanna fix a ecoshit equinox?
PCV valve froze seal took a shit now engines fucked sooooo weeeeeee
we dont have chevvys over here so ive never worked on one
Your blessed xD
I personally have flicked around my case, not a issue on mine. Could be a earlier manufactuering defect that they had fixed over time
they may not have any foam padding in the case, let me remove the foam in mine
well
they had sworn up and down on using foam fill more or less
because it is indeed cheaper but however to remove most resonance in cases you would want foam
there is more of a ring to it but not as bad as they had it
The kind of stuff you'd find at a build a bear workshop lmao
Which I mean hey it works but high density is imo better
the only foam i use in my 80he is what came with the stock case
asmr
Yeah that's what I'm with rn i wanted to give the stock a go with pom plate then I'll make more changes later
I am upset tho I want gmk keycaps but futurefunk was gone and I had the chances to buy them a year ago...
So drop set I have rn works for now.... ;-;
How many times did you remove them?
ABS is a softer plastic compared to PBT
That might just be a manufacturing defect
Drop is also ABS
ABS softer, easier formed, more prone to issues like that in the image, eventually shines from fingerprint oil
PBT harder, more likely to defect in forming process especially spacebars, better hold up long run, no shine
unfortunately high quality PBT still shines in a day after use for me, clean hands, no food
it is more durable than ABS tho
that is unfortunate. That shouldnt be the case ever.
my abs set havent showed any signs of shining yet
keykobo #1
ive noticed other people who use their keyboards that claim this, same keycaps, tend to have dry hands by nature
the edge of my spacebar on my pbt set started to shine but thats not a big issue for me
was using pbtfan crosshairs for a year before i got 60he v2
part of me wishes i had dry hands

Same here
you have oily hands too?
Yea it's pretty bad
someone told me to not feel too bad about it since it acts as a natural moisturiser, so our hands may look better as we age
i guess I will see in 20-30 years lol
Lmao
For those who have installed gravastar UFOs, did you need long pole stabilizers?
No
Hello Wooting Team, I'm making a custom coiled cable for my 80he and I need some information if possible. What type of Type C and specifications are needed for it to support 8K pollin rate, (My first try was a fail as it only worked with 1k polling rate)
If this isnt the correct place please redirect me where to ask. Thanks.
Uh... USB 2.0

That's all you need for 8khz polling. Beyond that it's just a question of good soldering, quality wiring and not making a super long cable.
Made a 1.5m with 17cm coiled part, thick wires. Type C on both end.
And what happens when you enable 8khz polling in Wootility?
USB Device malfunctioning popup on windows, if I change it while its plugged in. Same if it 8k beforehand
Works on 8k ducky board but that one probably needs less power. Power delivery should be 5V2A or more?
Which kind of gauge is it needed? 22 24 26 28?
ihaswooting

if you assume it is power maybe try turning off the LEDs on the wooting to get it to be a bit lower at least
Tried with turned off LEDs and Bar, only 8k without tachyon, still nothing doesnt even recongize it if its set to 8k, need to use the stock cable to reset it to 1k to continue
The signaling on USB high speed is a lot more sensitive to voltage drops
Just ordered a Kbdfans GT-80 case for my TenZ edition, as well as some HMX Crystal switches. Can’t wait. Probably getting here on Monday.
A few weeks ago I said that people posting Wooting metal keyboards on sub-€100 desks were prioritizing the wrong things.
I took that personally. I upgraded my workspace.
Now everything is premium and finally fits together.
W setup
Fractal North (XL)! I have the same. Love it.
does anyone have an idea why my gt80 hasnt come yet after 3 weeks?
ask kbdfans?
okie
casn you send me the link
idk if i can since it might be considered promotion
just google kbfans discord server
ok
at least you can't send it into text channels here afaik cuz automod will get ya ass for it
the clankers are watching us
why side eyeing me?
meant to put shocked

Yeah and it fitts well with the wodden desk
they dont do weekend shipping right
wooting members dont work on the weekends
i mean like just shipping not making the keyboards
Yea but that depends on the warehouses.. and they are 3rd party warehouses
ok thx
US warehouse does, EU does not usually
yo I've got a question. I'm thinking of buying wooting 80HE. I otp ryze in league and I can feel that my keyboard does not press the buttons consistently at times, especially late game where you spam them hard. (my current keyboard doesn't have any special effect like rapid trigger or HE) Is it gonna make a big difference?
just got my wooting 80he today. any tips??
I would think so
You can spam keys faster
Mansen when fix so I can have Ihaswootign from purchasing somewhere else? D:
I'm not aware of any such project.
Depends what it is you want to do.
Did you buy the plastic case vs?
Did you buy the zinc alloy vs?
Do you want to modify it? (Different switches, foam, kbdfans case options, so on)
I do not remember who but I think one of the other wooting staff said there might be a integration to have those who bought their wooting keeb from somewhere else
could've been entirely mistaken by it

Probably Tony. But I have no knowledge of this, so couldn't tell you when if ever 🙂
The problem is that it would either have to be a manual confirmation system - which would eat up CS man hours. Or we'd be able to tap into reseller systems - and there's a lot.
So uh... not sure what the approach is there.
whichever staff that is also a satisfactory nerd
thats all I can say about it lmao
and "tapping" into a resellers system a lot of resellers i can see baring that from the get go due to possible security concerns
but.... eitherway.... thanks for making the best keeb yo 😄
Satisfactory huh?
yas 😄

satisfactory is what got me into dedicated servers and learning linux xD and if/when I do play satisfactory... it is for like... 20-32hrs at a time
sooo yeah this is very true
oh
mr akbar I think is the one that said maybe
There's a concept of a plan to consider the possibility of thinking about developing such a thing
Mr Akbar... I must see factory
I haven't made much progress on my factory in the last month or so
Last big project that was completed was my cystal oscillator factory
D: but... how are you bypassing Ficsits break policy?
something that I find insanely funny is that you can make a 80 coal gen power plant that runs entirely off of itself and you do not need biomass burners now
I have yet get to nuclear power ever in any of my games xD

ive only played with germans...

but the geothermal power gen and one of the larger open water areas you can use that to power the entire coal gen
pretty coooooool 😄 you do need to block them off in groups of 20 however
I still have so many windmills in my old world. Cause I refuse to engage with plant burners. I like my jungle lush 😄
I also cba to reinstall the Epic launcher to play, so I'll probably wait for a deep Steam sale.
iirc when I bought it off of steam it was 20$
Would you guys say that tapemod sounds better than stock 80he?
80HE already comes with one.
still frog tape changes the sound quite strongly - i would not say in a good or bad way but its still a customisation there
Sure. I could have expanded on my answer. 80HE already comes with a tape mod, so the difference might be less than you think
i would say its quite the difrence and i liked the original more so theres that
someone might still like it more with frogtape haha ..
I am asking you because I am running out of options, the return policy is a bit vague when it comes to refurbished units, are they still eligible for the regular 30 day replacement?
Yes. 🙂
sorry i meant return not replacement
Okay understood
ngl I am just not feeling this keeb, I think the switches are to blame they are just extremely fatiguing for my fingertips and they hurt after a bit of use
sure this issue could be fixed by buying another set of switches but after spending almost 200€ on a keeb I do not want to spend another 100€ just for it to feel right
chances are pretty high you'll end up spending the same or more on a classic switch custom kb
unless you'd be satisfied enough with one of the bigger brand options
I disagreee wholeheartedly, I have an Ak820 Pro as my laptop keeb, all I would need to do here for example would be putting in tactile/clicky switches and I would be fine, but for some reason the linear typing experience is not as fatiguing OOTB on that one to begin with
I am not an enthusiast at all, if you are dead set on wanting to use ISO layouts, 90% of the custom keeb hobby is already closed off to you by default
